NEW YORK (JUNE 10, 2022)–Three Split-T Management fighters will be on display in New York this weekend,

Starting on Friday night at The Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, 2021 Olympic Bronze Medal winner Oshae Jones will make her pro debut against Sonya Dreiling in a six-round welterweight bout.

Jones, 24 of Toledo, Ohio began boxing at the age of 12, spawning a magnificent amateur career that saw her amass a record of 60-9 whilst competing all over the world.

Oshae received the key to her hometown, and was honored with a parade upon coming home with her Olympic Bronze Medal.

She dominated and won many prestigious tournaments such as the 2020 Stramdja, 2020 Boxam International, 2017 Eastern Elite Qualifier, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Elite Nationals, as well as the 2016 Youth Open and 2014 National PAL.

Two of Oshae’s most significant victories came when she received the Gold Medal at the 2019 Pan Am Games and finished first at the 2020 United States Olympic Trials.

Dreiling of Fort Payne, Alabama is 4-2 with two knockouts. The 32 year-old Dreilng is a three year professional, and has a win over Jordanna Garcia (4-0-1).

At Thursday’s weigh-in, both fighters checked in at 147 3/4 lbs.

On the same card at Turning Stone, heavyweight Joe Jones (13-4, 10 KOs) takes on Amron Sands (11-2, 9 KOs) in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

Jones of Lynchburg, Virginia is coming off a second round stoppage over former world title challenger Junior Wright on December 2nd in New York. Jones also has a first round stoppage over previously undefeated Montez Brown (8-0).

Sands of Orlando, Florida is looking to get back in the win column after dropping his last two bouts.

Jones weighed 210 lbs. Sands was 282.
Saturday night in New York, undefeated junior welterweight Omar Rosario looks to make it 7-0 when he takes on fellow undefeated Julio Rosa at The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Rosario of Caguas, Puerto Rico is 6-0 with two knockouts. The 24 year-old is looking better with each outing as he has wins over three undefeated fighters, Uriel Villanueva (1-0), Wilfred Mariano (3-0) and Marc Misiura (2-0). Rosario is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over Raekwon Butler (4-1) on January 15th in Verona, New York.

Rosa (4-0, 1KO) of Orlando, Florida, is a two-year veteran and is coming off a career best win when took a six-round split decision over previously undefeated Michael Garcia (4-0_. on February 26th in Orlando.

June 10, 2022, Miami — Luis Rodriguez, (8-0, 8 KOs) from Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, fights on Saturday night at Casino Miami Jai Alai, Miami, on his one-year anniversary of his professional debut. Saturday will be fight nine in one calendar year. He will be featured on the card headlined by the Trevor Bryan vs Daniel Dubois world heavyweight championship fight, which can be seen on inDEMAND PPV and on FITE TV.

Rodriguez will battle Ryan Adams (8-5-1, 6 KOs), from Saint Louis, in a scheduled six-round super middleweight bout, in what is sure to be his toughest test to date.

The 25-year-old Rodriguez, who decided to bypass the Tokyo Olympics to turn pro, was a five-time Puerto Rico National Champion.

Rodriguez’, whose team includes renowned boxing attorney Tony Gonzalez and promoter, Rivalta Boxing, made his pro debut on June 11, fought again on June 26 then once per month for the next four months.  His knockouts have come in rounds 2, 1, 4, 1, 2, 2, 1 and 4 respectively.

“I am very excited to be fighting on a Don King card and be able to showcase my talent to boxing fans around the world live on FITE TV and PPV,” said Rodriguez. “I can’t wait to get in the ring on Saturday night!”

“Saturday night will be Luis’ ninth fight in twelve months,” said Gonzalez. “Our pedal to the metal philosophy continues. We try to get him in the ring once a month to get him as much professional experience as possible.  Every fight he has we try to make it a little tougher.  Soon we hope to have Luis fight back home to Puerto Rico where ideally he would fight for a regional belt before his home crowd.”

“I’m very honored to be fighting on such a big weekend on SHOWTIME. This is my first main event and the toughest fight of my pro career so I’m very prepared and I will show just how prepared I am.

“It hasn’t been that hard for me to switch styles and transition from the amateurs to the pros. But I understand that the opponents will get better, but so far up until this point there’s not a big difference.

“I’m looking at my opponent as just another fighter. I’m not looking at him as a special fighter. I do respect him as a fighter. I do understand he’s a tough guy, never been knocked down, but I look at any fight in the world as just another fight. I’m just getting ready to fight. I’m only looking forward to the world championship fight and that’s what I’m concentrated on. This to me is just another fight.

