Donaire_Vetyeka_140531_002a
According to Dan Rafael of espn.con, Nonito Donaire will fight undefeated Nicholas Walters on October as part of the Gennady Golovkin – Marco Antonio Rubio card in Carson, California.

“Even before this fight was made the response we’ve gotten to Gennady’s fight with Rubio has been incredible. There has been a great response. This just makes the show even bigger and better,” said K2 Promotions Tom Loeffler, who formally announced Golovkin-Rubio at a Los Angeles news conference on Wednesday, but couldn’t announce Donaire-Walters because the deal with Top Rank was not agreed to until several hours later.

“They are both Top Rank fighters, but we wanted to make the best fight possible even if it didn’t involve our fighters (in the co-feature),” Loeffler said. “This fight adds a lot of value to Gennady’s fight with Rubio.”

“These guys want to fight and we want them to fight, so this was a good spot for them,” said Top Rank’s Carl Moretti. “The fight is agreed to and the paperwork is going out. It’s a terrific fight. It’s Walters’ relative youth versus Donaire’s experience. Walters is a strong, younger, hungry fighter. Donaire is an established pound-for-pound fighter, one of the biggest names in the sport still. It’s not like Donaire hasn’t faced guys like this before. We know Donaire has been there before. Now we’ll see what Walters can do on this kind of big stage.”

Former Middleweight champion Jermain Taylor was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly shooting his cousin in Arkansas accroding to Dan Rafael of espn.com.

Taylor, who recently signed to fight Sam Soliman for the IBF Middleweight championship is free on a $25,000 bond after the former middleweight champion was jailed overnight in Little Rock in connection with the shooting of his cousin.

Taylor was arrested Tuesday night at his home in Maumelle, Arkansas, a suburb of Little Rock, according to police.

Taylor was taken into custody, booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility and charged with two felonies — first-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault — Lt. Carl Minden, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, told ESPN.com.

The cousin was in serious condition at a hospital after being shot multiple times, Minden said.

Minden said the police responded to a 911 call from Taylor’s wife, Erica, at around 7 p.m. ET.

“Mr. Taylor’s cousin and another individual came to his residence, and there was some sort of altercation,” Minden said, adding that the two who showed up at Taylor’s home were unarmed. “At some point, Mr. Taylor retrieved a handgun and fired several rounds. His cousin was struck multiple times. The cousin is alive and in serious condition at an area hospital. He has pretty serious injuries. The other person was not struck, but Mr. Taylor had fired several rounds and missed.

On the fight with Soliman, “ESPN had committed to carry the fight and was working towards a contractual agreement. We are now reviewing the situation and will make a decision once more details emerge,” an ESPN spokesman said in a statement.

Scott Quigg

Lomachenko – Piriyapinyo plus Shiming added to Pacquiao – Algieri

The televised undercard is taking shape for the November 22 Welterweight card featuring Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algiero in Macao, China.

Featherweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko will make his first defense against mandatory challenger Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo.

Chinese Olympic Gold Medal winner Zou Shiming will fight a Flyweight elimination bout against Kwanpichit 13 Rien Express.

“When Lomachenko fought Gary Russell, it was for the vacant title, so there is a mandatory lingering around,” Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN.com. “It’s a Thai guy, Piriyapinyo, who has an unbelievable record and went the distance with Chris John. It’s probably not a fight that makes sense in the U.S. and that the mandatory is from Thailand provides us with a good platform to get rid of the obligation and showcase what a great fighter Lomachenko is. That’s why we’re doing it on the Pacquiao card.

“The fight is agreed to, and the contracts are out. It was not difficult to make. [Piriyapinyo] just wanted a shot at the title, and you know Lomachenko will fight anyone.”

Klitschko injures bicep; fight with Pulev postponed

wklitschko
According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, the September 6 world Heavyweight title bout between champion Klitschko and Kubrat Pulev is postponed due to Klitschko suffering a bicep tear.

“He had problems on Friday, and he first thought it’s a minor thing, but he went to the hospital near the camp [in Austria], and there they detected this torn muscle,” Bernd Boente, Klitschko’s manager, told ESPN.com. “He was in top shape and he had perfect sparring partners. He did a long preparation and is sorry to have to postpone the fight.”

