Sammy Vasquez won a 10-round unanimous decision over Emmanuel Lartey in a Welterweight bout at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Vasquez, 146 1/4 lbs won by scores of 100-90 and 99-91 twice and is now 18-0. Lartey, 146 1/2 lbs is now 16-3-1.
Craig Baker scored a stunning 2nd round stoppage over world rated Light Heavyweight Humberto Savingne in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds.
Baker landed a big uppercut in the middle of a flurry that sent Savigne face-first to the canvas. Savigne got to his feet but staggered all over the ring and the bout was stopped at 1:51 of round two.
Baker, 174 lbs of Baytown, TX is now 16-0 with 12 knockouts. Savigne, 176 lbs of Guantanamo, CUB is 12-2-1.
Claudio Marrero win an 8-round unanimous decision over Orlando Rizo in a Featherweight bout.
Marrero dropped Rizo in round two from straight left. Marrero scored two knockdowns in round three from a combination and then again froma perfect left. Marrero dropped Rizo in round five from a straight left. Rizo’s right was cut in round eight.
Marrero, 126 1/4 lbs of Santo Domingo, DR won by scores of 80-68, 78-70 and 78-71 and is now 18-1. Rizo, 126 lbs of Managua, NIC is now 18-6.
