TOKYO, JAPAN – December 9, 2015 – RIZIN FF officials announced today that the highly anticipated rematch between Akebono and Bob Sapp will be contested under Shoot Boxing rules on Thursday, Dec. 31, and that BAMMA fighter Brett McDermott has been named the new opponent for “King Mo” Lawal in the eight-man heavyweight Grand Prix elimination tournament, following the withdrawal of BAMMA champion Mark Godbeer last week due to injury.

In K-1 rules action, it was announced that Hiroya Kawabe will face striking phenom Akiyo “Wicky” Nishiura on Tuesday, Dec. 29, and Takeru Segawa will square off with Chinese Muay Thai champion Yang Ming on December 31.
Shoot Boxing founder and CEO, Cezar Takeshi joined RIZIN FF Chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara, General Manager Nobuhiko Takada, Sapp, Akebono, Segawa, and producer Kensaku Maeda at a press conference in Tokyo to make the announcements.

“I have been seeking advice about what rules the highly anticipated rematch should be held under, and Mr. Cezar introduced me to the idea where both fighters will be able to maximize their potential,” said Sakakibara.

“The new K-1,” continued Sakakibara, “has become popular in such a rapid rate, and I am happy that they are going to be sending their top, young talent to our ring. We would like to match both K-1 representatives up with tough opponents.”

Sakakibara also mentioned that Nam Jin Jo has injured his knee during training and was forced to withdraw, so Felipe Efrain from Shoot Boxe Academy will be facing Yuki Motoya.

Sakakibara closed his announcement by describing the details of the three-day, free-of-charge fight expo, which will begin on December 29, and include amateur MMA bouts and an open grappling tournament.

The rematch between Akebono and Sapp and the bout between Segawa and Ming join matchups between Yuichiro Nagashima and Andy Souwer, and Asen Yamamoto and Kron Gracie on December 31st.

He continued on about the legendary fight, “The ratings for that fight was unreal. And that same fight will be coming back. There are many opinions about this fight, but that is what makes it so exciting. Many fighters will be motivated to gather all the attention which will lead to better performance. This fight has many meanings behind it.” Takada added,” If Akebono wins, maybe next year?” and teased everybody about a possible rubber match. Takada announced that Cezar Takeshi was assigned as the referee for this fight and asked him not to trip during the fight.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic (December 7, 2015) — Russian fighters dominated the recent 2015 World MMA Championships (WMMAA), winning gold medals in six of seven divisions to easily capture the team title, in Prague, Czech Republic.

On the strength of Zaur Gadzhibabaev’s victory in the heavyweight competition, Azerbaijan won a silver medal in terms of quality medals won in team competition. Gadzhibabaev became the first two-time WMMAA champion. In quantity of medals earned, Kazakhstan won five silver and one bronze medal, second only to Russia with seven, including six golds and one bronze.

In other team scoring, Latvia and Tajikistan both won silver medals; China, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia took home two bronze medals apiece; Greece, Colombia, Czech Republic and Ukraine all earned one bronze medal.

In the main event of the evening, Lowen Tynanes of Ewa Beach, Hawaii scored a third-round submission victory over Russia’s Rasul Yakhyaev to extend his unbeaten streak to eight wins and no losses. The first round had the fighters sizing each other up with various grappling moves. In side control, Tynanes started to connect with overhand rights. A testy second round witnessed increased striking rates and ended with the Hawaiian landing a couple of well-timed kicks to a downed Yakhyaev. Tynanes then took full control of the third, utilizing his wrestling and grappling technique to subdue the Russian on the ground, sinking in a deep choke to force the tap.

In the co-main event, Malaysia’s Gianni Subba improved his MMA record with a split decision win over Thailand’s Anatpong Bunrad in a flyweight match that never once went to the ground. Subba showed icy composure as he weathered a storm of kicks from Bunrad and landed a series of highly accurate punches and elbows that had Bunrad’s nose bleeding heavily from the second round. In the end, Subba did just enough to earn the judges’ nod, moving him closer to a title shot.
Indonesia’s Mario Satya Wirawan made ONE Championship history, scoring the fastest knockout ever recorded after dispatching Cambodia’s Chan Heng in just 6 seconds of their bantamweight bout. Wirawan’s very first punch put Chan on his back, and the follow-up head kick gave referee Olivier Coste no option but to call a halt to the bout contest.

