Murray believes his time has come to be crowned World Champion

Martin Murray
San Diego, CA – November, 17 2015 -Martin Murray (32-2-1, 15 KOs) believes the time has come for him to be crowned World Champion as he prepares for his fourth World title tilt against WBO World Super Middleweight Champion Arthur Abraham (43-4, 29 KOs) on November 21 at the TUI Arena in Hannover, Germany., This Saturday, November 21, live on AWE–A WEALTH OF ENTERTAINMENT

The fight will be part of a split-site championship doubleheader that will also pit WBA Lightweight champion Darleys Perez defending his title against Anthony Crolla from Manchester, England beginning at 3 PM ET / 12 Noon PT

The St. Helens man is unlucky not to have already claimed World honours having been held to draw by Felix Sturm in 2011 and finding himself on the wrong end of a continuous points decision to Sergio Martinez in 2013.

A brave performance against Gennady Golovkin followed in 2015, but was not enough to capture the Kazakh’s middleweight titles. Now, the former British and Commonwealth Champion believes the ‘time is right’ as he intends to draw on past experience to dethrone the German Champion.

”Abraham is a great champion and I’m expecting a tough fight but I just feel that the timing is right for me now,” reveals Murray. ”I think my first World title fight against Sturm may have come a little bit too early. I jumped straight from domestic to world level, so even though there was an argument to say I won that fight, I think it came to soon for me.

”Against Martinez, I knew I could win but going into the fight there were still some doubts. Whereas this time, I know I have it within me to win. I’ve got the ring experience, I’ve got the know-how, and I really feel, despite being in Germany, I’m going to get a fair crack of the whip.”

Murray, who has recorded three wins inside the distance since moving up to super middleweight, says he is expecting the ‘best Arthur Abraham’ having been impressed with the Champion’s recent performances.

”Arthur has looked great in his last two performances,” said the 33 year-old. ”I think I’ll be facing the best Arthur Abraham on Saturday night. He may of overlooked Paul Smith a little bit in their first fight, but I don’t think he is going to overlook me. He knows this is a massive fight for him and a risky fight, so I’m sure he’s going to turn up in top condition.”

DANIEL JACOBS, YURI FOREMAN & HEATHER HARDY BROOKLYN MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

Daniel Jacobs
BROOKLYN (Nov. 17, 2015) – WBA Middleweight World Champion Daniel “The Miracle Man” Jacobs, former world champion Yuri Foreman and undefeated super bantamweight contender Heather “The Heat” Hardy hosted a media workout Tuesday at Gleason’s Gym in their hometown of Brooklyn as they prepare for their respective battles on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Barclays Center.

Jacobs will defend his title against undefeated former champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin in the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® main event with televised coverage beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. In the co-feature, WBA Featherweight World Champion Jesus Cuellar (27-1, 21 KOs) will face exciting Puerto Rican contender Jonathan “Polvo” Oquendo (26-4, 16 KOs).

“ALL ACCESS: Jacobs vs. Quillin,” which chronicles the buildup to the all-Brooklyn showdown, premieres TONIGHT at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. This clip features Jacobs as he watches The Approaching Storm marching band rehearse his ring walk music at the Brownsville Recreational Center: http://s.sho.com/1H7jcVC

As part of an undercard stacked with top NYC talent, Hardy will take on Noemi Bosques in an eight-round super bantamweight rematch of Hardy’s split decision victory over Bosques in May. Foreman returns to the ring after taking time off from boxing to become an ordained rabbi and will compete in an eight-round super welterweight contest.

Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by DiBella Entertainment, start at $50, not including applicable fees, and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting www.ticketmaster.com, www.barclayscenter.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. Tickets are also available at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center.

Here is what the fighters had to say Tuesday:

DANIEL JACOBS

“I think my skills are an advantage. Skills pay the bills. At the end of the day I have a lot of skills over ‘Kid Chocolate.’ Speed is one. He’s probably a bigger puncher and naturally heavier. With all that power, he has to get to me. He has to be able to land those shots.

“I’m going to adjust. I love knockouts. If I can end it with a knockout that’s what I’ll do. But I have to use my skills and my advantages.

“Quillin made weight in his last fight and he has a new strength coach so hopefully he makes weight for this one. I want him to be 110 percent so there are no excuses and we can give the fans a great fight.

“I’m at about 170 pounds right now, so I have 10 pounds to go. It’s mostly water so it’ll go quickly and we’ll be good by fight night.

“Time is the biggest experience you can have. It was almost all taken away from me. Mentally, I’m there. Physically, I’m there. It’s my time and I just have to be ready Dec. 5.

“I’ve been based out in Long Island and Brooklyn for training camp. I get to see Brooklyn every day. I’m in the streets and in-tuned with the people. Being from here means even more to me.

“It’s going to be an excellent, fan-friendly fight. I’ve heard lots of different opinions about who is going to win, and I like that. At the end of the day, it’s about us proving who will be the victor.

“I’ve been campaigning for this fight for a long time. I haven’t thought about who I want to go after if I win but I’m going to fight the best and work my way to being the best in the division.”

YURI FOREMAN

“Boxing is a very spiritual sport. We all have different paths. My faith keeps me centered and focused. You can be anyone. You can be a rabbi and still be fighting on the big stage at Barclays Center.

“It’s the same routine, (I’ve been) working hard since June and putting in a lot of hours in the gym. In terms of preparation, I’m always trying to push myself. When I get tired, I want to push myself even harder.

“As soon as you take it easy on yourself, that’s when you have a problem. Especially in boxing. I’ve never taken any shortcuts. If you take shortcuts in this sport you’re going to get hurt.

“Every single boxer is different as they progress, so I don’t focus on one look that a guy could give me. I focus on myself and work to be the best Yuri Foreman I can be.

“It’s very special to be fighting at Barclays Center because this is my home and I actually live just blocks away from the arena. I’m honored to be around so many great fighters who are on this card. Everyone can come together under one roof to watch a great sport.

“I’m staying positive about Dec. 5. I can’t predict because it’s boxing and anything can happen. It only takes one shot. I’m envisioning a successful night and an impressive victory for myself.”

