Daniel Blancas Makes Ring Return this Friday in Plant City Florida

PLANT CITY, FL (May 20, 2022) – Super middleweight prospect, Daniel Blancas (1-0, 1 KO), returns to the ring tonight, May 20th against pro, Heinrich Coorssen Caceres, who will be making his pro debut. The 4-round bout will take place in Plant City, Florida on the undercard of Chinese Olympian and IBF No. 1 Contender Fanlong Meng, and former two-time light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal. The card is promoted by ProBox Promotions, streamed live on their ProBoxTV App.

“I am always excited to put on a show, and my pro debut lived up to all expectations as I got the knockout,” said Blancas. “I am fighting a man who is looking to shine in his pro debut, so I must be ready for anything he brings to the ring. I am expecting someone who could be a world champion one day, that is the mindset that I’m bringing into the ring. I’m not looking past anyone in this game.”

“Blancas is doing great in the gym and he’s had a wonderful training camp in Tampa,” stated Tim VanNewhouse, Blancas’ Manager. “I have no doubt that he will shine tonight and that he will continue to set the standard of promising young pros being groomed and developed under our stable.”

Blancas, who is well over six-feet tall, comfortably made the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds as he tipped the scale at 167 lbs. The 21-year-old Blancas, nicknamed “Iceman” looks to show the world why he was such a hotly talked about prospect in the amateurs.

“I want to be the best, a legend, and to do that I have to win fights in an impressive fashion,” concluded Blancas. “I started my career off with a great knockout and I wish to continue on that path of destroying my opponents. It is one fight at a time, but I am chasing greatness.”

BOXXER RETURNS TO MIDLANDS WITH BREAKTHROUGH EVENT ON SATURDAY, JUNE 25

Coventry, England – (20th May 2022) – A new generation of future British boxing stars alongside midlands talent will be showcased live on Sky Sports next month when BOXXER rolls into the English heartlands for an event at Coventry SkyDome on Saturday, June 25.

Adam ‘The Assassin’ Azim (4-0, 3 KO’s), described by trainer Shane McGuigan as “the best natural talent I’ve ever worked with”, brings his spectacular skills to the ring in a World Youth Championship bout as he continues his journey from teenage prodigy to future world champion.

Azim won ten national titles as an amateur and was ranked #1 in the world at welterweight before turning professional in 2020, where he has continued to win plaudits and show every sign of living up to the potential which has industry insiders so excited by him .

Also heading to Coventry on the path to future greatness is Tokyo 2020 Olympic Medallist Karriss Artingstall. She will make her highly-anticipated professional boxing debut following a glittering amateur career which culminated in a bronze medal in the latest Olympics.

From Bunny Johnson – Britain’s first black heavyweight champion – through to Robert McCracken and Frankie Gavin, the Midlands has a long history of producing elite boxing talents who have made their mark on the sport.

Leading the region’s new generation on their own march to the top are BOXXER Series tournament winners Cori Gibbs (16-0, 3 KO’s) and Dylan Cheema (5-0, 1 KO’s).

Undefeated Birmingham battler Gibbs, who won the eight-man BOXXER Series Liverpool: Super-Lightweights tournament in November, will face the tough and wily Carlos ‘Raton’ Perez (17-6-2, 2 KO’s), the current Spanish lightweight champion

Cheema, who won last month’s BOXXER Series: Coventry tournament in spectacular fashion despite entering as an unknown underdog, is making a quick return to the ring for the first fight of his newly-signed multi-fight promotional deal with BOXXER.

Birmingham’s Sam Eggington (31-7, 18 KO’s), a two-time ‘Fight of the Year’ winner and firm crowd favourite thanks to his all-action fighting style, looks set to deliver another crowd-pleasing performance as he challenges for the IBO Super Welterweight Championship against undefeated Pole Przemyslaw Zysk (18-0, 6 KO’s)

Both fighters have a reputation for never taking a backwards step, making this another potential ‘Fight of the Year’ nominee for Eggington and an encounter likely to produce many a highlight-reel moment.

