READING, PA – Junior middleweight boxer Keenan Collins of Reading made a successful return to the ring with a convincing first round knockout of Allentown’s Jorge Delgado Saturday night at the Sovereign Center’s Reading Eagle Theater in Reading, PA. The six-round scheduled bout headlined King’s Promotions “Fight For Hope”.

The 34-year-old Collins, who raised his record to 13-5 (9 KO) with the win, finished off the 35-year-old Delgado, now 4-10 (2 KO), with a double jab followed by a straight right hand that put him down. Delgado rose, but was deemed unfit to continue by referee Gary Rosato as the bell rang to end the round.

“Wow! It’s been a long time since I felt that right hand,” Collins told the Reading Eagle.

The fight was Collins’ first in a year and a half, and his first win since 2006.

In the night’s co-featured bout, Allentown’s Eliud Torres (now 5-2-2) scored a six-round unanimous decision over Travis “The Animal” Thompson of Pottstown, PA.

Also, a bout between debuting junior lightweights Cesar Gonzales of Reading and Oshahon Omo-Osagie of State College, PA ended in a draw.