HEATHER HARDY

“Holly Holm didn’t prove that Ronda Rousey couldn’t fight, because Ronda is a good fighter. She just proved that there are lots of good female fighters. There are good female fighters everywhere and hopefully we’ll get the recognition that there is a large pool of female athletes that are not recognized.

“It was a great fight last time. We have fan friendly styles and we gave them a show. She has a great presence in the ring so I’m happy to give her a rematch.

“I feel like I have to make a statement every time I go out there just to prove that women belong in the ring. It’s always a fight to prove that we belong. There are so many good female fighters out there.

“Brooklyn boxing has been so good to me and I’m so honored to be able to fight at Barclays Center. As soon as Quillin won that fight in December I started asking Lou DiBella to put me on the card and now we’re here.

“I think the main event is going to be a great fight. I can’t pick a winner. You can never count out a champion. A champion has a great heart and the fight can turn at any moment.”

Celebrities, Sports Figures + Media Writers Make Predictions For Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez

Miguel Cotto
LAS VEGAS (Nov. 17, 2015) – Buzz is building for the epic showdown set for this Saturday, November 21 when Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) and former two-time Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) will meet in the ring at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas for the Ring Magazine Middleweight World Championship.

Home to some of the greatest fighters to ever lace up the gloves, the middleweight division has long been a favorite of boxing fans because of the opportunity to watch fighters with unique skill sets and intangibles compete on the sport’s biggest stages.

As 20-time middleweight world champion Bernard Hopkins has said of the division he ruled for more than a decade, “The middleweight division has the power of the heavyweights, and the speed of the flyweights. That’s why the middleweight division will always be one of the prestigious divisions of all-time.”

In 2015, a group of middleweights are in the midst of a quest to add their own names to the aforementioned list, and beginning with the November 21 mega fight between Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto and Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas; the era of the “New Kings of the Middleweight Division” is underway.

Cotto vs. Canelo is shaping up to be the biggest fight in boxing this year and the biggest fight in the history of the famed Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry. Below is what celebrities, sports figures, media writers and other fighters had to say about their picks for the outcome of Cotto vs. Canelo on Nov. 21:

Sugar Ray Leonard, Six-Time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist:

“I like Cotto for sentimental reasons and for what he has meant to the sport and boxing fans! Canelo has developed and grown along the way and taken to school against one of the best in Mayweather. If Cotto becomes that Miguel Cotto I remember, he will win by a smart, technical and fearless decision.”

Lennox Lewis, Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist:

“I’m picking Cotto over Canelo because he has the most experience.”

George Foreman, Two-Time Heavyweight Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist:

“It will be a battle of wills as they are evenly matched. In my opinion, things will start to separate after that. Canelo Alvarez punches like a mule. Cotto just doesn’t have the heart to run; he will stand to fight after six rounds and by the ninth round he’ll most likely be KO’D by Canelo.”

Tom Loeffler, Managing Director of K2 Promotions and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, Current Unified WBA, IBF, WBC and IBO Middleweight Champion:

“It should be a great fight between two champions and two proven warriors. The edge goes to Canelo as he is younger and physically bigger than Cotto, however you can’t count out Cotto with Freddie Roach in his corner. Tom sees it as Canelo by decision, and Gennady thinks Canelo will stop Cotto late.”

Sylvester Stallone, Academy Award Nominee Staring in “Creed”:

“One of those two guys will win for sure.”

Mario Lopez, Host of “Extra”:

“We are going for Canelo. My loyalty is to Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions. This is a big Puerto Rico and Mexican rivalry.”

Rosie Perez, Acclaimed American Actress:

“I’m sticking with my fellow Boricua. Win lose or draw, Miguel Cotto all the way!”

Kate Del Castillo, Acclaimed Mexican Actress Staring in “The 33”:

“Oh my gosh, are you kidding me? Canelo, of course! Of course!”

John David Washington, Star of HBO series “Ballers”:

“We the fans are in for a dynamic action packed fight. Should be violent and dramatic. I love Cotto because he is all heart. Canelo is a beast and more experienced now. I can’t call it. What I can predict is this will truly be a fan friendly fight and one of the most entertaining fights this year no hype needed. We will get our money’s worth.”

Bruce Buffer, Official Octagon Announcer for UFC:

“Both Cotto and Canelo possess boxing skills and styles that will make a much-anticipated war in the square ring as they will bring the fight to each other. I give the edge to Miguel Cotto and may the best man that night win.”

Claudio Sanchez, Lead Singer and Guitarist for Coheed and Cambria:

“Miguel Cotto. His experience, his new trainer Freddie Roach and he left hook to the body will be the key to beating Canelo Alvarez. Viva Puerto Rico!”

Erick Aybar, Short Stop for the Atlanta Braves:

“I like Cotto because he is a more experienced boxer, a harder puncher and is always leading the attack.”

Angie Martinez, American Radio Personality and “The Voice of New York” on Power 105.1:

“Cotto, by decision.”

Rusney Castillo, Right Fielder for the Boston Red Sox:

“I have to support our Roc Nation family member, Miguel Cotto, in his fight against Canelo Alvarez on Nov. 21. I may not be sure what round he will overcome Canelo, but I am confident that Cotto will take the night!”

Larry Merchant, Longtime Boxing Analyst and Commentator for HBO Sports:

“Old Sayings, ‘Youth must be served.’ Canelo, 25, by TKO in round 10.

Old Sayings also say, ‘Great fighters always have one great fight left in them.’ Cotto, 35, by decision.

Canelo was lulled, listless vs. Mayweather; true grit vs. Kirkland. Cotto re-dedicated and restored himself vs. so-so opposition. Therefore, I’ve got Canelo.”

Dan Rafael, ESPN.com:

“Cotto is a great fighter who will be in the Hall of Fame someday but Canelo might join him there eventually and he is 10 years younger and whole lot fresher. Boxing is usually a young man’s game so I am going with Canelo by a late knockout.”

Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports:

“Canelo by decision. A lot of people lost faith in Canelo after he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather did that to a lot of fighters. Alvarez is a supremely gifted fighter who has learned a lot since that fight. He punches well with both hands and is increasingly putting his punches together well. He’s the naturally bigger man and has youth on his side. Cotto’s late-career resurgence has been fueled, in part, by less than stellar opposition. Sergio Martinez was at the end of the line when they fought. I greatly respect Cotto, and he’s going to make it a fight, but I think the bigger, younger and stronger man will win it.”

