AUDIO: Canelo Alvarez New York City Media Roundtable for Gennadiy Golovkin 3 fight
MONTREAL (June 27, 2022) – World Boxing Council (WBC) No. 1 contender Kim Clavel (15-0, 3 KOs) will finally face WBC Flyweight World Champion Yesenia Gomez (19-5-3, 6 KOs), who will defend her world title belt for the fifth time, on Friday, July 29, at the Cabaret of Montreal Casino, headlining “IRRESISTIBLES,” co-promoted by Groupe Yvon Michelle (GYM)/ Probellum, presented by Mise-O-Jeu.
Gomez vs. Clavel has been postponed three times, which has naturally increased tensions between the two fighters, based on their social media posts. The fight was always considered potentially spectacular and intense, but now their emotions are peaking with both accusing the other for having delayed the confrontation.
Brilliantly talented Probellum representative, Artur “The Chechen Wolf” Biyarslanov (10-0, 8 KOs), will be showcased in the co-featured event on this prestigious evening. A 2015 Pan American Games gold medalist in Toronto, as well as a Canadian representative at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Biyarslanov plans to add a third consecutive knockout to his record against Burkina Faso-native Issouf Kinda (18-5, 7KO), fighting out of the Bronx (NY).
Montreal favorite Caroline Veyre will make her long anticipated professional debut after her remarkable amateur career. A pillar of the Canadian boxing team since 2013, Caroline captured gold at the 2015 Pan American Games, and she represented Canada at the 2020 Tokyo 2020. Veyre has everything to become a big star of international pro boxing.
“IRRESISTIBLES” will also be an opportunity to appreciate several young and talented boxers who represent the future of Canadian boxing. Kickboxing superstar Jonathan Di Bella (1-0, 0 KOs) will be in his second pro boxing match against Mexican Jesus Velazquez (3-2, 2 KOs). Gifted Eric Basran, of Vancouver (2-0, 1 KO), will meet Mexican challenger Juan Carlos Garcia (4-2, 0 KOs), and young Montrealer Derek Pomerleau (2-0, 2 KOs) will be fighting for his third straight KO versus his Mexican opponent, Marcos Luna (1-1, 0 KOs).
Clavel competed in her last international competition in 2017 as a member of Canada’s National Team in Honduras. In her first world championship fight on July 29th, she will be surrounded by three boxers who were her teammates at that same time. Biyarslanov, Basran and Veyre also wore Canadian colors at this tournament, additional evidence of the exceptional talent in the GYM.

| Jesse Rodriguez has signed an extension to his long-term promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. Rodriguez put pen to paper following his sensational stoppage win over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai at the Tech Port Arena in his San Antonio hometown on Saturday night; thrilling his home crowd with an imperious performance from opening bell to the blistering barrage that ended matters in the eighth round. The 22 year old phenom was crowned the youngest World champion in the sport in February when he landed the WBC strap as a late replacement in San Diego against Mexican king Carlos Cuadras and fighting at home for the first time in four years, and that victory, coupled with his destruction of Thai legend Rungvisai, puts ‘Bam’ firmly in the early discussion for fighter of the year – and he’s ready to push on and collect more titles in the second half of the year. “I am delighted to sign with Eddie and Matchroom and so excited for the future,” said Rodriguez. “Last night was the best night of my career so far, beating a great fighter like Rungvisai in my hometown – but it’s only the beginning and there’s so much more that I can achieve. “I was so happy because there was a lot of people doubting me before last night saying that I shouldn’t be at 115lbs and that Rungvisai was going to KO me. So, for me to stop him, that’s a big statement. He has boxed the very best at Super-Flyweight and has not been stopped since his first two fights so that says a lot about me. “I knew I could stop him, I said so in the build-up so to do it, I’m very happy. He packs a punch, I knew that and I could feel it, so I was glad to get him out of there. “We will talk as a team, but I want to keep coming home to San Antonio. I hope everyone that came enjoyed the show, it means everything to me for my city to show out. “The plan has been to go to 112lbs and win a title there but I’m open to fighting anyone, I want to keep improving and fighting the best. Every fighter wants to be on that pound-for-pound list, and you get there by fighting the best and beating them.” “I am very happy to extend our promotional contract with Eddie and Matchroom,” said trainer and manager Robert Garcia. “Mr Honda’s Teiken Promotions and Matchroom together have done a great job. “I want to thank Mr. Honda for being there since day one and believing in Jesse’s abilities. I also want to thank Eddie and Matchroom for believing in Jesse and giving us the opportunity to showcase Jesse’s talent. Together we are going to do great things with Bam.” “I am delighted to see Jesse commit his future to Matchroom and DAZN,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “As I said in the ring last night – superstar. That’s all you need to know about this kid – he is a must-watch talent and that’s live in person or live on DAZN, you have to watch him perform. “The options for Jesse are endless from 108lbs to 115lbs, and with Matchroom and Robert Garcia behind him, we’re going to be able to showcase this sensational fighter on the biggest platforms. “Last night he had his hometown fans on their feet, and we want him to grow into a massive star on his own doorstep, but make no mistake, this young man will grow into a star attraction that all of America will get behind.” |
PICO RIVERA, California (June 27, 2022): Though super bantamweight prospect Nathan Rodriguez has developed an undefeated record of seven wins with six knockouts, all of those victories have been on international territory.
That all changes on Saturday, August 27 when he makes his United States debut in the main event of a MarvNation Promotions card that will be hosted by the City of Pico Rivera. The fight, which will headline a full card of action, will be streamed live on MarvNation’s Official YouTube Channel.
Details regarding the venue will be announced shortly.
Rodriguez, who turns 18 in August, made his professional debut at only 16 years of age back in January of 2021. Since then, he has fought a five times in Costa Rica and two times in Mexico. The 122-pound prodigy is ready to show his hometown fans the progress he’s made since taking the leap into the professional ranks.
“It’s a blessing and an opportunity that I have been waiting for,” said Nathan Rodriguez. “It’s a dream come true to be able to fight in my hometown in front of my family and friends. I have been spent my whole career preparing for this moment. I’ve been fighting in Costa Rica and Mexico because I’m only 17. I hadn’t been able to fight in the United States. But I turn 18 August, so I’ll be ready to put on a great show.”
“There are a lot of people who have been looking forward to this because they have been following Nathan since he started his career,” said Marvin Rodriguez, CEO and Founder of MarvNation Promotions. “They know how talented he is and how much potential he has. I’m also delighted to have the City of Pico Rivera involved in presenting the event. It’s an honor for them to show so much support to Nathan, and we plan on making sure that we do not disappoint on August 27.”

