Vincent Feigenbutz (30-2, 27 KOs) came face-to-face with his opponent Cesar Nunez (16-0-1, 8 KOs) for the first time today at the official press conference ahead of their IBO International title fight on Saturday 17 August in Ludwigshafen, Germany. 

Feigenbutz, known as ‘The KO King’ due to his 84% knockout rate, won the WBA Super Middleweight World title in 2015 and is hoping that winning the IBO International title will help him force a fight with Chris Eubank Jr. 

Both fighters were in high spirits at the Best Western Leoso Hotel as they met in front of the assembled media ahead of Saturday’s match up. 

“Preparing for the fight in my home country and boxing close to my hometown is great,” said Karlsruhe native Feigenbutz. “I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in the arena and I will do everything I can to get the knockout.”

The unbeaten Spaniard Cesar Nunez was equally confident ahead of his first international fight “This is the biggest fight of my career. I have a plan for each round and I will do everything I can to beat Vincent!”

Headlining the main event will be welterweight prospect Ferdinand Kerobyan (11-1, 6 KOs) taking Olympian Oscar Molina (13-2-1, 10 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Kerobyan is a 20-year-old native of North Hollywood, Calif. who became the first Golden Boy prospect to be managed by former UFC fighter and current WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey. After scoring several dominant wins, Kerobyan suffered his first loss against undefeated prospect Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs in a very close fight. Keroyban will look to regain momentum in his second main event fight.

Molina is a 29-year-old from Norwalk, Calif. who represented Mexico in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. After more than a year of inactivity, Molina will return to the ring to reinvigorate his career.

In the co-main event, Emilio “The Kid” Sanchez (18-1, 12 KOs) of North Hollywood, Calif. will face Jose Gonzalez (23-8-1, 13 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico in an eight-round featherweight battle. Sanchez is coming off two straight wins after losing his undefeated record via knockout.

Bektemir ‘Bek Bully’ Melikuziev (1-0, 1 KO) of Indio, Calif. will fight in a six-round light heavyweight bout against Elio Trosch (14-8-2, 7 KOs) of Barranqueras, Argentina.

Cornell Hines (5-0, 2 KOs) of Washington, D.C. will face Eben Vargas (9-0, 4 KOs) of Arizona, Texas in a six-round welterweight battle.

THE LONG RUNNING quest of Lucien Reid to become involved in title fights certainly rings true with the old saying about London buses.

Reid has been waiting, impatiently, for a title opportunity to come along then all of a sudden, like the buses, two have arrived at once.

‘Lethal’ Lucien, 25, will challenge for the British and Commonwealth super bantamweight titles held by Brad Foster when the pair meet at York Hall on September 14, live on BT Sport.

It is just reward for the 8-0-1 former amateur standout who has recently changed his training location from the base of Adam Booth in Redhill to Alan Smith’s thriving gym in Bromley.

After being kept waiting at the shelter for a lengthy period, Reid almost reached the point of believing his boxing bus would not ultimately arrive.

“I did, I’ve been calling for a title fight for years because, not being funny, with my amateur background I have done everything, boxed all different styles and I know what I am capable of,” explained the Hackney-born Reid, who made his professional debut in May 2015.

“To be honest, boxing journeyman-type opponents left me not getting up for it and that is why in my last fight (against the 9-1 Indi Sangha) I was happy to be up against someone with a good record.

“I want titles as I have a boy, who is six now, and he doesn’t care about me winning fights, he just wants me to have belts. I now just want to be one of those dads who can show off to him.”

Reid, who has previously been nominated for Southern Area and English honours that have not come to fruition, accepts he is probably not everybody’s ideal choice for when it comes to putting titles on the line.

“I think I have been too much of a risk for a champion to fight me with not much of a reward. Especially if they are not with Frank Warren. Why would they take a fight knowing they are going to lose?” added Reid, who suffered the only blemish to his record last time out against Sangha when the fight was stopped in the third round due to him sustaining a nasty cut above his right eye.

However, the fact that a double-title encounter comes next shows that no long-term harm was done to his prospects.

“It was annoying and, at the time, I was devastated, obviously. I was into my flow and feeling good, but now it looks like a blessing in disguise because look what has come from it.

“I’m hoping Brad Foster looked at that fight and thought ‘this will be easy’. That wasn’t how I box normally and everything is changing.”

Joshua Buatsi will defend his WBA International Light-Heavyweight title against Ryan Ford on the undercard of the huge Lightweight World title showdown between Vasiliy Lomachenko and Luke Campbell at The O2 in London on August 31, shown live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK.

