NEW YORK, (July 29, 2012) In front of a packed house on Saturday night at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, hometown favorite Chris Algieri improved to 15-0-0 (7KO’s), with an excellent performance against tough Texas fighter Raul Tovar in the eight round junior welterweight headliner at “ROCKIN FIGHTS 4”.

Five other bouts were featured at “ROCKIN FIGHTS 4”, all of which had the huge crowd on their feet throughout.

Said Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia, “It was a terrific evening for fight fans in the New York City area. Chris Algieri continues to improve, Cletus Seldin continues to blaze his trail of sensational knockouts and the undercard provided excellent boxing and more fireworks throughout the evening.”

“It was a great way to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and I’m also very happy that fans across the globe were able to watch these fights on the Internet through the Go Fight Live website. ”

Despite being tested by Tovar throughout the bout, Algieri was able to adapt to changes in tactics from the Mission, Texas native and utilize his speed and boxing skills to consistently score points throughout the bout.

Tovar came on strong late in the bout but Algieri maintained his composure and continued to control the action.

Scores at the end of the eight rounds were 78-74 and 77-75 twice. With the hard fought loss, the game Tovar moves to 10-6-1 (4KO’s).

In the co-main event, welterweight slugger Cletus ‘The Hebrew Hammer” Seldin dropped a massive right hand on Jonathan Garcia of San Juan, Puerto Rico, drilling him to the canvas in the first round causing a halt to the bout at the 2:18 mark of the stanza.

With the win, Seldin improved to 8-0-0 with the six stoppages while Garcia fell to 3-3-1 (1KO).

In an eight round New York State Junior Lightweight Title bout, Manny Gonzalez from the Bronx stayed unbeaten with a hard fought performance over Yonkers’ Chazz McDowell. Scores at the end of the bout were 78-71 twice and 77-72 for Gonzalez who improved to 11-0-0 (7KO’s), while McDowell moved to 6-2-0 (1KO).

In a brutal four round slugfest, newcomers Raul Nuncio of Glen Cove, New York and the Bronx’s Enver Halili went to war from the opening bell with a “bombs away” attitude throughout their junior middleweight bout.

At the end of the battle Halili was awarded a majority decision upping his record to 2-0-0 (1KO), while Nuncio moved to 2-1-1 (1KO).

Huntington native Alan Gotay made a splash in his pro debut with a first round knockout of Brooklyn’s Ian James, 2-4-0 (1KO) in a scheduled four round junior welterweight bout.

Popular Hicksville, New York native Anthony Karperis dropped Travis McElhaney of Grand Rapids, Michigan with a massive right hand, earning a first round stoppage in their junior welterweight tilt. Karperis improved to 2-0-0 (1KO) while McElhaney fell to 0-2-0.

Star Boxing has also been very successful over the years in the development of boxers and providing opportunities for their careers. Additionally, included among the major world-class events they have promoted are the Antonio Tarver/Roy Jones Jr. and Antonio Tarver/Bernard Hopkins world title fights.

About the future DeGuardia said, “We’ve got a great team of fighters under the Star Boxing banner, from Algieri and Cletus Seldin along with Manny Gonzalez who’s fighting for the New York State Title on Saturday night to Delvin Rodriguez who was in the 2011 Fight of the Year which we promoted at the Roseland Ballroom. We also have Jason Escalera facing Edwin Rodriguez on HBO at Foxwoods Casino on September 29th. ”

“Additionally we promote world ranked junior middleweight Demetrius Andrade, and heavyweight prospect Joe Hanks along with many other future champions and contenders, so the future looks very bright and we’re looking forward to many more years of promoting world class events.”

Beltran shocks Lundy

ATLANTIC CITY–Raymundo Beltran tarveled cross-country and shocked top-ten ranked Hank Lundy by winning a majority decision on their ten round Lightweight bout at Resorts casino.

