When Juan Carlos Gomez announced that he wanted to return to cruiserweight not many people thought he could actually make it. But “The Black Panther” actually weighed in just slightly over 200 lbs. at 91.0 kg for his comeback fight tonight in Dachau, Germany (live on Eurosport). “I’m back! It’s Showtime!”, Gomez proclaimed on the scale. His opponent Adnan Buharalija from Bosnia and Herzegovina was obviously surprised that Gomez made weight and came in at 216 lbs. “I don’t care about my opponent”, said Gomez. “I would even fight him if he was 300 or 400 lbs. I know what I’m capable of – and I know that I will be world cruiserweight champion again! I never lost my title in the ring. So I will take back what’s mine anyways.”

For the co-featured bout of the evening local hero Alexander Petkovic weighed in at 227 lbs. (103.0 kg). “This is my first time in years below 105 kg (230 lbs.)”, says Petkovic. “I feel great and can’t wait to get into the ring.” His opponent Chupaki Chipindi came in at 95.0 kg (209.5 lbs.). “I have seen some of Petkovic’s fights. He is a good boxer but I saw nothing too special about him”, said the man from Tanzania. “I am very well prepared and I am sure that it will be an exciting fight.