“If the knockout comes it comes but I’m not chasing it. I never chased it in the amateurs or the pros. It’s just when I land on people they get hurt. If I wanted to, I could drop anyone with a punch, a straight right, left, a body shot, in sparring people go down from jabs, body shots. I’m not looking for it, but if the punch lands clean, it doesn’t matter what punch it is. I’m 250 pounds and whatever I touch it will be painful. 

“My father’s dream and my dream was for me to become an Olympic champion. When I went to the Olympics the first time in 2016, I was young. My dad passed away a little bit earlier than the Olympics in 2016, so I knew I wasn’t going to leave amateur boxing without Olympic gold. It was my dream and it was my father’s dream.”

“I know I have the tools to beat Jalolov and looking at him I know he’s an Olympic champion, but he never had an opponent like me. He never faced someone who’s as hungry and who can take a punch and can give a punch back and come forward the whole time. So we’re going to see on Friday what he’s all about. I think I have more experience in the heavyweight ranks than him, and I believe I have more strength and power than him and better fitness. It’s going to be a great fight.

“This is a big opportunity to show the American fans what I’m all about. In the Frank Sanchez fight (UD loss in 2019), I had way less experience than I have now. I got a new trainer (Ivan Filipovi?) and we’ve been working and we’ve been working on a lot of things and I’ve proven that I’m a different fighter now than I was back then. Now I’m much more of an aggressive fighter and smarter when I fight.

“I’ve always been a basketball fan and a big Michael Jordan fan. My dream was to get into the NBA, so I came to the United States and played college basketball. I even wanted to be an NBA draft pick but I signed with a manager who advised me to play overseas so I played in Italy, Belgium, France. I had a good basketball career, but I got into a car accident and injured my left knee badly so I had to say goodbye to basketball. I gained a lot of weight, so I started boxing to lose weight and I was starting to build muscle that I didn’t have so I tried it out and I loved it. It’s my last chance to make it in sports so I went for it.”

George Arias

“This fight is just like most of my other fights. I always look at it as every guy that I’m fighting is a world championship fighter. I don’t ever look at anybody and treat them as a stepping-stone. I’ve always gotten ready the right way and taken them very seriously because everybody who gets in front of me is somebody that’s trying to disrupt my journey. I take it seriously and I’m always very grateful for every opportunity.

“To be honest, I can’t think that this fight card being during Hall of Fame weekend will be a factor for me. Once I’m in the locker room and I’m getting wrapped up, this is all I can think about. It’s the only thing. Now, it is very nice that the Hall of Fame is going on at the same weekend but as far as I’m concerned, I’m just thinking that I’m going up against a monster and I can’t afford to glamorize what possible meaning the weekend might have in store for other people. For me, it’s a war.

“I’ve studied guys before, and then when I fight them, they’re nothing like what I studied. So I’ve gotten used to not trying to put people in a box based on their previous fights. So I think it will take a round or two of me seeing him in person before I figure him out.

“One thing that has helped me improve is that I had to admit to myself, ‘I may not be the biggest puncher.’ So I can’t stand toe-to-toe with guys thinking that I’m going to get one big punch on them. I believe that by understanding that my footwork, my jab and my boxing is really my forte and would allow me to establish myself more and more. The biggest learning experience has been that I’m not a knockout puncher as much as I am a boxer and if I’m going to hurt you, it will probably be in the later rounds.”

Alante Green

“When I heard about the change in opponents, I said, ‘Bring it on.’ I trained hard for this fight so I’m ready for this opportunity. Camp went really well. I’ve been getting great sparring. I’m in great shape so it really hasn’t been a change for me at all. I’ve fought on the same card as Arias before, and I don’t believe that he’s anything that I haven’t seen before.

“We’ll see how it goes after I get this win whether or not I stay at heavyweight. If it makes sense, then yes, we’ll take every opportunity. That’s always been the plan. After I win a title at cruiserweight, go back up to heavyweight. I think that if it makes sense, I’ll definitely stay at heavyweight. But for right now, I’m really a cruiserweight. That’s what I prefer to be. I look leaner. I’m faster and stronger than all of my opponents.

“I didn’t start boxing until I was 18. Before boxing, I played football. When I was in high school, I had a boxing coach come in and we did a couple classes. After I graduated, I finally had the time and started training. It’s been up ever since then.

“When I switch up to southpaw, it really just happens naturally. I’m a big Terence Crawford fan, so I saw him doing it. I always tried it in sparring and in training. I’m pretty comfortable on both sides.”

Tyler Tomlin

“There’s always pressure to leave a lasting impression. You want to get in there and not just get the win, but leave people with an image that will last and put you in the conversation with a lot of these other top prospects. Obviously, we want to get the win and stick to the game plan, but if I see an opportunity to dazzle, I’m going to do that.

“This is my first TV fight but I’ve fought on some undercards in Vegas. But this is my first time on a big show with the big cameras and the big crowds. I’m used to the big crowds because I do have such a big fan base at home. But you add TV to it and that adds a little bit of pressure. But I’m used to it and I’m just going to get in there and take it like another day at the office for me.