The fight was fought at a slow paces with Beltran coming forward while Lundy was reduced to counter punching for the better part of the bout.

The only sustatined action came at the end of round three when the two had a furious exchange with Beltan landed some hard shots that seemedto momentarily rock Lundy. Just before the bell rang, Lundy scored his best punch of the night when he drilled Beltran with a right hand.

That was Lundy’s highlight as Beltran was stead with aggression by backing Lundy up against the ropes. Lundy did show some solid defensive moves but he unable to mount any offense of significance.

Farah Ennis scored a ten round unanimous decision over Richard Pierson in a Super Middleweight bout.

Ennis jabbed and worked the body consistently and and slowly took control of the bout as Pierson was unwilling to engage with the exception of a couple of occasions. Golovkin to defend against Proksa on September 1st at Turning Stone on HBO

(July 26, 2012)—After the recent back injury suffered to former WBO Middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15 KOs), WBA Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20 KOs) will now defend his title against highly regarded Grzegorz Proksa (28-1, 21 KOs) on Saturday night September 1, 2012 as the main event headlining HBO Boxing After Dark.

The 12-round co-feature will showcase former WBO Jr. Middleweight champion, Sergiy “Razor” Dzinziruk (37-1, 23 KOs) of Kiev, Ukraine versus, undefeated heavy handed Puerto Rican contender, Jonathan Gonzalez (15-0, 13 KOs), the current NABO and WBA FEDELATIN Jr. Middleweight champion. The combined record of all four fighters is an astonishing (103-2, 77 KOs).

The doubleheader promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, Arthur Pelullo/Banner Promotions, K2 Promotions, Greg Cohen Promotions, Matchroom Sport, Warrior’s Boxing and Universal Promotions, will take place at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York and will be televised live on HBO BOXING AFTER DARK® beginning at 10:15 p.m. ET/PT.

Golovkin of Kazakhstan and now residing in Stuttgart, Germany, won the silver medal in the 2004 Olympics and had amateur wins over Lucian Bute, Andre Dirrell, Matt Korobov, and Andy Lee. He’s perfect as a professional compiling an astonishing record of 23-0 with twenty coming by way of knockout. He won the WBA Interim Middleweight title with a first round destruction over Milton Nunez (24-4-1, 22 KOs) and captured the full WBA title in this following bout with a third round stoppage over Nilson Tapia (15-3-1, 11 KOs). Golovkin has made three defenses which include wins over former world champion Kassim Ouma (27-8-1, 17 KOs), highly regarded contender LaJuan Simon (23-4-2, 12 KOs), and in his last defense on May 12, 2012, he pounded Makoto Fuchigami (19-7, 10 KOs), stopping him in the third round. Golovkin will be making his highly anticipated debut in the United States.

Said Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, “Gennady trains in America and is committed to fighting here where there have been so many middleweight legends; we’re grateful to HBO for this opportunity to showcase his skills. We strongly feel that he is the BEST middleweight in the world right now and we’re anxious for the world to see that.”

“I’m very excited to face Grzegorz Proksa on September 1st,” said Golovkin. Proksa has never been in the ring with a puncher like me and I’m here to show the world what I’m made of. I’ve wanted to fight in the United States for a long time and look forward to fighting the best middleweights in the world in the near future.”

Proksa of Poland and now residing in Redhill, United Kingdom, has an impressive record of 28-1 with twenty-one knockouts. Proksa exploded onto the world scene when he stopped former IBF Middleweight boss Sebastian Sylvester (34-5-1, 16 KOs) in three rounds. Unfortunately in his next bout, Proksa lost a controversial majority decision to Kerry Hope (17-4, 1 KO). Like a true warrior, Proksa emphatically avenged that defeat to Hope in his last bout, stopping him in round eight of their July 7th bout.