Cambodian judo expert Meas Meu collected another impressive victory in the ONE Cage with a first-round TKO stoppage of bantamweight Chan Sam Art. Meas started out hard and fast to stagger his rival, at one point picking Chan up and dumping him onto the canvas before dominating the ground exchange with a barrage of blows. The referee jumped in to wave off the contest shortly after.

Sim Bunsrun battled through adversity in an energetic flyweight clash against fellow Cambodian, Khon Sichan. Both fighters’ striking skills were in full display early on, but as the fight went to ground, Bunsrun started to connect with heavy elbows. With Sichan starting to lose control of the match, Bunsrun moved to secure an armbar submission, forcing the tap out with just five seconds remaining in the first round.

Indian female atomweight Jeet Toshi earned a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Cambodia’s Tharoth Sam. Toshi came close to a finish in the first round through strikes and an armbar submission, but ‘Little Frog’ Tharoth escaped to bring the crowd to their feet with an inspirational comeback in the subsequent round. Toshi controlled the ground game well in the third, with Tharoth barely making it through to the final bell.

Cambodian fighters Sor Sey and Chim Chetra put on a superb show in their featherweight battle that saw them go all out from the opening bell. An explosive first round had both men connecting with hard fists, elbows and knees throughout. The high intensity was matched in the second, as Sor Sey began to exert dominance on the ground, moving to top position and forcing a referee stoppage due to strikes just over a minute into the round.

Veteran Kun Khmer fighter Mission Ali went up against the youthful tenacity of fellow Cambodian featherweight Rin Saroth in the night’s second match up. As soon as the bell sounded, the contest quickly went to the ground, with Saroth executing a textbook armbar submission to earn the victory.
Eh Ya Nut and Vy Srey Chai kicked off ONE: KINGDOM OF KHMER with a battle between two emerging Cambodian female flyweights. A tentative opening round was followed up by a stronger showing in the second, with both fighters scoring knees in the clinch and trading strikes on the ground. In the closing round, fierce exchanges pumped up the crowd as Vy Srey Khouch received the victory by split decision.

PETERSBURG, Russia (December 4, 2015) – In a much anticipated rematch, Viktor Nemkov recaptured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title, winning a hard-fought five-round decision over defending champion Stephan “T-800” Puetz, in the M-1 Challenge 63 main event, at the Sports and Concert Complex in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In the co-feature, M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramazan Emeev successfully defended his crown, as American challenger Luigi “The Italian Tank” Fioravanti was unable to continue after four rounds.

Undefeated in four previous M-1 Global fights to date, Puetz (13-2-0, 5 KO/TKO, 4 SUB) captured the M-1 Challenge title 1 ½ years ago with an entertaining five-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov, who was making his first title defense after having defeated Vasily Babich (SUB2 – arm-lock) two years ago for the vacant title.

Puetz came into his rematch with Nemkov off a sensational SuperFight victory this past May against M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura, whose severely broken nose halted the action in the third round at M-1 Challenge 57.

Kazakhstan-native Nemkov, who fights out of Stary Oskol, Russia, had won two straight fights since he lost to Puetz, of Germany, including an impressive decision in his last action over always tough Maro Perak.

Two-time M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, Emeev (13-3-0, 3 KO/TKO, 6 SUB) is a native of Dagestan who fights out of Makhachkala, Russia. He first won the M-1 Challenge championship in 2012 at M-1 Challenge 35, taking a decision from Mario Miranda, who Emeev defeated four months later by third-round knockout at M-1 Challenge 38. At M-1 Challenge 51, Emeev was stopped in the fourth round by Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, who lost the title back to Emeev by fifth-round submission this past April at M-1 Challenge 56.

Fioravanti (26-14-0, 10 KO/TKO, 7 SUB), representing American Top Team, is a popular fighter out of Orlando, Florida. He was coming off a second-round win by submission (choke) last July against Sergey Kovalev at M-1 Challenge 59.

Georgian light heavyweight Raul Tutarauli (6-2-0, 5 KO/TKO, 1 SUB) registered a huge upset, knocking out Russian Alexey “Ataman” Makhno (10-4-0, 4 KO/TKO, 1 SUB) in the second round.

Russian light heavyweight prospect Rashid Yusupov (7-0-0, 2 KO/TKO, 2 SUB) remained undefeated, taking a three-round unanimous decision from German foe Martin “King Kong” Zawada (26-14-1, 16 KO/TKO, 5 SUB)).