Said Klitschko in a statement: “I am very disappointed that the fight cannot take place as planned. I am in absolute top form and had a great training camp. Of course, I’m sorry for the fans, but also for my opponent Kubrat Pulev, who was certainly training as intensely as I do.”

Boente said the fight will be rescheduled for November and likely still take place at the O2 World, which was already sold out — around 15,000 tickets — for the Sept. 6 fight.

“We hope to reschedule the bout in the same arena in mid-November, probably Nov. 15,” Boente said. “But that is something we have to discuss with the arena and RTL [the German television network that has a contract to carry Klitschko’s fights]. We also have to talk to the IBF because this fight is a mandatory.

“Of course, we are all disappointed, but these things can happen during the preparation.”

Ward loses to Goossen again in court

WARDCut
Andre Ward maybe undefeated in the ring but he can’t beat promoter Dan Goossen in the court as yet another one of his cases against his promoter Dan Goossen has been thrown out in the California court according to Dan Rafael of espn.com.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Holly Kendig issued a ruling dismissing Ward’s latest attempt to terminate his promotional contract. Kendig ruled that Ward had not stated “any basis upon which to invalidate the contract” and the case was dismissed.

Ward had attempted to break the contract by arguing that the promotional agreement was in violation of California Labor Code Section 2855. In essence, that section of the code says a contract for personal services may not be enforced beyond seven years.

However, the court rejected the contention that he was under a personal services contract. Ward re-signed with Goossen for three years in April 2011 and received a $550,000 signing bonus.

In making the ruling, Kendig noted that the California State Athletic Commission had already twice ruled against Ward in separate arbitration hearings pertaining to efforts to break the promotional agreement.

Roc Nation wins Quillin Korobov purse bid

Peter Quillin
According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, Jay-Z’s new promotional outfit, Roc Nation won the right to promote the WBO Middleweight title bout between Peter Quillin and Matt Korobov.

Roc Nation Sports bid a whopping $1,904,840 and handily defeated two other bidders.

Golden Boy Promotions, which represents Quillin, bid $1.2 million, and Korobov promoter Top Rank offered $515,000. The minimum bid was $200,000. The purse bid took place because Golden Boy and Top Rank declined to negotiate the fight with each other.

“I’m definitely surprised by their participation,” said WBO President Paco Valcarcel. “On behalf of the WBO, I welcome Jay Z and his company, Roc Nation (Sports), and wish them nothing but success in their quest to put on quality boxing events and represent well the fighters they eventually sign. We are honored that they have chosen a WBO world championship contest to mark their entrance to the sport as boxing promoters and look forward to working with them.”

Reaction from Golden Boy and Top Rank was swift and positive. Their fighters will each take home their biggest career payday. As the titleholder, Quillin is entitled to 75 percent of the winning bid ($1,428,630), and Korobov will receive the remaining 25 percent ($476,210).

“I’m surprised by the offer but glad someone like Jay Z and his team realize the value and opportunities in boxing,” Golden Boy president Oscar De La Hoya told ESPN.com.

Moretti added: “Congrats to Roc Nation and their team on winning the bid. Top Rank and Matt Korobov will fully cooperate with the terms and any promotional requirements they may ask of us. Jay Z may have ’99 Problems,’ but apparently purse bids aren’t one of them. Welcome to the business of boxing. Plus, I’d rather lose the bid and win the fight any day of the week.”

Jay-Z’s Rocnation to get into promoting; hires Itskowitch as COO

According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, Rocnation, the sports company founded by rap mogul Jay-Z will get into boxing promoting and has hired longtime respected boxing man Dave Itskowitch as COO.

“There’s no question the sport of boxing needs a new player, someone who can do something different,” Michael Yormark, the president and chief of branding and strategy for parent company Roc Nation, told ESPN.com on Sunday night. “We’re energized, and we’re going to make a difference. This is a huge priority to us. This is a highly serious business to us.”

“This is a serious business for us moving forward, and Dave has one of the great reputations in the boxing industry,” Yormark said, adding that Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports president Juan Perez are big boxing fans. “Hiring him should be a loud and clear statement this is serious for us and that we will do this the right way. We have one of the most respected individuals in the sport leading the charge for us.