“There are some things I do similar [to Caleb Plant]. Some of the outside work, some of the defense stuff. But he’s more of a slick boxer, which I’m working on myself trying to work on being more of. I’m still a young guy and working to add that. I’m still more of a pressure fighter just because my body isn’t as long and slick as Caleb’s is. When I was young, I was just a puncher and come-forward, really reactive fighter. But as I get older, and as the competition gets better, I’m going to have to be better at easing my mind and get my ring IQ up and putting things together.

“I think Thonson is my toughest test to date, and it’s a test I welcome. My prediction is a fifth, sixth-round TKO. That’s how I see it playing out in my head. If I have to go the eight rounds and get the win that way, I’m ready for that. But if I can get him out of there, I want to.

“I’m just a white kid from Tennessee who’s supposed to be this pretty boy. I’ve heard it all, ‘He’s not that good, he’s not all that.’ I’ve always had that chip on my shoulder. When I get in there I plan to go in and prove myself. I’ve said that a lot in interviews – that I am for real and I’m not just a pretender and a pretty face who can get in front of the camera and talk well. I’m a fighter.”

“There was a time before my last fight that a sensation came over me and I realized that I had lost my love for boxing. But after I won, I was able to regain that fire and know that that feeling should be with me all the time, which is the way I am feeling right now. So it’s amazing.

“All due respect, but there’s nothing specific about my opponent that I am worried about. I believe I am the superior fighter. We will see what kind of power he has during the fight. I believe I’ll be able to break him down, to be honest

“I’m expecting a chess match. Once he realizes he can’t win a chess match against me, he will know he has to fight and that will just put him in deeper trouble.

“He’s going to have to have a lucky shot to win, but at the same time I’m prepared to take a shot. I don’t see him having an advantage at all. As long as I do what I need to do then the fight should heavily fall into my favor.”

Long Island, New York (June 9, 2022) – Rockin’ Fights 42 is ready to take over The Paramount in Huntington, Long Island on Saturday night (June 11). Star Boxing announced today that featured on the card is local undefeated super welterweight, “THE JACKPOT” TYRONE “PRETTY BOY” JAMES (Elmont, NY 12-0 9KO’s). James returns to “Rockin’ Fights” after an electric fourth round stoppage victory over a big step up opponent in Jimmy “Quiet Storm” Williams this past March. James seeks to keep his undefeated record on June 11th, and do it in “Pretty Boy” style, as he steps up once again against Colombian, JANER GONZALEZ (Miami, FL by way of Colombia, 20-4-1 16KO’s), in an 8 round super welterweight bout.

Gonzalez has faced off with some big time prospects, contenders and champions such as undefeated WBA Welterweight World Champion, Eimantas Stanionis (then, 11-0 9KO’s), Ivan Golub (then 19-1 14KO’s) and former WBA Interim World Champion, Jamal James (then 24-1 12KO’s). James will seek to elevate his status once more with a key victory over an opponent with Gonzalez’s stature.

Also on the Star Boxing acclaimed series, Ireland’s “SUPERFLY” TONY BROWNE (Dublin, Ireland, 5-1) returns to the USA quickly after his recent April 9th ‘step-up’ unanimous decision victory at Rivers Casino over Leandro Silva. Brown will take on Star Boxing stablemate, Brazilian bomber, LUCAS MARTINS (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 13-1 11KO’s) in an 8-round super middleweight bout. This June 11th fight at the Paramount will be the biggest fight and test of the young Irishmen’s career, and a victory will put him on the map in the states, leading to bigger opportunities. However, Martins, who is coming off a victory in his native Brazil and was seen on DAZN back in October in a respectable performance against heralded prospect Diego Pacheco, is also a well-regarded prospect. The winner of this fight figures to have a bright future in the super middleweight division.

In a possible show stealer, ISAAH FLAHERTY (Elmont, NY, 3-0 1KO) will put his undefeated record on the line against the tough QUADEER JENKINS (Trenton, NJ 2-3 2KO’s) in a 4-round super middleweight fight that could steal the show. Flaherty returns to The Paramount after taking home a unanimous decision over Angelo Thompson. Jenkins, who fought on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz back in 2019, is coming off a second round TKO victory on May 13 and will look to keep the momentum going by snatching Flaherty’s undefeated record.

In a battle of pro debut’s, two-time New York Ring Masters Champion RONNY REYES (New York, NY, Pro Debut) looks to start his career on the right foot in a 4 round lightweight bout against a fellow pro debut in HECTOR BECERRA (Corpus Christi, TX, Pro Debut).