Unbeaten featherweights Mikhail Korobkov (9-0-1, 1 KO/TKO, 6 SUB), of Russia, and Brazilian invader Rodrigo Magalhaes (7-0-1, 0 KO/TKO, 6 SUB) fought to a three-round draw.

In preliminary card action, veteran Ukrainian lightweight Alexander Butenko (39-11-2) and Russian featherweight Zalimbek Omarov (6-1-1) won three-round unanimous decision, respectively, over Heydar Mammadaleiv (8-2-0), of Azerbaijan, and Ukrainian Artem “Iron” Lezhnev (7-5-0). SANTA MONICA, Calif. (December 4, 2015) – Bellator MMA’s Bantamweight Championship will be on the line in a rematch pitting Marcos “Loro” Galvao (17-6-1) against former champion Eduardo “Dudu” Dantas (17-4) at Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas, on February 26.

In addition, hometown favorite, David Rickels (16-4, 1 NC) will return to action against an opponent that will be revealed at a later date. “The Caveman” always comes ready to put on a show, whether it’s on his way to the cage, or when he’s taking on a who’s who of Bellator MMA lightweight talent.

The main event, as well as Rickels’ fight will make up two of the televised contests at “Bellator 150: Galvao vs. Dantas,” which airs live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream on Bellator.com at 7 p.m. ET. Additional fights will be announced shortly.

A rib injury sustained by Dantas during training camp forced him to withdraw from his previously scheduled title shot at“Bellator 144: Halsey vs. Carvalho.” Now fully recovered, promotional officials have rebooked the tilt.

“Loro,” who has fought for world-renowned promotions the likes of World Extreme Cagefighting and Shooto since 2003, will be competing for the 11th time under the Bellator MMA banner. The 34-year-old is presently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak and has emerged victorious in seven of his last eight scraps. In his last outing, Galvao finished Joe Warren at “Bellator 135: Warren vs. Galvao” via submission to win his first-ever championship.

Meanwhile, Dantas will be looking to duplicate the success he had against Galvao in their first meeting, which resulted in a second-round knockout at “Bellator 89.” The 26-year-old Nova Uniao product bounced back from his unanimous decision loss against Warren to dispel of Mike Richman in the same manner at “Bellator 137: Halsey vs. Grove.” The Bellator Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament winner is looking to call himself a two-time bantamweight champion come October 23.

The preliminary card will stream live in its entirety, on an embeddable video player on WSOF.com, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Also featured on the undercard bill will be a welterweight (170 pounds) showdown between Abubakar Nurmagomedov, who will return to the decagon cage after a successful World Series of Fighting debut, to face Danny “Dee1” Davis, Jr.

Nurmagomedov (10-1) of Dagestan, Russia earned a unanimous decision over Jorge Moreno at WSOF22 on August 1. The bout marked the first time in his career that Nurmagomedov, whose previous nine victories all came by way of (T)KO or submission, required the judges’ scorecards to declare him the victor of a fight.

Davis Jr. (11-9-1) of Las Vegas is looking to return to the win column after a close, split decision loss to Matthew Frincu at WSOF23 on September 18, snapped a five-fight win streak that Davis, Jr. had been riding. The last three wins in Davis’ run all came under the World Series of Fighting banner.

In a light heavyweight (205 pounds) attraction, aggressive-minded finisher Andreas “Sweet Swede” Spang will battle undefeated wrecking machine Shamil Gamzatov.

Fighting out of Las Vegas where he trains under guru “One Kick” Nick Blomgren, the 37-year-old Spang, who has earned six of nine career wins by way of (T)KO or submission, will enter the cage for the first time in 2015. In his last effort, he notched a unanimous decision over J.A. Dudley on December 5, 2014.

Also making his first start of the year, the 25-year-old Gamzatov (9-0) of Makhachkala, Russia is the number four ranked light heavyweight in Ukraine. To date, all of his victories have come by way of (T)KO or submission.

In a matchup between two fearsome, undefeated featherweights (145 pounds) rising stars, Hakeem “Mean” Dawodu will lock horns with Marat Magomedov.

Dawodu (5-0) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada is a 24-year-old protégé of renowned Muay Thai master Mike Miles and a five-time veteran of World Series of Fighting competition. To date, Dawodu has scored (T)KO victories on all five of his opponents, including his last two adversaries – Tristan Johnson and Chuka Willis – whom he defeated by way of third round (1:59) TKO (punches) on February 12, and by way of second round (2:55) TKO (knees and elbows) on June 5, respectively.

