George takes out Ballogou on one

In the newest installment of Dibella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing series, Shaun George was slated to face the tough test of Jaffa Ballogou. George was coming off of his career best victory when he stopped former Heavyweight titleholder, Chris Byrd. Ballogou, meanwhile, was hoping to make a strong showing after a disappointing loss to Daniel Judah.

George started the fight in impressive fashion, while Ballogou never really got started to begin with. Right from the opening bell, George was all over Ballogou with an impressive combination of handspeed and power. Starting with rights to the body, George had his opponent up against the ropes. As soon as he went upstairs and began landing hooks up top, the referee kept a close eye on Ballogou, who had not thrown a punch. Finally, at the 1:26 point of the first round, George landed a huge right hand that froze Ballogou unconscious onto the ropes. The referee wisely stepped in to wave the fight off, giving George a TKO victory.

Fast rising heavyweight, Tor Hamer met another victim in Clarence Tillman. Tillman looked intimidating, as he out-weighed Hamer by fifty or so pounds and stood three inches taller, but Hamer had the seasoning and tenacity to overcome such obstacles. He started by working Tillman’s body, and his first punch upstairs, a right hook, sent Tillman crashing hard to the canvas. After beating the count, Hamer was all over him once again, and sent him down with the referee calling it off at 1:44 of the first round.

Sadam Ali of the 2008 United States Olympic team won his second professional fight in impressive fashion as he stopped Ralph Prescott in two rounds. The difference in skill was evident from the outset, as Ali was able to pick his punches and land with very little effort while not getting hit much in return. In the second round, Ali placed more pressure on his opponent, and with a perfect left hook, he sent Prescott crashing to the canvas. The referee waved it off at 1:41 of the round.
Former amateur champion, Will Rosnsky needed little time to stop his opponent James McAvery. In fact, all he needed was 2:43. From the outset, Rosinsky gave McAvery no room to maneuver, and landed combination after combination. The referee mercifully called the bout off after McAvery showed that he was completely outclassed.

In the most entertaining bout of the evening, Luis Del Valle showcased his combination punching over the course of four rounds against Tommy Alencio. The bout featured much back and forth action, but Del Valle’s effective and impressive punching proved too much for Alencio, and the judges awarded him every round of the four round bout.

In a very dull heavyweight encounter, Bedarin Toma took on Josep Rabotte. Rabotte seemed afraid to get hit and was constantly running away, while Toma seemed afraid to throw a punch and basically stood in the center of the ring and posed. Rabotte threw more punches, and the judges credited him with the victory with scores of 38-38, 39-37, 39-37.