The rematch for the English Middleweight Championship between River Wilson Bent (12-0-1, 5 KO’s) and Tyler Denny (13-2-3) will be taking place on this card after their controversial and explosive first fight that ended prematurely after a clash of heads, resulting in a technical draw.

With a torrent of bad blood running through this fight and a score to settle after their first encounter, this is another of the evening’s bouts which guarantees sensational action from start to finish.

Undefeated 6’3” middleweight Shakiel Thompson (7-0, 5 KO’s) will be returning to action on this card, along with Scottish cruiserweight Scott Forrest (22-24, 4 KO’s) and Welsh super-bantamweight prospect Rhys Edwards (12-0, 4 KO’s).

Tickets for this event go on sale Friday 20 May at 12pm midday via boxxer.com/tickets

Anthony Nieves Looks to get Career Back on Track with Victory Against Judy Flores

CLEVELAND, OH (May 20, 2022) – Former Super-Flyweight World Title Challenger Antonio Nieves (19-3,1, 11 KOs), is looking to get back on track when he returns this Saturday, May 21, 2022, at The Civic Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Nieves will square off against Judy Flores (10-0, 6 KOs), who hails from the Philippines, in a scheduled 8-round bout.

“I want to thank my management and training team Tim VanNewhouse and Joe Delguyd for getting me this opportunity,” said Nieves. “I know I’m a world-class fighter, and a victory will put me back in position to get some big fights. I have been out of the ring for over two years since losing to Joshua Greer Jr., A fight I felt I won. I needed to decide if I wanted to keep going since this is such a thankless sport. Thankfully, I found my motivation and I am ready to get back into the big fights.”

The card promoted by Vick Green will be headlined by local draw Thomas Mattice.

“Ive’ worked with Antonio since his Pro-Debut and Joe Delguyd and I want him to get the most out of his career,” said Tim VanNewhouse. “This is a big chance for him to get back into the world ratings and position himself as one of the sports world contenders. I think he is going to be the best version of himself when he steps into the ring on Saturday.”

“My goal is to show the world what I am capable of after a setback,” concluded Nieves. “I feel I only have one loss, Inoue, one of the best fighters in the world. I feel largely disrespected and underappreciated, so I am going to go out and take what I feel is owed to me and that starts with this fight.”

“We are delighted to be working with Anthony alongside Manny,” said 258 MGT. “We have been monitoring him for some time now and he clearly has the pedigree and potential to be a future World Champion but also the charisma and personality to be a star outside of it. With the right guidance and progression, we think we have a real star of the future in Anthony, and we believe there is no better place for him to recognize all this potential than with Matchroom and DAZN.”

Herrera’s showing in Mexico is part of a stacked card in Mexico, headlined by a World title double-header as WBA Super and Ring Magazine World Light-Flyweight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi defending his straps against Esteban Bermudez and Mayerlin Rivas putting her WBA World Super-Bantamweight title on the line against Isis Vargas Perez

Jorge Castaneda and Eduardo Hernandez meet for the WBC International Super-Featherweight title in a huge fight for the division, Diego Pacheco (14-0 11 KOs) continues to be a must-watch talent and the 21 year old ticks off another major milestone as he stretches his legs over the ten round distance for the first time against Raul Ortega (10-2 7 KOs), Aaron Aponte fights for the sixth time in the paid ranks against Leo Leon Martinez (2-1 2 KOs) and there’s more fights to be added soon.

VIDEO: Benavidez vs. Lemieux: Press Conference | SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING

DAVID BENAVÍDEZ VS. DAVID LEMIEUX FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

GLENDALE, AZ. – May 19, 2022 – Unbeaten two-time world champion David “El Bandera Roja” Benavídez and former world champion David Lemieux went face-to-face at the final press conference Thursday as they previewed their 12-round showdown for the vacant Interim WBC Super Middleweight Title which headlines live on SHOWTIME this Saturday, May 21 from Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. in a Premier Boxing Champions event.