Magomedov (7-0) of Dagestan, Russia is looking for his second win of 2015 after finishing Husanboy Ataghanov by way of first round (4:35) submission (rear-naked choke) on September 18. The 25-year-old has been taken the distance of a fight only once, earning all six of his other career wins via submission.

In the opening WSOF26 preliminary card bout, Gil Guardado will mix it up with Giga Chikadze at lightweight.

Guardado (4-1) of Las Vegas is a 30-year-old member of Xtreme Couture’s fight team seeking his second win of the year after submitting Pete Martin with a guillotine choke in the first round (3:31) of their bout at WSOF22. All four of Guardado’s wins to date have come by way of (T)KO or submission.

Chikadze (1-0) of Huntington Beach, Calif. via Tbisili, Georgia is a 27-year-old seasoned kickboxer who has twice competed for Glory where he holds a record of 1-1 and scored a first round KO on Ken Tran on May 8.

TOKYO, JAPAN (Nov. 30, 2015) –A drawing to determine the tournament brackets and first stage matchups for the RIZIN FIGHTING GRAND-PRIX 2015 eight-man, heavyweight tournament that will take place over the course of two days – December 29 and December 31 – and will award its winner a grand prize of $300,000, was held today in Tokyo.

BAMMA Heavyweight Champion Mark Godbeer, who had been scheduled to compete in the tournament, was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury sustained in training. BAMMA will announce a replacement fighter for the tournament soon.

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 24, 2015) – World Series of Fighting announced today that it has added three new bouts to complete the main card for “WSOF26: Palmer vs. Almeida,” which will be headlined by a world championship showdown between reigning featherweight kingpin Lance Palmer and Alexandre Almeida, at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 18, live on NBCSN, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

Ozzy Dugulubgov vs. Nic Herron-Webb

The 26-year-old Dugulubgov (7-2) of Hackensack, N.J. is looking to notch his third consecutive win and second of 2015, following a first round (3:39) TKO (arm injury) of Lucas Montoya on April 10. Prior to his latest conquest, Dugulubgov, a Renzo Gracie protégé that boasts a near-perfect record of 4-1 in World Series of Fighting competition, scored a highlight reel-worthy KO (punch) of Keon Caldwell in the third round (1:38) of their matchup on September 13, 2014.

Herron-Webb (18-6) of Anchorage, Alaska is a 25-year-old, former welterweight (170 pounds) who has been fire, winning all four of his last bouts by way of submission, to arrive at his debut with World Series of Fighting. To date, 14 of Herron-Webb’s 18 professional career wins have come by way of submission, 8 of which he produced inside the first round of battle.

Josh Hill vs. Bekbulat Magomedov

A former World Series of Fighting championship challenger, Hill (12-1) of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada went the distance with reigning bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes before finding himself on the losing end of a unanimous decision on February 12.

The 28-year-old has since re-grouped after what marked his first career defeat, and reeled off two consecutive wins outside of the World Series of Fighting decagon – a third round (2:01) submission (rear-naked choke) of Josh Rettinghouse on May 30, and a unanimous decision over Ion Vranceanu on August 31.

Magomedov (16-0) of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, will risk his perfect record in the U.S. for the first time ever, after a run that has distinguished the 24-year-old Sambo champion as the number two ranked featherweight in Ukraine and the number seven ranked featherweight in Russia.

Of Magomedov’s 16 professional career victories, 8 have come by way of (T)KO and 3 have come by way of submission.

Robbie Peralta vs. Sheymon Moraes

Making his World Series of Fighting debut, Peralta (18-6, 1 NC) of Escondido, Calif. has served up several memorable moments in the cage with his punching power, notching 13 of his 18 professional career wins to date by way of (T)KO. The 29-year-old made his first big mark in the sport on April 9, 2011 when he scored a major upset over then-DREAM champion Hiroyuki Takaya by way of split decision under the promotion of the now-defunct Strikeforce.

Moraes will look to rebound after suffering his first professional defeat at the hands of reigning World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes on August 1. Prior to the title fight, the dangerous 25-year-old member of Team Nogueira had appeared to be unstoppable, scoring (T)KO wins over four of his first seven opponents.

This season of The Ultimate Fighter will begin filming in January and is scheduled to premiere on FS1 in April 2016.

