BROOKLYN – May 25, 2022 – Five-time world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis, boxing’s hottest young attraction, and unbeaten No.1 ranked contender and mandatory challenger Rolando Romero kicked off fight week Wednesday at a media workout before they square off in the SHOWTIME PPV main event this Saturday, May 28 headlining a Premier Boxing Champions event from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The media workout also featured WBA Middleweight Champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara and hard-hitting Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan, who square off in the co-main event, sensational young star Jesús “Mono” Ramos and Luke Santamaría, who compete in a 10-round super welterweight showdown, plus hard-hitting contender Eduardo Ramírez and Puerto Rico’s Luis Meléndez, who kick off the telecast at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

“It means a lot to be back at Barclays Center. The atmosphere here is incredible. This is a great city. I wouldn’t want to fight anywhere else. I’m grateful to have a great fanbase here and we’re excited.

“I’m not emotional about what ‘Rolly’ is saying. At first I was, but he showed me that he’s just a hype job. He’s trying to hype himself up to get into the fight. It feels like he’s acting fake right now. He’s never been in this position and you can tell.

“We have to wait and see what happens. He’s predicting a first round knockout, but I’m predicting something else. Make sure you buy the PPV or come out if you’re in Brooklyn, because it’s going to be a hell of a fight for sure.

“A lot of fighters are calling each other out but aren’t fighting. He worked his way up to this point and called me out. Now the fight is happening, so it’ll be great to have him on my resume after he talked all that trash.

“The fight is here. I’m sure it’ll be a little tense at the press conference, but not for me. I’m only worrying about getting in there Saturday and handling business.

“I think I’m growing as I continue on this path. I feel as though I’m getting better and better each day. I’m trying to walk like a champion just as much as I fight like a champion. I have two great daughters that I’m trying to raise and I’m trying to be the best person I can be.

“It’s going to be a hell of a fight. I know that it’s going to be fireworks for sure. He’s coming with a lot of power and emotion and I’m coming with my power for sure. I just can’t wait. It’s a big night for boxing.”

ROLANDO ROMERO

“Look at the resume of his fights. He’s faced weight drained guys, U.K. fighters, 122 and 126 pounders, and guys past their prime. Mario Barrios was weight drained in a damn bathtub for eight hours straight. I also thought Isaac Cruz beat him up.

“Davis didn’t show up to sparring twice when we agreed to it, because he’s scared of me. He says I’m scared, but that guy is scared of me.

“This feels really good. It’s about time he gets in the ring with me. I’m built for this moment and this fight. Not everyone is built for this. Davis obviously isn’t built for this. He can’t even say a word. I’m the superstar here.

“I already think I’m pound-for-pound number one, so I definitely should be in that spot after I win on Saturday.

“He’s going to get knocked out in one round. He’s been knocked down in the gym a bunch of times. He gets wobbled, knocked out and all sorts of hurt. I feel bad for him.

“I’m going to go in there and beat him up. That’s my only game plan.

ERISLANDY LARA

“I feel great. I’m very excited to be back fighting in Brooklyn again. This is a great opportunity to perform on a big stage on SHOWTIME PPV.

“My expectation is to go in there and put on a good show. I feel very strong and very prepared and we’ll see what happens in the ring on Saturday.

“Training camp went great. We put in incredible work in the gym day after day. Now I’m excited to be here for fight week.

“I need about two rounds to get familiar with my opponent, then I’ll be able to tell exactly where this fight is going. Once I figure out what I need to do, it’s just about executing.

“My only focus is on this fight Saturday night. If the other champions want to avoid me that’s their problem. I’m taking it one fight at a time.”

GARY O’SULLIVAN

“My layoff doesn’t mean a great deal to me. I’ve sparred three days a week during training camp. So any ring rust has been shaken off in camp.

“I’m looking forward to fighting at Barclays Center. It looks like an amazing atmosphere from everything I’ve seen and it’s going to be an honor to step into the ring.

“The first thing on my mind is beating Lara on Saturday. I’m ready for this opportunity. When I win this fight, I’ll be ready to beat him again in the rematch.

“I wouldn’t say that Lara has fallen off. He’s still a great fighter. He might even be more powerful than he’s been in the past. He sits down on his punches much better now and I think that suits me even better.

“I look forward to sharing the ring with Lara. I’ve got a good chin and I’m a tough man. I’m facing a great boxer who would give anyone trouble. I have to find a way to overcome that.