Buatsi (11-0, 9 KOs) was last seen taking out Marco Antonio Periban in four rounds on the blockbuster Joshua vs. Ruiz Jr bill at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1, marking his big US debut with a ruthless stoppage win in the Big Apple. 

The undefeated Croydon star took a step-up in class against the seasoned Periban and was eager to impress, dropping the Mexican and then finishing the fight with a barrage of punches to earn his sixth successive win inside the distance. 

Ford, a former opponent of Fedor Chudinov and Avni Yildrim, has never been stopped in 20 career fights and the former MMA fighter, hailing from Edmonton in Canada, picked up the WBC International Silver Light-Heavyweight title in his last fight.

Two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex is about to embark on her mixed martial arts journey once on August 16 at ONE: DREAMS OF GOLD when she faces Asha “Knockout Queen” Roka at the Impact Arena in Bangkok.

Stamp’s first professional mixed martial arts match was back in July 2018 in Rick Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series. She finished her match with Rashi Shinde from India quickly with a head kick in just 19 seconds. A year since then, she has dominated the aomweight division of ONE Super Series holding titles for both Muay Thai and Kickboxing. The 21-year-old is now in pursuit of a third sport’s title. 

“I am very excited that I finally get to fight in an MMA match again,” Stamp said. 

“I have prepared myself mentally and physically for this upcoming match. My journey for a third sports title is about to begin and  I am ready to face anyone.”

To help Stamp succeed in mixed martial arts, the team at Fairtex gym taught the Thai native new skills and did research on Roka, who owns a 100% finishing rate.

“Roka has a strong boxing skill and she can knock anyone out,” Stamp said. 

“I have been improving my movements in the fight to make sure that she will not land her blows. As for my ground game, it will be fun. I don’t want to reveal too much but I have a special surprise for her and the fans as well.”

Though new to mixed martial arts, Stamp will enter the match confident knowing that there are some similarities to her main disciplines.

“I like to compete in MMA because I find similarities with Muay Thai like clinching,” Stamp concluded. 

“I can really do well in a clinch and in this sport, I can stay longer in a clinch and wrestling position where I can dominate. I am really excited about this match and I am doing everything I can to be well prepared for it.”

In the main event of SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION (9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT), Shields will aim to make history as the fastest fighter in boxing, male or female, to become a three-division world champion, in her first professional fight in her hometown of Flint.

Los Angeles, CA (August 14, 2019) Undisputed Women’s Welterweight World Champion ‘The First Lady’ Cecilia Braekhus, (35-0, 9 KOs), has commenced training under the watchful eye of the world-renowned Abel Sanchez at his gym, The Summit Training Center in Big Bear Lake, CA as she prepares for her return to the ring.

“I’ve known Abel for a few years and was very aware of the enormous success he has had training the best fighters in the world,” said Braekhus, a native of Oslo, Norway. “When I approached him about training me he was very interested. Braekhus has previously trained in Santa Monica, CA; Kiev, Ukraine; Berlin, Germany; Spain and Norway. “As soon as I arrived in Big Bear I felt very comfortable, it’s a beautiful part of the world and very conducive to an overall great training experience.”

Said the 2015 Trainer of the Year, Sanchez, “I’ve long admired Cecilia boxing skills, she’s a tremendous fighter, one of the very best female boxers in history. She’s also very willing to learn which is important as we move forward in training and prepare to face the toughest competition.” Among the world champions Sanchez has trained include Gennadiy ‘GGG’ Golovkin, Terry Norris, Orlin Norris, Murat Gassiev and at least a dozen others.

On January 5, 2018, the Boxing Writers Association of America named Braekhus the recipient of their first-ever Women’s Fighter of the Year Award (2017). The award was presented by female boxing pioneer Christy Martin at the BWAA’s Annual Awards Dinner on May 11, 2018 In New York City.

On May 5, 2018, Braekhus was specifically chosen by HBO to fight in the first women’s bout telecast on the network over their 45-year history of boxing events. Defeating world ranked contender Kali Reis by unanimous decision at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA, the fight was telecast to an average of 904,000 viewers in the United States, the second highest viewership by the network for boxing in 2018.

As previously proclaimed by Ring Magazine, the Boxing Writers Association of America named Braekhus the Women’s #1 Pound-for-Pound Fighter in the World on June 26, 2018 in the first poll taken by organization for this honor. Unified Heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz is having reservations about his December 7th rematch with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, according to Dan Rafael of espn.com.

“I know everyone is talking about the fight and all that,” Ruiz said on Tuesday in a live Instagram chat. “But we got the real news coming soon and the fight is gonna happen soon.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn reiterated that the site will be Diriyah.

