PHILADELPHIA (April 18, 2013)—This Friday night, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania native Anthony Caputo Smith (13-1, 10 KO’s) has a big opportunity to advance his career when he takes on Dhafir Smith for the Pennsylvania State Light Heavyweight title at Harrahs Philadelphia.

That bout will headline a nine bout card that is promoted by Joey Eye Boxing Promotions and David Feldman.

The twenty-seven year old sees this not only a chance to capture his first belt but a gateway to the future.

“I want to win this title because it will open up great opportunities for me”, said Caputo Smith

But he will have to do it against the battles tested Dhafir Smith (26-23-7, 4 KO’s). A man who has been in with everyone and has a win over former world champion Jeff Lacy.

“Dhafir is a great fighter and it should be a heck of a fight. I have seen him fight on Youtube and I am ready for the fight. I am prepared to put on a good show and get the win”

Despite having a modest 9-5 amateur career but his never quit attitude has propelled to the 13-1 professional mark.

Smith owns a business called Caputo and Guest Mushrooms which grows and sells Mushrooms.

In an eight round Jr. Middleweight bout, DeCarlo Perez (9-2-1, 3 KO’s) of Atlantic City takes on Julius Kennedy (7-4-1, 3 KO’s) of Windsor Mill, MD.

In a six round Lightweight bout, Victor Vasquez (16-7-1, 7 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on an opponent to be named.

Julio DeJesus (7-3-3, 4 KO’s) of Chester, PA battles Ariel Duran (7-3-1, 4 KO’s) of New York in a six round Jr. Welterweight bout.

Javontae Starks (6-0, 5 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN takes on an opponent to be named in a six round Jr. Middleweight bout.

Alex Barbosa (4-1-1, 1 KO) of Philadelphia will box Jose Del Valle (0-1-2) of Corozal, Puerto Rico in a four round Super Bantamweight tilt.

Super Bantamweight Arthur Parker (1-8-1, 1 KO ) of Lancaster, PA takes on debuting Drew Aguillar of Philadelphia in a four round Super Bantamweight bout.

Welterweight Anthony Prescott (1-1-1, 1 KO) of Cherry Hill, NJ takes on an opponent to be named in a four round bout.

In a battle of pro debuting Lightweights, Amateur standout Damon Allen takes on Joseph Ahaamid.