The press conference also featured hard-hitting Cuban prospect Yoelvis Gómez and Mexico’s Jorge Cota, who meet in the 10-round super welterweight co-main event, and unbeaten prospects Luis “The Twist” Núñez and Jonathan Fierro, who duel in the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® telecast opener at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by Sampson Boxing and TGB Promotions, are on sale now and are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.com at the link HERE.

The 25-year-old Benavídez has twice captured super middleweight gold throughout his career, including becoming the youngest super middleweight champion in boxing history by defeating Ronald Gavril on SHOWTIME in 2017 at just 20 years old. Now he will look to move closer to a third world title against Montreal’s Lemieux, a former middleweight champion who’s won three-straight bouts since moving to 168 pounds full time in late 2019.

Here is what the fighters had to say Thursday from the AZ Blue Club at Gila River Arena:

DAVID BENAVIDEZ

“I’ve had a tremendous training camp and everything has been perfect. The miles have been run, the rounds have been sparred and the weight has been lost already. I came in extremely prepared for this fight. We both have a lot of knockouts, so I’m just looking forward to giving the fans a war.

“I really want to go in there and earn this title. I have a lot of respect for Lemieux and I’ve been watching him since I was young, but he has a lot to worry about with me. I’m faster and stronger, but he’s got the experience, so this is going to be a great fight.

“I’m 100% focused on Lemieux. I’m focused on the task in front of me. I just take it one fight at a time. I like to put everything into the fight and figure out the rest later. I know Lemieux is very motivated for this fight, so my mind is 100% on him.

“I can guarantee a hell of a fight, a war, and that somebody is getting knocked out. Neither of us wants to go to a decision. The people are paying good money to see a knockout, and that’s what they’re going to get. I’m leaving with the title on Saturday night.

“I didn’t see my son for four months so I’m happy to be here and be around him again. I locked myself away for training camp and now I’m just excited to be here.

“Lemieux has a great resume with a lot of knockouts and I feel like he’s probably one of the most dangerous fighters I’ve faced. The only guys who are more dangerous than him, haven’t stepped up and taken the challenge.

“I’ve given Lemieux the respect he deserves. I’m already on weight and I’ve done everything right in training. Now I’m just ready to go in there and get a big victory.

“I want the big names. I feel like I’ve earned it. I’ve been champion twice and now I’m fighting for another belt. I’ve been wanting to fight the other big fighters, but they haven’t accepted the challenge.

“I don’t want to act like I’m just going to go in there and knock him out like it’s nothing. Sometimes fighters who you don’t think aren’t going to give you problems end up giving you problems. We have to see what happens, but I do feel like I’m going to get him out of there eventually.”

DAVID LEMIEUX

“When you want to become the world champion, you have to beat the best guy out there. Right now, Benavídez stands in front of me. That’s who I have to beat to be the world champion. Everybody knows that Benavídez is a very good fighter, but I think people are going to see that I’m a serious contender in the super middleweight division when I get that belt around me.

“It’s a big challenge, but I’m confident. I had a tremendous training camp for this fight. We’re ready physically and mentally. Benavídez is a good fighter. It’s going to be a hell of a show for the fight fans because he doesn’t like to do rounds and I don’t like to do rounds. We’ll see what happens.

“I don’t run away from anybody. I’ve never avoided any fight or any fighter. When I step in the ring, I’m the man to worry about. In this fight, there’s a solid guy in front of me, but I’m confident in my abilities and my strength and my power. We had a tremendous training camp to prepare specifically for Benavídez. I’m very confident in this approach. I have a lot of experience in the ring and I’m going to bring it on Saturday night.