Reading, PA (June 27, 2020)–King’s Promotions is pleased and excited to announce the addition of International Boxing Hall of Famer, trailblazer and boxing icon Christy Martin as the new Director of Operations for the noted promotional company.
“This is a huge addition for King’s Promotions. Christy Martin will add so much to what we have built at King’s Promotions. What Christy brings to the table is endless in what she has done in the sport of boxing both in and out of the ring. In her role, Christy will help with all aspects relating to the boxing end of things, such as helping us identify and sign talent, matchmaking, day-to-day operations and mentorship to all of our fighters. Especially with our talented female fighters such as WBC Super Featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner, Danielle Perkins and undefeated flyweight Leanna Cruz. Also, Christy has established herself as a top promoter in her own right, so we will have access to some of the fighters that she works with, and that will make our roster that much stronger and deeper,” said Marshall Kauffman, CEO of King’s Promotions.
“I am honored to work with Marshall and Kings Promotions. This is a great opportunity for not only me, but for some of the fighters that I have been working with. My company, Christy Martin Promotions will sit idle as I am 100 percent on board with King’s Promotions. Marshall is one of the few promoters that gives female fighters a platform. Hopefully my presence will help inspire not only the great fighters like Alycia, Danielle and Leanna, but all of the fighters under the King’s banner. I have had the ups and downs in my career and personal life, so I feel that I can mentor these young athletes. I have always wanted to stay involved with the sport, and now to join King’s, I can do it at a higher level, and in the process I can take some of the load off of Marshall, and be his right hand,” said Martin.
The first superstar of female boxing, Martin was a 2020 inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, but due the Covid-19 Pandemic, she was enshrined in 2022.
Martin currently has an outstanding book about her life on-sale, which was co-written by renowned writer, Ron Borges

| Josh Kelly (11-1-1, 7 KOs) and Aaron Chalmers (1-0) are set to shine as Wasserman Boxing heads to the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle for a massive night of free-to-air boxing on Saturday July 30, live on Channel 5 in association with William Hill, Numan and Infinitum Entertainment. After a slick stoppage win over Peter Kramer, watched by over 1 million viewers on Channel 5, Sunderland boxer Kelly continues his World Title pursuit as he leads a line up showcasing some of the North East’s brightest boxing prospects. Following a long period out, the elation was clear for Kelly as he impressed on his terrestrial television debut, making light work of his Hungarian opponent at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool. “It was great to be back doing what I love again,” said Kelly. “I was happy to be able to show my power and precision against a strong tough durable 154lb opponent.” Both Super Welterweight and Welterweight divisions are now on notice as ‘PBK’ rebuilds momentum towards the top, with his sights set on big fights at either weight, starting with a North East homecoming in Newcastle. “It’s exciting times – going back up to the North East and being able to be busy again is exactly what I want,” he said. “Staying active and producing more of the same is the main thing now, I’m hungry for more.” Joining Kelly in action will be former Geordie Shore star and MMA fighter Chalmers (1-0) as he looks to build on the experiences of coming through his first professional bout live on Channel 5 on June 17 in Liverpool. “I’m happy with my debut. I thought I handled the pressure and remained calm,” said Chalmers. “I feel like I can still do better. I could have had a higher output in the fight and be a lot more aggressive.” Chalmers will bring with him a huge following as he makes his second pro fight in his beloved hometown of Newcastle. With the cobwebs dusted off, and the pressure of his debut handled with, it is an ideal opportunity for Chalmers to put on a performance and claim a win in front of his jubilant support. “I’m looking forward to fighting in Newcastle, it’s my hometown. I’ve fought there twice before and we’ve managed to sell the place out, the volume was immense and the place was absolutely electric. “The fans can expect more aggression from me in this fight,” he adds. “I was a little hasty on my debut, but a calculated and aggressive fighter is what to expect. I don’t come to go the distance, and if I can get a knockout win in Newcastle I know I’ll blow the roof of the place.” After two hugely entertaining events, Wasserman’s Head of Global Boxing Kalle Sauerland is delighted to be heading to Newcastle to stage another massive night of free-to-air boxing, showcasing local stars and re-establishing the city’s position on Britain’s boxing map. “Newcastle is known for its party atmosphere, and we are immensely excited to provide the entertainment for a crowd who love their boxing on July 30 at the Vertu Motors Arena,” said Sauerland. “They’re passionate about their own, and that’ll be no different when ‘PBK’ Josh Kelly comes back to the North East to make another huge statement on a free-to-air show, live on Channel 5. With crossover star Aaron Chalmers joining the party, no stone will be left unturned as these guys put everything on the line to get the home-crowd roaring. I cannot wait.” Tickets priced £40, £80, £100 and £200 are one sale now and available via www.wassermanboxing.com |
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (June 26, 2022) – The first doubleheader in Massachusetts’ long professional boxing history, “Road 2 Stardom”, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, was a major success last night, at Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, Massachusetts.
All the action was streamed live and exclusively on BXNGTV.com.
“I’m very happy with our show,” Granite Chin president Chris Traietti said. “Any chance to have my guys fighting on the same card, I jump on it. I’m one of most innovative promoters in New England. I like to do different things. Any company needs to evolve and be creative. We experienced doubleheaders in New Hampshire and brought it here (Mass.). It’s very likely that you’ll see Granite Chin doubleheaders on a regular basis. I’m setting the standard!”
In the evening card’s main event, rising welterweight prospect Denzel “Double Impact” Whitley (8-0, 6 KOs) methodically and thoroughly outboxed upset-minded Maycon Oller Da Silva on his way to career win No. 9 without a loss, by way of a one-sided 6-round decision (59-54 X 3).
After a “feeling out” first round, Whitley came out in the second controlling the pace, landing some sweet combinations on his much taller opponent’s head and body. Whitley showed his high ring IQ, poise and solid all-around skills in the third as he started breaking down Silva, who had been dropped only seconds before the end of the second round by a sneaky right. Whitley’s dominance continued, whether he counter punched or led, right to the end of the fight. Whitley, who was unmarked, won all six rounds on the three judges’ scorecards.
Billed as a potential Fight of the Night, the co-featured event more than lived up to its pre-fight billing, as Bryan “Mex” Urday (2-1, 0 KOs) and “Nasty” Nate Balakin (3-1, 1 KO) stood toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring, trading punishing shots from the opening bell to the end. Urday seemed to take control in the fourth when he clipped Balakin with an overhand right that temporarily turned the tide, but the equally tough Balakin came back strong in the same frame.