Eustaquio, known for his well-rounded striking game, will need to outwork his opponent to emerge victorious in his home turf and return to his winning ways.

Yang Jian Bing is one of the most promising young flyweights to come out of China. With five victories on his professional record, including three submissions, Yang is a nightmare matchup for anyone in his division. Despite the remarkable success he’s had in grappling, Yang considers striking to be his forte and will look to take the fight straight to Geje Eustaquio of the Philippines.

Eugene Toquero is one of the most exciting fighters to come out of Manila. His time inside the ONE Cage has been memorable, as he’s delighted fans with impeccable striking and flashy combinations. The former celebrity MMA trainer recently fell short of victory at ONE: TIGERS OF ASIA when he lost to Riku Shibuya via unanimous decision. Toquero is set to do battle with Wu Ze, who represents a chance for him to get back on track for a title shot in the future.

Chinese flyweight Wu Ze has seven years of mixed martial arts training, with a strong background in Sanda and Wrestling. A first degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and world champion in No Gi, Pucci is famous for finishing all his fights via his favourite submission move, the Rear Naked Choke. Pucci’s winning streak came to a devastating halt when he lost to Major Overall last year at ONE: HONOR & GLORY. He is determined to get back on the right track, this time against Anthony Engelen.

Anthony Engelen is a Dutch fighter who trains full-time in Indonesia. Just like his next opponent, Engelen’s strength lies in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, making his match a potential war of attrition on the ground. ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II) rocked the arena with a series of exciting fights, including a spectacular main event. In an intense battle of two champions, Marat “Cobra” Gafurov successfully unified the ONE Featherweight World Championship with a technical submission victory over Narantungalag Jadambaa.

In the main event of the evening, Marat “Cobra” Gafurov of Russia overcame a spirited effort from now former champion Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia to win by technical submission in an exhausting title bout. Jadambaa proved to the world that his striking is an absolute force to be reckoned with, battering Gafurov with well-timed kicks and pinpoint punching. Gafurov however, dominated from top position with various submission attempts and ground-and-pound. In the end, Gafurov secured a breathtaking rear naked choke to put Jadambaa to sleep, coercing referee Olivier Coste to call a halt to the contest.

In the co-main event, Greco-Roman wrestling specialist Kairat Akhmetov showcased his superior takedown ability to remain undefeated by trumping now former champion Adriano Moraes to capture the ONE Flyweight World Championship. Although Moraes led slightly with his revamped striking technique, Akhmetov scored on multiple takedowns and nullified the Brazilian’s submission attempts with top control. Judges scored the bout in favor of Akhmetov by split decision after five rounds.

Yang Sen took the fight straight to opponent Zhang Jia Cai to win by impressive Kimura submission in the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II final bout. Yang beat Zhang to the punch on numerous occasions and commandeered the action on the mat to set up the spectacular finish. With the victory, Yang maintained his undefeated record and was crowned tournament champion.

In an evenly matched flyweight contest, Li Wei Bin and Wang Ya Yong both put on an amazing display of grit and heart for three gruelling rounds. The two fighters maintained a fast pace throughout, with Li utilizing well-calculated strikes to keep Wang at bay. A spinning backfast landed for Wang in the second round but Li accomplished more down the stretch. Two judges had Li winning the fight as he was awarded with a split decision victory.

Nikolay Aleksakhin of Seltso, Russia utilized world-class wrestling to punish Burenzorig Batmunkh of Mongolia en-route to an impressive submission finish. Aleksakhin dominated his opponent on the ground and also established command in the striking department, highlighted by a spinning backfist in the final round. After three rounds of action, Aleksakhin was able to secure the rear naked choke, compelling Batmunkh to tap out.

Jeff “The Machine” Huang evened the score with Trestle Tan by scoring a quick technical knockout victory over the Filipino mixed martial artist. Tan blasted Huang with a combination to open the bout but Huang was able to secure a clinch up against the cage where he tagged Tan repeatedly with uppercuts, forcing the stoppage just moments into the first round.

Ma Jia Wen figured in a phenomenal performance against Wang Ya Wei as he trounced his opponent from start to finish with devastating power shots from all angles. Ma showcased dynamic striking technique and good range awareness to keep Wang at a distance, unable to take the fight to the ground. After two rounds of absolute dominance, the Tianjin native simply would not be denied of victory as he defeated Wang by unanimous decision.