“Yes, I do still have enough left in the tank. Absolutely. I’ve been an underdog in the past and I came up with the win. I know the difficulty that a fighter like David Benavídez poses and we came well-prepared to make sure we don’t get surprised in the ring.

“I’m very confident in my team and my abilities and what I have to do to walk out of here with that title. I have a lot of respect for David Benavídez. He’s a hell of a fighter. But the ring is the ring and I want to be a champion.

“Everything has changed in this camp. You change the mental just as much as the physical when you are fighting against a guy like David Benavídez. The guy is a bully and a brutal fighter. You change your work ethic in the gym. You punch harder. You’re more vicious. Everything is times ten.

“I bring power. Knockout power. I don’t care that he’s the so-called boogeyman of the division. He’s the fighter in front of me and I’m not scared of anybody. I’ll fight anybody. I’m scared of no man and on fight night, I’m determined to become champion.

“He’s a guy who comes to fight. I’m a guy who comes to fight. So I can promise the fans are going to have a great time. I promise that.”

YOELVIS GOMEZ

“I’m getting this knockout on Saturday night. I’m Not overconfident, just very relaxed. I’ve fought only five times as a pro, but I’ve had big amateur fights in my past. I’m just going to have fun on Saturday night.

“I want Cuban people to know that I feel their love and support across borders. I’m very excited to have their support like that.

“The knockout depends on how my opponent comes out to fight. However, if Cota comes out like I expect him to, don’t be surprised if the fight is over in the first round.

“My fists are going to dictate how long the fight lasts. I wish him and his team nothing but the best, but it’s ‘Viva Cuba’ on Saturday night.

“If he feels that it’s disrespectful that I’m fighting him so early in my career, then he better show it in the ring.”

JORGE COTA

“He will absolutely get a boxing lesson and get a lot of rounds on Saturday night. That’s what we came here for. I came here to show him what true experience and the true caliber of my quality is worth. Viva Mexico!

“I felt that it was an insult for me to be scheduled against somebody that only had five fights under his belt. To be honest with you, it did feel disrespectful. But I’m okay now and I’m here and ready to show what I’m worth.

“I guarantee that you’re going to have a super spectacular show. Anytime that I’ve fought on a PBC card, it has been a war and something to be witnessed. Watch out, we may just steal the show on Saturday night.”

LUIS NÚÑEZ

“This fight is just as important to me as the ones that have come before and the ones that will come after. I will say though, I’m definitely going to win this fight.

“I know that I have what it takes to showcase my talent on Saturday night. My goal is to show everyone watching that I’m here to stay.

“He can say that I don’t have the power to beat him. He can say whatever he wants. I’m going to do my talking in the ring on Saturday night and show everyone that I have enough power and more.

“I’m proud that the Dominican Republic is recognized for baseball, but I’m going to show Fierro that we’re also going to be recognized for boxing, thanks to me on Saturday night.”

JONATHAN FIERRO

“This fight is going to open up doors for me. I believe that Luis holds the key for me. I’m well aware that he’s unbeaten, but I believe in my ability to be able to hold the key, open that door and go through it.

“The Dominican Republic is recognized mostly for baseball. Mexico is recognized for boxing. I’m going to showcase why that’s the case and why Mexico is the hotbed of boxing while the Dominican Republic is the hotbed of baseball. On May 21, Luis is going to see firsthand what it’s like to fight against a Mexican fighter.

“We came here fully prepared and there is no thought at all about being nervous. I was born without fear.

“I’m going to take advantage by attacking his body, and I know that he will be looking to land his hook. I’m going to listen to what my corner tells me to do in order to avoid it.”

Press Conference Notes: Janibek Ready to Crash Middleweight World Title Party

LAS VEGAS (May 19, 2022) —Kazakhstan’s next middleweight star, Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly, has long called out world champions and 160-pound standouts. He finally gets a chance to win a belt this Saturday at Resorts World Las Vegas when he takes on fellow unbeaten contender Danny Dignum for the vacant WBO Interim middleweight world title.