“We didn’t wake up yesterday and decide we wanted to get into the boxing business, but our first significant move was to bring Dave into the organization. This is an opportunity for us to change the game. It’s been in the works for the last six or eight months, and now we are making our move. Jay Z has an incredible passion for boxing. We want to take the platform we’ve created and bring that to the boxing industry. We want to bring more money and visibility to the sport and give the boxers opportunities outside the ring.”

“We’re going to promote our first event by the end of the year, and we’re currently strategizing on which fighters we will seek to sign,” Itskowitch told ESPN.com.

“We’re looking to make an immediate and dramatic impact on the sport. We feel we can do that, and we plan to build Roc Nation Sports into a boxing brand by leveraging Roc Nation’s current marketing, public relations and branding infrastructure. We’re going to brand Roc Nation Sports fighters, and we’re confident that branding will lead to financial opportunities both in and out of the ring that will be available nowhere else.”

“We’re starting with a clean slate,” he said. “One of boxing’s biggest problems is that the audience is getting older, but we have an infrastructure that can reach younger fans. We believe that is something we can do based on what we already have in place.”

Yormark said the goal is not only to put on quality boxing events but also to do for the fighters it will eventually sign what it tries to do with the other athletes it represents.

“There’s no question Roc Nation Sports can create celebrity status for boxers and align them with corporate America,” Yormark said. “Look at the success we’ve had with our athletes and [recording] artists [represented by parent company Roc Nation]. That is what we do, and we do that better than anyone. We will be able to build brands for these boxers and build their careers outside of the ring. That’s the difference that Roc Nation will bring to this sport.”

Said Itskowitch, “We will be a promoter, but our job won’t end once a guy fights on a particular Saturday night. We will promote him 365 days a year.”

Brook takes Welterweight crown from Porter

Kell Brook
Kell Brook won the IBF Welterweight championship with a 12-round majority decision over previously undefeated Shawn Porter at the StubHub Center in Carson, California

Early on it was Brook looking to jab and hold on when he Porter would make a surge on the inside. In round two, Brook was cut over the left eye from an accidental headbutt. Brook was timing Porter coming with his nice jab. In round six, Porter was cut over his right eye from an accidental headbutt.

Brook was able to thwart any brief momentum that Porter could muster up as he landed the more telling combinations.

Brook, 146 1/2 lbs of Sheffield, UK won by scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114 and is now 33-0. Porter, 146 3/4 lbs of Akron, OH is now 24-1-1.

“You can tell how much it means to me by my reaction,” said Brook, who was cut over the left eye in the second round. “I’ve been dreaming about this moment since I was nine-years old. It’s unbelievable.

“I was scrappy tonight, and not as slick as I wanted to be. But I’m the world champion now, baby. I was born to do this.

“I’m ready for a mega, mega fight next. I’ll take on Keith Thurman or Floyd Mayweather. Amir Khan should get in queue now. I’m the world champion now so they’re all going to want to fight me.”

Porter, a former U.S. amateur standout, thought he had done enough to win his second title defense despite getting cut over his right eye in the sixth.

“I think I’m still the champion,” he said. “I’m 24-1 and Team Porter will be back to the drawing board. There are no excuses. I do want the rematch.”

Anthony Dirrell wrestled the WBC Super Middleweight title away from Sakio Bika via 12-round unanimous decision.

The fight was very sloppy throughout the contest. When given distance, Dirrell was able to land the more telling blows. Bika was deducted a point in round eight for low blows. Dirrell hit the canvas several other times from Bika’s “veteran” tactics.

Dirrell, 167 3/4 lbs of Flint, MI won by scores of 117-110, 116-111 and 114-113 and is now 27-0-1. Bika, 167 3/4 lbs of Australia is now 32-6-3.

“This journey has been amazing and I can’t even fathom it,” Dirrell told SHOWTIME’s Jim Gray afterward. “I already overcame the biggest fight of my life by beating cancer. I can’t see anything being bigger than this. I was never close to giving up. I stuck to it and now I’m WBC world champion.

“This means the world to me, what else can I say? After beating cancer, making it back from a motorcycle accident and getting a second chance at boxing, I just knew I was going to make the best of it.