Tim Dahlberg, Associated Press:

“I think it will be a good fight early with both fighters taking some punishment. In the end, I think Alvarez will wear down Cotto and win by TKO in the 11th round.”

Lyle Fitzsimmons, CBSSports.com:

“I can’t recall a recent high-profile fight that seems like so much a 50/50 proposition going in. Cotto has the resume and the skill set. Canelo has the youth and size. In the end, I think this will be the fight in which the youngster proves that he belongs among the elites, using an advantage in energy to carry him to a narrow win in a punishing fight. Canelo by decision.”

Lance Pugmire, The Los Angeles Times:

“Canelo Alvarez’s youth and power should decide this fight.

Even if Miguel Cotto is the smarter, more tactical fighter, he is likely to be drawn into a battle where Alvarez will punish him, and it will likely happen often enough to result in a late stoppage victory. I’ll say, 11th round.”

Jeff Powell, The Daily Mail:

“Canelo by decision.

Even though Freddie Roach’s training has clearly improved Cotto, youth and strength will prevail in what is likely to be a close fight through the first seven or eight rounds with Canelo pulling away in the later stages.”

Sergio Machado, NBCDeportes.com:

“Miguel Cotto has been and still is a great boxer, actually one of the best in history. However, boxing, like pretty much everything else in life, has generational changes and this may be the time for Canelo Álvarez to take the torch and establish himself as one of the most prominent faces of the sport. Canelo represents a big problem for Cotto because of his power. In his few losses and even in some wins, Cotto has shown problems when he gets hit with power. Cotto likes to engage as well and this is something very dangerous against an opponent with prominent heavy hands. I think Canelo has a slim chance to KO Cotto in the later rounds.”

Francisco Cuevas, NBC Deportes:

“When two boxers like Canelo and Cotto meet in the ring is a great event for boxing. Cotto should win because of his experience and dedication but Canelo should also win because of his youth and power. At the end of the day the fanatics around the world will win, witnessing a true classic match between two warriors.”

Brian Campbell, ESPN.com:

“Cotto by decision.

Canelo’s advantages in size and youth are hard to ignore. But Cotto’s edge in experience will ultimately be the deciding factor. The more Cotto can use his powerful left hook to dissuade Canelo from turning the fight into a brawl, the bigger the opening will be for the Puerto Rican icon to keep it a boxing match, which plays into his favor.”

Steve Kim, UCNLive.com:

“In what I believe is a very evenly matched fight, I think youth will eventually prevail and I’m picking Saul Alvarez to edge Miguel Cotto in what will be a hard-fought contest that will see pockets of great action and swings in momentum.”

Steve Springer, Author and Former Los Angeles Times Award-Winning Sports Writer:

“Canelo by split decision.

Canelo wasn’t ready for prime time when fought Mayweather, but this is his time.
At 35, Cotto still has some fight left in him, but his age will show Saturday night.
In a tough, competitive, often brutal match, the torch will be passed.”

Robert Littal, BlackSportsOnline.com:

“I think Miguel Cotto is going to surprise some people and put a boxing lesson on Canelo. Freddie Roach is one of the best of putting a game plan together and exploiting weaknesses, I think he has seen how Canelo has problem with movement and good boxers. You are going to see a combination of excellent boxing, defense and power punching from Cotto and he will cruise to a unanimous dominate decision.”

David Avila, TheSweetScience.com:

“Before Cotto began training with Freddie Roach, I would have picked Canelo by KO. But Cotto has become a more technical and strategic fighter under Roach. Now, I consider it a deadlocked even fight. I see it ending in a draw.”

CROLLA: I THINK ABOUT WINNING WORLD TITLE EVERY DAY

AWE Live Boxing
San Diego, CA – November, 16 2015 -Anthony Crolla says his desire to win a World title in his hometown will drive him to victory in his rematch with Darleys Perez for the WBA World Lightweight title at the Manchester Arena , This Saturday, November 21, live on AWE–A WEALTH OF ENTERTAINMENT

The fight will be part of a split-site championship doubleheader that will also pit WBO Super Middleweight champion Arthur Abraham defending his title against Martin Murray from Hanover, Germany beginning at 3 PM ET / 12 Noon PT

The Manchester star came within a whisker of ripping the title from the classy Colombian in their first meeting at the Arena in July, which ended in a majority draw. ‘Million Dollar’ was granted an immediate rematch for the title by the WBA, and having already stated he will leave no doubt as to the winner this time, Crolla says he is thinking of the belt being placed around his waist every second of the day.

“I think about winning the World title in Manchester every single day,” said Crolla. “I think about it going into the gym, before I go to sleep, over and over. I am sure the real thing will be even better than how I imagine it, and that is what I want to experience on November 21. I will do everything I can to make that dream come true. It has been a dream since I first laced a pair of gloves, every fighter has the same dream, and there would be no better setting than to do it in front of my home town people.

“The division is very, very strong and it is great to be a part of it. There are four or five fighters in the division who are world-level fighters. There are many great domestic fights to be had for World titles and hopefully I can bring home that title and then I don’t necessarily be needing to go across the pond for big Lightweight fights as there are ones right here in Britain.

“I still get goosebumps thinking about the ring walk now. To have 12,000 people in an arena like that, it was surreal. I am a lad who has been going there since before the Ricky Hatton days, seeing boxers like your Naseem Hameds and your Michael Brodies, to experience it as a fighter, it was a dream come true.”

Crolla faces Perez on a stacked bill in Manchester as the vacant British title at Super-Lightweight is on the line in a rematch between Chris Jenkins and Tyrone Nurse, whilst new Matchroom signing Ryan Burnett faces Jason Booth for the vacant British Bantamweight title.

There’s a pair of English title fights with talented former Team GB man defending his Flyweight title against Liverpool’s Phil Smith and Isaac Lowe defends his Featherweight strap against Manchester’s Ryan Doyle.