Bronx firefighter, LOUIS “IL MARTELLO” MAIETTA (Bronx, NY 1-1-1) looks to get back in the win column against DEQUINT “BEYOU” HILL (Austin, Texas, 0-1) who will attempt to secure his first victory as a professional in a scheduled 4 round light heavyweight bout.

Roseland, NJ (June 8, 2022) — GH3 Promotions has signed undefeated Cuban heavyweight Ricardo Aguero to a co-promotional contract with Ortiz Boxing Entertainment LLC.

Aguero, 29 years-old of Camaguey, Cuba, and now residing in Miami, has a record of 2-0 with two knockouts.

Standing an imposing 6’8 and weighing around 270 pounds, Aguero is trained by world class trainer Herman Caicedo, and is co-promoted by two-time heavyweight world title challenger Luis “King Kong” Ortiz.

Aguero turned professional with a second round stoppage over Brandon Grundy on January 28th in Hialeah, Florida. His latest outing saw Aguero take out Quintell Thompson in the first round on May 21st in Orlando, Florida.

PANAMA CITY, Panama (June 8, 2022): Jonhatan “Maximus” Cardoso (14-0, 14 KOs), the Brazilian 135-pounder with an 100% knockout ratio, will take the toughest test of his career when he faces Panamanian Olympian Juan “El Olimpico” Huertas (15-3-1, 11 KOs) in a 10-round main event for the WBO Latino Lightweight Title on Friday, June 17 in Panama City, Panama.

Cardoso-Huertas, which is promoted by ProBox Promotions in association with Master Promotions and All Star Boxing, Inc., headlines a stacked card of action that will stream live globally on ProBox TV beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. 

Cardoso is currently ranked as the No. 1 lightweight in Brazil and rightly so. After making his professional debut in 2017, he has maintained his undefeated record across 14 fights, winning all of them by devastating knockout. The 23-year-old looks to follow in the footsteps of former two-division champion Acelino “Popó” Frietas by representing his country in exciting fashion in the lightweight division. But first he’ll have to face his biggest challenge yet on the territory of his rival.

Huertas is a 29-year-old contender who participated in the 2012 Olympics in London. In 2013, the native of Panama City, Panama made his professional debut and has had some setbacks in his career, including losses to then-undefeated Spanish prospect Jon Fernandez and current 140-pound contender Gary Antuanne Russell. However, Huertas is undeterred by his setbacks. Besides a three-inch height advantage, Huertas will also possess a hometown advantage over Cardoso, so he is very confident that he will derail his plans at becoming a world champion.

QUINCY, Mass. (June 8, 2022) – 2020 New England Golden Gloves champion David Ribeiro, fighting out of Brockton (MA), is preparing once again for his long-awaited professional debut, scheduled for June 25^th, on the evening portion of “Road 2 Stardom” card, at Sheraton Hotel in Framingham.

“Road 2 Stardom”, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, is the first day-night professional boxing doubleheader in Massachusetts history. Boxing fans will be available to watch both shows via live stream at BXNGTV.COM for only $24.99.

Ribeiro was all set to make his pro debut back on May 7^th in Bridgewater (MA), but his opponent never got on the phone, cancelling their fight, and disappointing the ready-to-go Ribeiro.

“I didn’t find out until the day of the weigh in,” Ribeiro explained. “I was devastated. I was on weight and ready to put on an exciting show. I had sold all my tickets. It was a great moment until I got the news. I’ll be even more prepared this time because the cancellation motivated me to work even harder. I had been in training camp for 8 weeks. There’s no easy way to get ready for a fight. I’ve been working on my strength and conditioning, cardio, and nutrition. I’ve been sparring some tough people. The only difference is my opponent.”

Ribeiro is slated to face Rakim Johnson (6-17-1, 5 KOs), of Indianapolis, in a 4-round bout. The Brockton fighter could have fought an easier opponent in his first pro fight, certainly less experienced than the 24-fight Johnson.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Ribeiro said. “My team picks my opponent. I know what I bring to the table. I know what I’m capable of and I’m very confident.

“The excitement is still there. Bridgewater is only 20 minutes from my home, Framingham is around 40, but I still have people buying tickets. They’re willing to travel to support me.”

So much for a fighter only having one pro debut. It’s like “Groundhog Day” for the latest fighter from the City of Champions (Brockton), David Ribeiro, who can’t wait to get into the ring.

“I was heartbroken when I got the call in May from Dave’s opponent that he got cold feet and skipped out on the flight,”

Granite Chin president Chris Traietti commented. “Well, heartbroken, enraged, and a few other emotions to go with it. Making that call knowing how disappointed he was going to be, made me sick to my stomach. But, like the gentleman he is, Dave took it in stride and didn’t let it get him down. He is staying ready, and I have no doubt he is going to make a statement on June 25^th. Dave was a high-level amateur with a ton of confidence. We are going to move him along rapidly, but in control and within 18 months, you will see him fighting on TV.”

