Gerry Penalosa Workout

Guaynabo, P.R.- W.B.O bantamweight Champion Gerry “Fearless” Peñalosa (54-6-2 36KO’s) had an open workout today at the Wilfredo Gómez Gym prior to this Saturday’s championship bout. Peñalosa, who is set to fight Juan Manuel López (24-0 22 KO’s) for the Puerto Rican’s super bantamweight belt of the same organization, shadowed boxed for several minutes before getting on the ring to hit the mitts with his trainer.

The champion and challenger looked sharp in his session hitting the moving targets with fast combinations of up to five and six punches in a row and showing off some sound footwork. He would then proceed to work at the speed bag for several minutes before moving to a jump rope session and abdominal workouts to finish.

The Filipino demonstrated good hand speed and stamina throughout the whole workout, which was fast paced and lasted over an hour.