Unbeaten Manchester Cruiserweight Hosea Burton meets Tony Hill for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title, and there’s action for former World Bantamweight champion Stuart Hall, former World title challenger Brian Rose and unbeaten youngsters Marcus Morrison and Liam Taylor.

Canelo Alvarez
LONDON (17 Nov) – Boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez has refused to look too far ahead as he prepares for his ’50-50’ fight with WBC middleweight world champion Miguel Cotto.

The stacked 160-pound division is brimming with talent including WBA and IBF knockout king Gennady Golovkin, WBO champion Andy Lee who defends his title against the undefeated Billy Joe Saunders, with Daniel Jacobs set to take on former champion Peter Quillin.

The victors are expected to face each other to determine who is the undisputed number one at the weight but Mexican ace Canelo knows he has it all to do against the legendary Cotto in an edge-of-the-seat BoxNation thriller exclusively live this Saturday night.

“I am 100% focused on this fight. My focus is winning this fight – it’s very important. Whatever happens after this fight, will happen after this fight, but this is my primary focus,” said Canelo.

“The only thing that I am focused on is Saturday night. Once this fight is over, we will determine which direction we will go.

“This is a very difficult fight – it’s a 50/50 fight. I’m here, I’m ready to win, and I’m willing to win. All my fights are necessary to win,” he said.

The bout represents one of boxing’s most anticipated fights this year with both men renowned for their exciting all-action styles.

They have a common opponent in pound-for-pound hotshot Floyd Mayweather, with four-weight world champion Cotto having given the unbeaten star a tougher night when they met back in 2012, something which will have no bearing on this fight according to Canelo.

“You know what, that doesn’t affect me [people saying Cotto did better]. Styles make fights. He may have done better – Cotto might have done better against Mayweather. However, I did better against Austin Trout, and Cotto didn’t do that good against Austin Trout,” Canelo said.

“All fights are different, all styles are different, so that’s not going to affect me at all.

“All of my fights I learned something. There are some important fights, there are some difficult fights, but with all these combined fights you gain experience, and with that experience I’m going to display that on Saturday night,” he said.

Canelo goes into the fight with just that solitary loss on his record to Mayweather having accumulated 45 wins, including 32 knockouts, at just 25 years of age.

The former unified light-middleweight champion will have the chance to become a two-weight world champion against the Puerto Rican Cotto in what is his most significant fight since he shared the ring with Mayweather.

“I’m not worried about the pressure. I am more concerned with the motivation. I am training. I’ve had a lot of fights, and I’ve learned a lot,” said Canelo

“Both of the fights [Mayweather and Cotto] are important. They’re in a different division. The one with Mayweather was for the unification of pound-for-pound, and now this is at a different weight division, so it’s important also.

“Plus, this is Mexico versus Puerto Rico, and more importantly I’m motivated and inspired and looking forward to Saturday.

“It’s going to be a great fight. The styles will accommodate to ensure that. If the knockout comes, it comes, if it doesn’t, I’m prepared for whatever happens in the ring,” he said.

Cotto v Canelo is live on BoxNation (Sky 437/490HD, Virgin 525, TalkTalk 415, online or app) this Saturday night. Visit boxnation.com to subscribe.

MITCHELL SMITH SAYS GEORGE JUPP IS OUT OF HIS DEPTH AHEAD OF MANCHESTER SHOWDOWN

Swaggering super-featherweight starlet Mitchell Smith intends to place capital upstart George Jupp firmly in his place when the pair clash for the WBO Inter-Continental title on Frank Warren’s mega Manchester Arena card on December 19th.

‘I think this is a really good way to finish a good year for me,’ says the 22 year old, presently unbeaten in 13, including seven (often spectacular) stoppage wins.

‘Besides, it’s a pleasure and an honour to get a chance to fight on easily Frank’s best show of 2015. I’ll focus very hard in camp over to Marbella and, on the night, I’ll ‘switch on’. I intend delivering a performance that’ll leave all the fans ranting and raving!’

With three brutal stoppage demolitions over imported competition plus the acquisition of the 2015 Young Boxer of the Year award, the ex ABA featherweight champion from Harrow Weald has established the foundation from which to launch an assault on world glory next year.

‘The plan is to stay in the gym over Christmas then head to the US for sparring in the New Year. In 2016, I aim to stay fit, drop to 9st, pick up the British title and a world rating, then really kick on,’ says ‘King Mitch’ who is ranked eighth in the world at 130lbs by the WBO.

Reigning Southern Area king Jupp is two years older, almost five inches taller and arrives for battle unbeaten in over four years. Nevertheless, as ever, Smith is supremely confident of executing a spectacular stoppage win for his huge battalion of fans.

He says: ‘George has an okay jab and has put together eight decent wins. Because he’s tall and long, he also presents a different style for me to get past, another challenge to conquer and tick off.
‘Look, this is his world title fight. No doubt he’ll train extremely hard but he barely scraped through his Southern Area title fight. He’ll find I’m world class.

‘From our past spars, George knows he can’t win. I know exactly what he’s got and he’s pretty plain. No doubt he’ll run and spoil, try to fiddle his way through to points but once his back hits the ropes I’ll get hold of him.

‘I’d be very, very disappointed with myself if I didn’t knock him out. I feel I’m several leagues above him; I’m too strong and hit way too hard.’

Frank Warren’s end of year title extravaganza ‘X-Mas Cracker’ is headlined by two massive world title showdowns with WBO World Middleweight Champion Andy Lee defending his title against Billy Joe Saunders and WBO World Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Smith making his first title defence against Jimmy Kelly. A staggering SIX further titles are on the line with Mitchell Smith defending his WBO Intercontinental Super-Featherweight title against George Jupp; Paul Butler challenges for the Vacant WBO European Super-Flyweight Championship against Silvio Olteanu; Tommy Langford defends his WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Championship; Commonwealth Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Williams and Kris Carslaw clash with the Vacant British title also on the line; Jack Catterall defends his WBO Intercontinental Super-Lightweight Championship, and Adrian Gonzalez defends his WBO Intercontinental Lightweight Championship. Plus the undercard features Merseyside favourite Derry Mathews and Indian superstar Vijender Singh.

