Bobby D Presents Signs Top Rising Tijuana Prospect Kenia Enriquez!
(San Diego, CA) – California Hall of Fame promoter Bobby DePhilippis and his company Bobby D Presents recently inked rising female Tijuana prospect Kenia Enriquez to an exclusive promotional agreement. The undefeated Enriquez (7-0,
Kenia Enriquez
4 KOs) is considered the best female fighter out of Tijuana since the “Aztec Princess” Jackie Nava. With Nava recently taking on the challenge of motherhood head on, many see the nineteen-year-old Kenia as the next female superstar of the region.
With over 80 amateur fights and a bronze medal in the Mexican Nationals in her last year as an amateur in 2011, Enriquez is known for her fan-friendly boxer/puncher style and killer instinct. Enriquez is presently ranked as the #13 flyweight in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
“She’s extremely skilled and seems to hit very hard,” DePhilippis stated. “I’ve been keeping my eye on her since she went pro last year and when her Tijuana promoter Guillermo Mayen asked me to partner up with him in her career, I jumped at the chance. I think she is a future world champion.”
DePhilippis mentioned he looks to bring her stateside later this year or early in 2014.
Enriquez is slated to headline the second installment of Mayen Promotions’ all-female fight card programmed for Wednesday, October 23rd. In last year’s event, Enriquez defeated Carol Castro via second round knockout.
It is rumored that Enriquez will face former title challenger Maricela “Baby” Quintero (11-4-1) in her next fight.