The back-and-forth momentum continued as both fighters left everything in the ring, somehow neither fighter showing signs of tiring, and Urday was awarded a 6-round unanimous decision (59-55, 58-56 X 2) for the vacant Massachusetts Welterweight Championship.
(L-R) Nate Balakin and new Mas. Welterweight champion Bryan Urday were in the Fight of the Night
Constantly developing welterweight Josniel “TG” Castro (9-0, 7 KOs) blasted out Bryan Goldsby (5-17) in the opening round, hurting Goldsby with each punch he connected with until he ended the bout a little more than one minute into round one. Goldsby landed on the mat and referee Tom Clark had seen enough.
Welterweight Nicholas “Saint Nick” Molina (10-0, 4 KOs) kept his unblemished record intact with a stunning second-round stoppage of Argentinian Jose “El Chino” Aubel (8-11, 7 KOs). Aubel started clowning around in the ring and Molina made him pay for it almost immediately, snapping a straight right that sent Aubel to the canvas. Referee Melissa Kelley stopped the fight after looking in Aubel’s eyes.
2020 New England Golden Gloves Champion David Ribeiro (1-0, 1 KO) had an impressive pro debut, dropping welterweight Rakim Johnson four times en route to a second-round technical knockout. Fighting out of the City of Champions, Brockton (MA), Ribeiro displayed his full arsenal, effectively using both hands from various angles to deck Johnson three times in the opening round, once in the second, after which referee Tom Clark waved off the fight.
In a rematch of a fight last November, Julien “Black Dragon” Baptiste (4-2, 2 KOs) avenged a loss by 4-round split decision, taking a 6-round unanimous decision in a very competitive match. Neither fighter was hurt in a fight that was difficult to score due to its on-and-off action.
The first fight of the evening card produced an upset as DeWayne Wisdom (8-61, 3 KOs) won for the first time since 2017, snapping a 25-fight losing streak, by stopping junior middleweight Rob “The Golden Child” Nolette (1-2, 1 KO) in the second round. Wisdom caught Nolette with a good right and Nolette hit the deck as referee Clark halted the fight.
Sumpter brothers shine on matinee card
Steve Sumpter (R) headlined his first show yesterday
Fighting in his first main event, as well as his first scheduled 8-rounder, super middleweight Steve Sumpter (6-0, 6 KOs) needed rounds but opponent Manny “Shake Em’ Up” Woods (17-17-1, 6 KOs) didn’t cooperate as Sumpter took Woods’ soul with some masterful boxing and power punching. Woods went down twice in the second, once in the third, and referee Paul Casey ended the fight in the fourth with Sumpter pounding Woods on the ropes.
Hometown favorite Raphael Torres (1-0, 1 KO), fighting out of Framingham, destroyed cruiserweight Igor Pessoa (0-2) in the co-featured event. Torres damaged Pessoa with a strong right to the temple, putting him on the canvas, and Pessoa never really recovered. Seconds later, Torres connected with a right to the top of the head, Pessoa went down again, and counted out midway through the opening round.
Cruiserweight Scott “Bombz” Lampert (3-5, 2 KOs) spotted his opponent Drew “Hard Body” Nolan (0-5) 14 pounds, but their weight disparity didn’t matter as Lampert won a 4-round unanimous decision in an old-fashioned brawl.
Florida light heavyweight Carlos Arredondo (3-0, 3 KOs) pounded Michael Medeiros (0-2), who hit the deck from an overhand right that put Medeiros down in round one, and out for good in round two for a technical knockout.
Undefeated Gabriel “Menace” Morales (4-0, 2 KOs) certainly lived up to his nickname, throwing crisp combinations in bunches against Issac Haynes (0-2). Sixteen unanswered punches, mostly to the body, nearly ended the fight in the opening round, but Haynes survived, at least until the following round, in which Morales landed six head shots resulting in referee Casey jumping in to stop the fight.
Heavyweight hopeful Quintin Sumpter (5-0, 4 KOs) – Steve’s older brother – outclassed journeyman Tracey “The Titan” Johnson (4-11-6, 0 KOs), dropping Johnson with a right hook at the end of round one. Sumpter broke through Johnson’s high peekaboo-like defense and in the fourth round of this entertaining bout, Sumpter blasted Johnson with a powerful right that hurt Johnson and referee Marcel Varela immediately waved off the fight for a 2nd round TKO victory for the continually improving Sumpter.
Flying out his corner like he was shot out of a cannon, junior middleweight Luke Iannuccilli (2-0, 2 KOs) fired punches from all angles, trapping Robert Bricks (0-11) on the ropes right off the opening bell, unloading a barrage of sizzling, rapid-fire punches until Bricks moved. But Iannuccilli caught him on the ropes again, connecting with some badly intended punches, until Bricks took a knee. Referee Ryan halted the bout at the 56-second mark of round one when he didn’t like how Bricks responded for a technical knockout.
Junior middleweight Anthony “The Gentle Savage” Andreozzi (3-2, 1 KO) opened the doubleheader with a 4-round unanimous decision over veteran Rynell Griffin (8-53-2, 2 KOs) in a spirited fight between dueling southpaws.

Coventry, England – 25th June 2022 – 20-year-old lightweight sensation Adam ‘The Assassin’ Azim took another victory in the very first round with his TKO victory over skillful opposition in Anthony Loffet.
Azim floored Loffet within 35 seconds of the very first bell, after a series of inch-perfect 1-2 combinations, before piling on the pressure with powerful shots and forcing Loffet’s corner to throw in the towel, just 1 minute and 6 seconds into the first round, claiming the WBC Youth Intercontinental Super-Lightweight Championship.
The Assassin has put the public on notice with this stunning stoppage, while also headlining the first card of his career in only his 5th professional fight.
Shane Mcguigan’s claim that Azim is:”the greatest talent he’s ever trained,” is being proved correct and the young showstopper will be hungry to get in the ring again after two stunningly fast victories in his most recent fights.
Adam Azim has now cemented himself as one of the most exciting, talked-about prospects in boxing, and looks to have the potential to reach World Championship glory in his professional-boxing career. There will be a huge number of people watching his career with interest after tonight’s perfect performance.
Sam Eggington def. Przemys?aw Zysk UD 12/12 (119-109, 119-109, 117-111)
Multi-time Fight Of The Year winner Sam Eggington took a clear decision victory over the undefeated Przemys?aw Zysk to win the IBO Super Welterweight Championship.