EUDY BERNARDO ADDED TO THE SALITA ROSTER; UNDEFEATED DOMINICAN LIGHTWEIGHT TO CLIMB RATINGS LADDERS

Eudy Bernardo
Brooklyn (November 17, 2015)–His “Brooklyn Brawl” shows are gaining a reputation as a “United Nations” of pugilistic action, and promoter Dmitriy Salita is further cementing that perception with a splashy new signing.

Salita is exceedingly proud to announce that the Dominican Republic contender Eudy Bernardo is coming aboard his promotional vessel.

The 28-year-old righty sports a 20-0 (14 KOs) record, and has an extensive amateur foundation. Now training out of Houston, Texas, with the esteemed former champion Frank Tate, the lightweight Bernardo will soon be making heavy noise in the 135-pound class.

“Eudy is a big lightweight at 5’11”, with power in both hands,” said Salita. “He is considered by many to be the best Dominican prospect out there today. His skills, size and power give him the ability to be dominant in several weight classes. Indeed, he is a world-class prospect who is hungry to compete against the best fighters in his division. I have been hearing about his dominant skills for awhile and am very happy to be working with him!”

The hitter has 128 amateur fights under his belt, and turned pro in 2009; he became the lightweight champion of Dominican Republic in 2010, and has mostly fought in the DR. We can expect to see Bernardo doing his thing in America more, moving forward, and climbing up the ratings ladders. Fans will see an aggressive sort, who has a typical lean “power hitter” frame, can mix it up from the outside or inside, and has a right hand that foes need to be very mindful of.

“Fans know we at Salita Promotions scour the world for talent and will continue to do so,” Salita said. “Our roster is expanding, and shortly, our next compelling show will be announced to the public. We intend to finish the year with a bang, and we thank our fans for supporting us!”

About the Brooklyn Brawls:
“Brooklyn Brawl” is a series of electrifying New York City-based boxing events showcasing the talents and skills of fighters from throughout the city, across the country and around the world. Brooklyn Brawl fighters include veteran boxers working their way toward a world title shot, as well as talented prospects, many of whom have already won prestigious national and international amateur titles, including Golden Gloves championships. Young contenders often challenge veteran boxers in exciting crossroad title fights that bring winners one step closer to a world title.

JAMES DEGALE LONDON MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

LONDON (Nov. 16, 2015) – Two days before he departs for Canada, IBF Super Middleweight World Champion James “Chunky” DeGale (21-1, 14 KOs) held an open media workout at the Stonebridge Boxing Club in London as he nears completion of a 10-plus week training camp for his title defense against former world champion and Canadian fan favorite, Lucian Bute (32-2, 25 KOs), of Montreal, on Saturday, Nov. 28, live on SHOWTIME (11 p.m. ET/PT) from the Vidéotron Centre of Quebec City.

The event billed as “THE RECLAMATION” is a presentation of Vidéotron in collaboration with Mise-O-Jeu.

Here’s what DeGale had to say on Monday:

JAMES DEGALE:
“I think I am the best super middleweight out there right now. There are hard fights in the division. Badou Jack is a good fighter, but I think I beat him and beat him well if I stay switched on for the full 12 rounds.

“Arthur Abraham is still a tough customer and hopefully Martin Murray can do the business. I think he will beat him, although it’s hard to win in Germany.

“I want to prove I am the best, I will go anywhere to do it and that’s why I am defending my title in Canada. All the world champions in Britain have great rivals on the doorstep, so it’s a really exciting time domestically as well for boxing in Britain right now – but I firmly believe I beat everyone in this division.

“I like boxing away from home – maybe it’s time I started being called ‘the road warrior’. I won my world title in Boston and now I am defending it in Canada against a classy opponent in Lucian Bute. I know it’s going to be a hard fight but I am ready for that. My sparring has been great, I am hitting great times on the track, I feel strong in the gym and I am just looking forward to it.

“Nothing changes under Jim McDonnell – it’s all about hard work, long runs up Hampstead Heath, 15 round sparring sessions, five minute rounds in the gym – I’m always in great shape. We haven’t changed anything really. If anything, we’ve had to just adjust the mindset and train like a challenger even though I am the champion. That’s the way you have to think.

“I feel fresh, sharp and ready. I travel on Wednesday and I am raring to go. I just can’t wait to get in there now. I wanted to get out there a good 10 days early to acclimate to the weather and the time. Once I am there, I feel even more switched on.”

Preceding the SHOWTIME telecast will be fights on SHOWTIME EXTREME (9 p.m. ET/PT): Undefeated, world-ranked Amir Imam (18-0, 15 KOs) faces Adrian Granados (14-3-2, 9 KOs) in a 10-round super lightweight match, unbeaten Oscar Rivas (17-0, 12 KOs) collides with Curtis Harper (12-4, 8 KOs) in a 10-round heavyweight scrap and, time permitting, Custio Clayton (4-0, 3 KOs) will be opposed by Ivan Pereyra (19-5, 13 KOs) in a four-/six-round welterweight bout.

UFC® BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPION TJ DILLASHAW COLLIDES WITH DOMINICK CRUZ IN BOSTON

ufc_title-belt_206
Las Vegas – A world title will be on the line in Boston on Sunday, January 17 at TD Garden when UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw seeks to successfully defend his crown for the third time against former WEC® and UFC® bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DILLASHAW vs. CRUZ marks the second championship fight to air on FS1.

Continuing with the tradition of bringing great events to Beantown, Dillashaw (13-2, fighting out of Denver, Colo.) looks to prove he is the undisputed champ of the 135-pound division. With three finishes in as many title bouts, Dillashaw has made his way to the No. 5 spot on the pound-for-pound list. Looking to derail Dillashaw’s momentum is former champion and rival Cruz (20-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.). The inaugural UFC 135-pound king was forced to vacate the title in 2014 after multiple injuries left him unable to compete. Now hungrier than ever, Cruz has his eyes set on regaining the title he never lost in the Octagon.

In the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis (18-3, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wisc.) meets No. 4 Eddie Alvarez (26-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.). Pettis, the No. 1 contender in the 155-pound division, is one of the flashiest strikers in the sport and no doubt has redemption on his mind as he looks to secure another shot at the lightweight title with an impressive win over Alvarez. Meanwhile, Alvarez is the epitome of a Philly-born fighter, and he will have gold on his mind in Boston, as well.