Zhang Jia Cai got the better of the exchanges and showed solid submission defense against Qiao Long Fei who had no answer for Zhang’s tenacity. Zhang pummeled Qiao repeatedly with powerful strikes and dictated the action on the feet. On the mat, Zhang was able to lock in a modified rear naked choke from the side, forcing Qiao to tap out in the first round.

Mixed martial artist Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De and Sanda specialist Yang Sen kicked off ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II) with a classic battle between grappler and striker. Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De tried to control the action from top position but Yang’s striking superiority shone through as he repeatedly blasted his opponent with heavy strikes. In the end, two judges saw the fight for Yang who took the bout by split decision.

Phoenix, Ariz. (November 19, 2015) – All eight lightweight (155 pounds) athletes competing in the inaugural World Series of Fighting (WSOF.com) one-night, eight-man tournament made weight one day before the historic affair at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Friday, Nov. 20, live on NBCSN at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

Additionally, all eight other fighters on the “WSOF 25: 8-Man Lightweight Tournament” card, including co-main event opponents Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High and Estevan “El Terrible” Payan, made weight. High tipped the scales at 155.7 pounds, while Payan clocked in at 155.2 pounds.

Brian Cobb and Benny Madrid, who had been slated for action in the tournament and a tournament reserve fight, respectively, were both rendered unable to compete in their scheduled commitments earlier today after becoming ill.

Originally slated to face LaRue Burley (6-1) in reserve fight action, Joe Condon (12-8) will replace Cobb in the tournament and square off with Cobb’s scheduled opponent, Mike Ricci (10-4), in the quarterfinal stage of the event.

Burley, meanwhile, will battle Ramil Mustapayev (3-1), who was originally slated to fight Madrid, in what will be the sole reserve bout of the night.

The winner of the tournament, who will have fought three times tomorrow, will be named the new number one contender in the World Series of Fighting lightweight division, and will challenge undefeated, reigning champion Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje (14-0) for his title.

The four-fight, live NBCSN telecast will include the two semifinal stage tournament bouts, the co-main event and the tournament’s championship round showdown.

The live telecast will be preceded by a seven-bout live stream on an embeddable video player on WSOF.com, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The stream will include all four quarterfinal stage tournament matchups as well as the tournament reserve bout and two non-tournament preliminary card bouts.

LAS VEGAS (November 16, 2015) –The complete fight card and bout order for World Series of Fighting’s highly-anticipated “WSOF 25: 8-Man Lightweight Tournament” extravaganza at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz. is set for Friday, November 20.

Headlined by the first one-night, eight-man tournament in World Series of Fighting history, the event will kick off with a preliminary bout card that will stream live, worldwide on an embeddable video player on WSOF.com, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The live stream will be comprised of eight bouts, including all four quarterfinal stage matchups in the lightweight (155 pounds) tournament that will crown its winner, who will have fought three times in one night, the new number one contender in the coveted weight division.

The four-fight, live NBCSN telecast will begin at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT with the two semifinal stage tournament bouts, and conclude with the tournament’s championship round showdown.

The non-tournament, lightweight co-main event contest between Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High (18-5) of Kansas City, Mo. and rival star Estevan Payan (16-8) of Tempe, Ariz. will take place between the conclusion of the second semifinal stage tournament bout and the championship round fight.

In one tournament bracket, Luis “Baboon” Palomino (23-11) of Miami, Fla., coming off another “Fight of the Month” performance at WSOF 23 in September, will square off with rising star Rich Patishnock (6-2) of East Stroudsberg, Pa., while Brian Foster (23-7) of Sallisaw, Okla., fresh off a thunderous, first round (:32) KO of previously unbeaten LaRue Burley at WSOF 23, will collide with streaking submission wizard Joao Zeferino (18-6) of Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

In the opposite bracket, wrestling and submission ace Brian “The Bandit” Cobb (20-8) of Bakersfield, Calif. will battle Firas Zahabi-trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Mike “The Martian” Ricci (10-4) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, while Islam Mamedov (12-1) of Jersey City, N.J. via Derbent, Dagestan, Russia will put his phenomenal, 11-fight winning streak on the line against five-time, one-night tournament winner and Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jorge “Macaco” Patino (38-15-2, 1 NC) of Houston, Texas via Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The winner of the quarterfinal stage bout between Palomino and Patishnock will meet the winner of the fight between Foster and Zeferino in the semifinal stage of the single-elimination affair, and the winner of the matchup between Cobb and Ricci will face the winner of the bout between Mamedov and Patino in the semifinal stage of the tournament.

