Kobari to defend against Moses on January 3rd

It seems that the long mooted WBA Lightweight title defence by Yusuke Kobari 23-2-1(12) against Namibian Paulus Moses 23-0(17) will take place on 3 January in Tokyo.

Also previously mentioned as part of the same bill could be Daniel Santos 32-3-1(23) defending his WBA Light Middleweight title against Nobuhiro Ishida 20-5-2(7). It would be Santos first defence having sensationally claimed the belt by starching Joachim Alcine in July in Canada. Ishida who’s unbeaten since 2004 earned his shot by beating Marco Antonio Avendano on points in September.

With Don King promoting this card along with the one this Friday in China, it looks like King has tapped into the Asian market with these potentially ground breaking moves. Top Rank are looking to follow suit and set up there idea of having a show in Macau.