Janibek (11-0, 7 KOs) is a 2016 Olympian who broke through in 2021 with knockout victories over former world champions Rob Brant and Hassan N’Dam. Dignum (14-0-1, 8 KOs), from Essex, England, has been the WBO European middleweight champion since knocking out Conrad Cummings in November 2019.

In the 10-round co-feature, former junior lightweight world champion Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring returns to the lightweight ranks against undefeated contender Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (15-0-1, 8 KOs). The ESPN-televised opener will see U.S. Olympian Tiger Johnson (3-0, 2 KOs) step up in a six-round welterweight bout against Agustin Kucharski (8-4-1, 3 KOs). Janibek-Dignum, Herring-Ortiz and Johnson-Kucharski will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+ (5:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. PT) and includes featherweight contender Adam “Blunose” Lopez (15-3, 6 KOs)against William Encarnacion (19-2, 15 KOs)in an eight-rounder, featherweight U.S. Olympic silver medalist Duke Ragan (5-0, 1 KO), the comebacking Steven “So Cold” Nelson (17-0, 14 KOs), 2016 U.S. Olympian Karlos Balderas (12-1, 11 KOs), and former junior featherweight world champion Jessie Magdaleno (28-1, 18 KOs) returning from a nearly two-year layoff to fight Edy Valencia Mercado (19-6-6, 7 KOs).

At Thursday’s press conference, this is what the fighters had to say.

Janibek Alimkhanuly

“It’s boxing. Everything happens in boxing, as we all know. I am very happy that this young man took this fight. We’re going deliver a very good fight for the audience.”

“I think I’m one of the most avoided fighters. And I think in the future, many are going to continue to step aside. Many will not want to face me in the ring.”

“I respect him very much for taking this fight. He is a good fighter. He has a good record. He is 14-0. He has a good amateur career. But when we step in the ring, all the respect is going to go away. It’s boxing.”

“I’ve been preparing for this fight for a very long time. I’ve learned a lot about him. I’ve learned about all of the mistakes that he does in the ring. I’ve learned what his weaknesses are. I’m going to be playing with him, and I’m going to be showing my ‘Qazaq Style’ of fighting.”

Danny Dignum

“This is what I’ve dreamed of since I was nine years old when I first started boxing. I’m so pleased that the other fighters didn’t fight him because now it’s going to be my opportunity to fight him. He’s a very good fighter. I’ve prepared well. I’ve done everything possible to give myself every opportunity, and I’m ready to take it.”

“I’m pleased the other fighters didn’t take this fight because otherwise I wouldn’t be sitting here now with the opportunity to box for the interim world title. The opportunity came up, and I just said yes straight away. I’ve boxed to try to prove myself, and now I’ve got the opportunity, and I’ve grabbed it with both hands.”

“You’re going to see a good performance from me on Saturday. I’m going to cause a big upset. I’m going to gain a lot of fans. I’m looking forward to that.”

Jamel Herring

“Everything’s been good. It was a great camp. I’m just happy to be back in the ring. Jamaine is basically the only one that stepped up. You got to give him that respect. I’ve got nothing against anyone else. Richard Commey was a name that was thrown at us. But he’s moving up in weight. Robson Conceição was another name thrown at me. We were supposed to set up a match against Miguel Berchelt as well, but you see how that played out.”

“But I don’t complain. I don’t fuss. I really don’t give Top Rank or anyone an issue about who I match up with as long as it’s a fight that people want to see and it makes sense, then I’m all for it.”

“I always feel like I have something to prove. I mean, you guys know it really well. Even when I was champion, I was considered the underdog in big fights. When I fought Masayuki Ito, I was the underdog. When I fought Carl Frampton, I was a big underdog, and so on. I just have the mentality that no matter who is in the ring, you always got to take them seriously. You always have to prepare like your back’s against the wall. That’s how I prepare for every fight.”

