Avanesyan decisions Mosley; defends Interim Welterweight title
David Avanesyan retained the WBA Interim Welterweight title over future Hall of Famer, Shane Mosley at The Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
In round ten, Mosley was deducted a point for low blows.
Avanesyan, 146 lbs of Pyatigorsk, RUS won by scores of 117-110 twice and 114-113 and is now 22-1-1. Mosley, 146 lbs of Pomona, CA is 49-10-1.
Shane Mosley Jr. won a 6-round majority decision over Roberto Yong in a at-times entertaining middleweight bout.
Mosley Jr. hurt Yong in the final round with a hard right. He took some hard rights, but went on to win by scores of 59-55, 58-56 & 57-57.
Mosley, 162 3/4 lbs is now 7-1. Yong, 160 1/2 lbs of Phoenix, AZ is 5-8-2.
Dimar Ortuz stopped Ricardo Campillo in round six of a scheduled 8-round Light Heavyweight bout.
Campillo had swelling on the left side od his face in round one. In round two, Campillo started to bleed above his left eye from a clash of heads. In round three, Campillo’s nose began to bleed.
In round six, Ortuz landed a right hook to the head that rocked Campillo to the ropes. Ortuz landed a few more flush shots and the bout was stopped at 25 seconds.