Eggington pushed hard in the early rounds of the fight to find a way to stop Zysk, landing devastating combinations across the first four rounds of the fight. Eggington looked set for an early night and a stoppage victory but Zysk showed tremendous grit and determination to survive Eggington’s destructive onslaught.
Eggington used his boxing skill in the second half of the fight to win every single round of the final six. Allowing the new IBO World Champion to dominate the all three judges’ scorecards and claim victory. Zysk fought valiantly across all 12 rounds, despite the huge punishment taken early on in the fight, and made all of the last six rounds competitive.
Sam Eggington always leaves the crowd going home happy with his aggressive, hell-for-leather fight style, and did so again tonight with this fluid, intelligent performance. Eggington’s status as IBO Champion may be the key to earning even bigger fights soon.
Dylan Cheema def. Stu Greener PTS 4/4 (39-37)
Coventry’s own Dylan Cheema took a successful first victory among his passionate supporters since his victory at the BOXXER Series in April, moving his professional record to 6-0. Cheema outworked and outbattled a tough, game opponent in Stu Greener, who made the Sikh star fight hard for his victory.
Cheema once again had huge support in the Coventry Skydome from his zealous supporters, with his proud membership of the Punjabi Sikh community attracting followers from across Coventry and across the country.
‘The Natural’ signed with BOXXER after his BOXXER Series victory and will continue to build his young career to the very top of the Lightweight division across BOXXER shows in future.
Karriss Artingstall def. Vaida Masiokaite PTS 6/6 (60-54)
Olympic Bronze medalist and special female Featherweight talent Karriss Artingstall made a successful professional debut that saw her take a shutout victory on the referee’s scorecard over an experienced opponent who’d been in the ring with top talent like Natasha Jonas and Caroline Dubois.
Artingstall didn’t put a foot or a punch wrong across the six rounds of the fight, landing stiff shots and fast combinations from the first to the last bell, dominating her opponent.
The Tokyo 2020 medalist has now experienced a professional fight, without the head guards of amateur boxing, and experienced the process of a professional fight week. She now looks set to soar through the ranks of women’s boxing at 126lbs and find World Championship glory very soon.
Tyler Denny def. River Wilson Bent SD 10/10 (97-93, 96-93, 94-96)
The Coventry Skydome came alive for this 10 round war between passionate rivals Tyler Denny and River Wilson-Bent, whose bad blood only built between this fight and their first that ended in a controversial draw.
Tyler Denny left no question in the minds of the public after this fight however, taking the victory in this close, explosive fight via a split decision on the judge’s scorecards. Tyler Denny can now proudly call himself the English Middleweight Champion.
Denny consistently landed the more damaging shots across the fight, but was especially able to pin Wilson-Bent down in the first half of the fight. River Wilson-Bent had success across the fight, and every single round was competitive, but Tyler Denny took victory, handing Wilson-Bent the first loss of his professional career.
The fight lived up to the expectations that built around it during the fiery exchanges between both men in the lead-up to the competition, and the 10th and final round especially electrifying the crowd and the viewing public, as both men gave absolutely everything until the final bell.
Cori Gibbs def. Carlos Perez PTS 8/8 (79-73)
Former BOXXER Series winner Cori Gibbs returned to the ring for the first time since that tournament victory last November to extend his perfect record to 17-0. Gibbs produced a strong performance against high-quality opposition in Carlos Perez, who came into this fight with a strong winning record and was undefeated in his last four fights. Gibbs won all but one round on the referee’s scorecard and shook off any signs of ringrust after his recent layoff within seconds of the first bell ringing, landing fast combinations while making sure to receive little in return throughout the fight.
Gibbs will now look forward to more impressive fights under the BOXXER banner, first looking to step up to even stronger opposition and challenge for domestic titles against the best Super Lightweights in the UK.
Kaisee Benjamin def. Serge Ambomo PTS 6/6 (60-55)
Former Midlands Area Welterweight Champion Kaisee Benjamin gave a measured, intelligent performance in his six-round victory over a highly experienced opponent in Serge Ambomo. This performance sets Benjamin up well for big fights in future and ended a period of over half a year out of the ring.
Shakiel Thompson def. Bartosz Glowacki PTS 6/6 (60-54)
Tall, powerful Middleweight, and new BOXXER signee, Shakiel Thompson convincingly won every single round in his fight with dangerous opposition in Bartosz Glowacki, who had won four of his career victories by stoppage.
Thompson used his natural size and range to dominate the fight on the outside, but also showed the grit and skill to land shots from closer ranges, doing serious damage to Glowacki when he did.
Thompson now looks on to better opposition and exciting opportunities in his new partnership with BOXXER.
Aaron McKenna def. David Benitez TKO 7/8 1:40
Ireland’s Aaron McKenna proved once again why he is one of the hottest prospects in world boxing by moving to 15-0 as a professional at only 22 years of age. Mckenna consistently outclassed his opponent across the first six rounds, and produced a whirlwind of powerful shots to force the stoppage victory, becoming the only man to stop Benitez across his 15 professional bouts.
Scott Forrest def. Toni Visic TKO 4/6 1:35
Powerful Cruiserweight and former Team GB amatuer star Scott Forrest took another devastating stoppage victory in only the second fight of his career, moving to 2-0.
Visic’s corner was forced to throw in the towel in the 4th round after a brutal right hand from Forrest sent him tumbling to the canvas. Forrest has already shown serious boxing skill and fierce punch-power in these first two fights, and looks set to continue to do so in future.
Nikita Ababiy remained undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Noe Larios Jr. in a middleweight fight.
Ababiy, 156.6 lbs of Brooklyn, NY won by scores of 78-74 on all cards and is now 12-0. Larios, 156.4 lbs of Ramona, CA is 14-2.
Jesus Martinez won a four-round majority decision over Kevin Monroy in a super bantamweight fight.
In round three, Monroy sent Martinez to the canvas with combination.
Martinez, 120 lbs of Del Rio, MEX won by scores of 39-36, 39-37 and 38-38 and is now 2-0. Monroy, 120.2 lbs of Spring Valley, CA is 1-3.
| Lincoln, RI – With nothing to lose and everything to gain, Texas’ Miranda Reyes earned the biggest win of her young career.