“I had a great camp with Manny Robles. A lot of people don’t know, but we’ve had a relationship for over 10 years. Manny was actually in my corner when I was getting ready for the Olympics, through the AIBA Worlds, the Continental Qualifiers and even the Olympic Games. Coach Manny was there. I just want to put that out there. Even with the change, it’s not a big change. I’m familiar with him.”

Jamaine Ortiz

“It’s a big opportunity. I wanted to fight a former world champion just to get myself up there and prove to myself that I can beat a former world champion and beat a current world champion, so this is the road that’s ahead of me.”

“Maybe the opponent wasn’t something that I was expecting, but I’m not surprised at the road that I’m heading down by fighting a former world champion because this is what I expect in my career by moving up and trying to climb the ladder. These are the fights that are going to be headed my way.”

“I prepare for every fight with the same mindset. It’s a tough fight. I do what works. I do what fits best for me and for my body. We’re going to be ready on Saturday.”

Tiger Johnson

“It’s a blessing. I’m happy to be here. We’re just taking it one fight at a time. I had a good camp with Brian Castaño. Shout out to him. He had a good fight. I’m just ready for whatever.”

“It’s been fun. I like fighting. I enjoy getting better as time goes on. With each fight, you see that I’ve been improving. It’s going to get better and better, and this Saturday, you will see.”

On Visiting the White House with the U.S. Olympic Team

“It meant a lot. Because of COVID, we didn’t get a chance to see the White House, so they arranged it for us. We went there in the beginning of May, and it felt like I was on the Olympic team all over again. Then we had a nice gala. It felt like I was at prom.”

Jessie Magdaleno

“It’s been a long two years, and I have been waiting, waiting and waiting. And now that the time is here, I am very excited about it. I can’t wait to shine.”

“I missed everything. The training. Getting punched. Feeling the hits. The soreness. I missed it all. I’m very pleased to be back.”

VIDEO: Joshua Buatsi vs Craig Richards Plus Undercard Press Conference

BUATSI VS. RICHARDS PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Joshua Buatsi:

“I think there’s always people to prove wrong Eddie… The talking is nearly done. We’re going to find out on Saturday. The switch hasn’t flicked yet. I don’t think it personally flicked during that face off but we are two or three days away and the switch will definitely flick.

“The struggle from camp, I’ve got that in me. And I know how I want to perform on Saturday. And it’s time to show it because camp was very hard. And I’ve paid the price but someone else has got to pay it now.

“The way that life is now, I go anywhere I need to go to improve. It happened to be in the States. It happened to be in Cali and that’s where I’m at. We all have one career. So wherever I have to be, that’s where I have to be. My family my friends understand that when it’s all over we can party and we can celebrate. But for now Saturday is what’s next.

“Every boxer has got an ego. Everyone sitting on this table has an ego and wants to win. Who here wants to go into a fight and lose? No hands. See what I’m saying.

“I win by being myself. You can look at the stats and say ‘oh this is how he usually wins, this is the style that he fights’, but I’m going to bring it and I’m in it to win it. There’s no other way.”

Craig Richards:

“100% Eddie, I do believe that I’ll be victorious otherwise I would it be here today. I believe all the fights that I’ve taken have put me in good stead.

“I just say what I want to say. If I feel something I say it.

“It’s not personal to Josh, I just believe that I’m the best in the division. I’m very good at adapting to fighters. I’ve got a very good IQ and it just depends on what I want to bring and what I’ve got in the toolbox that night. And I believe I’ve got the tools to get the job done on Saturday night. It’s not personal to him it’s just that I believe I have the ability to beat anyone.

“I’ve got to keep proving the doubters wrong.”

Chantelle Cameron:

“I know this is gonna be a tough fight, but that’s what I want. I want the tough fights. I want to prove that I’m a worthy World champion.

