Immediate Release
Saturday night, at the Soaring
Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, twenty-three
year-old Philadelphia middleweight knockout
sensation - Tyrone "Young Gun" Brunson
(18-0, 18 KO's) will aim to break the world
record for consecutive first-round knockouts
to begin a career, when he takes on unheralded
Michigan journeyman, Francis McKechnai (3-14,
3 KO's).
Brunson tied the current record on June 8, 2007,
with a technical knockout victory over Jaime
Waru (18-25-1, 9 KO's), though it wasn't easy.
Waru managed to withstand Brunson's full-throttle
attack until he finally succumb to Brunson's
heavy hands at 2:56...of the first round, of
course!
Brunson now shares the world record with current
WBA Super Featherweight champion Edwin Valero,
at least until Saturday night!
According to Carlos Linas of Clip Boxing and
Bluecap Promotions, "The Guinness Book
of World Records will have people in attendance
to see if Tyrone Brunson will make history."
Fight fans, boxing historians, or those simply
interested in seeing if Brunson can make history,
can catch the action - to include 6 additional
action-packed bouts - live on www.GoFightLive.tv,
beginning at 8 PM (EST).
The potentially historic Brunson - McKechnai
affair is a featured undercard attraction on
the seven bout card, which will be headlined
by former light middleweight champions Bronco
"Superman" McKart (51-8, 31 KO's)
and Raul "El Diamante" Marquez (40-3,
29 KO's). In the co-main event, 35 year-old
former WBC Lightweight champion, Stevie "Lil
But Bad" Johnston (41-5-1, 18 KO's) takes
on once-beaten, and power-punching Ghanaian
lightweight, Ray "Emperor" Narh (22-1,
19 KO's).
Also slated for undercard