The evening card will be headlined by undefeated Holyoke (MA) welterweight prospect Denzel “Double Impact” Whitley (8-0, 6 KOs), 26, who will headline for the first time in the 6-round main event versus Brazilian Maycon Oller Da Silva (1-4, 1 KO).

In the potential Fight of the Night, Massachusetts intra-state rivals Nathan Balakin (3-1, 1 KO), of Tyngsboro, and Attleboro’s Bryan Urday (2-1) square off in the 6-round co-featured event for the vacant Massachusetts Welterweight Championship.

Undefeated Floridian welterweight Josniel “TG” Castro (8-0, 6 KOs) returns again to New England, where  all of his pro fights have been held, to meet Bryan Goldsby (5-16) in a 6-round bout.

Woburn (MA) junior lightweight Julien “Black Dragon” Baptiste (3-2, 2 KOs) will seek revenge in a rematch against Alfred “Keenan” Raymond (1-2), of Warwick (RI), who won their first encounter last November by way of a 4-round split decision. They’ll be fighting in a scheduled 6-rounder on June 25^th.

Undefeated Lowell (MA) welterweight Nicholas “Saint Nick” Molina (9-0, 3 KOs), known as the home of “Irish” Micky Ward, takes on upset-minded Argentinian Jose “El Chino” Aubel (8-10, 7 KOs) in a 6-round match.

Providence junior middleweight Rob “The Golden Child” Nolette (1-1, 1 KO) faces DeWayne Wisdom (7-61, 3 KOs) in a 4-round fight opening the evening’s action.

Another undefeated fighter, Pittsfield (MA) super middleweight Steve Sumpter (5-0, 5 KOs), will headline the day card in an 8-round match versus Manny “Shake Em’ Up” Woods (17-16-1, 6 KOs).

Pittsfield’s undefeated Sumpter brothers, super middleweight Steve (5-0, 5 KOs) and heavyweight Quinton (4-0, 4 KOs), will be showcased on the afternoon card.

Undefeated Pittsfield super middleweight Steve Sumpter (5-0, 5 KOs) headlines the matinee card in his first scheduled 8-rounder against Florida veteran Manny “Shake Em’ Up” Woods (17-6-1, 6 KOs).  Sumpter’s brother, unbeaten heavyweight Quinton, also fighting out of Pittsfield, throws-down with the brother of world champion Demetrius Andrade, Boston’s Tracey “The Titan” Johnson (4-10-6), in a 6-round fight.

A world champion at 140 and 147 pounds, Garcia (36-3, 21 KOs) owns one of the sports’ most impressive resumes as he now seeks to add a 154-pound title to his list of accomplishments. He returns to fight at Barclays Center for the ninth time, where he headlined the first ever boxing show at the arena in 2012 in his SHOWTIME debut. The Philadelphia native’s run through the super lightweight division saw him defeat a string of champions including Erik Morales, Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Lucas Matthysse, Nate Campbell and Kendall Holt. As a welterweight, the 34-year-old added triumphs over Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, and Robert Guerrero, defeating Guerrero for a vacant title in 2016. Garcia’s campaign at welterweight included narrow defeats to some of the sport’s most talented and rugged fighters –Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, and  unbeaten unified champion Errol Spence Jr.

The 30-year-old Benavídez (27-1-1, 18 KOs) is the older brother of unbeaten two-time world champion David Benavídez and is trained by his father Jose Sr. A long-established contender, Benavídez moved up to super welterweight in his last fight after dropping a 147-pound title showdown to Terence Crawford in October 2018. Benavídez fought Francisco Emanuel Torres to a draw last November, his first action in just over three years. The Phoenix-native had previously earned wins over contenders such as Mauricio Herrera, Francisco Santana and Frank Rojas on his way to that world title opportunity against Crawford.

“This is a Mexico vs. Puerto Rico matchup and both of us have something to prove,” said Benavídez. “It’s going to be a great fight for the fans. I feel strong and I know I will end this one on fight night. I’m bigger and stronger than he is and come July 30, he will see the difference in power between us.”

The 33-year-old Kownacki (20-2, 15 KOs) returns to the friendly confines of Barclays Center where he has previously fought 10 times, compiling a 9-1 record with five knockouts. Born in Lomza, Poland before moving to Brooklyn when he was seven, Kownacki will step back into the ring after dropping a pair of explosive, fan-friendly fights to Robert Helenius. He owns victories over former world champion Charles Martin and former title challengers Gerald Washington and Chris Arreola. His August 2019 battle against Arreola set CompuBox records for heavyweights in combined power punches thrown and landed.

