Tacoma, WA (March 23, 2014) – After a back and forth war, Stivens Bujaj (12-0, 9 KOs) prevailed in the seventh round, scoring a TKO at the 1:52 mark in the seventh round of Halquist Productions’ Battle at the Boat 95 main event for the WBC United States Cruiserweight Title. Notable undercard fights include Cameron Sevilla-Rivera (3-0, 3 KOs) scoring his third knockout in as many fights and Jeremy McCleary (3-0) keeping his record undefeated in a very impressive fight against a very game Corben Page (4-9-1).

A sold out crowd was on hand to witness the seven fight Battle at the Boat card and showed tremendous support throughout the night that made for a world class night of boxing.

Bujaj came into the Battle at the Boat 95 main event more confident than ever, publicly stating that he’ll be ready to fight a top ten cruiserweight by the end of 2014 and took the first step into getting his wish, taking on his toughest test yet, Victor Barragan, in what was the first ten round bout ever scheduled for Bujaj.

The fight was very back and forth that featured Barragan pressing the fight and Bujaj contently focusing on his counter punch while showing a very solid uppercut. There were times in the fight where Barragan had Bujaj trapped against the ropes and throwing numerous shots, but Bujaj showed a good chin and elusiveness enabling himself to stay composed. Bujaj was able to punch more efficiently and powerfully, putting Barragan in danger a few times in the early rounds.

At the end of the fifth round, every fan in the 1800 seat showroom stood up and cheered enthusiastically, showing their appreciation of the effort that both Bujaj and Barragan were giving.

As the fight continued Barragan was easily the more roughed up fighter, spitting blood with every punch landing on him, and at the 1:52 mark of the seventh round, Bujaj was able to get the best of Barragan, landing a shot to the chin that buckled Barragan, dropping him in the middle of the ring. Barragan was able to beat the count, but was not able to convince the referee he was able to continue. Bujaj became the new WBC United States Cruiserweight champion with the victory.

On the undercard, Fife, WA’s Cameron Sevilla Rivera put on another display of heavy hands, knocking down his opponent, Juan Carlos Rodriguez, twice within the first two minutes of the first round, the second knockdown taking Rodriguez out for good. Buckley, WA’s Jeremy McCleary faced his toughest test as a pro, but left the showroom victorious winning by majority decision. Official undercard results below:
