SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – Devin Haney, until recently the unified lightweight champion, aims to make a splash in his junior welterweight debut as he takes on one of the most avoided 140-pound title holders in Regis Prograis Saturday night at the Chase Center on pay-per-view. The twelve-round fight, which headlines a seven-bout card emanating from the home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, also marks a homecoming for the San Francisco-bred Haney, who has never before fought in the Bay Area. Fighters weighed-in on Friday at the venue and continued a week of contentious back-and-forth. 

In the lead-up to the fight, bad blood has spilled over as Devin’s father-coach Bill Haney and Prograis’ strength coach Evins Tobler have debated everything from who grew up on the harder streets to which of their main event fighters has real punching power.

In their final face-off on Friday, Haney and Prograis took the lead in the heated back-and-forth between the camps. No one came to blows, but the animosity seemed legitimate as the two shouted each other down in an expletive-laden exchange. 

Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) of Las Vegas, Nevada closed out his lightweight campaign and solidified his standing among the pound-for-pound elite in his last bout as he scored a hotly-contested unanimous decision over former three-division ruler Vasyl Lomachenko in May. Just over a week ago, Haney relinquished all four of his 135-pound belts to signify his focus on an already crowded junior welterweight division. Haney weighed-in at 140-pounds on Friday.

Prograis (29-1, 24 KOs) of Houston, Texas by way of New Orleans, Louisiana was last in the ring in June as he had a tougher-than-expected time moving past once-beaten late replacement Danielito Zorrilla in the first defense of his WBC title reign. In an admittedly poor performance, Prograis, who was making his hometown return, struggled to close the distance and cut-off the ring against Zorrilla en route to a split decision. Prograis came in at 139-pounds Friday.

In the chief supporting bout, WBO #11 ranked light welterweight Liam Paro takes on Montana Love in a ten-round bout. Paro (23-0, 14 KOs) of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia was the opponent that had to withdraw from the June title bout against Prograis in New Orleans when he injured his Achilles tendon a month before the scheduled clash. Six months later, Paro auditions for another title opportunity, while Love seeks a different type of redemption. Love (18-1-1, 9 KOs) of Cleveland, Ohio was an emerging contender at 140-pounds before he was dropped and frustrated to the point of forcing a blatant disqualification in his bout against unheralded Steve Spark last November. 

In a bout for the regional WBO Intercontinental lightweight title, Paro and Love both weighed-in at 140-pounds. 

Highly touted lightweight prospect Andy Cruz (1-0) of Miami, Florida by way of Matanzas, Matanzas, Cuba will meet Jovanni Straffon (26-5-1, 19 KOs) of Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico in a ten-round bout. Cruz will be defending the regional IBF International lightweight title he impressively claimed in his pro debut over respected veteran Juan Carlos Burgos in July. Straffon figures to be a sturdy test for Cruz’ second pro opponent, considering the Mexican native went the twelve-round distance with Maxi Hughes and ended the career of former title challenger James Tennyson by first-round knockout in 2021. 

In a bout also for the vacant WBA Continental Latin America title, Straffon came in at 134 even. Cruz, a 2020 Cuban Olympian gold medalist, scaled 134.4-pounds. 

Ebanie Bridges (9-1, 4 KOs) of New South Wales, Australia seeks to make the second defense of her IBF bantamweight title against late replacement Miyo Yoshida (16-4) of New York, New York by way of Kagoshima, Kagoshima, Japan in a ten-round bout. Bridges had been slated to meet IBF #11 ranked Avril Mathie until an injury late last month forced her fellow Aussie to withdraw. 

Bridges was last in the ring one year ago as scored an eighth-round stoppage of Shannon O’Connell in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. In the time since, Bridges nursed a surgically-repaired right hand and began training under Dave Coldwell.  Yoshida, the IBF #10 ranked bantamweight, fought just a month ago, coming up short to Shurretta Metcalf in her 118-pound debut. Bridges, who, as always, was not camera shy while hitting the scales, came in at 117.8-pounds.

Yoshida, a former WBO super flyweight champion, weighed-in at 117.6. 

Beatriz Ferreira (3-0, 1 KO) of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil will take on Destiny Jones (5-1, 2 KOs) of Austin, Texas in an eight-round super featherweight bout. Ferreira, a 2020 Brazilian Olympian and former international amateur standout, weighed-in at 130-pounds. Jones, stepping up to the eight-round distance for the first time, scaled 129.8-pounds.  

Shamar Canal (6-0, 4 KOs) of Albany, New York will take on veteran Jose Antonio Meza (8-8, 2 KOs) of Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico in a six-round featherweight fight. Canal, promoted by Devin Haney Promotions, was last in the ring in October, scoring a second-round knockout in Colima, Mexico. Meza last saw action in September, fighting to a double disqualification against Leonardo Padilla. Canal weighed-in at 132-pounds, while Meza made 131.8-pounds. 

Middleweight prospect Amari Jones (10-0, 9 KOs) of Las Vegas by way of Oakland, California will make a step-up against veteran Quilisto Madera (14-4, 9 KOs) of Stockton, California in an eight-round bout. Jones, promoted by Devin Haney Promotions, last fought in October, scoring a first-round stoppage in Colima, Mexico. Madera, a nine-year pro, is hoping to rebound from an eight-round decision loss to Kevin Newman II in August. Jones, who like Haney is making his Bay Area debut as a professional, weighed-in at 159.2-pounds.

Madera, who refused to attend the pre-fight press conference on Thursday, citing bad blood, scaled 160-pounds.

MINNEAPOLIS.- December 8, 2023 – Undefeated WBA Super Middleweight Champion and Minneapolis fan-favorite David Morrell Jr. will battle knockout artist Sena Agbeko headlining action live on SHOWTIME^® on Saturday, December 16 in a Premier Boxing Champions event from The Armory in Minneapolis.

The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast will feature exciting contenders Chris “Primetime” Colbert and Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela in a 12-round WBA Lightweight Title Eliminator as they rematch in the co-main event, and WBC Flyweight World Champion Julio Cesar Martinez defends his world title against unbeaten contender Angelino Cordova. Plus, in a special attraction telecast opener, all-action former world champions Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and Andre Berto will square off in a 10-round welterweight rematch. The show will be the final boxing telecast from SHOWTIME SPORTS^® after 37 years.

A Cuban-native who came to Minneapolis to begin his pro career in 2019, Morrell (9-0, 8 KOs) has quickly shown off the talents that made him a standout in Cuba’s storied amateur scene. The 25-year-old recently scored a violent first-round knockout of Olympic Bronze medalist Yamaguchi Falcao in their April clash. He captured an interim title by dominating then-unbeaten Lennox Allen in August 2020 in just his third pro fight. Morell, who trains in Texas with renowned coach Ronnie Shields, added two dominant knockout victories in 2022 as he stopped Kalvin Henderson in June before a 12th-round TKO of the previously unbeaten Aidos Yerbossynuly in November. December 16 will mark Morrell’s sixth appearance at The Armory, and his fourth headlining slot.

“It’s a great honor to be fighting in the main event on SHOWTIME’s final show, especially in Minneapolis at The Armory where I call home,” said Morrell. “I’m going to bring my best effort forward and give the fans a spectacular performance worthy of this occasion. I specifically asked for the Sena Agbeko fight because he was saying I was avoiding him. Now that the fight is on, I’m going to punish him. Originally from Ghana and now fighting out of Nashville, Tennessee, Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs) enters this fight having won his last five contests and 13 of his last 14. The 31-year-old won three times in 2022, including earning a unanimous decision over the previously unbeaten Isaiah Steen last October on SHOBOX: The New Generation^®. The only blemish on Agbeko’s record since 2014 is a decision loss in 2021 against top 168-pound contender Vladimir Shishkin. Most recently, Agbeko stopped Bruno Leonardo Romay in two rounds in October.

“This fight against Morrell is career defining for me as it will determine where I stand in the super middleweight hierarchy of boxing,” said Agbeko. “With 30 fights under my belt, it’s now or never, and more than anything, it’s an opportunity to be etched in the history books, so it is absolutely important to me that I win. I’m very happy to have this opportunity to fight for the WBA belt on SHOWTIME where I’ve fought throughout my career. My objective is to win and end the year on a very high note and also use it as a catalyst to even greater fights next year against the very best in the division. Fight fans should definitely expect a thriller to end the year.”

Representing his native Brooklyn, N.Y., Colbert (17-1, 6 KOs) bounced back from a first-round knockdown in the first fight against Valenzuela to emerge victorious with a 95-94 score on all three cards, a decision disputed by Valenzuela and others. The 27-year-old will hope to repeat the victory and establish himself as a top contender at 135 pounds. Colbert entered the first fight off a hard-fought defeat to former super featherweight world champion Hector Luis Garcia in February 2022. After a decorated amateur career, Colbert turned pro in 2015 and took out three undefeated fighters in his first eight bouts. Since then, he took care of a slew of former champions and contenders including Jezzrel Corrales, Jaime Arboleda and Tugstsogt Nyambayar to establish himself as a potential future world champion.

