Chambers defeats Dimitrenko to earn shot at Klitschko

“Fast” Eddie Chambers won a place in line to fight for the Heavyweight championship of the world by scoring a majority decision over Alexander Dimitrenko in a WBO Elimination bout in Hamburg, Germany.
Chambers and Dimitrenko each tried to establish dominanced early but neither was able to gain an advantage over the first few rounds.
In round seven, Chambers landed a shot to the liver that paused Dimitrenko and he bent over towards the ropes and he was admimistered a standing eight count by referee Geno Rodriguez. That seemed to light a fire under Chambers as he began to lands some rapid fire combinations that were highlighted by some vicious uppercuts.
Anything that Dimitrenko threw was basically laughed off by Chambers, who was the one walking down his bigger opponent.
In round ten, Chambers landed a huge left hook that had Dimitrenko’s mouthpiece flying fifteen feet across the ring as he slumped on his backside on the canvas giving Chambers his second knockdown.
Chambers had Dimitrenko reeling in round twelve as a barrage of punches had Dimitrenko almost out but he held on long enough to finish the fight.
Chambers, 208 lbs of Philadelphia won by scores of 117-019, 116-110 and a dubious 113-113 score to raise his record to 35-1. Dimitrenko is now 29-1
