Miami, OK (November 14, 2015) – Rising heavyweight sensation Trey Lippe-Morrison of Tulsa, OK continued his march towards becoming a player in the heavyweight division by scoring a devastating 80 second knockout of Bobby Thomas at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK.

Fighting in front of a sold out crowd and with legendary trainer Freddie Roach in his corner, Lippe-Morrison was a man on a mission from the opening bell. With his fans cheering him on in hope of another knockout, Lippe-Morrison connected with a hard right hook to Thomas’ head just over a minute into the opening stanza, sending Thomas to the canvas. The referee started to count before realizing Thomas was in no position to continue, waiving the bout off at 1:20.

“I love working with Freddie Roach because he’s getting me polished,” Lippe-Morrison said after the dominant performance. “I didn’t have an amateur career so he’s really helping me with the learning curve.”

Lippe-Morrison, who is now 10-0 with all of his wins by knockout, is pleased with his performance but insists he isn’t hunting for knockouts.

“Believe it or not, I’m not gunning for quick knockouts but they’re coming and I’m happy to please the fans. I’m continuing to improve as a boxer under Freddie’s watch and will consult with my team about the next step.”

Baltimore, MD (November 5, 2015) – Baltimore Boxing Club and founder Jake Smith have been featured in Under Armour’s new commercial for the Muhammad Ali Collection.

Based out of Baltimore, Under Armour is a global giant for sports clothing and accessories, making a name for themselves in the boxing world during the last few years.

Recently, Under Armour filmed fighters training at the Baltimore Boxing Gym while Smith gave instructions, followed by an intense sparring session. The commercial also features highlights from Ali’s career followed by boxing superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez discussing what made Ali successful before showing one of Canelo’s training sessions.

“Under Armour has been a great supporter of local boxing and my gym in particular,” said Smith. “They’ve done filming here before and sponsored the recent Regional Qualifiers for the Olympic Trials here in Baltimore. Lakeland, FL (October 11, 2015) – Undefeated light heavyweight Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic wasted no time in getting rid of Brazilian power puncher Gilberto Domingos yesterday evening at the Florida Orange Event Center in Lakeland.

Headlining Mad Integrity Fight Sports’ “Bombs Away 4,” Kalajdzic had a vocal group of supporters backing him and was on the attack from the opening bell. Kalajdzic connected with quick punches to Domingos’ mid section, hurting him just seconds into the fight. A visibly hurt Domingos unsuccessfully attempted to move and tighten his guard, finding himself on the canvas courtesy of a stinging combination. Moments later, the popular Saint Petersburg, FL resident unleashed another combination to deck Domingos for a second time, mercifully forcing the stoppage at 1:32 in the first of a scheduled eight rounds.

“He left his body open and I knew if I connected he’d go down,” said Kalajdzic, who moved up to cruiserweight for this fight to accommodate Domingos and is now 20-0 with 13 wins by knockout. “It feels great to fight (close to home) and I would love to keep fighting here. I don’t care who I fight as long as the money is right, but I’ll let (my promoter) Lou DiBella handle that.”

Domingos returns to Sao Paulo, Brazil with a record of 24-4 (21 KO’s).

In the co-feature, hometown favorite Leanthony “Tyga” Fleming won a competitive decision against a very game Randy Hedderick. Coming in at a fit and ready 146.2 lbs, Fleming showed good movement ring generalship, leading with his jab throughout the bout. Hedderick wasn’t intimidated by fighting on the road and effectively pressured the Lakeland native in spurts.

Scores were 40-36 and 39-37 twice. Fleming is now 1-1 while his Gulfport, MS based foe slips to 0-5.

Miami’s Armando “The Gentleman” Alvarez, 8-0 (4 KO’s) dominated grizzled veteran Juan Aguirre, 6-16-1, of Jacksonville, FL. The long and lean Alvarez consistently connected with sharp punches, maintaining an impressive pace throughout the six round junior middleweight contest. Aguirre, who took many clean punches, was never in serious danger of being stopped and displayed a great chin.

All three judges scored the contest 60-54.

In the fight of the night, Clearwater, FL’s Alex Nicholson scored a dramatic second round knockout of fellow debuting heavyweight Joseph White. Nicholson, who was outweighed by 40 pounds, nearly dropped White for the count at the end of the first but the Miamian made it back to his feet a split second before the bell sounded. In the second, White temporarily turned the tides by rocking Nicholson. Damaged but not defeated, Nicholson unleashed a vicious hook that put White down for the count at 2:24.

In other undercard bouts, junior lightweight Michael Guillen twice dropped and dominated Curtis Vert, while Wytama Faulk edged out Clark Brightwell in a lightweight contest.

Prior to the main event, Mad Integrity Fight Sports presented a birthday cake to close friend and junior middleweight contender “Silky” Wilky Campfort while recognizing notable fighters in attendance including uncrowned junior lightweight champion Edner Cherry. Fans were also treated to an outstanding rendition of the national anthem by American Idol finalist Jeremy Rosado.