Leading off the preliminary bout card will be the first of two tournament reserve bouts –Benny Madrid (8-3) of Phoenix vs. Ramil Mustapayev (3-1) of Albuquerque, N.M. via Ossetia, Russia, which will be followed by the second tournament reserve fight – LaRue Burley (6-1) of Phoenix vs. Joe Condon (12-8) of Victorville, Calif.

The preliminary bout card will conclude with a 165-pound catchweight tilt between Jimmy Scully (3-3) of Phoenix and Roberto Yong (2-3) of Glendale, Ariz. and a bantamweight (135 pounds) battle between Joseph Barajas (11-1) of Vista, Calif. and Erik Villalobos (3-0) of Glendale.

Las Vegas – A world title will be on the line in Boston on Sunday, January 17 at TD Garden when UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw seeks to successfully defend his crown for the third time against former WEC® and UFC® bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DILLASHAW vs. CRUZ marks the second championship fight to air on FS1.

Continuing with the tradition of bringing great events to Beantown, Dillashaw (13-2, fighting out of Denver, Colo.) looks to prove he is the undisputed champ of the 135-pound division. With three finishes in as many title bouts, Dillashaw has made his way to the No. 5 spot on the pound-for-pound list. Looking to derail Dillashaw’s momentum is former champion and rival Cruz (20-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.). The inaugural UFC 135-pound king was forced to vacate the title in 2014 after multiple injuries left him unable to compete. Now hungrier than ever, Cruz has his eyes set on regaining the title he never lost in the Octagon.

In the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis (18-3, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wisc.) meets No. 4 Eddie Alvarez (26-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.). Pettis, the No. 1 contender in the 155-pound division, is one of the flashiest strikers in the sport and no doubt has redemption on his mind as he looks to secure another shot at the lightweight title with an impressive win over Alvarez. Meanwhile, Alvarez is the epitome of a Philly-born fighter, and he will have gold on his mind in Boston, as well.

Plus, fifth-ranked Travis Browne (17-3-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) and No. 13 Matt Mitrione (9-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.) clash in a heavyweight showdown. At 6’7” and 255-pounds, Browne is one of the most physically imposing fighters in the sport and packs a punch to match his size. To counter the power of the Hawaiian, Mitrione will look to his athleticism and equally heavy hands as he looks to crack the top 10 of the division with a win.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (November 16, 2015) – The highly anticipated Bellator MMA debut of Josh Koscheck (17-10) will take place in his home town of Fresno, Calif. on January 29 at “Bellator 148: Koscheck vs. Secor.” The popular welterweight will look to make a splash of an entrance against a streaking Matt Secor (7-2).

Bellator officials also announced an additional welterweight attraction between British slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley (37-13-2) and Andy Uhrich (11-5) will serve as the co-main event.

The “Bellator 148: Koscheck vs. Secor” event takes place January 29 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. and airs live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream on Spike.com at 5 p.m. PT. Tickets for the event start at only $25 and go on sale at the Save Mart Center Box Office, as well as Ticketmaster and Bellator.com this Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT.

One of the most recognizable faces in all of mixed martial arts, “Kos” feels re-invigorated since signing with the Scott Coker-led promotion and has plans for an active 2016. With bouts against some of the most prominent names in the sport already on his resume, the 37-year-old hopes to be involved in big fights under the bright lights that only Bellator MMA and Spike can bring to the table.

Koscheck’s first test in his new promotion will come in the way of Secor, a competitor who has rallied off three-straight victories, most recently an impressive Achilles lock against Jeremie Holloway at “Bellator 144: Halsey vs. Carvalho” in October. Submissions are a specialty of the New York native, with six of seven wins coming by way of tapout.

Since returning to the Bellator MMA fray, Daley has been on an absolute tear, winning two fights in as many tries. Now, the prominent British fighter has his eyes set on a welterweight title run, and would definitely enjoy a future opportunity to avenge a controversial loss against a familiar foe in Koscheck.

Standing opposite of Daley will be Uhrich, a Strikeforce veteran who has seen mixed success under the Bellator MMA banner. Most recently, “Stunner” has put together three consecutive victories and returns to the California-based promotion with the hope of derailing Daley’s championship hopes.

The headline matchup features a ONE Championship unification bout as ONE Featherweight World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa squares off with interim champion Marat “Cobra” Gafurov. The card will also feature the conclusion of the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II, which will crown this year’s tournament champion.

