NOW LIVE ON UFC FIGHT PASS… the new episode of the acclaimed retrospective series Fightography featuring UFC Hall of Famer Dan “The Beast” Severn.

In an exclusive interview, the man who won the UFC 5 tournament, two UFC Superfight titles and the Ultimate Ultimate ‘95 tournament gives his perspective on his legendary match with Royce Gracie at UFC 4.

Despite entering the December 1994 tournament on five days’ notice as a replacement, Severn stormed all the way to the final and was the first man to seriously challenge three time UFC champion Gracie.

Severn has spent the last 21-years maintaining he could have won the fight, if he had only stuck Gracie rather than attempt to submit the BJJ master. In Fightography, Severn maintains he couldn’t bring himself to use bare fists on an exhausted Gracie and that he’s “had to live with that” decision ever since.

Also in the interview, Severn details a crazy indecent where, as a teenager, he travelled to the Soviet Block for what was supposed to be an under 18s wrestling meet. Instead, he found himself faced with a grizzled veteran in a virtual no-holds-barred brawl with a croocked referee.