The 20-year-old Reyes (6-1-1) upset four-time world champion and International Women’s Boxing Hall of Famer Jaime “Hurricane” Clampitt Friday night live on BXNG TV at Ballys Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort in the main event of CES Boxing’s Summer Splash, the promotion’s first event at Ballys since 2019. Despite being 26 years younger than Clampitt (23-6-2) with only six pro fights under her belt entering the weekend, Reyes was the aggressor Friday, rebounding from her first career loss in February with a 79-73, 78-74, 78-74 win. Clampitt, who came out of retirement last summer, lost for the first time since 2010, a defeat at the hands of Holly Holm in Albuquerque. The Saskatchewan native and Warwick, RI, resident entered Friday four months removed from a win over regional rival Kim Wabik in February, but the young, hungry Reyes presented a much different challenge. While Wabik was more of a defensive fighter looking for an opportunity to counterpunch, Reyes came out swinging from the opening bell, applying pressure to Clampitt and landed the more damaging punches between the two. Clampitt found her footing in the middle rounds, but her output simply could not match Reyes; the 20-year-old prospect continued to land the cleaner blows on a consistent basis, earning the win decisively on all three scorecards. In the co-main event, hard-hitting Sicilian heavyweight Juiseppe Cusumano (20-4, 18 KOs) earned his first win since November of 2020 and his milestone 20th victory, stopping Brazilian veteran Irineu Beato Costa Junior (19-12) at the 1:20 mark of the opening round of their scheduled eigh-round bout. Friday’s win was especially important for Cusumano, who suffered a tough loss to Daniel Dubois in August, prompting him to move his entire training camp to New England, finding a new home at Champs Boxing & Fitness in Danbury, CT. A leaner, more determined Cusumano made quick of Costa, flattening his opponent with his trademark overhand right, his 10th win under the guidance of CES since signing with the promotion in 2017; Cusumano has now won as many fights in five years with CES as he did in the first seven years of his pro career. Making his Ballys debut, Weymouth, MA, super middleweight Francis Hogan (11-0) faced a tall order in a six-round showdown against Brazilian Rodrigo Lopes Rodrigues (8-3), but cruised to 60-54 unanimous decision win, going the distance for the first time in his pro career. The 6-foot-2 southpaw, fighting for the first time signing a long-term promotional agreement with CES, Hogan stayed busy from the first to final bell, out-working the hard-nosed Rodrigues, who continued to press forward despite the ferocity of Hogan’s jab and looping left hands. Rodrigues had his moments, but Hogan weathered every storm to earn his 11th victory in just under two-and-a-half years since turning pro. The knockout of the night belonged to rising super featherweight prospect Alejandro Paulino (10-0, 9 KOs), who entered the ring at 130 pounds – the lowest weight of his career – and looked as dangerous as ever, stopping Brazilian challenger Aldimar Silva (22-20) at 54 seconds of the opening round of their scheduled six-round bout. Paulino went the distance in his previous fight, surviving a knockdown to beat Andrew Rodgers, but wasted no time disposing of Silva, beating fellow Big Six Boxing Academy stablemate James Maner by one second for the fastest knockout of the night. Maner, the 6-foot-3 southpaw middleweight from Providence, RI, flatted Dan Bunyan (0-2) of New York in 55 seconds in the event’s opening bout. Other Summer Splash results included:Stoughton, MA, heavyweight Sean Bey (6-0, 6 KOs), also fighting out of Big Six, remained unbeaten with a second-round knockout win over Mexican Elder Hernandez Gama (5-4) at the 1:04 mark Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort, located in Lincoln, RI, is the state’s largest gaming and entertainment venue as well as its top tourist and cultural attraction. BROOKLYN, NY (June 20, 2022): WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced over the weekend that he would join the attendees and other dignitaries at this year’s 20th Anniversary Gleason’s Gym Boxing Fantasy Camp in Atlantic City in August. Gleason’s Gym owner Bruce Silverglade added that the WBC President would bring former WBC champions along as his guests; names will be released subsequently.
Bruce said this was wonderful news, truly fitting for this year’s platinum anniversary camp. “Having Mauricio, who’s such a pillar to boxing throughout the world, and someone who’s helped so many people is one of the highest honors. It’s quite humbling,” said Bruce. “Boxing may be the only sport where you train right next to world champions and top contenders, and that’s often true at Gleason’s. And, for the Fantasy Camp, we guarantee it for four straight days,“ he continued.
Mauricio Sulaimán followed his father, José Sulaimán, as WBC President after his father’s passing in 2014.
During his time as head of the organization, Mauricio has been guided by the values and principles impressed upon him by his father over José’s 38-plus-year tenure as WBC chief, such as honesty, responsibility, respect, and loyalty, solidarity, and the invaluable gift of friendship.
Proceeds from Gleason’s Gym Fantasy Camp support the Give A Kid A Dream charity run by Gleason’s Gym, which helps disadvantaged youth in New York. This year, the camp will be held at the Showboat Hotel & Entertainment Center in Atlantic City from August 11 – 14.
The camp includes intensive boxing discussions, training sessions, sparring sessions, and training drills. It gives everyone a chance to learn from world-class trainers, Hall of Fame boxers, and world champions both past and present. It ends with a showcase, the Fantasy Camp sparring show. Men, women, and children are all welcome. No previous boxing experience is necessary. All skill levels, from beginner to veteran, are welcome. More information and media are available online at: https://www.gleasonsgym.com/camp
Bruce Silverglade is available for interviews and comments presently, and throughout this week.

IN DECEMBER 2020, in the majestic surroundings yet eerie silence of Church House in Westminster, ex-amateur superstar Karol Itauma made his professional debut without the thunderous support of his army of followers from Kent.
Echoes instead of cheers provided the backdrop for his introduction to the light heavyweight division as he turned in an impressive display to overcome redoubtable journeyman Lewis van Poetsch via a shutout on the scorecard.
Fast forward 16 months and his last fight, the contrast in sporting environment couldn’t have been more apparent, as Itauma was handed a slot on the blockbuster Fury-Whyte bill at Wembley Stadium.
The Chatham-based Itauma – who returns to the ring at the Copper Box Arena on July 16 – hadn’t even been to Wembley before and he thrust into the spotlight in support of the headline act that attracted a crowd of 94,000 people.
The 21-year-old said he has yet to really process his stark change of circumstances across the short space of time between fights one and seven.
“The crazy thing is I haven’t really taken it all in yet,” reflected the Olympic Youth gold medallist. “For example, I was just concentrating on the job in hand and didn’t let any external factors get to me.
“Obviously when I look back now at some of the photos and videos, I am like ‘wow’, it was crazy.