Said Matchroom Sport’s Barry Hearn, “Proksa has waited all his professional life for this opportunity and respects Golovkin for his achievements in the ring. He knows this will be a tough fight for both fighters and is convinced he can emerge victorious in an entertaining contest. Proksa has one loss on his record when he lost his European title in a controversial points decision in a fight where he suffered a terrible cut via an accidental clash of heads. That loss has been avenged via a knockout victory to regain his European crown and he does not intend to suffer a loss in this fight. The fight features the two biggest punchers in the middleweight division and I am convinced that fight will not go the distance. It’s an honor for Proksa to be part of an HBO show and he is excited about winning in the USA on the biggest network for boxing in the world.”

“I have no doubt in my mind that I have the ability to knockout Golovkin,” said Proksa. “My opportunity to showcase my talents to the world has arrived and I’m not going to let it slip away. This will be a difficult fight but I believe in myself to come out victorious and I’m going to bring an aggressive game plan for the fans. I’m coming to the US to impress and take home the title.”

“This is a terrific bout and I believe a new star of the Middleweight division will be born on September 1st”, said Banner Promotions CEO Artie Pelullo. “There are three big Middleweight bouts in a span of a couple of weeks and this fight involves two of the best Middleweights in the world so the stakes could be very big for the winner”

“Pirog will be anxiously awaiting the results of this fight, as he wants his opportunity to fight the winner on HBO. There are many worthy opponents at 160, including Daniel Geale, Sergio Martinez, and Chavez Jr, and he is willing to fight anyone of them, as we believe that he might be the best, and is the biggest puncher at 160.”

Sergiy Dzinziruk has never lost a bout at 154 pounds. At Jr. Middleweight, Dzinziruk defended his WBO world title seven times. Sergiy, a boxer-puncher, will look to end the hype on Gonzalez, and regain his claim as one of the best 154 pound fighters in boxing.

“It’s a fact, that I am unbeatable at Jr. Middleweight, Dzinziruk said. “Gonzalez is a big puncher, but he’s never been in the ring with a superior boxer like me. I will end his unbeaten record and move toward another world title. I will be champion once again real soon.”

Art Pellulo, Dzinziruk’s co-promoter stated, “This will be a classic boxer versus puncher matchup and as we all know, a boxer always beats a puncher. Dzinziruk will be too slick for Gonzalez. Once he wins this fight, we will work to get him another world title shot.” Dziniruk is also co-promoted by Gary Shaw Productions.

Hard-punching knockout artist, Puerto Rican sensation, Jonathan Gonzalez, brings a crowd-pleasing style into the ring. He was a Puerto Rican Olympian, amassing 147 wins as an amateur with only 18 defeats.

Gonzalez is jointly promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, Warriors Boxing and Universal Promotions. He is undefeated as a professional, knocking out his first 13 opponents, and had amassed and amazing amateur record of (132W-18L). Highly ranked Gonzalez will attempt to do what no other fighter has done, beat Sergiy Dzinziruk at Jr. Middleweight.

“Fighting on HBO is a big opportunity for me and my team,” stated Gonzalez. “Gary Shaw has come through on his promise to get me on a worldwide stage to showcase my talent. I always bring excitement to the ring and it won’t be any different when I face Dzinziruk. My goal is to become champion.”

Said Gary Shaw, “Jonathan is highly ranked in all sanctioning organizations, and I’m sure after this fight, he will be considered by all, for a shot at a world title.”

“Gonzalez is another great talent from Puerto Rico that we can all be excited about,” mentioned Warriors Boxing Promotion’s Leon Margules. “Dzinziruk better be ready for a war.”

“Jonathan Gonzalez has something to prove in this fight,” said Javier Bustillo of Universal Promotions. “This is his big opportunity to show the world what he is all about. I expect him to leave everything in the ring on fight night.”

“I want to give a very special thank you to HBO and Ken Hershman for giving us the opportunity to present this great night of boxing in two very important weight divisions,” continued promoter Gary Shaw. “ I believe the real winner of this show will be the fans in attendance and the millions watching on HBO.”

