Jesus Sanchez’s (9-1, 2 KOs) coach Luis Munoz says all the pressure is on Dennis Ceylan (19-2-2, 8 KOs) ahead of their rematch for the EU Featherweight title on January 19 at the Struer Energi Park in Denmark.

Sanchez recorded a second round knockout win over Ceylan on March 10, a result which shocked the fans in Struer, but came as no surprise to the Spanish Champion and his coach, who are predicting a repeat performance.

“It wasn’t a surprise for us,” says Munoz. “When we accepted the fight, we knew we could win. We have a lot of respect for Dennis and know he is a good fighter, but we knew we could beat him, and we’re confident of doing it again.

“Jesus is stronger than Dennis, and we know from the first fight that it’s possible to knock him out. However, we’ve not prepared for this fight thinking about a knockout. Jesus will be ready to go all twelve rounds, if needed.

“All the pressure is on Ceylan. For him this fight is all or nothing. A defeat would mean the end of his career. He is the favourite and fighting at home, so he has a lot to prove not just to himself but to his fans and promoter as well.”

Munoz insists Sanchez is prepared to upset the odds once again and claim a second victory away from home against the former European Champion.

“We’re 100% ready,” he says. “Jesus is always disciplined and dedicated to training. We are focused exclusively on this fight. We’ve studied our rival, we know our strengths, and we know the best tactics to follow.”

Dina Thorslund tops the bill in Struer, defending her WBO Female World Super Bantamweight title against Alesia Graf, while former European Champion Dennis Ceylan rematches Jesus Sanchez for the EU Featherweight crown.

Oliver Flodin faces Abdul Khattab in a Scandinavian middleweight thriller, heavyweight hope Kem Ljungquist takes on Dominik Musil, Lolenga Mock continues his World title chase against Mateo Damian Veron, Mikkel Nielsen meets Bulgaria’s Angel Emilov, and Adam Bashanov faces Ivan Nikolov.