“It was special for my family because not too many people can say they have boxed at Wembley and, for sure, it was something great.
“In terms of procedure things remained the same, obviously, with the warm-up, walk-out and all that stuff. The occasion though, Tyson Fury boxing in front of 94,000 and being there that night, added a bit extra to it all.
“In terms of pressure, there was no more or anything like that, I was just excited to be there and perform. As soon as we got there I went out and had a look at everything and it was incredible.”
Getting to fight on the biggest stage of all tells a young fighter such as Itauma that anything is possible in this sport as long as wins, popularity and fanbase continue to mount up
“Absolutely, and I feel like the start is believing in it,” he considered. “If you can believe in yourself and know that you can be there, that is the first step of it all. Some people don’t think they can achieve something like that, so straight away they are ruling themselves out.
“It was great to get a taste of it and, since then, I have kept my head down and I’m working hard towards the next one.
“The more steps you take forward, the more opportunities are going to open up and, with that, comes the big occasions. It is just part of the process.”
What Itauma did want on the night was more of a fight. His Polish opponent Michal Ciach succumbed in the second round, leaving the home fighter feeling a little bit short changed.
“I was happy, but during the moment I wasn’t happy because as a fighter I put in a lot and I wanted to be tested. However, my coach sat me down and said it is all a stepping stone and all part of the process of learning.
“It is all about getting better and that occasion was crazy to be a part of, so I am just blessed and grateful for the opportunity. But I know where we are heading and it is about sticking to a plan.”

Vargas, who turned 19 last week, started boxing at age 6 and had his first fight at age 8.
That spawned the aforementioned amateur career that saw him become a 6x Junior Golden Gloves National Champion, Silver Gloves National Champion; 2017 Junior Open Champion; 2017 Western Regional Champion; 2017 Eastern Regional Champion; 2018 USA Junior Boxer of the Year; 2018 Junior Olympics Champion for which he won the Male Boxer of the Tournament; 2018 Eastern Regional Champion and Western Regional Champion.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – June 23, 2022 – SHOWTIME SPORTS® and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that Jake “The Problem Child” Paul will take on longtime nemesis and undefeated pro boxer Tommy “TNT” Fury, and Amanda “Real Deal” Serrano will defend her Unified Featherweight World Title against power-punching Argentine Brenda “La Pumita” Carabajal in co- main events at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, August 6 live on SHOWTIME PPV. Tickets for the twin bill will go on sale Wednesday, June 29 at 11 a.m. ET and can be purchased at www.msg.com.
Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) and Fury (8-0, 4 KOs) will go face-to-face for the first time at a press conference on Wednesday, June 29 at Madison Square Garden to preview their highly anticipated showdown. Serrano (42-2-1, 30 KOs) will also be in attendance while the challenger Carabajal (18-5-1, 9 KOs) will remain in Argentina to focus on her training. The press conference will stream live on the SHOWTIME SPORTS YouTube channel and Jake Paul’s YouTube channel.
Paul and Fury were originally slated to settle their differences in December, but Fury withdrew from the bout because of a medical issue. Paul went on to record a scintillating one-punch knockout of Tyron Woodley who stepped in as a late replacement for a rematch of the pair’s August 2021 clash. While Paul expressed little interest in granting Fury another opportunity, he has since changed his mindset. The Sports Illustrated 2021 Breakout Boxer of the Year wants to punish Fury for withdrawing from their December fight and to silence the naysayers who have questioned the quality of his opposition so far in his young career. The 25-year-old Cleveland native started his pro boxing journey in January 2020 and is facing an opponent in Fury who is a more experienced boxer than he has faced and comes from a renowned boxing family.
“I wasn’t sure I was going to say yes to another potential matchup against Tommy after he pulled out of our matchup last year,” said Paul, who will face Fury in a scheduled eight-round cruiserweight bout. “But ultimately, knocking out a Fury was too appealing to pass up. I’ve proven I am dedicated to boxing in and out of the ring, from promoting fights, championing fighters and fighter pay, to knocking out my opponents. The Furys cannot say the same, they are selfish tossers. On August 6, at the mecca, Madison Square Garden, the world will see why I am on my way to being a world champion. I’m honored to fight under the same lights as some of the greatest professional boxers in history.”
The half-brother of WBC Heavyweight World Champion Tyson Fury, Tommy won four of his first five bouts by stoppage after turning pro in 2018 and most recently dominated a 10-1 opponent in April to capture his eighth win in front of 94,000 fans. Fighting out of Manchester, England, Fury started boxing at 12 years old and won two regional titles, reaching the U.K. national final in 2016.
“The Paul brothers’ boxing charade is about to come to an end once and for all,” Fury said. “I am a boxer. My opponent plays boxing. Jake Paul has been dressed up to look like a boxer against retirees from other sports. On August 6, I will show the world that he does not belong in the ring. Thank you to my promoter Frank Warren, Most Valuable Promotions and SHOWTIME® for letting me permanently shut up Jake Paul. I look forward to headlining Madison Square Garden and knocking out this clown.”
After knocking out British YouTube star AnEsonGib in his boxing debut and defeating former NBA star Nate Robinson with a highlight-reel knockout, Paul made quick work of former MMA champion Ben Askren in April 2021 with a first-round knockout. Paul has since defeated Woodley twice on SHOWTIME PPV – the second time with one of the most devastating knockouts in recent memory in front of a sold-out crowd. Paul is fighting out of Puerto Rico under the tutelage of Danny Smith and B.J. Flores.
After becoming the first female boxer to headline Madison Square Garden in her unforgettable battle against Katie Taylor in April, Serrano is back as the only female boxer to headline MSG twice. She takes on interim WBO Featherweight Champion Carabajal, a battle-tested opponent who has never been knocked out.
Having won titles in every division between 115 and 140 pounds, Serrano, a Puerto Rican southpaw from Brooklyn, holds the Guinness World Record for most women’s boxing world championships (7) won in different weight classes. Her narrow split-decision loss to Taylor in a lightweight championship bout at Madison Square Garden drew a raucous, sold-out crowd of 19,187 who observed Serrano nearly finish Taylor off with a barrage of punches in the fifth round.
“I’m still in shock that I’ll be headlining The World’s Most Famous Arena twice in less than six months,” Serrano said. “Brenda is a very tough opponent and has never been knocked out, so I know I will need to be on my A game to change that. But I promise you, I am not leaving the outcome for the judges to decide. I am looking forward to fighting in front of my hometown crowd again on the biggest stage in the world and giving them the show they deserve.”