JESUS RAMOS

“I’m very excited for my first time fighting here in Brooklyn. It’s a big moment for me also because he beat my uncle (Abel Ramos) so I have to get revenge.

“Fighting someone who beat my uncle is some extra motivation for sure. I don’t have anything against him personally. I don’t have any anger toward him. This is a business at the end of the day. He got the nod in that fight, but I’m going to make sure I get the nod Saturday.

“I’m pretty calm as a fighter. I stay composed in there. I won’t let any emotions get the best of me. I’m just going to focus on the game plan.

“I want to show what I can do in there. Santamaria is a good boxer who moves well, so I have to remedy that. I’m going to show everyone I can handle that style.

“Santamaria is smaller than me, so I’m expecting a knockout. I’m a full 154 pounder now and I’m going to show him the difference.

“There are a lot of big fights to be made in this division. I want to get in there with all of the top guys. Eventually, I’m going to be ready for that world title shot.

“I’ve got a lot of family and friends coming here from Arizona and I expect to be able to hear them on Saturday night.”

LUKE SANTAMARIA

“This is very exciting. I’ve always wanted to fight in New York and what better place than at Barclays Center?

“This is a very important fight for me. Even though it’s at a new weight class, it’s still very crucial I get this win. I feel really good at the weight, I had less to cut and I get to eat a little more. I feel very strong.

“I’m planning to go in there and show him the sweet science of boxing. I’m going to take him to school. I’m prepared for anything that’s coming on Saturday.

LAS VEGAS (May 25, 2022) – Past World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global Super Featherweight title challenger Diego “Cuchis” Andrade (14-6-2, 1 KO) has replaced injured Irving “Poderoso” Castillo (12-2, 8 KOs) in the June 2nd championship final of the inaugural “WCBS 4-Man Lightweight Tournament”, against hot prospect and hometown hero Luis “Koreano” Torres (15-0, 10 KOs), at Palenque de la Expo in Obregón, Sonora, Mexico.

Castillo reportedly suffered a torn bicep during training camp.

The inaugural “WCBS 4-Man Lightweight Tournament,” presented by Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions (RJJ Boxing), will headline the June 2nd installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS®. Andrade last fought this past November 10th, in which he won a 10-round decision over Jose Rodriguez Villareal. The consummate boxer, Andrade’s most notable victories to date were decisions against 29-1-2 Jorge “Pilon” Lara and 16-4-1 Alex Reyes.

The 20-year-old Torres has been the tournament favorite since it was announced. He has become a regular fighter on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS with this being his eighth appearance. A gifted all-around boxer, the lefthanded Torres is a former WBC Youth Silver Lightweight Champion, as well as a rising lightweight star.

The Torres vs. Andrade fight, if needed, will have an “overtime” round to declare a winner in the event of a draw upon the conclusion of the scheduled distance. The World Boxing Council (WBC) sanctions the tournament, and the eventual victor will not only be crowned the new WBC Latino Lightweight Champion but also receive a WBC world rating.

There are four other lightweight matches scheduled on this stacked card.

In the co-featured event, Bryan “Zam” Zamarripa (10-1, 3 KOs) takes on his unbeaten countryman, Yair Marmoleto Rojas (7-0-2, 5 KOs), in a schedule 8-round bout.

Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who had a 146-4 record, highlighted by five-Sonora State championship title-winning performances.

HOUSTON, TX (May 25, 2022) – Undefeated super middleweight, David Morrell Jr. (6-0, 5 KOs), responds to David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) and his comments after his fight with David Lemieux this past Saturday on Showtime. An entertainment journalist before catching the boxing bug, Kallen’s life was the inspiration for the 2004 film Against the Ropes, starring Meg Ryan. After a successful career in MMA with organisations such as Bellator and BAMMA, racking up a highly commendable 5-2 record, new horizons beckon for the former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers.

DANIEL DUBOIS IS ready to exert punishment on Trevor Bryan for keeping him waiting for his world title shot.

Dubois goes in with the American champion on June 11 with the WBA world heavyweight championship at stake, fighting for the ultimate right to take on the super champion, which is currently Oleksandr Usyk.

The 24-year-old Dubois has been out of action since August of last year when he fought Joe Cusumano in Cleveland that resulted in a first round stoppage. A vaccination issue prevented him returning to the States to fight again in December and, since this time, taking another fight would have jeopardised his mandatory rights with the WBA.