“GCP is thrilled to be a part of this world class event. Bringing a World Championship Boxing event televised by HBO to a World Class venue like Turning Stone is going to be a terrific experience for everyone involved.”

Ticket information to be announced shortly.

‘Randall Bailey Day’ Saturday in Key West

KEY WEST, Fla. (July 23, 2012) – The City of Key West has declared this Saturday as “Randall Bailey Day,” honoring the new International Boxing Federation (“IBF”) Welterweight World Champion Randall “The Knockout King” Bailey.

Now a three-time, two division world champion, Bailey (43-7, 37 KOs) is coming off of a “Knockout of the Year” performance, on June 9, over previously unbeaten Mike Jones (26-1, 19 KOs) for the vacant IBF title.

“This is a great honor,” Bailey said. “My first fight in Key West was in 2006 and since then the people there have been behind me 100 percent. This world championship isn’t just for me; it’s for Key West, too.”

Bailey is scheduled to defend his title on September 8, against former world champion Devon Alexander (23-1, 13 KOs), on Showtime from a site to be determined.

“Randall Bailey Day” is also a celebration of boxing in Key West, which will also honor recently retired world champion Glenn “The Road Warrior” Johnson and Sherman “Tank” Williams, who last month upset Chauncy Welliver in Macau to become the World Boxing Organization (WBO) China & Asia Pacific heavyweight champion. Williams, in fact, proudly calls himself a Bahamian with a Conch punch (Conch is a citizen of Key West).

Bailey, Johnson and Williams have become role models in Key West, where they always attend boxing shows and work with youth at the local Police Athletic League (PAL) facility, as well as the community at large to encourage youngsters to gain respect for discipline and hard work.

Also being honored is Bailey’s manager, Si Stern, and Dave Johnson, who are largely responsible for bringing international boxing recognition to Key West. Stern and Johnson have made financial contributions to provide guests with hot dogs and hamburgers, while Coca-Cola and Budweiser have donated beverages.

“When Dave and I decided to bring pro boxing to Key West some eight years ago,” Stern commented, “it was a dream come true because we knew about the history of boxing in Key West. In the old days, Ernest Hemingway watched Kid Gavilan, the original ‘Kid Chocolate,’ and other Cuban boxers who fought out of Key West. The City of Key West loved our idea and with the help of the Tourist Development Commission (TDC), Key West boxing became a reality and we are delighted that this day has happened. Who could believe our small city and county now has world champions who call Key West their second home?”

Saturday’s festivities (3 p.m. ET start) will include a motorcade escorted by two Key West police cars, two motorcycles and two mounted units. Also part of the motorcade will be a Key West Fire Department pumper truck, 60-passenger Conch Train (donated by Historical Tours of America) for PAL participants and their families, plus additional vehicles for the honorees. The Key West Rotary Club is a sponsor of this event.

Local boxers such as Jimmy Bowman, Eddie Agin, Danny Van Staaden and others will also be on hand.

The celebration culminates at Truman Waterfront, where the honorees will be presented with Honorary Conch status, as well as a proclamation declaring Saturday, July 28, 2012, as “Randall Bailey Day.”

Bute to take on Grachev before Froch rematch

Former IBF Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute will look to try to rebound from his first loss when he takes on undefeated Denis Grachev November 3rd at the Bell Centre in Montreal according to Dan Rafael of espn.com

“I am very happy that this fight is signed,” Bute said. “I can’t wait to see my fans again and to fight in front of them at the Montreal Bell Centre. This fight will be the first step of my goal to re-conquer the IBF super middleweight belt.

“After several talks with Lucian and head trainer Stephan Larouche, we established a complete list of Lucian’s needs and evaluated each opponent in function with such list,” Bedard said. “We stopped looking once we got to Denis Grachev and got the fight signed. Three of his last four opponents were undefeated, and he KO’d two of them. Grachev is the best available boxer that Lucian can fight.”

