JUNIOR LIGHTWEIGHT JASON SOSA BOXES GEORGI KEVLISHVILI ON JUNE 1 SEMIFINAL AT BALLY’S AC –LIVE ON GFL

Atlantic City, NJ—Junior lightweight prospect Jason Sosa, of Camden, NJ, faces his toughest test as a pro when he takes on Georgi Kevlishvili, of Philadelphia, PA, in the scheduled eight-round semifinal contest on Saturday evening, June 1, in the Grand Ballroom at Bally’s Atlantic City.

Headlining the seven-bout card is a 10-round junior lightweight contest between former world title challenger Teon Kennedy, of Philadelphia, and Carlos Vinan, of Newark, NJ. First fight is 7.30 pm and the show will be streamed live on the internet by www.gofightlive.tv. First fight is 7.30 p.m.

Sosa, 25, is riding high, having knocked out his last three opponents, including a fourth-round knockout over Joseph “Chip” Perez, of East Hartford, CT, in the loser’s backyard at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. Perez was 10-1 at the time.

A pro since 2009, Sosa is 8-1-3, 4 K0s. He is managed and trained by Raul Rivas.

Kevlishvili, 31, is originally from Gori, Georgia, in the former Soviet Union. His 12-5 record includes three knockouts. The combined records Kevlishvili’s last seven opponents was 70-3-1 when he fought them.

His best win, since migrating to the United States, was a six-round decision over Anthony Flores, of Philadelphia, in 2011.

In his last fight March 15 at the Valley Forge Casino in Valley Forge, PA, Kevlishvilli dropped an eight-round decision to Pennsylvania State lightweight champion Naim Nelson, of Philadelphia.

Sosa and Kevlishvili each have been stopped once.

Five preliminary fights complete the card.
