Fort Worth, TX (October 17, 2017)–Roy Jones Jr. Promotions proudly announces the signing of up and coming prospect and Fort Worth, TX native Edward “Kid” Vazquez to a promotional agreement.

The 22 year old Vazquez is not only coming off of a UD4 victory from September 29th, he also walked away with a promotional agreement with Roy Jones Jr. Promotions.

A love, passion and knowledge of the sport, Vazquez choose to pursue his career at the young age of 8yrs old, leaving his amateur career with a record of 82 victories and only 8 defeats, was a former State Champion, Jr. Olympics semi-finalist and was ranked 5th. The support and guidance from his parents has helped Vazquez remain humbled in what he loves to do and choose boxing over school. He felt that the lesson of life can be taught and learned in a nontraditional way, and here we are with a true warrior at heart.

“This is what I have worked for every single day since I was a young kid.” said Edward. “No one can outwork me! I look forward to giving it my all, and I can’t wait to show my value to Keith Veltre, Roy Jones, Jr. and the rest of RJJ.” Lastly, he stated, “I hope this can be an inspiration to the youngins coming up under me, with hard work and determination anything can be possible.”

As a professional, Vazquez has earned a 3-0-0 record and two of those victories are under the training of Coach Ray Barrera as well as his manager Casey Gutierrez, President of FHG. Youth, initiative, work ethic and his sparring techniques are what bridged the gap for Vazquez and his team to sign the deal and welcome Vazquez to the FHG (Faith, Hope & Gloves) family.

His manager, Casey Gutierrez stated, “Edward is a breath of fresh air. He has an outstanding drive, work ethic, and talent which will fit right in with Roy Jones, Jr. Boxing. At his young age, he has built a considerable following I’m sure will be excited to hear the news of landing with such quality promotion company.
