Tacoma, WA (December 3rd, 2013) – This Saturday, CageSport MMA returns to the Emerald Queen Casino for the promotions’ 28th installment. Headlining the action is Kirkland resident, Brent “Mankill” Knopp seeking to defend his middleweight for the first time when he takes on StrikeForce veteran and hometown favorite, Cory “The One” Devela in the night’s five round main event.

Tickets for CageSport XXVIII, set for Saturday, December 7th at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA are still available and can be purchased at the Emerald Queen Casino box office and online through Ticketmaster. Doors open at 6 PM with the first fight scheduled for 7 PM.

In what is the biggest fight of Brent Knopp’s (4-0) young professional career, a victory on Saturday night will give Knopp his first big boost into the national MMA spotlight. This weekend, Knopp will pursue improving his record to 5-0 to retain his title while leaving even less doubt that he is indeed the region’s top middleweight.

Devela (9-5) on the other hand is fighting to get back onto the big stage where he knows he belongs. Devela made his return to the cage in October at CageSport XXVII following a three year layoff after fighting three times for StrikeForce. In his return to the cage, Devela showed that he was simply rested rather than rusted as he dominated Byron Sutton and secured the first round TKO.

Being featured on the CageSport XXVIII card are female fighters Amy Cadwell (1-0) and Jessica Doerner (1-2) who will be fighting on the undercard portion of the show in a fight between two promising mixed martial artists looking to impress the local fight crowd. Women’s MMA has seen a huge increase in popularity over the past year due to the UFC showcasing the top women fighters in the world including superstar, Miesha Tate, who has fought for CageSport twice in the past.

Eight other fights, all scheduled for three rounds, are also scheduled on the undercard that feature some of the premier up and coming Northwest MMA fighters vying to make a name for themselves.
