Bayamón, P.R.- Juan Manuel “Juanma” López (24-0 22KO’s) weighed in today at 126.2 lbs at the seven day weigh-in prior to his bout with Filipino Gerry “Fearless” Penalosa (53-6-2 36KO’s) for the WBO super bantamweight title. The maximum weigh allowed for the obligatory weigh-in was 128.1 lbs. Penalosa will be weighed-in later today in Los Angeles, California.
Juanma was confident about the outcome of the fight to the point of predicting a knockout if his rival decided to come forward as usual. López did give credit to his rival’s chin but still doesn’t think it will hold up against his powerful straights and hooks.