Plus, fifth-ranked Travis Browne (17-3-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) and No. 13 Matt Mitrione (9-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.) clash in a heavyweight showdown. At 6’7” and 255-pounds, Browne is one of the most physically imposing fighters in the sport and packs a punch to match his size. To counter the power of the Hawaiian, Mitrione will look to his athleticism and equally heavy hands as he looks to crack the top 10 of the division with a win.

Additional bouts include:
· A classic grappler versus striker matchup as heavy-handed Tim Boetsch (18-9, fighting out of Sunbury, Penn.) meets submission ace Ed Herman (23-11, 1NC, fighting out of Fort Collins, Colo.) in a light heavyweight bout.

· Lightweight striking sensations Paul Felder (10-2, fighting out of Philadelphia, Penn) and Daron Cruickshank (16-7, 1 NC, fighting out of Detroit, Mich.) collide in an early Fight of the Night contender.

· Streaking welterweight Ben Saunders (19-6-2, fighting out of Orlando, Fla.) meets knockout artist Patrick Cote (23-9, fighting out of Montreal, Quebec Canada).

· Looking for his sixth consecutive win inside the Octagon, Beneil Dariush (12-1, fighting out of Yorba Linda, Calif.) takes on hard-hitting lightweight Mairbek Taisumov (24-5, fighting out of Vienna, Austria), a winner of three straight.

· A battle between heavy-handed heavyweights Sean O’Connell (16-6, fighting out of Salt Lake City, Utah) and Ilir Latifi (11-4, 1 NC, fighting out of Malmo, Sweden).

· Lethal strikers Francisco Trinaldo (18-4, fighting out of Brasilia, Distrito Federal Brazil) and Ross Pearson (20-9, 1 NC, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) square off in a lightweight duel.

· Boston’s own Charles Rosa (10-2, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Fla.) takes on the always dangerous Jimy Hettes (11-3, fighting out of Swoyersville, Penn.) who has 10 submission victories to his name, in a featherweight showdown.

· Two exciting bantamweights square-off as Rob Font (11-1, fighting out of North Reading, Mass.) defends his home turf against Patrick Williams (8-4, fighting out of Homestead, Fla.).

For the latest information on additional bouts for this event, please visit www.ufc.com. All bouts live and subject to change.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DILLASHAW vs. CRUZ will air live on FS1 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Sunday, January 17, with the prelims kicking off the evening on FS1 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 5:45 p.m. ET/3:45 p.m. PT.

GEORGE JUPP SLAMS MITCHELL SMITH

Southern Area super-feather king George Jupp warns that he won’t be the only fighter stepping up in class when he confronts Harrow Weald’s high-flying Mitchell Smith on Frank Warren’s unmissable ‘X-Mas Cracker’ bill at Manchester Arena on December 19th.

‘Mitchell’s a very good all rounder, easily my toughest test, but he ain’t beaten anyone great. Who’s he fought? I’m his toughest opponent to date,’ maintains the 24 year old from Belvedere who challenges for his ex spar mate’s WBO Inter-Continental title over 10 rounds.

The rangy 5ft 9½ in stylist not only enters with significant physical advantages over the compact champion but is unbeaten for over four years, having triumphed in each of his last eight gigs.

Particularly merit worthy were an eighth round stoppage of ex English title challenger Terry Flanagan, plus ten round wins over Georgia’s Gia Atenov (one loss in 11) and Lowestoft’s Craig Poxton (8-2).

He showed his mettle by rising from a third round knockdown against Atenov.

‘The Georgian was probably the weakest puncher I’ve boxed. It was just a fluke shot, a balance thing. I was a bit apprehensive that night, jumping up from six rounds to ten but I got a good work out,’ states the one time scaffolder who made the NACYP final and boxed for Young England prior to joining the paid brigade at 19.

‘Winning the Southern Area (against Poxton) was a good achievement but probably my worst performance as a pro. Everything went wrong. I had severe nose trouble from round one, damaged my left hand in round two and really had to grind out a win. I’ll be a million times better, come my big night.’

Coached and managed by ex pro welterweight Derek Grainger at the Ringside Gym in Bow, east London, the 2010 London ABA finalist is chomping for the chance to showcase his skills to BoxNation viewers and a huge live audience next month.

‘I’ll not be daunted. Loads of people have been asking for tickets. I’m really buzzing for it,’ insists the jab and move specialist.

‘I had 11 weeks for the original October 30th date (Smith withdrew injured) and only took eight days out the gym before slowly easing back into it.

‘I’ve done plenty of strength work and we’ll gradually step back into the boxing. The plan is to go over to Norfolk for some sparring with the Walshes (Liam and Ryan) who are slippery and emulate Mitch in size and strength, if not style.

‘I’ve already trained for three 10 rounders and I’ve always had a good engine so the distance and pace won’t be a problem. The focus has been more on fighting my fight not Mitchell’s.

‘Mitch and I sparred a few years back and I know that on my day, I can mix at that level. If I stick to my plan, I can upset him and that could open doors to massive things, really push my career on.’

A staggering SIX further titles are on the line with Mitchell Smith defending his WBO Intercontinental Super-Featherweight title against George Jupp; Paul Butler challenges for the Vacant WBO European Super-Flyweight Championship against Silvio Olteanu; Tommy Langford defends his WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Championship; Commonwealth Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Williams and Kris Carlow clash with the Vacant British title also on the line; Jack Catterall defends his WBO Intercontinental Super-Lightweight Championship, and Adrian Gonzalez defends his WBO Intercontinental Lightweight Championship. Plus the undercard features Merseyside favourite Derry Mathews and Indian superstar Vijender Singh.

BOXING GREATS HATTON AND NAZ STUMPED ON PICKING A WINNER IN LEE V SAUNDERS CLASH

Ricky_Hatton
British boxing royalty Ricky Hatton and Naseem Hamed both believe the big end of year blockbuster showdown between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders on Saturday 19th December at the Manchester Arena is too tough to call.