“Tonight the referee did a wonderful job. Bika is rough, he’s a helluva fighter. But I’m glad to finally have him in my rearview mirror. I’m not gonna complain about the close scores. I got a unanimous decision and I couldn’t be happier.

“The difference between this fight and our first one is that I wasn’t on the ropes this time. I came out and boxed. But I know I got his attention at the start.”

Said Bika: “I fought very hard. He was a better fighter tonight. I’m going to go back to the gym and come back stronger. This (losing) happens.”

Omar Figueroa defended the WBC Lightweight title with a 9th round stoppage over mandatory challenger Daniel Estrada.

It was a phone booth fight early with Estrada taking the early lead by landing the harder punches in close. Figueroa began to pick up in the middle rounds as he got in close and started landing combinations.

Round nine was action packed as the two traded shots in close. Figueroa was cut around the left eye from a clash of heads. Figueroa seized that moment to land a nice flurry only to see Figueroa come back just before the bell.

That did not deter Figueroa as he came out in round nine and dropped Estrada with a big right hand. Estrada got to his feet but Figueroa was all over him and landed a big combination on the ropes and the fight was stopped at 1:00 of round nine

Figueroa, 135 lbs is now 24-0-1 with 18 knockouts. Estrada, 134 1/2 lbs is 32-3-1.

“I don’t think I did that great and obviously felt I could be more explosive and maybe get him out of there earlier,” said Figueroa, who suffered a bad cut above his left eye from an unintentional headbutt in the ninth. “I was a little concerned that the referee or doctor would stop the fight because of the cut. I knew Estrada would be open for the right hand. I was playing a little possum when I caught him.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity,” said Estrada, who was making his U.S. debut and fighting less than three weeks after a sister and her daughter were killed in an automobile accident in Mexico. “Initially I felt good but he hurt me and I couldn’t recuperate. I had the mentality to win, but I was up against a great champion.”

Deontay Wilder tuned up for a fall title shot with Bermane Stiverne with a stoppage win over Jason Gavern after round four in their scheduled 10-round Heavyweight bout.

Wilder boxed from the outside while Gavern tried and occasionally got through with an overhand right. In round three, Wilder scored a knockdown when a right hand landed around the ear. Gavern complained that the punch was behind the head. Wilder scored a 2nd knockdown in round four from another straight right. After the round, Gavern encouraged his corner to stop the fight and they obliged.

Wilder, 224 lbs of Tuscaloosa, AL is now 32-0 with 32 knockouts. Gavern, 247 lbs of Kissimee, FL is now 25-16-4.

“This was fun,” Wilder said. “I wanted to go some rounds. A lot of people are still asking so many questions to me; I tried to answer some of them today.

“Of course, I could have landed my right hand more in the first couple rounds. He was leaving me openings, but I didn’t want to show off everything. I wanted to save that for next time.

“I’m ready for that world title fight. I want the WBC champ Bermane Stiverne next, hopefully in late November.”

Jorge Linares tuned up for a title shot with a 2 round demolition of Ira Terry in scheduled 8-round Lightweight bout.

Linares hurt Terry at the end of round one with a hard right that was followed by a combination. Linares finished the fight with a perfect right to the face that plummeted Terry on the canvas and the fight was stopped at 1:20 of round two.

Linares, 137 lbs of Venezuela is now 37-3 with 24 knockouts. Terry, 132 lbs of Memphis, TN is now 26-12-1.

“This was the kind of fight I didn’t expect but that I wanted,” Linares said. “I was able to watch tapes o him extensively so I was well prepared. I definitely want to fight for the world title next. That’s why I was here and took this fight. I’m just waiting for my opportunity.

“That was a good straight right hand I landed on him. Once I connected I knew it was over.”

Lydell Rhodes remained undefeated with a stoppage after 4-rounds over John Nater in a scheduled 8-round Welterweight bout.

Rhodes was dominant with his hand speed. He dropped Nater in round four with a four punch combination where Nater took three steps back to the ropes and took a knee. After the round, Nater decided he had enough and the bout was stopped.