Bryan was also granted a voluntary defence of his title against Jonathan Guidry in January, which delayed the ambitions of the 17-1 Londoner and left him hard at work in the gym.

“It is about time and I have been waiting patiently for a while,” said the former WBA Interim champion, a belt he won by defeating Bogdan Dinu in June last year. “It has been frustrating so I am glad to get it on, finally.

“I will definitely take it out on him with controlled aggression, that’s what works. I want to go in there to put on a boxing display and make a statement. I have been training pretty much non-stop, I have been in the gym and the other guys have been having fights and I have just been working away, but now it is on and I can’t wait to go out there and show what I am about.”

Dubois insists he carries a much wiser head on his shoulders these days and is an improved version of himself since his only setback against home rival Joe Joyce in 2020. His sparring partner for that fight, unbeaten American heavy Jeremiah Milton, is back in London again and has detected a difference during their sessions of friendly fire.

“Of course, I am getting older and age brings maturity and experience,” reasoned Dubois, who turned professional at the age of 19. “I’ve just got to learn from my mistakes. I’ve got all the experience needed to succeed now and it is up to me to apply it, be myself and go out there and just devastate him.

“We’ve been working on a few key things we’re going to use in the fight and it is all a work in progress. We’ve got a gameplan in mind but it is just about feeling it, really feeling it and I’m gonna get in there and make sure I’m on it this time.”

Working away from home, Dubois adds, is something that excites him, as does fighting on a show promoted by the 90-year-old Don King. Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson are numbered amongst the heavyweight kings promoted by King.

“No pressure, it is in Miami and that is the place to be. I can’t wait to get out there and put on a show. I am not at all fazed by being the away or home fighter, I am just going to take this opportunity with both hands.

“Those names get you buzzing, you hear them and think ‘this guy is ancient and a legend of the game’. Now we are doing business with him, it’s amazing. It is the way this world works.”

New York, NY (May 23, 2022)-Two fighters under the Split-T Management banner scored impressive stoppage victories on Saturday night.

In Las Vegas, 2021 United States Olympian Tiger Johnson stopped Agustin Kucharski in round three of their six-round welterweight bout.

In round one, Kucharski had blood around the right eye.

In round three, Johnson dropped Kucharski twice with the finisher being a right to the head. Kucharski’s corner threw in the towel at 54 seconds.

Johnson, 142.4 lbs of Cleveland, OH is4-0 with three knockouts. Kucharski, 143.2 lbs of Cordoba, ARG is 8-5-1.

In Orlando, Florida, lightweight Joseph Adorno stopped Juan Santiago in the opening round of their eight-round lightweight bout.

Adorno of Allentown, Pennsylvania landed a six-punch combination that was followed up by a crunching left on the jaw that sent Santiago splashing on the canvas.

With the win, Adorno is now 15-1-2 with 13 knockouts.

HAMZAH SHEERAZ WAS honoured by the Boxing Writers’ Club with the prestigious Young Boxer of the Year award this evening in London.

The 22-year-old achievements were acknowledged at the 69th annual dinner at the Savoy Hotel.

Middleweight Hamzah, 15-0 (11 KOs), is the current holder of the WBC International Silver title following his defeat of Jez Smith at Wembley in March, with him previously having won the WBO European title and defended on four occasions at super welterweight.

“I am delighted to see Hamzah following in the footsteps of Daniel Dubois in winning the Young Boxer of the Year award, voted for by the boxing writers,” said promoter Frank Warren.

LAS VEGAS (May 23, 2022) – Former World Super Middleweight Champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) has done everything short of threatening the health of World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol to get a title shot.

Ramirez has won not only one but two title eliminators, both by way of sensational knockout performances, the latest his recent 4th-round stoppage of an outclassed Dominic Boesel (32-3) to officially become the WBA mandatory challenger for Bivol, yet fresh off his impressive decision over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Bivol has said that he’d prefer to fight “Canelo” in a rematch or wait for the winner of next month’s unification fight between Artur Beterbiev and Joe Smith, Jr.

Apparently, Ramirez has become the boogeyman of the light heavyweight division, at least in Bivol’s opinion. After all, Bivol talked the talk for more than a year, claiming he wanted to fight “Zurdo” because it would be a great fight for fans.

“This is my division,” Ramirez proclaimed. “There’s a reason some of these guys have avoided me. They know I’m coming for all the belts and that it’s just a matter of time. Bivol was sent a contract last year, but he avoided fighting me to fight somebody else (Umar Salomov). I’ve been asking for Beterbiev and Smith Jr., but they both know they can’t compete on my level. As I said, it’s only a matter of time until this is proven.