Carabajal captured the interim WBO Featherweight World Title beating fellow Argentine Debora Dionicius by majority decision in May. In 2019, Carabajal became the first Argentine female boxer to ever win a world title on American soil when she scored a unanimous decision over Elena Gradinar in Atlantic City, N.J., for the vacant interim WBO Featherweight belt. Born in the small town of Palma Sola in the northern province of Jujuy, Argentina, Carabajal was Argentina’s super featherweight champion from 2015-17 and was a silver medalist in the South American Games. She has faced six world champions and has stepped into the ring against notable names like Gradina, Maria Moderna, Paola Ibarra, Maria Capriolo and Tamara Nunez.
“This is the most important bout of my career,” said the 31-year-old Carabajal. “I know that my opponent is one of the best female boxers in the world but I want to face the best fighters. This chance finds me in my best physical and mental shape, so I’m going to take advantage of it. Nothing is impossible. I dare to dream of becoming world champion again, but this time in the majestic Madison Square Garden.”

| LONDON, JUNE 23 – Thomas Patrick Ward wants to finally shake off his contender status and fight for a world title this year.
The featherweight returns to action on July 17, at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, headlining a Phil Jeffries promotion, looking to preserve his status at the WBA’s No1 ranked fighter. Ward says he was in “cruise control” when defeating Alexis Kabore over 10 rounds at Probellum Throwdown in March and has repeated that he is ready for world title opportunities. The 28-year-old, unbeaten in 33 fights, believes he will be world champion for a “long time” and says it is “outrageous” that there is a logjam at the top of the WBA featherweight division, delaying his chance. Ward said: “I am ranked No1 by the WBA and hopefully the right thing happens, and that’s me being made mandatory and then getting the title shot. “I was No1 contender with the WBO at super bantamweight for a period but the fight with Emanuel Navarette never happened. I always seem to be there of there abouts and never get the opportunity. “But hopefully that changes soon and I believe when I become world champion, I will reign for a long time. I look at other fighters who have had that opportunity and they have not been good enough.” England’s Leigh Wood – a target for another Probellum featherweight, Jazza Dickens – is the WBA ‘regular’ champion, while Leo Santa Cruz holds the ‘Super’ world title. Ward, the leading contender in the division, can’t understand why he’s still waiting for this shot. “Leo Santa Cruz hasn’t defended his title since 2018 and he’s still champion,” he said. “It’s outrageous and you’ve got people like me waiting for an opportunity, it doesn’t make any sense. But whether it be Santa Cruz or Leigh Wood, both good fighters, I just believe that my chance will come. “I’ve been in cruise control in my last few fights but when I’m facing these top fighters, then you will see the very best of me.” SUNNY EDWARDS MAKE WBC PLEA AFTER MARTINEZ NEWS WATCH JACK BATESON PICK UP WBA BELT To keep up to date with the latest news on Ward’s world title pursuit, sign up to our newsletter?or follow Probellum on?Instagram,?Twitter?and?Facebook.??? |

Coventry, England – (June 23, 2022) – “Explosive” was the word Adam Azim used at today’s BOXXER: BREAKTHROUGH media day when asked to describe what fans could expect from him at the Coventry SkyDome Arena this Saturday night, live on Sky Sports.
“People like entertainment and I bring entertainment. You’re going to see more explosive knockouts, you’re going to see more tricks that you haven’t seen before on Saturday night,” he said.
“This is definitely a great step up for me and I’ve been training really hard for this fight. I’m ready to go on Saturday and hopefully it will be the same outcome as my last four fights.”
Azim’s co-headliner Sam Eggington is also looking for a showcase performance.
“Whether my opponent’s come to box like Mayweather or fight like Tyson, I’ve done everything I can in the gym to make sure I get the win. Fingers crossed this can be the fight to push me onto very big things,” he said.
Further quotes from today’s media day:
Karriss Artingstall on making professional debut: “I can’t wait to get going now. Day in, day out I get in the ring, I get punched and I punch people so I’m used to that kind of stuff. It’s all the little things outside of that that I need to get used to now. Like fighting in front of a big home audience, I’ve never really done that before.”
Lauren Price on Karriss: “Relax and enjoy it. I know she’s trained 100%, she’s absolutely flying. Watched her on the pads this week and it’s the best I’ve ever seen her.”
Dylan Cheema: “I’ve got to be on my game. I’ve got to be sharp. I’m fit and I’m strong so that’s all going to show in the ring on Saturday night. But I can’t afford to drop a round, I’ve got to be on my game for the duration of the fight.”
Cori Gibbs: “You’re going to see a lot more of me in this fight. I’m a lot better when I’m relaxed, and I was under pressure to win right away in the BOXXER Series. Now you’re going to see a more relaxed Cori Gibbs, and a better Cori Gibbs. All my skills, all my power, you’ll be able to see a lot more and I can’t wait.”
Scott Forrest: “Cruiserweight is a big division right now, especially domestically. My debut was just to feel the difference between fighting amateur and professional. My debut opponent had only been stopped four times and had fought a lot of big heavyweights, but I got into my groove and made it my fight, and that’s what I’m here to do on Saturday.”
Ben Shalom on Azim: “He just wants to get in there and fight. He feels no pressure and is obsessed with fighting. That gives me the confidence that he’s going to go all the way.”
Ben Shalom on Karriss: “She has got something about her. She’s special and I think she’s going to light up the professional ranks. I think she’s going to be knocking people out. Savannah Marshall does it, but very few women get stoppages in professional fights and I think Karriss Artingstall can be one of them.”
JASON CUNNINGHAM BELIEVES his confidence is at such a level that he can be optimistic over the prospect of world title success if he can overcome Zolani Tete on July 2.
European champion Cunningham takes on two-weight world title winner Tete at the OVO Arena, Wembley on a bumper card also featuring Joe Joyce in heavyweight action against Christian Hammer, Nathan Heaney defending his IBO International middleweight belt against Nizar Trimech and young lightweight star Mark Chamberlain bidding for a first title success against Marc Vidal for the IBF European championship.
Cunningham, 31-6 (7 KOs) and unbeaten as a super bantamweight, will enter the ring against the South African superstar feeling that he belongs in such company thanks to a self belief he has accumulated over a distinguished career where the ups have far outweighed the downs in recent years and he is now winning the plaudits he deserves.
