WBA Interim Super Featherweight champion Bryan Vasquez stopped Sergio Thompson in 9 rounds at Arena Quequi in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
The title was not on the line and Thompson got stripped for weighing in 3 pounds over the mandated 130 pound limit.
The time of the stoppage was 3:00 of round nine for Vazquez 133 lbs of Costa Rica ans is now 34-1 with 18 knockour. Thompson 130 lbs of Mexico is now 30-4.
Judith Rodriguez scored a 10-round unanimous decision over Salma Canales in a Super Flyweight bout.
Rodriguez won by scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93 and is now 8-7. Canales is 0-10-1.
Ricardo Perez stopped Carlos Ortega in round 9 of their scheduled 12-round minimumweight bout.
Perez scored a knockdown in round three and finished the bout with a booming left hook that sent Ortega to the canvas and the fight was stopped at 44 seconds of round nine.
Perez, 105 lbs is now 7-2 with 6 knockouts. Ortega, 105 lbs is now 10-4-2.