Said Larouche: “We chose Grachev for his abilities in the ring. I am convinced that his punching power and inside brawler style will be a good test for Lucian.”

Grachev is coming off a big upset win over Ismayl Sillakh andis hoping to ruin Bute’s plans of a rematch with the man who defeated him Carl Froch in March.

Ermine has a well balanced attack in his arsenal and loves to get the fight to the ground where he can apply a submission hold. Ermine won his first fight in a minute when he got the tapout win via choke. Keita has already won a title with XCWFC as he was the former Welterweight Champion, getting second round submission of his own. You have to expect that Keita will be the stronger fighter in the cage as he is naturally the bigger fighter. Look for Keita to try and over power Ermine in the early going. If Ermine can withstand Keita’s advances, he might be able to wear Keita out as the drop in weight class could pose a problem as the fight goes on in the cardio department for Keita. Either way this fight goes, it is for all the marbles and someone is walking away with championship gold. In the co-main event, Ricky Sanderson (0-0) fights Jake Ahenakew (0-1) in a lightweight contenders match. Sanderson is making his debut in this bout against Ahenakew who will have the advantage when it comes to cage time, but has shown that he is susceptible to submissions as he lost his only bout via tapout. This is an even matchup between the two Canadians and a victory for either man will get their career going in the right direction early on and open up more doors for them in the future. Expect both men to be desperate for a victory and throw everything but the kitchen sink at one another. This bout has all the makings of fight of the night, because all the chips are down on the table and both of these men need a win..

– Saturday, July 28, 2012 7:30pm ET featuring Elite 1 MMA – Redemption from the Redball Internet Centre. In the main event, Richard Arsenault (4-2) of Wellington, PE defends his Elite 1 MMA Welterweight Championship against tough challenger Ricky Goodall (9-6). Arsenault is riding a 2-fight win streak and has finished his opponents in all 4 of his wins. A tough draw for any fighter, Arsenault has only lost by decision. The Champion brings heavy hands and a big heart into the cage every time and has become a fan favorite wherever he fights. Goodall is by far the most experienced fighter Arsenault has ever faced and a real threat to his title. Goodall is famous for fighting a who’s who on the Canadian fight scene and never backs away from an opponent. Always a game fighter, Goodall can mix it up with the best of them and prefers to let his hands do the talking in the cage. Goodall is also a strong grappler so this should be a great fight as the champion and challenger both have something to prove. In the co-main event, Nabil “The Thrill” Khatib (11-7) fights Matt MacGrath. Khatib comes into the bout having fought all over the Great White North and looks to claim the #1 Contender’s spot with a victory. Khatib has always been on the cusp of greatness and a victory over the durable McGrath might put him next in line to face the winner of the main event for the title. MacGrath (6-8) is a Bellator veteran and looks to get back in the win column with a victory over the gritty Khatib. MacGrath is a well-rounded fighter who has fought several UFC vets and is not intimidated by anyone. Look for MacGrath to come out swinging early or looking for a takedown and try to get a quick submission. The winner of this bout looks like the next candidate for a title shot.