Lee’s WBO World Middleweight title defence against Saunders, his undefeated mandatory challenger, features alongside another big world title fight between WBO World Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Smith making the first defence of his title against Jimmy Kelly, with SIX further big title fights, exclusively live on BoxNation.

Manchester legend Hatton, a four-time and two-weight World Champion, and the British boxings superstar of the noughties who made the Manchester Arena his fortress, said, “For big blockbusters fights at the Manchester Arena, Lee v Saunders is up there with the best. You’ve got the raw, tough, aggression of Lee who’s got the power to turn things around with one punch, matched against the master boxer in Saunders who has the slick and technical ability. This is a real 50/50 fight and for once I’m stumped on picking a winner.”

The decade before The Hitman was ruled by Sheffield showman Naz, a three-time World Featherweight Champion, who lit up the arena with his own brand of fireworks, said, “This is the fight of the year for me because in my eyes you’ve got two guys who are going to have a real fight, not like Floyd Mayweather Jnr. or Manny Pacquiao, they’re not interested in offence, you know these guys aren’t going to run. It’s a 50/50 fight.”

JOSH KOSCHECK MAKES BELLATOR MMA DEBUT AGAINST MATT SECOR IN MAIN EVENT OF BELLATOR 148 ON JANUARY 29

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (November 16, 2015) – The highly anticipated Bellator MMA debut of Josh Koscheck (17-10) will take place in his home town of Fresno, Calif. on January 29 at “Bellator 148: Koscheck vs. Secor.” The popular welterweight will look to make a splash of an entrance against a streaking Matt Secor (7-2).

Bellator officials also announced an additional welterweight attraction between British slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley (37-13-2) and Andy Uhrich (11-5) will serve as the co-main event.

The “Bellator 148: Koscheck vs. Secor” event takes place January 29 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. and airs live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream on Spike.com at 5 p.m. PT. Tickets for the event start at only $25 and go on sale at the Save Mart Center Box Office, as well as Ticketmaster and Bellator.com this Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT.

One of the most recognizable faces in all of mixed martial arts, “Kos” feels re-invigorated since signing with the Scott Coker-led promotion and has plans for an active 2016. With bouts against some of the most prominent names in the sport already on his resume, the 37-year-old hopes to be involved in big fights under the bright lights that only Bellator MMA and Spike can bring to the table.

Koscheck’s first test in his new promotion will come in the way of Secor, a competitor who has rallied off three-straight victories, most recently an impressive Achilles lock against Jeremie Holloway at “Bellator 144: Halsey vs. Carvalho” in October. Submissions are a specialty of the New York native, with six of seven wins coming by way of tapout.

Since returning to the Bellator MMA fray, Daley has been on an absolute tear, winning two fights in as many tries. Now, the prominent British fighter has his eyes set on a welterweight title run, and would definitely enjoy a future opportunity to avenge a controversial loss against a familiar foe in Koscheck.

Standing opposite of Daley will be Uhrich, a Strikeforce veteran who has seen mixed success under the Bellator MMA banner. Most recently, “Stunner” has put together three consecutive victories and returns to the California-based promotion with the hope of derailing Daley’s championship hopes.

Undefeated blue-chip prospect Toka Kahn-Clary Liberia native making name in America

Toka Khan Clary
PROVIDENCE (November 16, 2015) — Undefeated featherweight prospect Toka “T-Nice” Kahn-Clary (16-0, 10 KOs) may be the best, relatively “unknown” prizefighter in the country, at least outside of New England.

A decorated American amateur who had a 131-11 record, highlighted by a gold-medal performance at the 2010 National Golden Gloves Tournament, Kahn-Clary returns to the ring this Saturday night (Nov. 20) at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas against Mexican opponent Sergio “Cuatito” Lopez (19-9-1, 13 KOs) in what is supposed to be Kahn-Clary’s last scheduled eight-round bout before he graduates to 10-rounders.

“He’s a tough Mexican fighter who can box a little on the outside,” Kahn-Clary spoke about his next opponent, “but he comes forward, too. He’s experienced and has been in with a lot of good opponents.”

Lopez is a serious test for any prospect. His last three fights include a loss to 18-0 Alejandro Luna (KO4) this past August, 10-round split draw with 24-7-1 Joksan Hernandez, and a stunning fifth-round technical knockout of 16-0 Victor Betancourt.

“Lopez is a gamer,” Kahn-Clary’s head trainer Peter Manfredo, Sr. added. He’s tough but our plan is for Toka to take him apart and eventually take him out. Toka’s not far away from a really big fight, maybe 8-10 months. We were offered a big fight but, we need one 10-round fight first, and he get that fight early next year.”

Kahn-Clary, fighting out of Providence, is coming off his most notable victory as a professional last June, in which he stepped up in class to take on 33-11 Jonathan Perez, the former Colombian super bantamweight and World Boxing Council (WBC) champion. Kahn-Clary stopped Perez in the sixth round of their fight on a card headlined by Timothy Bradley’s interim world welterweight title win over Jessie Vargas at StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The 23-year-old, who was born Toka Kahn, will never face obstacles in the ring more difficult to overcome than his early life experiences. Now a blue-chip prospect, he was born in Liberia and came to America with his younger sister to join their father when he was only six. He lived in Philadelphia only one year before his father was killed in a shooting. Toka’s arduous journey continued as he and his sister moved to Providence, where they lived with foster parents who, frankly, didn’t care what happened to them.

All signs pointed to Toka getting in trouble on the Providence streets as a youngster, particularly at times, when he was homeless. Fortunately, though, a friend brought him to Manfredo’s Gym in Pawtuckert, RI. Boxing truly saved his life. Manfredo, USA Boxing New England president Jim Perella and the couple that eventually adopted him, Andrea Watson and Ron Clary, dramatically changed his life.

Kahn-Clary signed a promotional contract with Top Rank, which, along with manager Mike Criscio and Manfredo, have moved Kahn-Clary at a steady, upward pace. Kahn-Clary, incidentally, will be fighting for the third time this year, after having five last year.

“Top Rank has done a good job keeping me busy,” southpaw Kahn-Clary commented. “I know that it takes time to climb the ladder and I still need to improve a few things. I need to beat a top fighter to get into the world rankings. I’ll be ready when I get that call.