Early it was Shafikov’s hand speed that was giving Nugaev issues. The two continued to trade heard shots in close in round four. Nugaev started to get through with some combination’s on the ropes in the 5th. Both guys were cut, Shafikov started to leak in round six from around the right eye while Nugaev started to cut up in the 3rd round. “Tonight Shafikov was the better man,” said Nugaev. “I couldn’t get into a good rhythm with my game plane and it showed. I still feel I have a lot of fight left in me and I promise I’ll be back to fight another day. I want to thank Gary Shaw for all that he’s done for me. I’m very disappointed I didn’t perform to my best ability tonight, but like I said…I’ll be back.”

Jose Pedraza remained undefeated by scoring a stoppage over Juan Carlos Martinez in a scheduled 10-round Jr. Lightweight bout.

Pedraza had some swelling around his right eye in round two as Martinez got in some early offense. Pedraza started getting into the bout and was the boss over the last four rounds and Martinez retired in his corner after the 6th frame.

I’m going to let my promoter Gary Shaw put everything together. I know I have the talent to bring a world title back home to my people of Puerto Rico. Sam Soliman to defend Middleweight crown against Jermain Taylor in October

jermain_taylor
According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, IBF Middleweight champion Sam Soliman will defend his title against Jermain Taylor in October in the United States.

According to Warriors Boxing promoter Leon Margules and Lou DiBella, who are co-promoting the card, the contracts are signed for the fight to take place on Oct. 4. However, there is a good chance the fight will be moved to Oct. 8 and air on ESPN2 as a Wednesday night boxing special, one week after the network will carry the Oct. 1 title elimination bout between Curtis Stevens and Hassan N’Dam for the right to become the mandatory challenger for the Soliman-Taylor winner.

“Jermain is very excited about it,” trainer Pat Burns told ESPN.com on Wednesday. “We’ve won four fights since we got back together and Jermain has come back. I’d like to have had more fights, more activity, but that’s the business. Jermain has been maintaining himself and his weight is good. It should pay off for him. He’s already in pretty good shape.”

“We always wanted to get another opportunity. They don’t come around too often,” Burns said. “We have a second chance and it’s a blessing. He’s fortunate to have this opportunity. I know there are some who say Jermain shouldn’t get this opportunity and some that say Sam Soliman shouldn’t be fighting Jermain, but I don’t worry about the critics.

“I put them aside and let’s go ahead and see how it comes out. I think we’ll win the fight. I know Jermain will work hard. We will be prepared and let the cards fall where they may.”

“This should be a competitive fight,” said said promoter Lou DiBella, who has promoted almost all of Taylor’s fights. “Jermain came back for this kind of opportunity and he is getting it against probably the most vulnerable of the middleweight champions. It’s a winnable fight and a great opportunity. Jermain is very live to win that belt.”

Kurt Emhoff, an attorney and Soliman’s and co-manager, said Soliman has signed for the fight, deciding to fight Taylor rather than accept a unification fight against Gennady Golovkin that was also on the table.

“We got a very generous offer for this fight,” Emhoff said.

“They had the Geale fight coming up and we had to wait a little bit and then this offer came in and it blew the (offer for the) Golovkin fight out of the water,” Emhoff said. “It took Sam (17) years to win a title. He has fought everybody, but he’s going to be 41 and he was looking for the best possible financial package that was offered and that’s what we took.

“Jermain is ranked by the IBF, he’s a big name, he’s won four fights in a row and he beat Truax. So we know we have to be ready and we expect the best Jermain Taylor. He was seconds away from beating Froch. We’re taking him seriously. He’s a tough out for anybody.”

Successful promoter Maloney been living as a woman

Successful British promoter Frank Maloney has been living as a woman and is eyeing a sex change according to the Mirror in the United Kingdom.

Maloney, 61, told England’s Sunday Mirror in an exclusive interview, “I was born in the wrong body and I have always known I was a woman. I can’t keep living in the shadows. That is why I am doing what I am today. Living with the burden any longer would have killed me.

“What was wrong at birth is now being medically corrected. I have a female brain. I knew I was different from the minute I could compare myself to other children. I wasn’t in the right body. I was jealous of girls.”

Also revealed in the interview — which included a video interview and numerous pictures of Maloney dressed as a woman — is that Maloney is more than a year into the transition period, having secretly undergone hormone therapy, hundreds of hours of hair removal electrolysis, voice coaching and counseling.