– Saturday, July 28, 2012 8:00pm ET featuring Sportfight X from the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. In the main event, Daniel O’Brien (1-0) fights Elite XC and Bellator veteran Moyses Gabin (5-4) in a middleweight showdown. O’Brien holds his win via first round TKO and has been gearing up for this bout retooling his arsenal so expect a fighter that is both heavy handed and a strong grappler. Gabin goes into the bout with a very decided experience advantage and has faced much stiffer competition in his career. Look for Gabin to shoot in early on O’Brien early and try and lock up a submission. This fight should be action packed as this is a big step for O’Brien and if he can win it will push his career to the next level. For Gabin, a win here could put him back on the path of Bellator or another international organization. In the co-main event, Stephen Wilhite (2-0) takes on Chad Livingston (6-1) in the lightweight division. Wilhite is a grappling standout who has both victories by choke. He wants to get the fight to the mat as quick as possible and go for the neck. Livingston made a name for himself fighting in his home state of Florida where he won a tourney and became champion for a rising promotion in South Florida. Livingston has great cardio and likes to push the pace for three rounds. These two 155 lb fighters could prove to be the fight of the night as both are hungry, active fighters who always take the fight to their opponent. There shouldn’t be any backing up in this fight. Matt Ward (2-0) is also scheduled to fight Allen Little (0-2) in a middleweight scrap. This bout should present fireworks from the opening bell as Ward likes to throw bombs while looking for opportunities on the ground and Little uses a high reward high risk style of fighting that always makes him a crows favorite. Don’t blink in this bout.

TOTOWA, NJ – Main Events announced today they have officially signed an exclusive promotional contract with Steve “USS” Cunningham. Cunningham who has campaigned most of his professional career as a cruiserweight has decided to move up to the heavyweight division.

Cunningham, 24-4, 12 KO’s, believes Main Events is the perfect counterpart to successfully guide his career, “I am very excited about this new chapter and signing with Main Events. I’m looking forward to working closely with them as we plan my entry into the heavyweight division.” The Philadelphia native added, “It is going to be a welcome change to be fighting close to home again.”

Cunningham, a former Cruiserweight World Champion, explained his decision to step up to the heavyweight division, “Moving to heavyweight has always been a move I knew I would make at some point. After my last fight we sat down and looked at our options: It was either continue at Cruiserweight and go for another world title, but I felt like ‘what’s the point?’ I have been there and done that twice; or I could finally make the move to heavyweight. This felt like the right thing to do.”

Main Events has a successful history of transforming cruiserweights into heavyweight powerhouses, including former Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion Evander Holyfield and top rated Tomasz Adamek.

“Steve Cunningham’s decision to move up to boxing’s top division will make the US heavyweight scene that much more lively and interesting,” said promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events. “At 6’3″ Steve certainly has the frame to carry more weight and gain strength. We look forward to watching Steve test his skills against the best the division has to offer and expect fireworks!”

Campillo (above left) is ranked No. 3 in the world by the IBF. He last boxed Feb. 18 when he lost a controversial 12-round split decision to champion Tavoris Cloud in Corpus Christi, TX. Two years earlier, Campillo lost another 12-round split decision for the WBA belt against Beibut Shumenov in Las Vegas, NV.

A pro since 2002, the 33-year-old Campillo is 21-4-1, 8 K0s. This will mark his third fight in the United States.

Cruz (left) will be making the first defense of his WBC Continental Americas title against Smith.
A pro since 2009, the 25-year-old Cruz is a big attraction in Bethlehem and this will be his third hometown appearance. In addition to his 12-round decision on June 1 against Brewer, he also K0d Doel Carrasquillo, of Lancaster, PA, in six rounds on July 1, 2011, in a temporary tent set up outside the Sands and he also drew a packed house that night of 1,300.

Smith (right) is an aggressive battler from Miami, FL. He has been in with some of the best at 147 and 154 pounds. His 21-4-1 record includes 12 K0s and he has scored wins over Jerome Ellis, Richard Gutierrez and Henry Crawford.

Five additional fights complete the card.

Marquez injures hand; Fight with Vazquez Jr. Postponed

A Hand injury suffered by former world champion Rafael Marquez has postponed his August 4th bout with fellow former world champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr reports Dan Rafael of espn.com

“Rafael Marquez is injured and he will not fight on Aug. 4 because he needs recovery time and we have postponed the show,” said vazquez promoter Peter Rivera. “This happens in boxing. We had the same situation in 2010 when Marquez was going to fight against Juanma Lopez. He suffered an injury and the fight was postponed from September to November.”

