Flores destroys McNemar in Two

If BJ Flores wanted to make a statement tonight…. mission accomplished. Flores showed lightning speed and explosive power in an absolute annihilation of 13-1 David Mcnemar. Flores defended his NABO belt and added the NABA belt to his collection while he seemingly hurt Mcnemar every time he touched him. There were a total of three knockdowns in the fight.

In the first round both fighters came out with Flores being the aggressor. Flores used the jab to the head and the body to set up a couple of big right hands throughout the round that visibly shook Mcnemar. Flores hand speed was very impressive and the assortment of body head attack had Mcnemar on his heels.

In the 2nd round, Flores once again came out aggressive behind a solid defense and numbing jab that had Mcnemar looking for answers. About halfway though the round Flores landed a hard left uppercut to the body that dropped Mcnemar to a knee. Mcnemar got up at 7 but was than again hammered with a hard overhand right that put him down again. Mcnemar arose again and Flores went in for the kill digging hard body shots and landing one final right hand that put Mcnemar down for a third time and referee mike England was forced to stop the contest. Mcnemar arose on shaky legs and Flores was declared the winner by TKO at 2:14 seconds of the 2nd round.

If anything, Flores showed improved power and speed tonight. His jab was very sharp and his assortment of body/head attack was very intelligent and effective. The power in the right hand was obvious as Mcnemar fought a close 12 round decision with #5 world rated Ryan Coyne last year and Flores absolutly dominated him. Flores looks sharp and we will be looking to continue to move up the ratings and look towards a shot at a world title.

Flores says, ” I was excited to fight in front of my home town fans. I know I need to get better and keep improving if I want to fight against the best and tonight was just another small step in that direction. I feel fine and ready to move forward. I have to dominate guys like this if I am to challenge for a world title. I want to continue to prove myself to the public and to my fans. ”

Flores definitely showed frightful power tonight and very good hand speed. Flores has obviously made some adjustments in his training and looked very good tonight.

I can’t help but comment on this article. I attended the fight and happen to know that anyone with any knowledge about boxing could tell that it wasn’t Flores’ power that sent Mcnemar to the mat. Approximately 1 hour pre-show, Mcnemar was informed that the promoting company that was being ran by Flores and his crew could not afford to pay what was promised by contractual obligation. Hate to ruin it for Flores and all of his fans, but it wasn’t just a coincidence that McNemar actually won the Coyne fight, and then was easily knocked to the mat multiple times in the second round of the Flores fight! Flores, his trainer, and the whole promotional team lacked class and cash!

lol! Good one, jkaple! Not sure whose payroll you are on (pretty good idea though!) but since I was in the front row at the fight, AND SINCE I WAS IN THE ROOM WHEN MCNEMAR WAS PAID IN FULL IN CASH at the conclusion of the fight (totally paid in cash so he wouldn’t have to claim the full income or pay taxes on it— wouldn’t even accept a cashiers check so it could be handled professionally for taxes) then I’m going to have to go on the record and say the following 2 comments: 1) You can have your own COMMENT THREAD “JKAPLE” but YOU CAN’T HAVE YOUR OWN FABRICATED FACTS (If you’re not sure what the word “fabricated” means, look it up— it would be a good word for you to know, and a good action to avoid in the future if you want anyone to take you seriously and not just come to the conclusion that you are a liar– or fabricator of fiction). 2) In one of your lead lines in this comment thread, you allege that, and I quote: “…Anyone with any knowledge about boxing could tell it wasn’t Flores’ power that sent Mcnemar to the ma.t” First of all, both Floyd Mayweather and David Haye have selected and paid BJ Flores to be their primary sparring partner and training partner to prep for their world title fights against some of the toughest , strongest opponents in the world. Are you inferring that Mayweather and Haye “don’t know anything about boxing” or Flores’ lightning quick speed, powerful jab, or sound boxing skills? And are you further inferring that YOU have greater boxing judgement that these proven world champs? And since this article was posted by boxing expert, Marc Abrams, who has seen BJ fight in person on numerous occasions, and who has reported and analyzed hundreds of top fights, and even called top bouts in New York, Philadelphia and Atlantic City, are you also inferring that iMarc does not know boxing or is not qualified to render his expert opinion after having known BJ personally, watched him train and develop as a fighter, and after having watched the Flores vs Mcnemar contest? Hmmmm… something doesn’t add up with your faulty logic. And in fact, if anyone were to be labeled “CLASSLESS” I believe the majority of the press who attended the weigh-in between Flores and Mcnemar would pin that title squarely on the forehead of Mcnemar. So here’s the reality check for you: Both I, and the rest of the SANE boxing fans, will defer to the judgement of Floyd Mayweather, David Haye, Marc Abrams and countless others, including the ringside announcer at the fight, over YOURSELF, since these TRUE EXPERTS consider Flores an exceptional athlete who understands the importance of grueling conditioning and the science of the sport. And sometimes that means that your guy ends up on his ass… in the second round… despite his claims that he would be “annihilating” Flores.

Great fight last night! I was in the front row and Flores put on an exhibition of superior conditioning, devastating power and speed. Mcnemar was was not “knocked to the mat easily” because Mcnemar “CHOSE” to (as the novice and uninformed idiot “jkaple” amusingly stated on this comment thread),. In truth, Mcnemar was simply flat-footed, slower and less powerful than his aggressive well-conditioned opponent. He allegedly sustained injuries during the bout and was left with an embarrassing lack of skill or results before the cameras and crowd— after recently head-butting Flores the day before in weigh-ins and delivering unfulfilled promises for a humiliating beat-down of Flores. Congrats to BJ and his classy team, especially his brother, Jeremy, and Don King Promotions. Looking forward to the next fight and a chance to see this team in action again!

  3. That first comment from jkaple should simply read….. love, McNemars wife. The ONLY one that was classless that night. Cursing up a storm as her husband left with the ridiculous amount of CASH he was promised. The only thing wrong with the fight was the amount of money, in cash mind you, that McNemar demanded and got. Maybe McNemars last minute demands or “he wont fight that night” was classless. I think the push scared him. B.J is a champion, in sport and in heart. nuff said.
