UNDERCARD WEIGH-IN STORY FROM LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS –Junior-welterweight Victory Ortiz was cool, calm collected and right on target at the weigh-in Friday, just a day after he was target in a potential legal tug-of war that could pit Top Rank against Golden Boy, co-promoters for the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya showdown.
Ortiz (22-1-1, 17 KOs), who jumped from Top Rank to Golden Boy after filing for bankruptcy, was at the mandatory 140 pounds for his undercard bout against Jeffrey Resto (22-2, 13 KOS) of New York at the MGM Grand. Top Ranks Bob Arum has appealed the bankruptcy ruling.
Resto, who will try to take the NABA title from Ortiz, also was at 140.
Also on the undercard scale:
Juan Manuel Lopez (23-0, 21 KOs) of Puerto Rico was 122 pounds for the WBO junior-featherweight fight against Sergio Medina (33-1, 18 KOs) of Argentina. Medina also was at 122.
Daniel Jacobs (12-0, 11 KOs) was 162 pounds for an 8-round super-middleweight fight against Victor Lares (14-3, 3 KOs) of Corpus Christi, Tex. Lares was at 165.
Weights for the non-televised portion of the card;
Philadelphia junior-welterweight Danny Oscar Garcia (9-0, 7 KOs) was 142 pounds for an 8-rounder against Mexican Luis Alfredo Lugo (10-5-1, 5 KOs). Lugo was 138.
Puerto Rican junior-feather Jesus Manuel Rojas (13-0, 10 KOs) was 123 pounds for an 8-rounder against Mexican Jose Angel Beranza (30-14-2, 25 KOs). Beranza was 122.
Cincinnati lightweight Adrien Broner (4-0, 4 KOs) was 132 pounds for a 6-rounder against Scott Furney (3-6-1, 1 KOs) of Pontiac, Mich. Furney was 131.
Dallas junior-feather Roberto Marroquin (4-0, 3 KOs) was 122 for a 6-rounder against Isaac Hidalgo (2-2, 0 KOs) of Tucson. Hidalgo was 121.
Filipino flyweioght Richie Mepranium (14-2-1, 3 KOs) was 113 pounds for a swing bout against Cesar Lopes (20-6, 4 KOs) of El Paso, Tex.