“If the stoppage comes, it’ll be nice… I’m hitting harder and I’m fitter. We’ve been working on a few tactics and I think that my punches are going to be a bit more hurtful yeah.”

Victoria Bustos:

“Whenever I prepare for any fight I prepare really really well… we have prepared excellently.

“I think the fight is going to be a fantastic one on Saturday. I think it’s going to be quite strategic and tactical you know.

“Whenever I’ve been called upon for an opportunity, I never say no… I step up. And this is the same case on Saturday.

“In terms of Saturday night, it’s all about not missing the opportunity… but you never know, fights can be great and they can turn out brilliantly but let’s see how this one’s going to go.”

Alen Babic:

“I’m fulfilling my dream every time I come here. I’m in the best shape of my life.

“I expect this to be another knockout, a crazy knockout. I’m not just going there to box. I’m back to my old self. I’m just going to try to knockout this guy. I respect him and he respects me. It’s all good.

“Let’s all just end careers by The Savage!

“I don’t have opinions. I just do stuff and that’s what I’m gonna do.”

Adam Balksi:

“As long as I can remember my friends from Poland lost when they came here, but I’m here to win.

“First of all I do respect my opponent, but he might not have too much experience in boxing. We will see on Saturday in the ring.”

Robbie Davies Jr:

“Every fight that gets offered now, I just accept them all and leave them all to the team. They will sort it out and I’ll fight them all.”

Javier Molina:

“I know Robbie is a tough fighter and I’m coming off of two losses against two tough fighters.

“I’m coming back down to my natural weight and I’ve been training hard. After two losses I never questioned my ability or what I could do in the sport. The only thing I questioned was what I need to adjust.”

Ellie Scotney:

“I’ve stepped up every fight and I’m winning too so Saturday night is another step and I really got a step up so I’ll make sure that I do.”

Cecilia Roman:

“When you except a defeat, it’s not something that holds you back forever. It brings more will to come back and perseverance. I’ve got a huge desire to perform well this weekend.”

Cheavon Clarke:

“Yeah fight number two! I’m looking forward to it just to correct things that I didn’t do right in fight number one.

“I don’t think many people can say they’ve had back to back fights at The O2 at the start of their careers. So I’m excited for that! And also we’re in London, my home city so lots of people can come and watch. Looking forward to putting on a performance.”

Cyrus Pattinson:

“You’ve just got to dust yourself off and carry-on.

“When you cannot control what happens in a situation, you have to control how you respond and that’s all I’ve been trying to do, staying positive.

“I definitely feel like I’m transitioning to the pros now. I want to have one more fight at eight rounds and then I think I’m ready.”

John Hedges:

“This is my third one on the spin at The O2 so can’t complain at all. I’m getting spoiled here!

“I want to show development and keep on improving … and hopefully just keep the ball rolling so that performances get better.

Shiloh Defreitas:

“For this fight I’ve learned something different about myself. This fight you’re going to see a different side to me, a spiteful side.

“I chose the harder route on purpose because it makes me develop and it makes me try harder and push harder.”

Michael Dutchover To take on Clarence Booth In Last Chance Tournament Friday Night in Plant City, Florida

PHILADELPHIA, PA /Ontario, CA (May 19, 2022) – Junior welterweight Michael Dutchover (15-2, 10 KOs) will take part in The Last Chance Tournament when he battles veteran Clarence Booth (21-4, 13 KOs) in a scheduled 8-round bout on Friday night in Plant City, Florida. Dutchover of Midland, Texas is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. The fight will be streamed on the Probox TV App.

“It will be great to get under the bright lights again, I miss that feeling,” said the 24-year-old Dutchover. “We are taking this one fight at a time, and we have Booth in front of us on Friday.”

On Booth, “He has good fights under his belt and he has been in with some good contenders. I have studied some film on him, and I am looking forward to imposing my will on him. I am ready to go.”