“I’m ready right now for a 10 or 12 round fight. I’ve done a lot of sparring to help me get ready to step up. I’m excited about fighting 10 and 12 round fights because it’ll be a test for me and I love to be test. The top guys in my division are the (Gary) Russell, (Vasyl) Lomachenko and (Leo) Santa Cruz. I have the skills and heart to compete with them.”

Quality sparring in New England is at a premium, especially for a smaller-weight fighter such as Kahn-Clary, who has gained invaluable experience sparring with WBA super featherweight Javier Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KOs), three-time US Olympian Rau’shee Warren and his fellow New England and friend, New Haven’s Luis “KO King” Rosa (21-0, 10 KOs).

“Peter (Manfredo) and me travel to Worcester (MA) and Connecticut to get good work,” the gifted boxer-puncher Toka-Kahn explained. “It’s been a great help for me. I’ve gotten a lot of valuable experience in there with fighters like Fortuna and Warren. I’ve seen their ring generalship, their movement, and I’ve learned from them. They’re smart. I’ve learned from them, even try to copy them. It’s not just about sparring, which is a learning experience. If you don’t learn from sparring, all you’ll ever be is a sparring partner.”

Manfredo has been around and he realizes that his prize student, Kahn-Clary, will need to go away to training camp for good sparring when he starts fighting 10-rounders. “I’m good friends with Freddie Roach and we’ll go out to California and train at the Wild Card Gym,” Manfredo concluded. “I’m very happy with the way Toka’s been moved. I have faith in Brad Goodman, who is one of the best, if not the best matchmaker in the world. They’ve moved Toka along at a good pace. They know what they’re doing.”

Meanwhile, Toka Kahn-Clary plans to make his name in boxing next year. First, though, he has to get past Lopez this Saturday night to keep his momentum going.

Follow Kahn-Clary on Twitter and Instagram @TokaKahnClary, or friend him on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/tokakahn.

ONE CHAMPIONSHIP™ ANNOUNCES COMPLETE CARD FOR ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II)

16 November 2015 – Beijing, China: The largest sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), in partnership with Wujie, has announced the complete fight card for ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II). The headline matchup features a ONE Championship unification bout as ONE Featherweight World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa squares off with interim champion Marat “Cobra” Gafurov. The card will also feature the conclusion of the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II, which will crown this year’s tournament champion.

CEO of ONE Championship, Victor Cui stated, “We are delighted to be back Beijing with another round of world-class MMA action for fight fans across the mainland. We have two world title fights set up for fans in attendance, as well as a featherweight tournament to determine the best featherweight in the country. Don’t miss an epic night of bravery and sportsmanship, as showcased by our ONE Superstars!”

ONE Championship and Wujie recently announced a monumental partnership that will see the two organizations work together to hold an unprecedented 26 exciting new events all across mainland China in a two year period. The collaboration will provide an opportunity for both fans and athletes to showcase ONE Championship’s unique brand of world-class mixed martial arts and sports entertainment.

With an impressive victory over Martin Nguyen last month, the undefeated Marat “Cobra” Gafurov (12-0) of Russia captured the interim ONE Featherweight World Championship via another signature submission finish. Gafurov has been on an absolute tear, blazing a trail of exciting wins in ONE’s loaded featherweight division. He will now look to unify the featherweight titles against incumbent champion Narantungalag Jadambaa.

Narantungalag Jadambaa (10-3-0) is a Mongolian kickboxer and is the reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion. Jadambaa has been eyeing his return to the ONE Cage ever since he captured the title with a victory over Koji Oishi last year. Now, he’ll get the chance to defend his belt for the very first time against an extremely formidable opponent in Marat Gafurov.
Fans can expect a scintillating battle of prime featherweights as Gafurov and Jadambaa both aim to become the undisputed ONE Featherweight World Champion.

In what will serve as the co-main event of the evening, ONE Flyweight World Champion, Adriano Moraes (13-1-0) of Brazil, will return to the ONE Cage to put his title on the line against one of Kazakhstan’s top flyweights in Kairat Akhmetov. Moraes is on a four fight win streak which includes capturing the world title last year. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist is ready to stand his ground and defend his belt against Akhmetov who will pose as his biggest test to date.

Kairat Akhmetov (22-0) of Kazakhstan is undefeated with an outstanding record of 22 wins with no losses. The 28-year old has finished 18 of his opponents by either knockout or submission and will look to have the same success in his ONE Championship debut. In a world title bout that will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats, Akhmetov is ready to compete for the belt against Adriano Moraes when they meet at the center of the ONE Cage.

In a China Warrior Bout, 19-year old Li Wei Bin (3-1-0) out of Chongqing faces “The Wolverine” Wang Ya Yong (1-0) of Shanghai. Both combatants are primed and ready for the big stage as they plan to put on a show for their countrymen on the largest platform in Asia.

Veteran welterweight from Seltso, Russia, Nikolay Aleksakhin (15-3-0) will make his highly-anticipated ONE Championship debut against Mongolian slugger, Burenzorig Batmunkh (8-2-0). Aleksakhin is currently riding a five-fight win streak, which includes three technical knockout victories. The two warriors will do battle inside the ONE Cage and will look to surprise the crowd with intense action.

Up and coming welterweight from Taipei, Jeff “The Machine” Huang (5-2-0) will return to the ONE Cage looking to avenge his most recent defeat in a rematch with Trestle Tan (3-4-0) of Manila, Philippines. Huang and Tan faced each other earlier this year, with Tan scoring a TKO victory over Huang, seconds into the very first round. Now, Huang is out for vengeance as he gets his wish for a rematch.

In the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II Semi-Finals, Zhang Jia Cai (1-0) battles Qiao Long Fei (3-1-0) as Yang Sen (2-0) locks horns with Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De (4-1-1). Ma Jia Wen (1-1-0) squares off with Wang Ya Wei (3-1-0) in the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II Alternate Bout.

Rigondeaux_Looknongyantoy_140719_001a
LAS VEGAS (Nov. 14, 2015) – The night of Saturday, Nov. 21 is one for which many are predicting a showdown of epic proportions when Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) and Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) do battle at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
