Avalos decisions Francisco

Chris Avalos scored a ten round unanimous decision over Drian Francisco in Super Bantamweight bout at the Texas Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

It was a competitive bout with Avalos having a nice first round working behind the jab. Francisco did well with the uppercut as he came forward and even lunged in with punches. Avalos won the fight with a terrific workrate which came out to more than 100 punches per round. Francisco kept Avalos honest by continuing to land the lead left uppercut. Avalos was just the younger and fresher fighter as he wore Francisco down the stretch.

The punch stats read 256-1043 for Avalos. Francisco landed 143 of his 509 punches.

Avalos, 121 lbs won by scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94 and is now 22-2. Francisco 121 1/2 lbs is now 24-2-1.


In an exciting fight beteen two undefeated Jr. Middleweights, Glen Tapia scored a stoppage after round eight over Abie Han in a scheduled ten round bout.

The action was fast throughout the fight with Tapia landing hard and quick combinations. He got things started with a hard right in round one that drove Han back. He punctuated the round with another hard right. Han had a decent round two as he worked hard on the inside. Tapia continued with the right hands in round three. Tapia started round four with a four punch combination that started swelling around the left eye of Han. Later in round the blood began to flow after a clash of heads. Han had his best moment in round five when he stunned Tapia with a hard body shot.

Tapa bgan tp ut everything together in round seven as he landed a hard right to the top of the head the flew Han in to the ropes which was ruled a knockdown. Han’s face began to look like a sea of red. Tapia continued with a solid round eight. After the round, the ringside doctor believed that Han was bleedong too much and taking too many shots and the fight was stopped.

Tapia, 154 lbs of Passaic, NJ is now 19-0 with 11 knockouts. Han, 154 lbs of El Paso, TC is now 19-1