With an impressive victory over Martin Nguyen last month, the undefeated Marat “Cobra” Gafurov (12-0) of Russia captured the interim ONE Featherweight World Championship via another signature submission finish. Gafurov has been on an absolute tear, blazing a trail of exciting wins in ONE’s loaded featherweight division. He will now look to unify the featherweight titles against incumbent champion Narantungalag Jadambaa.

Narantungalag Jadambaa (10-3-0) is a Mongolian kickboxer and is the reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion. Jadambaa has been eyeing his return to the ONE Cage ever since he captured the title with a victory over Koji Oishi last year. Now, he’ll get the chance to defend his belt for the very first time against an extremely formidable opponent in Marat Gafurov.
Fans can expect a scintillating battle of prime featherweights as Gafurov and Jadambaa both aim to become the undisputed ONE Featherweight World Champion.

In what will serve as the co-main event of the evening, ONE Flyweight World Champion, Adriano Moraes (13-1-0) of Brazil, will return to the ONE Cage to put his title on the line against one of Kazakhstan’s top flyweights in Kairat Akhmetov. Moraes is on a four fight win streak which includes capturing the world title last year. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist is ready to stand his ground and defend his belt against Akhmetov who will pose as his biggest test to date.

Kairat Akhmetov (22-0) of Kazakhstan is undefeated with an outstanding record of 22 wins with no losses. The 28-year old has finished 18 of his opponents by either knockout or submission and will look to have the same success in his ONE Championship debut. In a world title bout that will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats, Akhmetov is ready to compete for the belt against Adriano Moraes when they meet at the center of the ONE Cage.

In a China Warrior Bout, 19-year old Li Wei Bin (3-1-0) out of Chongqing faces “The Wolverine” Wang Ya Yong (1-0) of Shanghai. Both combatants are primed and ready for the big stage as they plan to put on a show for their countrymen on the largest platform in Asia.

Veteran welterweight from Seltso, Russia, Nikolay Aleksakhin (15-3-0) will make his highly-anticipated ONE Championship debut against Mongolian slugger, Burenzorig Batmunkh (8-2-0). Aleksakhin is currently riding a five-fight win streak, which includes three technical knockout victories. The two warriors will do battle inside the ONE Cage and will look to surprise the crowd with intense action.

Up and coming welterweight from Taipei, Jeff “The Machine” Huang (5-2-0) will return to the ONE Cage looking to avenge his most recent defeat in a rematch with Trestle Tan (3-4-0) of Manila, Philippines. Huang and Tan faced each other earlier this year, with Tan scoring a TKO victory over Huang, seconds into the very first round. Now, Huang is out for vengeance as he gets his wish for a rematch.

In the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II Semi-Finals, Zhang Jia Cai (1-0) battles Qiao Long Fei (3-1-0) as Yang Sen (2-0) locks horns with Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De (4-1-1). Ma Jia Wen (1-1-0) squares off with Wang Ya Wei (3-1-0) in the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II Alternate Bout.

Jake Matthews scored a stoppage after round two in his boiut with Akbarh Arreola in a Lightweight bout.

Arreola’s right eye was badly swollen and face was a bloody mess after being on the receiving end of countless blows in round two and fight was stopped just before the 3rd round commenced.

Kyle Noke scored a 1st round stoppage over Peter Sobotta in a Welterweight bout.

Noke landed a kick to the body that sent Sobotta down. Noke jumped on Sobotta and landed a huge flurry of punches on the ground and the fight was stopped at 2:01.

Noke, 169 lbs of Albuquerque, NM is 22-7-1. Sobotta, 169 lbs of Ballign, GER is 15-10-1.

Gian Villante scored a 1st round stoppage over Anthony Perosh in a Light Heavyweight bout.

Villante landed a perfect right down the middle on Perosh’s chin that dropped him and the fight was stopped at 2:56.

Villante, 205 lbs of Bellmore, NY is 14-6. Perosh, 205 lbs of Sydney, AUS 15-10.

Danny Martinez won a 3-round unanimous decision over Richie Vaculik in a Flyweight bout.

Scores were 30-27 on all cards for Martinez, 125 lbs of San Diego, CA and is now 18-7. Vaculik, 125 lbs of Sydney, AUS is 10-5.

Ben Nguyan made Ryan Benoit tap out from a rear-naked choke at 2:35 in round one of their Flyweight bout.