“Absolutely it will,” Hearn told ESPN on Wednesday. “We have been in constant contact with Ruiz’s promoter (Tom Brown of TGB Promotions) and team about the rematch. Together we have written to all the governing bodies to confirm the date and location of the bout and the press conference will take place at the beginning of September.”

AJ, he’s scared. Hell yeah, why do you think he’s over there, trying to make the fight in Saudi Arabia,” Ruiz said in his Instagram video. “Look, United States of America wants to… never mind, I can’t say nothing. But the fight is gonna happen soon.”

LOS ANGELES (August 13, 2019) – IBF Welterweight World Champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and WBC Welterweight World Champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter went face to face Tuesday in Los Angeles at a press conference to preview their 147-pound championship unification that headlines a FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View on Saturday, September 28 from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance at Tuesday’s press conference, and competing in pay-per-view action beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT were WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Anthony Dirrell and unbeaten former champion David Benavidez, who meet in a 168-pound title fight, unbeaten contenders Mario Barrios and Batyr Akhmedov, who battle for the WBA Super Lightweight title, and rugged veteran Josesito Lopez and brawler John Molina Jr., who battlein a 10-round welterweight fight.

“I’m an experienced fighter. I’ve been doing this for 25 years going back to my amateur days. He’s only 22-years-old and he can’t possible know what I can do. He’s going to find out on September 28.

“I can’t only rely on just my experience. I have to throw punches and go in there to execute my game plan.

“Him going for the knockout definitely excites me. We’re going to give the fans something to see. They’re coming to see a knockout and I’m planning to give it to them.

“Being an underdog is great, it motivates me. I’m fine with it because I can prove everybody wrong at the end of the day. It’s about making history, and you can’t make history if you don’t go in there and take a chance.

In the main event, NABA Light Heavyweight Champion, Charles Foster (18-0, 9 KOs) will defend his title for the fourth time in a 10-round bout against Russian power puncher Denis Grachev (19-7-1, 10 KOs).

Foster, who hails from nearby New Haven, Connecticut is ranked #8 in the world bythe WBA and is coming off an impressive stoppage victory over Chicago’s once-beaten Mike Jiminez this past March.

Grachev, known as ‘Drago’s Son’, is currently on a 3-fight win streak in 2019, and an upset win over Foster would immediately land the Russian back into the world rankings.

The 19-year-old Spencer (8-0, 6 KOs) turned pro last year after an impressive amateur career and scored knockouts in his first six fights. Fighting for his first world championship is a major step forward for Barrios (24-0, 16 KOs), who began his career as a super bantamweight in 2013 at age 18. Representing his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, and now training with Virgil Hunter in the Bay Area, Barrios has knocked out all eight of his opponents since making the move to 140-pounds. The 24-year-old most recently scored a knockout victory over Juan Jose Velasco in May on FOX.

Born in Uzbekistan and residing in Russia, Akhmedov (7-0, 6 KOs) represented Turkey at the 2016 Olympic games. The 28-year-old turned pro in 2017 and is unbeaten with knockouts in all but one of his first seven fights. He made his U.S. debut last April, before stopping Ismael Barroso in August, prior to his two most recent triumphs this year.

“I am the eighth child in my family and we had a very difficult and poor upbringing so I know what it means to persevere during hard times,” said Akhmedov. “I only started boxing when I was 18 years old. I spent about four hours a day on the road to get to and from the gym. I really love this sport. I know what it means when people tell me that I won’t be able to achieve something. At 20 years old I became a national champion. At 22 I was on the Olympic team. I was successful in many of the tournaments that I took part in. I always tried to find a way to victory. I know that it will not be easy for me on September 28, but I will find a way to become a world champion.”

López (36-8, 19 KOs) is coming off a hard-fought majority decision loss to Keith Thurman in January on FOX, in a fight that saw him nearly stop Thurman before narrowly dropping the close and exciting fight. The Riverside, California-native has gone toe-to-toe with numerous top fighters and has regularly engaged in memorable action fights throughout his career.

“It’s going to be an all-action fight,” said López. “Molina is always in good action fights. He brings power to the table. California and the world will see that on September 28. Katharina Thanderz (11-0, 2 KOs) has her sights set on a World title challenge as she looks to claim her twelfth professional victory against Monica Gentili (6-10, 1 KO) on Saturday at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Thanderz returns to the ring following an impressive points win over Rachel Ball in Arendal in March, and will be fighting for the first time since signing a long-term contract with European powerhouse promoter Team Sauerland.