“I’m very excited to be back in the ring, especially back home in Brooklyn at Barclays Center,” said Kownacki. “I’m ready to show the world that Robert Helenius just caught me at a complicated time in my life, where juggling being a new father and a fighter was a new experience and learning how to manage both was something I needed to learn how to do. For this fight, my family went away to Poland while I’m in camp so I could only focus on boxing. It was a difficult decision to make, but the right one. Demirezen is coming off a couple big wins, so I know he will bring his ‘A’ game, but I need to beat him to be back in the heavyweight mix. Our fight on July 30 will be action-packed with my hand being raised in victory.”

A 2016 Olympian for Turkey, Demirezen (16-1, 12 KOs) has fought out of Hamburg, Germany in the professional ranks since turning pro in late 2016. The 32-year-old won his first 11 pro fights, including a second-round stoppage of Rad Rashid to capture a European heavyweight title in 2018. Demirezen’s first U.S. outing came in 2019, when he became the first person to go the distance against Efe Ajagba, losing by decision. Since that defeat, Demirezen has scored five-straight victories, including defeating former title challengers Gerald Washington in January and Kevin Johnson in May.

“I’m very happy to fight in the U.S. again on July 30,” said Demirezen. “After my big win in Miami [in January], I’m very confident I’m going to give everyone a great fight in Brooklyn. I’m ready for anything Adam Kownacki brings to the ring and I want to make a big statement with a win over him.”

A native of Capitol Heights, Md., Russell (15-0, 15 KOs) will be continuing on the legacy left by his late father Gary Sr., as he belongs to one of the sport’s preeminent fighting families and trains alongside his older brothers, former WBC Featherweight Champion Gary Jr. and bantamweight contender Gary Antonio. The 25-year-old Russell has yet to allow an opponent to make it to the final bell since turning pro in 2017 following his run representing the U.S. at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. Most recently, Russell added the most impressive professional victory of his career thus far, as he became the first person to stop former champion Viktor Postol in their February clash on SHOWTIME.

When asked about his fight against Barthelemy, Russell cryptically said, “Deforestation is just a phase that shows there’s more space for growth and conquer,’’ and then stated that he would explain what he means after winning this fight.

A native of Havana, Cuba now fighting out of Las Vegas, Barthelemy (29-1-1, 15 KOs) added two victories in 2021, winning a unanimous decision over All Rivera in January before stopping Gustavo David Vittori in two rounds in November. A world champion at 130 and 135 pounds, Barthelemy owns notable victories over Argenis Mendez, Antonio DeMarco, Mickey Bey and Denis Shafikov. His only professional loss came in a 2018 140-pound championship rematch against Kiryl Relikh, with the only other blemish on his record coming via a draw versus former champion Robert Easter Jr. in 2019. Barthelemy also comes from a fighting family, as he is the middle brother between the younger Leduan and the older Yan, who won a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics.

Manchester, England – 8 June 2022 – Fast emerging BOXXER talents Caroline Dubois, Hassan Azim and Brad Rea will showcase their talents on the undercard of the crunch heavyweight showdown between Hughie Fury and Michael Hunter at the AO Arena Manchester on Saturday 2nd July, live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 7, 2022) – Prince Ranch Boxing’s undefeated super featherweight prospect, Richard “El Castigo” Medina (13-0, 7 KOs), who is promoted by TMB Entertainment, faces his toughest opponent to date when he squares off against fellow unbeaten foe, Raymond Ford (11-0-1, 6 KOs).  

Ford vs. Medina, a scheduled 10-round bout, will take place at the Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, June 25th, live on DAZN. On the line will be Ford’s WBA Continental Americas Featherweight title, as well as the IBF North American belt. Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing is the promoter of the event with Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. Ronny Rios headlining.

This unique evening of entertainment features a professional boxing card headlined by popular heavyweight Donnie Palmer of Dorchester, MA. The 6’10 280 pound Palmer has an excellent record of 11-2-1 with 9 KO wins by knockout. The Army Vet and congressional candidate won five of his last six bouts with his only setback coming against undefeated top 10 heavyweight Joe Joyce.

Palmer will face an opponent to be named in a six rounder.

Streeter of Portland, ME is facing an opponent to be named in a six round junior middleweight tilt. Streeter, 10-2-1 (4 KO’s), looks to rebound from a defeat in his last fight but is known for his resiliency.

In 2018, Streeter was working as an arborist and attempting to move a tree that fell. His co-worker was operating a grappler machine but didn’t see him and accidentally closed the machine claw on Streeter’s right leg. His leg was mangled, kneecap shattered and femur tore through his skin. Streeter’s femoral artery was 1/8th of an inch from being severed, which could’ve potentially led to him bleeding to death. After four operations, Streeter miraculously recovered and returned to the ring in 2019.

