The main event featured two fighters who have both staked a claim for being the most avoided fighter in the boxing game. Winky Wright came into the bout with a record of 51-4-1 with 25KO’s while Paul “The Punisher” Williams came in at 36-1 with 27KO’s. The first round was as anticipated, Winky landed more meaningful punches but Willimams, staying true to form, was much busier. Second round was dominated by Williams and the many combinations he threw and landed. The third round looked like the first round, with Williams more busy and Wright landing some big shots. Winky looked to mix it up a bit more in the fourth and landed more than he had in previous rounds. The fifth round went back to Williams simply due to his punch output. The sixth and seventh rounds seemed to be toss ups. Both fighters were very active and had moments when they were in control.
The eight and ninth rounds went back to Williams. He landed a few big shot that seemed to stun Wrights. Paul blazed out of the corner in the 10th round throwing combo after combo in dominating fashion. He finished the round the same way he started it. THe constant pressure from Arreola paid off in the fourth round with 2:01 left when he dropped McCline after a three punch combination. McCline could not get off of the canvas in time as he was counted out. Arreola stays undefeated improving his record to 27-0 with 24KO’s.