“I’m not sure if he (Bivol) means what he says. He’s had a few opportunities to sign a contract (to fight Ramirez) but he didn’t. If the ‘Canelo’ rematch doesn’t happen, I’ll be in line to take the world championship away from him. We’ll see what my promoter (Golden Boy) comes up with (if a ‘Canelo’ rematch doesn’t happen next for Bivol). I’m just surprised by all the talk and lack of action from Bivol. It’s sad to see but, maybe he mans-up this time.”

BOB ARUM WANTS BIVOL TO FIGHT ZURDO

Even Zurdo’s former promoter, Bob Arum (Top Rank), wants Bivol to fight Zurdo if Canelo Alvarez decides against exercising his rematch clause vs. Bivol. Arum noted that Bivol and Zurdo both fight on DAZN, while the winner of a June 18th unification fight between the other world light heavyweight champions – Artur Beterbiev (WBC & IBF) and Joe Smith, Jr. (WBO) – fights exclusively on ESPN. Arum doesn’t want the Beterbiev-Smith victor to fight Bivol on DAZN.

“So, my suggestion to Bivol is if the Canelo rematch isn’t available,” Arum recently said in and interview, “he should fight Gilberto Ramirez, who is promoted by Golden Boy, and Golden Boy and Eddie Hearn both do their fights on DAZN. So, it shouldn’t be a hard fight to make.”

Zurdo, of course, agreed with Arum: “I am not surprised by Bob’s comments. Bivol can’t just demand what he wants to Top Rank. It just doesn’t work that way. If Canelo doesn’t commit to the rematch, I’m curious what other excuses he (Bivol) might make to avoid me.

“My team and I still have a tremendous amount of respect for Bob and Top Rank. He is one of the greatest promoters and I will always appreciate Bob for giving me an opportunity. Although we disagreed, it doesn’t mean we can’t do good business together down the line. I still cherish all my time with Top Rank and wish nothing but the best for Bob and the Top Rank family.”

Ramirez has won all five of his fights by knockout, displaying vicious body punching, since he moved up to the light heavyweight division in 2019. He simply outclassed Boesel, the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Light Heavyweight World Champion, closing the show with a damaging right hook to the German’s liver.

“I performed as expected,” Ramirez self-evaluated his fight versus Boesel. “I went into camp in great shape and continued to work with my team to become the best version of myself, Body work is something we focused on and I’m glad I was able to display it in a fight.”

The great Joe Louis once said, “They can run but they can’t hide.” Bivol shouldn’t be allowed by the WBA to continue hiding from “Zurdo”.

Atlanta, GA (May 23, 2022) — Jeter Promotions made a strong debut in Atlanta with a terrific nine-bout card in front of a boisterous standing room only crowd at Buckhead Fight Club.

In the main event, Morgan Grigge remained undefeated with a four-round majority decision over Luis Pena. It was a competitive fight that saw Grigge win by scores of 39-37 twice and 38-38.

Jamison Shaw (2-0-1) ran through Marquez Greer in a junior middleweight bout by scoring a Technical Knockout at 1:52 of round one.

Marco Quinones (2-0) stopped Joe Gibson in round one of their junior welterweight bout. The time was 2:40.

Keedric White (2-0_ blew out Ginno Montoya in the opening round of a lightweight contest. The time was 2:35.

Dante Williams (2-0) dropped Justin Richwine twice en-route to a second round stoppage in a heavyweight bout. The time of the stoppage was 2:47.

Joshua Flanagan made a successful pro debut with a second round stoppage over Devante Stevenson in a lightweight bout. Flanagan dropped Stevenson twice before the fight was stopped at 2:43.

In a battle of pro debuting heavyweights, Billy Williams won a four-round unanimous decision over Jeremiah Cotton. Williams dropped Cotton in round two. Williams won by scores of 40-35 twice and 39-36.

In a close fight, Nicky Vittone had to recover from a first round knockdown to win a unanimous decision over Raymond Chacon in a super lightweight bout. The close fight saw Vittone win by scores of 58-55 and 57-56 twice.

Steve Moore dropped Matthew Knauss three times, but Knauss was able to last the distance in their super lightweight contest that saw Moore win by scores of 40-33 twice and 39-34.

Jeter Promotions looks to return to Atlanta later this summer.

