World Series of Fighting is proud to announce the addition of Cody “Bam Bam” Bollinger (14-2) to the company’s bantamweight roster.

The 22-year-old Californian signed a multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting and is expected to debut for the promotion in early 2014.

“Cody is an extremely talented fighter, and we’re thrilled to have him on board with our company,” World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said. “Cody has recently endured some tough times in his career, but we believe he is highly skilled and has a bright future in front of him. I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish in the World Series of Fighting decagon.”

Despite his young age, Bollinger has been competing professionally for seven years. Bollinger’s father signed a waiver for him to make his professional debut in 2006 at just 15 years old. He’s since built an impressive 14-2 mark, including five wins by submission and another four by knockout.

Most recently, Bollinger was a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” where he defeated Rafael de Freitas to earn his way on to the show. However, he failed to make weight for his next fight with Anthony Gutierrez and was eliminated from the show.

“It is not every day that one finds himself living a dream that turns into a nightmare,” Bollinger wrote in his Revgear Sports blog. I knew heading into the show that this was going to be the hardest weight cut of my career. … I missed weight and have zero excuses about it, I didn’t adjust well enough to the situation I was put in and paid for that tremendously.”

Bollinger will now get a second chance to make a first impression.

“When one dream ends, you make the shift to chase a new one,” Bollinger said.