“The feeling of wanting to be like and dress like a woman has always been there,” said Maloney, who has been married twice and has three children. “I consciously made the decision that I wouldn’t dress like a woman but it was a constant urge. But I have never been able to tell anyone in boxing. Can you imagine me walking into a boxing hall dressed as a woman and putting an event on? I can imagine what they would scream at me. But if I had been in the theatre or arts world, nobody would blink an eye about this transition.”

Maloney managed Lennox Lewis to Heavyweight championship.

Lewis, who hasn’t been close to Maloney for many years, showed support for him Sunday in a statement.

“I was just as shocked as anyone at the news about my former promoter and my initial thought was that it was a windup,” Lewis said. “The great thing about life, and boxing, is that, day to day, you never know what to expect. This world we live in isn’t always cut and dried or black and white, and coming from the boxing fraternity, I can only imagine what a difficult decision this must be for Kellie.

“However, having taken some time to read Kellie’s statements, I understand better what she and others in similar situations are going through. I think that all people should be allowed to live their lives in a way that brings them harmony and inner peace. I respect Kellie’s decision and say that if this is what brings about true happiness in her life, then so be it. #LiveAndLetLive.”

Fury – Chisora 2 rescheduled for November 22

According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, the postponed rematch between Heavyweights Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora has been rescheduled for November 22.

“It’s been a rollercoaster few weeks, but I’m delighted to say that the fight is definitely on with Chisora and Fury ready to clash,” said promoter Frank Warren. “It was an extremely unfortunate set of circumstances that caused Chisora to pull out with a fractured hand and then Fury’s uncle’s tragic condition. Despite the setbacks, they were both determined to fight each other and I believe that we could see a genuine old fashioned ring war between them.”

“Chisora is now going to get a beating twice as bad than the one that he was going to get for pulling out,” Fury said. “All Chisora is to me is an obstacle and I’ve got to smash through him to get where I want to be, and that’s fighting for the world title. He’s messed me around and now I’m going to make him pay. I’m happy for the fans who will get to see me crush Chisora for the second and final time and send him into retirement.”

Said Chisora: “The important thing is we have a new date for the fight. … It’s on and Fury and I will finally give the fans what they want to see, a fight. What happened with my hand has happened and the timing of the injury was terrible. It couldn’t have happened at a worse time and, of course, Fury had personal issues going on with him. I just want to fight Fury, get revenge, beat him good and proper, and move on to fight Klitschko for the world title.”

Also on the card will be the pro debut of Middleweight Antonio Tarver Jr.

“It’s a good fight, he’s a solid guy, and with the long inactivity a lot of questions will be answered,” Tarver said of his fight with Banks. “Totally stoked about my son’s pro debut. He’s a spitting image of a young me with a more aggressive, fan-friendly style with speed and power.”

“This fight with Banks will tell me if I have the ability at 45 to truly make a run and conceivably fight for the heavyweight championship of the world,” Tarver said. “My quest starts with a tough fight. Banks is a guy raised in the sport. He can box. He has skills. But it’s a challenge I got to step up to. I want this type of fight. I need to realize if I can do it. I believe I can. This fight is a step closer for me.

“I wish I had more activity, but I’m just glad to be back. I want to show I still have it. I know my brand took some hits (over the drug suspension). I’m not naive. But I still got fight in me and the passion to fight. I’m not a shot fighter. I’ve been training hard and I know I can still do this. I don’t take Banks lightly. If I’m victorious, I will just look for my next opportunity. I am coming back to make a statement, but I was never retired or anything.

Tarver is very much looking forward to his son’s debut on the card.

“He’s been training really hard. He started boxing about three years ago and we’ve been taking it slow,” Tarver said. “I see a transformation in him and I think he’s ready at this stage. It’s time for him to get going if he is going to make his own imprint on boxing.

“I didn’t want to force him to box but he had an itch to box. He’s been around boxing his whole life.”

Tarver Jr. had only a handful of amateur fights while his father had hundreds, was a 1996 U.S. Olympian and one of the most decorated amateurs in U.S. history.

“He’s had on-the-job training,” Tarver said. “He’s a quick learner. He took it upon himself to do this. He has determination. I’m not trying to push him. He wants to challenge himself.”