CLEVELAND, OH (May 23, 2022) – This past Saturday, former super-flyweight world title challenger Antonio Nieves (20-3,1, 11 KOs), got his career back on track with a stunning unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Filipino prospect, Judy Flores (10-1, 6 KOs). The scheduled 8-round bantamweight bout took place at the Civic Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

From the opening bell Nieves took control as he used his superior boxing skills, inside game, and fast hands to take the lead on the score cards. He continued to pound the body and slowly broke Flores down. In round six, Nieves sent Flores to the canvas with left hook to the body. Flores survived and made it to the final bell. Scorecards read 80-71 and 80-72 twice all in favor for Nieves.

“I had to box smart and work my way inside to land some big shots,” stated Nieves “I had to pressure him down for most of the fight and was able to slowly break him down. Considering my two-year year lay-off, and this was only scheduled for an eight rounder, I wasn’t able to stop him. I’m pleased with my performance and happy to shake off the ring rust. I’m hoping to land a big fight before the summer ends. I’m coming back for a top spot in the division. I’m right back in the gym this week.”

IBF #4, WBA #13, WBO #11 and RING #7 Shohjahon Ergashev says that with the pandemic winding down and professional boxing back in business, it’s his time to take over as one of the sport’s newest stars.

“Of course the pandemic was hard for everyone,” admitted the southpaw Ergashev during a break in training with world-famous trainer Javan SugarHill Steward at the Kronk Gym. “I do believe that I would already be world champion if not for Covid. Nevertheless, I didn’t stop working on myself every day. Even when it was prohibited to just walk the streets, I went jogging at night and used my own gym to work out.”

The 30-year-old Ergashev, known as one of boxing’s hardest punchers, says he’s not expecting any ring rust despite destroying his last four opponents in a total of five rounds, dating back to a first-round body-shot knockout of capable veteran Adrian Estrella on national television in January 2020.

“It’s true I have fought less than five rounds in three years, but I have learned to stay sharp even if my opponents can’t last very long with my punches,” explained Ergashev. “I’m really excited and happy with how my training is going for my next opponent, and I know I will win this fight, because beside all known my strengths, I know that Allah blesses me and I was born to be a winner!”

With boxing back up to speed, Ergashev says the next year will be his to truly shine.

Michael Dutchover (16-2, 10 KOs) advanced to the semifinal round in The Last Chance Tournament with an eight-round split-decision victory over veteran Clarence Booth (21-5, 13 KOs) this past Friday night in Plant City, Florida.

Scorecards read 78-74 and 77-75 for Dutchover and 77-75 for Booth.

The 19-year-old welterweight, fighting out of Victorville, CA, trains at Elite Boxing under the guidance of her coach, Michael Love, who is also serving as her manager. She is a promotional free agent with growing interest in signing her.

Highlighting her USA Boxing career was her gold medal performance at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games.

“I really feel like it’s the right time to turn pro because women’s boxing is taking off,” Guerra explained why she chose now to go pro. “It’s great to see female fighters getting the recognition they deserve. PHILADELPHIA (May 23, 2020)–James Bernadin took an eight-round unanimous Decision over Kenny Robles to capture the NBA Americas Junior Welterweight title in the featured bout at The 2300 Arena.

The exciting four-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Bernadin tried to impose his will by trying to land hard shots. Robles was able to use movement and settle down to land effective combinations. Despite eating some combination punching, Bernadin was able to stalk and land good right hands. In the final minute of the fight, Bernadin landed a big left that hurt Robles. Bernadin opened up a furious barrage of punches in an effort to stop Robles in the final frame, but Robles was able to hang on and get to the final bell.

Bernadin of Lancaster, PA won by scores of 79-73 twice and 78-74 to raise his undefeated mark to 7-0-1. Robles of Staten Island, NY is 9-2.

In the co-feature, Victor Padilla stopped Jesus Perez in round three of their scheduled eight-round lightweight contest.

It looked like it would be a real short evening as he dropped Perez in round one with a short hook. Padilla did end things in round three, when he flicked out a short left hand that put Perez down and the fight was stopped.

Padilla of Philadelphia is 10-0 with nine knockouts. Perez of Culiacan, Mexico is 13-14-1.

Thanjhae Teasley remined undefeated with a four-round majority decision over Jetter Burgos in a welterweight clash.

It was a very competitive match up until Teasley was able to come on strong in the final minute of the fight to pull out the victory by scores of 39-37 twice and 38-38.