Cloud – Pascal postponed due to Pascal hand injury

The much anticipated August 11th IBF Light Heavyweight title bout bout between champion Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascal has been postponed due to a hand injury suffered by Pascal.

“Don (King) called and told us the fight has been postponed but we’re continuing to train,” said Cloud’s trainer Al Bononni from Cloud’s training camp in Ohio.

“It’s disappointing, however, I don’t believe he has a hand injury,” Cloud said. “We believe he was unprepared for the fight on Aug. 11 so he had to use politics and try to maneuver himself out of an ass whipping. I’ll wait for him. It gives me more confidence because I know I got the edge on him and I’m not gonna give up the edge. I’m gonna keep the pressure on him.”

“I just can’t believe he is doing this,” Bonanni said. “I think he has known for some time that he was not fit to fight for whatever reason. He hasn’t fought for (more than a year). We would have just destroyed him. We would have gone through him like (expletive) through a goose. Whether it’s his hand, or his weight, or he has no (expletive), is of no consequence to us. It’s just typical in the life of Tavoris Cloud. We’re always ready and then something comes up.

“We want to reschedule the fight. If he needs 30 days or whatever, we’ll give him the time.”

“(Pascal) has tried hard to fight through it with a cortisone shot and therapy but (Tuesday) morning our doctor, Dr. Francis Fontaine, said he was not giving him medical clearance for the fight,” wrote Pascal’s promoter Yvon Michel

“Jean was in good physical condition, his weight was good, his training camp was excellent and he was on target for his preparation,” Michel said. “He has tried extremely hard to convince us to let him fight believing he could beat Cloud with one hand like he did when he beat Adrian Diaconu with a dislocated shoulder in December 2009 (but) we were not going to let him jeopardize his career taking a fight injured.”

“Tavoris is in great shape and training hard and anxious to fight,” Alan Hopper, King’s spokesman said. “He’s at Don’s camp in Orwell, Ohio, working very hard and ready for this fight. Showtime only called us and told us that the conference call was canceled. But it wasn’t canceled because of any issues with the Cloud side of things.”

“We would have 13-14 weeks in camp by the time of the fight,” Bonanni said. “Our weight is 181 pounds, so we’re in great shape and ready and then we heard Pascal advised that he had injured his hand in training, so he needs to let it mend.”

“We’re going to stick it out in camp and, hopefully, Showtime will be true to their word and deliver this fight,” Bonanni said.

“I learned my lesson,” Cloud said. “I’m keeping the edge this time. I learned from what I’ve been through. I went home for a little while and came back at the beginning of the year, plus I had to change from a short righty (Erdei) to a tall lefty (Campillo). We know how to train now when these fights get postponed. I’m still training, I’ll still go running. I’ll probably go hunting.”

David Price to battle Audley Harrison in all UK showdown

Dan Rafael of espn.com is reporting that an all British heavyweight fight between David Price and Audley Harrison will take place on October 13th in Liverpool, England

“Audley was an inspiration to me when I was younger, someone our amateur squad always looked up to,” Price said at Monday’s news conference in London, which Harrison did not attend, to announce the fight. “(Harrison) called me before Beijing to offer advice, which I’m grateful for, but he’s still getting flattened.”

“I’m happy that the public will get the opportunity to see the next phase of my career develop on BoxNation,” he said. “Frank has sorted out the business outside of the ring for me, and I’ll continue what I do best inside the ring by continuing to win fights and titles that will culminate in the ultimate prize — the world heavyweight crown.

“The next step is Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Liverpool Echo Arena against Audley Harrison, and I look forward to putting on a great show for the BoxNation viewers and fans in attendance.”

“I’m looking forward to joining the new home of TV boxing, BoxNation, to develop who I believe is the most exciting heavyweight talent since Lennox Lewis,” said promoter Frank Maloney. “It will be a battle of the Olympians when he clashes with Harrison in his first fight for BoxNation and a fight he’s looking to make a big statement.”