Junior welterweight Eric Goff of Springfield, MA will meet an opponent to be named over four rounds. The popular and unbeaten 22-year-old is 5-0 with 3 wins by knockout.

In four rounders, cruiserweight Cristiano Pedro of Lewiston, ME by way of Luanda, Angola battles Buffalo, NY’s Jimmy Levins and New Bedford, MA lightweight Justin Morales challenges Rutland, VT’s Thomas Kenney.

The nine bout card also features middleweights Jason Quirk (8-0, 6 KO’s) and Anthony “Big Daddy” Hines (8-0, 4 KO’s), heavyweight Robert Sabbagh (3-1, 2 KO’s) in separate bouts against opponents to be named.

Prior to the pro card, Reyes Boxing in association with Kings of Combat will host a special card featuring exhibition bouts. The exhibitions start at 1 pm and doors open at noon.

All exhibition bouts are scheduled for three 3-minute rounds. Every participant must pass the same pre-fight medicals as the pro fighters. The exhibitions will have a referee, judges, and medical personnel on site throughout the event.

Headlining the exhibition card is undefeated heavyweight Bobby “Lights Out” Laing against former pro wrestler and bodybuilder Dylan Bostic. Laing, who hails from Braintree, MA, is a well-known public figure and defeated former NFL star Adam “Pacman” Jones in August 2021.

Brandon Kelly, best known as “The American Ninja Warrior,” faces an opponent to be named in a lightweight contest, heavyweight Rob “One Eyed Wolf” Perez challenges Andrew “The Flesh Hammer” Felt and female welterweight Kacey “Hotwheelz” Wheeler will face an opponent to be announced.

On Saturday June 4th, Elijah Pierce spoiled the hometown return of previously undefeated Jesse Garcia by scoring a third round stoppage in their scheduled eight-round featherweight bout. After an even first round, Pierce took complete control. In round two Pierce floored Garcia with a short right hook. Garcia was able to beat the count just as the bell rang. In round three, Pierce once again continued to punish Garcia, and forced the referee to stop the bout, awarding a technical knockout victory to Pierce. 

“I’m thankful to Jesse Garcia for being willing to step in the ring with me. He is a tough warrior. I want all the smoke in the division. I’m ready for and want all of the big fights,” said Pierce after his victory. 

With the win, Pierce of Midwest City, Oklahoma is now 13-2 with 12 knockouts. Garcia, who at one time was promoted by Top Rank is now 10-1.

Pierce is managed by Trifon Petrov and Jessie Tanksley, and is currently a promotional free agent. 

Elijah Pierce will be back in the ring June 17th in Cleveland, Ohio. He is facing Joseph Ambo from the Philippines.

New York, NY (June 7, 2022)–Ohio natives and Split-T Management fighters Charles Conwell and DeAndre Ware got their hands raised in fights over the weekend.

Thursday night in Montreal, Conwell took out Abraham Juarez Ramirez in round three of their 10-round junior middleweight bout,

Conwell dominated the action as he landed hard combinations until finally breaking through in the second frame by scoring two knockdowns. With Juarez hurt, Conwell ended the fight in round three by sending Juarez to the canvas for a third time, and the bout was stopped at 1:13.

Conwell of Cleveland is now 17-0 with 13 knockouts. Juarez of Mexico City fell to 19-10.

Conwell is promoted by Probellum and DiBella Entertainment.

Saturday night in Toledo, super middleweight DeAnde Ware took an eight-round unanimous decision over tough Philadelphian, Christopher Brooker.

Ware of Toledo controlled the action, and won by scores of 79-73 twice and 78-74 to raise his mark to 15-3-2. Brooker is now 16-11.

Naoya Inoue made his claim to be considered the pound for pound best fighter in the world as he stopped Nonito Donaire to add the WBC Bantamweight title to his WBA/IBF crowns in Saitama, Japan.

At the end of round one, Inoue dropped Donaire with a quick counter right to the head. Donaire decided the fight Inoue, but that turned out to be a mistakes as Inoue rocked Donaire several times and buckled him badly with a left hook. Inoue jumped on Donaire and landed a big left hook that sent Donaire down again. When he got to his feet, he has a cut over his right eye and referee Michael Griffin deemed that Donaire was in no shape to continue at 1:24.

Inoue of Japan is now 23-0 with 20 knockouts. Donaire of the Philippines is now 42-7.

The bout was a rematch of a classic 2019 Fight of the Year, where Inoue won a decision.

Takuma Inoue Decisions Furuhashi

Takuma Inoue won an entertaining 12-round unanimous decision over Gakuya Furuhashi in a super bantamweight fight.

Inoue was dominant with crisp uppercuts with both hands against the hard charging Furuhashi. Furuhashi’s left eyelid was bleeding un the final round.