Bayamon, Puerto Rico (September 15, 2015) – Last Saturday, featherweight contender Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle saw fellow Puerto Ricans Jonathan Oquendo and Ramon “Rocky” Martinez in exciting fights as part of the Floyd Mayweather-Andre Berto undercard.

Having lost three prior bouts against championship level fighters, Oquendo was out to prove that his fourth time would be a charm against two-division titlist Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico. A considerable underdog, Oquendo overcame a first round knockdown to drop Gonzalez the very next round en route to an entertaining majority decision victory. The win was the biggest of his career and puts him in position for a world title shot.

Later that evening, Martinez defended his WBO Super Featherweight championship against Orlando Salido. Known among Puerto Rican fans for twice knocking out highly touted Juan Manuel Lopez, Salido won titles at 126 and 130 pounds and looked to avenge a prior loss against Martinez. In the third round, Salido scored a controversial knockdown but himself ended up on the canvas later in that stanza courtesy of a Martinez right hand. From there, Martinez and Salido showed why Puerto Rico vs Mexico is regarded as boxing’s best rivalry, going to war until the final bell. The fight was ruled a split draw and a third match will likely take place.

Like his countrymen Del Valle, 19-2, has had ups and downs in his career. In 2011, he scored a career best win against highly regarded Dat Nguyen to capture the NABA featherweight crown in New York City less than 24 hours before the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Unfortunately, his two defeats came on big stages against former two-division world champion Vic Darchinyan and more controversially to unbeaten contender Luis Rosa. Following the March 2014 setback against Rosa, Del Valle took time away from the ring and was granted a release from his promotional and managerial contracts. Understanding that he was in a tougher spot than a few years prior, he carefully evaluated his options.

This past March, Del Valle resurfaced by scoring an 8th round stoppage over gatekeeper Roberto Castaneda and signing with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports. After the win, he entertained a few fight offers and is expecting to fight a few more times in 2015. The performance by his countrymen last Saturday night however put him in a whole different mindset when he went to the gym the next morning.

“I was extremely impressed by Rocky and Oquendo,” said Del Valle. “Both suffered multiple defeats but overcame them by performing on a huge stage last week. After watching the fights, I sat back and realized that could be me if given a similar opportunity. It truly inspired me to train harder because I want to make Puerto Rico proud!”

Without an official date set for his next match, Del Valle is hoping he receives a spot on Miguel Cotto-Saul “Canelo” Alvarez undercard and promises to excite if given the opportunity.

Tulsa, OK (August 4, 2015) – Heavyweight knockout king Trey Lippe-Morrison is now training under Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.

A seven-time Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Trainer of the Year, Roach’s resume is amongst the greatest in history. During the last quarter century, Roach trained countless greats including Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, Mike Tyson, Wladimir Klitschko, James Toney, Michael Moorer, Ruslan Provodnikov Amir Khan and Guillermo Rigondeaux amongst others. In 2012, Roach was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.

“Freddie and I connected well during our first session,” said Lippe-Morrison, who was previously trained by fellow legend Jesse Reid before logistics amicably ended their relationship. “It means the world that Freddie wants to work with me because I’m only 8-0. The fighting pride of Charm City, Pettway stopped Gianfranco Rossi in 1994 to become the IBF junior middleweight champion. When Brown crashed to the canvas, the force of Pettway’s punch discombobulated him to the point that he literally threw punches at the air. New York, NY (July 6, 2015) – WBC-USNBC junior middleweight champion Captain Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson received the Humanitarian Award from the WBC during their NABF convention last weekend in San Francisco, CA.

A success since first putting on a pair of gloves as a Plebe (freshman) while attending West Point, Melson won various tournaments as an amateur prior to capturing the WBC-USNBC crown with a career-best performance against Mike Ruiz in May. Since turning pro in 2010, Melson’s donated 100% of his fight purse earnings and helped raise more than $300,000 towards stem cell research in lieu of America’s first clinical trial to help cure Chronic Spinal Cord Injuries. His ultimate goal is to see his best friend Christan Zaccagnino, who was paralyzed from her neck down from a childhood diving accident, walk again.

Last month, Melson and other supporters of Team Fight to Walk had an emotional meeting with Congress in Washington, DC to push for the trial to officially be approved. The meeting was a major success and Congressman Chaka Fattah is a big believer in the trials, which produced outstanding results when it was conducted in China. Team Fight to Walk hopes to officially get the green light for the US trial in the very near future.

Recently, Melson was invited to San Francisco for the convention to discuss the WBC’s initiative to sponsor different amateur boxing programs. After receiving his award, Melson and the WBC discussed details of their plan to become more involved with amateur boxing in the public service sector. Miami, OK (May 31, 2015) – Renowned heavyweight up and comer Trey Lippe-Morrison remained perfect as a pro following yet another impressive knockout yesterday evening at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK.

Fighting in front of a sellout crowd, something he’s become accustomed to as a member of Holden Productions’ “Four State Franchise”, Lippe-Morrison faced Thomas Jones in the six round main event. With legendary trainer Jesse Reid in his corner for the first time, Lippe-Morrison scored an impressive second round stoppage of Jones. After dominating the first round, Lippe-Morrison unleashed a vicious combination that badly staggered Jones, forcing his corner to throw in the towel just 35 seconds after the start of the round.