Teasley of Bethlehem, PA is 3-0, Burgos of Bronx, NY is 1-1.

James Martin pounded out a four-round unanimous decision over Lukasz Barabasz in a junior middleweight fight.

Martin of Philadelphia won by tallies of 40-36 twice and 39-37 and is now 8-3. Barabasz of Mikolow, Poland is 1-4.

Janibek Alimkhanuly firmly cemented himself as one of the top-middleweights in the world as he captured the WBO Interim Middleweight title with a two-round thrashing of Danny Dignum at Resorts World Las Vegas.

In round one, Alimkhanuly dropped Dignum with a left hand. Round two saw Alimkhanuly land a vicious combination that punctuated by a left to the head and left uppercut that put Dignim flat on his back and the fight was called at 2:11.

Alimkhanuly, 160 lbs of Kazakhstan is now 12-0 with eight knockouts. Dignum, 159 lbs of Essex, ENG is 14-1-1.

“I am in the ring right now, and I want to tell every champion in this weight class, I am here waiting for you. I am asking every champion to come and fight me,” Janibek said. “I told {Dignum} I wish him luck in the future. I think he’s a good fighter. He showed good skills and has a big future.”

Jamaine Ortiz Decisions Jamel Herring

Jamaine Ortiz scored the biggest win of his career as he won a 10-round unanimous decision over former world champion Jamel Herring in a lightweight fight.

Ortiz landed 186 of punches; Herring was 115 of 429.

Ortiz, 135 lbs of Worcester, MA won by scores of 97-93 twice and 96-94 and is now 16-0-1. Herring, 135 lbs of Coram, NY is 21-4.

“I still got a lot of work to do. I’m just growing and going at the pace I’m going. I gotta learn quick. I gotta pick things up a little bit. I’m not afraid of challenges, and I’m here to prove I’m the best to myself, not anyone else,” Ortiz said. “I feel like I could’ve done a lot better, a lot cleaner {of a} performance. I’m hard on myself. I’m always going to be hard on myself. Much respect to a former world champion. That was an achievement I wanted to do in my career.”

Herring said, “He had a better output. I wasn’t tired or anything. He just beat me to the draw…. Jamaine was just the better man. Maybe this is it.”

Tiger Johnson Stops Kucharski in 3

2021 United States Olympian Tiger Johnson stopped Agustin Kucharski in round three of their six-round welterweight bout.

In round one, Kucharski had blood around the right eye.

In round three, Johnson dropped Kucharski twice with the finisher being a right to the head. Kucharski’s corner threw in the towel at 54 seconds.

Johnson, 142.4 lbs of Cleveland, OH is4-0 with three knockouts. Kucharski, 143.2 lbs of Cordoba, ARG is 8-5-1.

Adam Lopez got off the canvas twice to come back and win a eight-round unanimous decision over William Encarnacion in a featherweight bout.

In round one, Encarnacion dropped Lopez with a left hook. In round three, it was a counter right that put Lopez on the canvas.

Lopez, 126.8 lbs of Glendale, CA won by scores of 7-74 twice and 76-74 and is now 16-3. Encarnacion, 126.2 lbs of San Juan de la Manguia, DR is 19-3.

Karlos Balderas won an six-round unanimous decision over Ruben Cervera in a junior lightweight bout.

In round one, Balderas landed a counter left that sent Cervera to the canvas. In round three, it was another left hook that deposited Cervera on the deck.

Balderas, 132 lbs of Santa Maria, CA won by scores of 58-54 twice and 57-55 and is now 13-1. Cervera, 130.8 lbs of Santa Maria, CA is 130-3.

Former world champion Jessie Magdaleno came back from a two-year layoff to win an eight-round unanimous decision over Edy Valencia in a featherweight bout.

Magdaleno, 127.2 lbs of Las Vegas won by scores of 80-72 on all cards and is now 29-1. Valencia, 126.8 lbs of Culican, MEX is 19-7-6.

Duke Ragan remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Victorino Gonzalez in a featherweight bout.

Ragan, 127.6 lbs of Cincinnati, OH won by 40-36 scores on all cards and is now 6-0. Gonzalez, 127 lbs of Pawleys Island, SC is 5-3.

Giovanni Cabrera remained undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Elias Araujo in a lightweight bout.

Cabrera, 135.4 lbs of Chicago, IL won by scores of 79-72, 78-73 and 77-74 and is now 20-0. Araujo, 135.4 lbs of Monte Comlin, ARG is 21-5.