Inoue of Japan is now 16-1. Furuhashi is 28-9-2

Andy Hiraoka stopped Shun Akiawa in round six of a scheduled 10-round super welterweight bout.

In round one, Hiraoka dropped Akaiwa with a left uppercut.

In round six, Hiraoka turned up the heat and landed a hard barrage of punches that hurt Akaiwa, and the bout was stopped at 1:24.

Hiraoka is now 20-0 with 15 knockouts. Akaiwa is now 7-4-1.

HOUSTON – June 6, 2022 – The Jermall Charlo vs. Maciej Sulecki event, scheduled to take place Saturday, June 18 live on SHOWTIME from Toyota Center in Houston, has been postponed after Charlo suffered a back injury in training.

The card will be rescheduled to a new date that will be announced pending an assessment of when Charlo can return to training.

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 6, 2022) – This past Saturday at the Armory in Minneapolis, MN, super featherweight rising star, DJ “The War Machine” Zamora, improved to (9-0, 8 KOs), scoring a second round TKO against Raul Chirino (19-15, 12 KOs). The scheduled six-round bout was part of the super-bantamweight unification clash between current unified champion Stephen Fulton Jr. and former unified champion Danny Roman.

In the opening round, Zamora dropped Chirino with a straight left, forcing him to go into retreat mode. In round two, Zamora dropped him two more times, once with a left hook to the body, and the other with a straight left, right hook combination up top. The referee stopped the fight at the 1:43 mark after seeing Chirino was still on wobbly legs.

With the victory, Zamora, who hails from Las Vegas, stated he is ready to get right back in the ring with anyone they put in front of him.

“I wanted to come out here and make a statement against an opponent who has been in the ring with some notable fighters,” said Zamora, who recently turned 19-year-old. “I have big dreams of fighting the best in the division. My goal of course is to become a world champion one day, but I know I have to work my way up the rankings.”

Zamora has sparred some of the best fighters in boxing, which include Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, and Ra’eese Aleem to name a few. He credits his experience sparing in his hometown of Las Vegas against the best as to one of the reasons he’s so sharp. 

“When you are sparring guys like Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson, it’s only natural that you become a more polished fighter,” continued Zamora. “When I was younger, I was around Floyd Mayweather and his uncle Roger. I’ve always enjoyed learning from the best in the business. Right now I’m feeling great and I’m looking forward to getting right back in the ring when my name is called.”

The other four title fights on the card will feature the NABA Cruiserweight title between champion Johnnie Langston (10-3, 4 KOs) of Sarasota, FL and challenger Isaiah Thompson (6-1-1, 5 KOs) from Plantation, FL; the NABA Welterweight championship featuring Tre-Sean Wiggins (13-5-3, 7 KOs) defending his title against Travis Castellon (17-4-1, 12KOs) from Ft. Vega is a 22-year-old contender of Mexico City, Mexico who debuted as a professional in October 2016. After only three years, Vega earned his first world title opportunity in a rematch against Wilfredo Mendez for the WBO Minimumweight World Title. Though unsuccessful, Vega would get another title opportunity in 2021 at 108 pounds against WBA champion Hiroto Kyoguchi. Vega came up short in that fight, but returned quickly that year with a 10-round decision win over Armando Torres. With two title opportunities under his belt, Vega is prepared to make another run, but first he needs to get past a hard-hitting puncher.

Cordova is a native of Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela who has developed a 70% knockout ratio across 17 professional fights. The 26-year-old has never fought outside of his home country, but he’s ready to make his United States debut on one of the biggest stages in the world.

TOKYO, JUNE 6 – Nonito Donaire says he is “fired up” after making weight ahead of his eagerly awaited rematch with Naoya Inoue.

The 39-year-old tipped the scales at 117.8lbs in Yokohama earlier today (June 6), to comfortably come inside the bantamweight limit, while Inoue weighed in at 118lbs.

Donaire and his Japanese rival clash at the Super Arena in Saitama tomorrow, with the WBC, WBA and IBF world titles on the line, in a fight the whole of boxing will be watching.

After squaring off with Inoue for the final time before fight night, the Filipino Flash said:“I feel good, I feel great.  It is going to be an amazing night and you can look forward to seeing the best of me.

“I am very fired up and it is going to be a very exciting fight!”

The rematch of 2019’s Fight of the Year headlines an event which is promoted by Ohashi Promotion and Teiken Promotions, in association with Probellum, with the first fight due to start at 4:50pm local time, and Donaire vs Inoue scheduled for 9pm local time.

Donaire rebounded from the first fight with Inoue to claim the WBC bantamweight title and set up a second showdown which promises to be more explosive than their classic encounter, nearly three years ago.

The future Hall of Fame inductee is confident of gaining revenge over the fighter known as ‘Monster’ and Donaire wants to set up an undisputed clash with WBO champion Paul Butler.