Dutchover is coming off a disappointing loss to Nahir Albright on September 14, 2021, and now looks to get back on the right course to major fights.

“I have never taken the easy route, my last fight was a learning experience,” continued Dutchover, “When you get knocked down, the key is how you get back up. This is a great opportunity for me to show how much I have improved from my last outing. I feel that I am the guy to beat. Whoever is the last man standing has a chance to rejuvenate their career and get bigger opportunities. My losses have taught me to be more composed and learning from my mistakes has made me a better fighter. I’ve had a great camp and my weight is on point. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and stuck by my side. I’m looking forward to a big performance on Friday night.”

“It is a great opportunity for the winner of the tournament, for which we believe it will be Michael Dutchover to advance his career and compete in big fights,” said Artie Pelullo, President of Banner Promotions.

“We know Dutchover has what it takes to get back on track toward his winning ways,” said Alex Camponovo, Thompson Boxing’s general manager. “Winning this tournament will be a tremendous accomplishment and we are behind him one hundred percent.”

Dutchover weighed 139.8 lbs. Booth was 138.8

LISA WHITESIDE SENDS WARNING TO WORLD SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPIONS AND REVEALS JACK CATTERALL HOPE

LONDON, MAY 19 – British fighter Lisa Whiteside will relaunch her professional career with Probellum and is set on winning a world title for young son Jensen. Whiteside was a world class amateur with Great Britain and England, boxing over 120 times and picking up medals at various international tournaments, before turning professional in 2019. But after three fights, the Chorley-born boxer, stepped away from the sport to focus on becoming a mum and she gave birth to baby boy Jensen on Boxing Day 2020. A shoulder injury then hampered comeback plans but Whiteside is now ready to return to the ring and having signed a promotional deal with Probellum, the 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist is set on grabbing world title chances – and quickly.

‘HE’S IMPROVING ME LOADS’ – WHITESIDE TEAMS WITH TYSON FURY COACHLEE MCGREGOR SETS DEADLINE FOR WORLD TITLE SHOT Mick Day-trained Whiteside, 36, will campaign at super bantamweight and says all she needs is one fight before being ready to start pushing for contests with Mayerlin Rivas, Segolene Lefebvre and the other world title holders at 122lbs. Lisa Whiteside said: “My goal is to become world champion, and I believe Probellum, together with S-Jam Boxing, will put me in a position to get the fights I need. “I’ve been out of boxing for almost three years because I had a baby and then a shoulder injury put a spanner in the works, so I need to get that one fight under my belt, but after that I am ready to go! “The drive to succeed that my son Jensen gives me, to go and get that world title belt for him, is incredible. “I just want to make him super proud and bring home a world title.” Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum said“Lisa is yet another great addition to Probellum’s stable of female fighters. “Women’s boxing has never been as popular, or as packed with talent. There are huge fights to be made everywhere you look in the sport and that is our focus with Lisa – deliver her the big fights. “She was a supremely talented amateur and we know she has the perfect style and attitude for the pros.  Lisa is ready to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.” ESTELLE MOSSELY DEFENDS TITLE ON HISTORIC NIGHT DINA THORSLUND WANTS UNIFICATION BLOCKBUSTER Whiteside, who has recently teamed up with Tyson Fury’s strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock to aid her training, says joining Probellum raises the prospect of fighting on the same card as another Chorley hero. Jack Catterall is Chorley born and bred like me and I would love to be able to share a show with him,” said Whiteside. “That would be amazing, he’s a top guy and it was unfortunate what happened in his last fight, but it has put him on a bigger platform, and you can see the love the public have for him. “That show would be a sell-out, 100%!” To keep up to date with the latest news on Whiteside’s return, sign up to our newsletter?or follow Probellum on?Instagram,?Twitter?and?Facebook.?? ?You can also follow our official news, results, and information account, Probellum News, on Twitter.??