In his last fight in April, the first in his promotional alliance with Frank Warren, he completely overwhelmed an unbeaten challenger to his European crown in Terry Le Couviour. The Frenchman was systematically chopped down to the body right from the off and probably the only surprise was it lasted until round six.
Even then the 32-year-old still picked a hole in his performance.
“I am happy with it, although there was one round where I thought I got a little bit complacent, but it was because I was having it all my own way really.
“I need to be on it at this level, I can’t afford any little slip-ups or lapses against Tete,” added the Iceman, who now exudes the aura of a champion as he sets about his work.
“I feel it and it is confidence. Up until you get to the point of a major title you are always questioning yourself. Then, when you get these wins, you think ‘I am good enough to fight for a world title and good enough to be a world champion’.
“I have got that confidence and that aura, 100%, and obviously it is showing in performances. It has been a brilliant year in total and I just feel the time is right now. It is my time, I am taking that confidence into the Tete fight and I truly believe I am going to beat him.
Cunningham revealed that a match with Tete didn’t come totally out of the blue and he considers the 29-4 (22 KOs) man as a clear and present danger, who will only serve to increase his own stock by confronting.
“It had been mooted a few times. I love a challenge and it is a fight I will get credit for, that is what I thought initially. He is a name, he has been over to these shores before, he has chinned Paul Butler and I thought this is the chance to prove how good I am, also to myself.
“I know he has been inactive for the last couple of years but, still, he has been there and he has done it at multiple weights. So, yeah, I have definitely got the bit between my teeth for this fight and I just think the timing is right.
“The time is now really, if I want to be world champion I need to beat Tete, simple as that.
“To have a scalp like that on your record… I just can’t wait really, I can’t wait for this fight and also to share the ring with him as well. Obviously the respect is there for what he has done but, at the same time, I am coming from a different angle where he is in my way and stopping me from getting to that next level and pushing for a world title.”
Tickets for ‘High Stakes’ at the OVO Arena, Wembley on Saturday 2 July are on sale now priced from £55 and available from AXS.com and Ticketmaster.co.uk.
‘High Stakes’ on Saturday, 2 July at the OVO Arena also includes leading heavyweight contender Joe Joyce taking on Christian Hammer for the WBO International and WBC Silver titles.
Callum Johnson fights Igor Mikhalkin for the WBC Silver light heavyweight title and Stoke favourite Nathan Heaney will make a defence of his IBO International middleweight championship against Nizar Trimech. Mark Chamberlain will fight Marc Videl with the IBF European lightweight title at stake
Wycombe super lightweight Henry Turner and Bexley welterweight Micky Burke jr will fight over six rounds, with Ashford cruiserweight Arnold Obidai having his second pro fight over four. Thetford cruiserweight Tommy Fletcher will make his professional debut in a four-round fight having recently signed to Frank Warren and Queensberry.

| LONDON, JUNE 23 – Sunny Edwards hopes the collapse of Julio Cesar Martinez’s latest title defence does not prevent the “biggest fight in the flyweight division” from happening.
‘Showtime’ has confirmed he is “aggressively” chasing a fight with the Mexican and is keeping his fingers crossed that Martinez retains his WBC belt, despite pulling out of a fight with interim champion McWilliams Arroyo through illness. Edwards, who owns the IBF crown, has made it clear that he wants a unification showdown with Martinez and hoped a win for ‘El Rey’ in Texas on Saturday night, would open the door for their fight later in the year. But Martinez, who had pulled out of a fight with Arroyo twice before, now awaits a ruling from the WBC, to see if he will retain his title and keep alive a huge clash with Edwards for two belts. EDWARDS VS MARTINEZ FIGHT ‘MADE LIVE ON AIR’ WATCH EDWARDS TITLE DEFENCE VS MAMA “I was disappointed to hear the news that Martinez had pulled out the fight and it’s frustrating as we’ve all been waiting for a conclusion to this saga, only for the fight to go down again,” Edwards told Probellum.com. “But I hope Martinez makes the best recovery and I hope he retains his title, to protect the biggest fight in the flyweight division, period. “I also don’t want the fight between Martinez and Arroyo to be stalling our fight, because I’ve been waiting a long time, and hopefully we can get it on.” Edwards not only wants to become a unified champion in the 112lbs division, but he also is determined to stop Martinez’s record against British fighters. “I am aggressively looking to make that fight happen and I am quietly confident it will,” he added. “It is the best fight for the both of us, there is already a backstory and Martinez has got as big a name in the UK, as he does in Mexico. “He’s already beaten Andrew Selby, and been in with my brother Charlie and Jay Harris so I need to stop his Canelo-esque run of beating British fighters!” To keep up to date with the latest news on Edwards’ hopes of landing the Martinez fight, sign up to our newsletter?or follow Probellum on?Instagram,?Twitter?and?Facebook.??? |

BELFAST (June 23, 2022) — Three of Top Rank’s brightest young talents — welterweight Paddy “Real Deal” Donovan, featherweight Kurt Walker, and junior middleweight Kieran Molloy — will return Saturday, Aug. 6, on the Michael Conlan-Miguel Marriaga undercard at The SSE Arena in Belfast.
Donovan will appear in his first scheduled eight-rounder, while Walker and Molloy will see action in separate six-rounders. All three bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+. The ESPN+ stream is also scheduled to include Belfast native Padraig McCrory (13-0, 7 KOs) defending his WBC International Silver super middleweight belt in a 10-rounder versus former world title challenger Marco Antonio Periban (26-5-1, 17 KOs).
Promoted by Top Rank and Conlan Boxing, tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.co.uk.
Donovan (8-0, 6 KOs), from Limerick, Ireland, is trained and managed by former middleweight world champion Andy Lee. The stylish southpaw last fought on the Josh Taylor-Jack Catterall undercard in February, knocking out Miroslav Serban in six rounds. Donovan has been out of action rehabbing a hand injury.
Walker (2-0, 1 KO), from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, turned pro with a first-round knockout on the Taylor-Catterall card, a highly anticipated debut following an amateur run that included a gold medal at the 2019 European Games. He returned April 23 on the Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte undercard at Wembley Stadium, where he won a four-round decision over Stefan Nicolae.
Molloy (1-0, 1 KO), a native of Galway, Ireland, also turned pro on the Taylor-Catterall bill and notched a second-round stoppage over Damian Esquisabel. He was scheduled to fight June 18 on the Artur Beterbiev-Joe Smith Jr. undercard, but his opponent tested positive for COVID-19 during fight week. Molloy signed a professional contract with Top Rank after winning an Irish national title last October.