“I believe I’m ready for a World title challenge,” said Thanderz ahead of her crunch clash with the tough Italian. “I have been working with that goal in my mind for many years. I’ve put in the hard work every single day to be at my best, and I definitely think I have what it takes to become a World Champion.

“Going into this fight, it gives me a lot of extra motivation knowing that a World title fight is so close. I mean, I love boxing, and I always work with a lot of passion and give my all in every training session, but it definitely gives me an extra push to know that I’m so close to achieving my goal.”

“Out of all the champions in my weight division, I would love to meet Eva Wahlstrom,” said Thanderz. “She’s from Finland and I’m from Norway, and it would be a great fight that I’m sure the Scandinavian public would love.

“I really admire her as a boxer. She has a very nice boxing style to watch, and is very technical and fast. She might not be the strongest or hardest hitting boxer, but she’s a hard worker, and I have huge respect for that. I think she has the whole package and is a good role model for other female boxers.

“With that said, I would be willing to fight any of the World Champions. My ambition is to meet the best female boxers in the world, and I wouldn’t have a problem going up in weight in the future either, but for now, all my focus is on beating Monica Gentili because she is not a fighter you can overlook.

“My preparations have gone well. I’ve been training twice a day in extreme heat so I’m in great condition and I’m anxious to step into the ring again.”

Undefeated WBO Super-Middleweight World Champion Billy Joe Saunders has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, with his next fight to be announced next week.

Saunders (28-0, 13 KOs) became a two-weight World Champion with a shutout points win over Shefat Isufi in Stevenage earlier this year, outclassing his Serbian opponent over 12 rounds to land the WBO 168lbs title. 

The Hatfield southpaw’s first World title came against Irish fight legend Andy Lee at Manchester Arena in December 2015 when he floored the former Champion twice in the third round on route to a majority decision to claim the WBO Middleweight crown.

Successful defences followed against Artur Akavov, Willie Monroe Jr and, most notably, a career-best performance against David Lemieux on away soil in Canada where the 29-year-old star dismantled former IBF ruler Lemieux over 12 masterful rounds.

A former Southern Area, Commonwealth, British, WBO International and European Champion at Middleweight, Saunders is confident that his move to Matchroom Boxing will secure megafighs with new stablemates Callum Smith and Demetrius Andrade, as well as DAZN fighters Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. 

“This move is going to benefit me massively,” said Saunders. “Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing can put me right out on the branch for those big fights. I’m on Golovkin and Canelo’s turf. I’m a World Champion at Super-Middle so if anyone wants to come and try to win a belt then I’ve got one of the most recognised belts out there and I’m open to big offers. 

“I’m going to bring a lot of excitement to Sky Sports and DAZN. I’m a good talker but I can also walk the walk. Matchroom are going to give me more publicity and more exposure for these big fights and that’s what I need. Once people see me and they see what I’m about they’ll want to see me in those big fights.

“I can’t wait to be involved in those big nights that I’ve seen Matchroom put on over the years. If that means fighting at 168lbs or 8lbs lighter then that’s no problem. I’m ready to go and I’m hoping to be out at the end of October or early November.”

Former world champion Jason Sosa stopped Lydell Rhodes in round seven of a scheduled 10-round junior lightweight bout at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

In round five, Sosa scored two knockdowns. the 1st one coming from a lead left hook. The 2nd was from an overhand right. In six, Sosa was cut over the right eye from an accidental headbutt. In round seven.Sosa landed a hard left hand that sent Rhodes to the canvas. After a few more punches, the corner of Rhodes stopped the fight at

Sosa, 129 lbs of Camden, NJ is 23-3-4 with 16 knockouts. Rhodes, 130.9 lbs of Las Vegas, NV is 27-4-1.

Adan Gonzales scored a stunning four-round unanimous decision over two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner Robeisy Ramirez in a featherweight bout.

In round one, Gonzales landed a smacking left hook that sent Ramirez to the canvas. Ramirez never mounted any offense, and Gonzales was able to pull the shocking upset.

Gonzales of Denver won by scores of 40-35 and 39-36 Ramirez took a card 38-37. Gonzales is now 5-2-2. Ramirez of Cuba is 0-1.

Edgar Berlanga kept his perfect 1st round stoppage streak alive by taking out Gregory Trenel in their scheduled eight-round middleweight bout.

Berlanha sent Trenel to the canvas with a hook to the ear of Trenel. The fight was stopped by referee Benjy Esteves after eating a flurry of punches at 2:24.

Berlanga, 162.3 lbs of Brooklyn is 12-0 with 12 knockouts. Trenel, 162.2 lbs of Dainvile, FRA is 11-5-2.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 14 and will be streamed live on DAZN.