Lippe-Morrison, who lives in Tulsa, is now 8-0 with all of his victories by knockout.

Kenzie Witt of Bartelsville, OK went the distance for the first time as a pro but improved to 5-0 following a four round unanimous decision over Kansas City MO’s Lucas Overcast. Witt was in control throughout but gained valuable experience against the game Overcast. Witt, who is the half brother of Lippe-Morrison, stopped his previous four opponents inside the first round.

“Four State Franchise” member Jesse Cook (14-1-1, Seneca, MO) battled to an eight round draw in a welterweight contest against Kevin Womack (5-5-2, Baltimore, MD) and his brother Dillon Cook (14-0, Seneca, MO) stopped Joe Jiles (3-5, McAlester, OK) in the opening round of a junior middleweight bout. Undefeated welterweight prospect Jarrett Rose of Bartlesville upped his record to 7-0 by stopping Robert Seyam in the third round, while Kathina Catron and Juan Parra each won four round decisions.

The card was also broadcasted by Hall of Famer Al Bernstein and Oklahoma City boxing legend Sean O’Grady on KSNF and Cox Cable. Fans in the Four State Area (Missouri, Kansas Oklahoma and Arkansas) received the broadcast courtesy of a new television deal that will continue during the next card at the Buffalo Run Casino.

Smith, a longtime promoter in the Charm City and former professional boxer, was personally impacted by the riots as his gym was temporarily shut down. Having spent his entire life in and around Baltimore, Smith called the riots the worst thing he’s ever seen and feared for the safety of those that had neighboring businesses. Within a few days, order was restored due to an outstanding effort by the Baltimore PD.

New York, NY (May 7, 2015) – Eleven months ago, popular 154 pounder Captain Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson was training for a career changing fight with contender Glen Tapia. Against Tapia, who is considered amongst the top rising stars in America, Melson was taking a significant step up in competition and training like a madman so he’d shine when it mattered most. Unfortunately, an injury forced him out of the bout and a rematch was never scheduled.

Between other opportunities not coming through and obligations outside of the squared circle, Melson’s been inactive since a gutsy February 2014 win over Donald Ward. Against Ward, the 2003 West Point grad literally fought with one arm, overcoming a stretched brachial plexus which caused temporary paralysis in his right arm during the last five rounds of the bout.

At 8 PM, an Olympic style boxing card titled “Beatdown at the Beach” takes place at the Ocean City Convention Center. In association with this exciting night of fights, Baltimore Boxing is proudly teaming up with the Worcester County Humane Society’s efforts to find new homes for shelter animals. Baltimore, MD (April 28, 2015) – As the rioters tear through the streets of Baltimore, MD, boxing promoter and gym owner Jake “The Snake” Smith remains extremely concerned for his friends, family and community. Like many other locals, Smith not only calls the Baltimore area his home but a place where he makes a living.

Having spent his entire life in and around Baltimore, Smith’s two children attend nearby schools and his Baltimore Boxing Gym is located on S. Broadway. For the safety of those that attend, Smith closed his gym yesterday and is keeping the doors shut today as well. Due the violent protests of Freddie Gray’s death, Smith isn’t positive when he will be able to continue training his boxers, many of whom use the Baltimore Boxing Gym as a resource to escape the preexisting dangers of the streets.

New York, NY (April 26, 2015) – Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson will serve as a special guest speaker Tuesday, April 28 as part of a special fundraiser for the Rutgers Student Society for Stem Cell Research. Oklahoma City, OK (April 16, 2015) – Undefeated heavyweight sensation Trey Lippe-Morrison is now being trained by Hall of Famer Jesse Reid.

One of the great trainers in boxing history, Reid is a member of the World Boxing Hall of Fame. Overall, Reid’s trained more than 20 world champions including Johnny Tapia, Hector Camacho, Orlando Canizales, Bruce Curry, Roger Mayweather, Reggie Johnson and Paul Spadafora amongst others. With more than 40 years of experience in developing top fighters, Reid’s globally recognized as one of the best in the business.

“This is a big change from Oklahoma but one I needed,” said Lippe-Morrison, who started camp a few days ago. “I’m extremely grateful that Jesse is training me. He’s a legend and we clicked immediately. There’s a lot of talent here and I’ll have the chance to spar with some very good fighters. Training and sparring with top fighters will help show me where I’m truly at.”

A dynamic puncher who draws comparisons to his legendary father Tommy Morrison, Lippe-Morrison is 7-0 with all of his victories coming by knockout. In his most recent bout, Lippe-Morrison flattened veteran Richard Dawson in two minutes and one second. Between his heavy hands, potential and familiar surname, the 25-year-old Lippe-Morrison is considered one of the top American heavyweight prospects. Even with the relocation for training camp, Lippe-Morrison remains a member of the popular “Four State Franchise” which fights in front of sellout crowds at the Buffalo Run Casino.

“Trey has exceptional hand speed and footwork for a heavyweight and he’s very tough,” said Reid. “He’s got a great attitude and is eager to learn.