Munguia is a 22-year-old world champion of Tijuana, Mexico who catapulted to the highest levels of the 154-pound division by knocking out Sadam “World Kid” Ali in May to capture the WBO Junior Middleweight World Title. Since then, Munguia has defended his title against the likes of Liam “Beefy” Smith, Brandon “Bad Boy” Cook, Takeshi Inoue and Dennis Hogan. Munguia will now represent his country on the most important date for Mexican boxing.

The outcome will be determined by who is the better fighter so long as the judges are fair, and I am sure they will be. Garcia has a prettier record, but Sparrow can more than handle himself.”

Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano (32-7-1, 22 KOs) of Tlalnepantla, Mexico will defend his WBC International Silver Super Lightweight Title in a 12-round fight against Michael “The Artist” Perez (25-3-2, 11 KOs) of Newark, New Jersey. Cano will return from his upset victory over Jorge “El Niño de Oro” Linares, and he will look to fight for a world title at 140 pounds if successful against Perez.

Filipino rising star “Ruthless” Romero Duno (20-1, 15 KOs) will defend his NABO Lightweight Title in a 10-round fight.

Armenian contender Azat “Crazy A” Hovhannisyan (17-3, 14 KOs) will return in a 10-round super bantamweight clash.

Alejandro “Pin Pon” Reyes of Los Angeles, Calif. will make his professional debut in a four-round lightweight fight against Jorge Padron (3-4, 3 KOs) of Sonora, Mexico.

Today in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, Regis Prograis and DiBella Entertainment, Inc. filed for a declaratory judgment that Comosa AG, the owner of the World Boxing Super Series, has breached its contractual obligations to Prograis and DBE. Prograis and DBE further informed Comosa that Prograis is withdrawing from the WBSS, effective immediately.

Today’s action is the result of a long and repeated pattern of behavior by Comosa that includes late payments, scheduling delays, bad faith representations, missed deadlines, and broken promises. A recitation of this behavior can be found in the Complaint filed today.

There is no one more disappointed by this turn of events than Regis Prograis, who has expressed his desire to unify the super lightweight division on a number of occasions. Comosa was provided every opportunity to see the WBSS to conclusion but it failed at every turn to meet its obligations to the contracted fighters. This action was commenced only after Prograis and DBE determined, as a result of Comosa’s conduct, that his participation in this venture was no longer possible.

DBE and Prograis will not be making any further comment beyond the content of this statement and the Complaint.

The incredible rebirth of Albany, New York’s Mikey “Baby Face” Faragon (19-1, 9 KOs) is complete and he will return to action in a six-rounder tonight, Friday, August 9, at a GCP and Rapacz Boxing show at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota against Missouri’s Demetrius Wilson.

Faragon was once a super lightweight prospect touted as one of the most promising young fighters to ever come out of the Capital Region, but a severe foot injury forced him out of boxing five years ago.

During his extended recovery, which included several painful surgeries, 32-year-old Faragon fell into depression and unhealthy living and gained a great deal of weight.

With his mobility now restored, Faragon challenged himself to get back in shape and said he would fight again if he could. Pictured above, right, Faragon is back in fighting shape and, against Wilson, will be looking to gauge how much of that immense potential he still has.

DANIEL DUBOIS is promising ‘another devastating performance’ when he takes to the ring at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Friday September 27 with the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title on the line.

Dubois enters into his 13th professional fight against Tetteh – competing for his seventh title — and comes into the fight off the back of his spectacular demolition of domestic rival Nathan Gorman last time out when he claimed the British title

Defeating Gorman, Dubois believes, has increased his stock ahead of his next title assignment and his slightly longer-term aim of breaking into the elite band of heavyweights.

“It is like getting back to the drawing board now with this next fight and getting ready for this next date and seeing what’s what,” considered the 21-year-old.

“The last fight boosted my profile and a lot of people tuned in. It was special in that regard, with a lot of people watching with their own opinions on who would win. It builds exposure for me and grows my profile, so I’m glad I got that one done.

Orlando Fiordigiglio will make the first defence of his IBF International Super-Welterweight title against Sam Eggington on a Matchroom Boxing Italy and Opi Since 82 promoted show at the Tuscany Hall in Florence on Thursday September 19, shown live on DAZN.

Arezzo’s Fiordigiglio (31-2, 13 KOs) picked up the IBF ranking title with a split decision win over Stephen Danyo in April, outpointing the former WBO European Champion over ten rounds to earn the fifth title of his pro career.