“I’m happy to be back to quiet this sucker once and for all,” said Colbert. “I’m going to show him that there are levels to this boxing game. See you on December 16.”

The 24-year-old Valenzuela (12-2, 8 KOs) appeared to have Colbert hurt and nearly out after the first round knockdown in their first fight. He will look to finish the job if presented the opportunity in the rematch. Born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Valenzuela would have earned a big bounce back victory had he finished Colbert, following a September 2022 defeat to Edwin De Los Santos. Valenzuela, who turned pro in 2018, was sensational prior to that loss, including a first-round knockout of former world champion Francisco Vargas in April 2022 and a five-bout knockout streak before earning his first 10-round decision in a victory over Deiner Berrio in September 2021.

“Training camp is going great so far and I’m preparing really hard for this fight,” said Valenzuela. “I’ve improved a lot. I’m very excited to come back, put it all on display and settle the score when we get into the ring on December 16.”

Trained by the renowned Eddy Reynoso, Martinez (20-2, 15 KOs) first captured his flyweight world title with a ninth-round stoppage of Cristofer Rosales in his stateside debut in December 2019. The 28-year-old has gone on to defend the title five times, besting previously unbeaten opponents Jay Harris and Samuel Carmona, while most recently stopping Ronal Batista in May. A native of Mexico City, Martinez’s only blemish since a split-decision loss in his pro debut was a decision loss to future Hall of Famer Roman Gonzalez in March 2022.

“I’m very excited to return to the ring and I’m having a great training camp to prepare for this fight,” said Martinez. “My goal is to unify titles in this division next year, and I know that I have to beat Cordova to reach that goal. I’m fully focused on him right now, because I can’t get the biggest fights without being impressive on December 16. I’m planning to deliver a spectacular performance.”

The 28-year-old Cordova (18-0-1, 12 KOs) earned a career-best victory in his last outing, as he bested former world champion Angel Acosta on his way to a 10-round unanimous decision victory in April. A native of Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela, Cordova has yet to taste defeat since debuting in 2017, with a draw in just his fourth fight as the only blemish. He made his U.S. debut in June 2022, defeating Axel Aragon Vega by decision before the triumph over Acosta.

“I’m blessed to have this great opportunity to fight for the WBC world title,” said Cordova. “I want to thank Miguel Cotto and the rest of my team for their support. It’s a dream come true. I have worked very hard for this fight on December 16 and I’m ready to show my skills and become the new WBC Flyweight World Champion.”

Guerrero (37-6-1, 20 KOs) is a three-time world champion who has won world titles at featherweight and super featherweight, and has fought a stacked lineup of elite fighters, including Floyd Mayweather, during a superb career. The Gilroy, California native most recently defeated former champion Victor Ortiz in August 2021, running his current winning streak up to four. His 2012 triumph over Berto saw him drop his opponent in rounds one and two on his way to earning the interim WBC welterweight title. That win led directly to the Mayweather fight, as Guerrero would eventually go on to challenge other great welterweights of the era including Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia.

“I won my first world title on SHOBOX, so it’s an honor to be fighting on the last SHOWTIME Boxing event,” said Guerrero. “I’m ready to give the fans another great performance. Everyone knows that when I step into the ring, it’s going to be all action. Berto and I already went to war once, and now we’re gonna meet again. At the end of the day, the fans are gonna win.”

A long-time mainstay of the sport who’s delivered memorable moments, fights and knockouts again and again, Winter Haven, Florida’s Berto (32-5, 24 KOs) returns for revenge against Guerrero, who edged him out via decision in their all-action 2012 brawl. A 2004 Olympian representing Haiti, Berto twice held a 147-pound world championship, first winning the WBC belt with a 2008 stoppage of Miguel Angel Rodriguez. He would go on to defend the title five times, and reclaimed his status by winning the IBF title over Jan Zaveck in 2011. Berto owns victories over Victor Ortiz, Devon Alexander, Josesito Lopez and has challenged Floyd Mayweather and Shawn Porter in a career that has seen Berto engage in numerous Fight of the Year bouts.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (December 8, 2023): With less than a month away for the highly anticipated return of undefeated, knockout sensation Vergil Ortiz, Jr. (19-0, 19 KOs) of Grand Prairie, Texas, who will participate in a 12-round super welterweight fight against Accra, Ghana’s Fredrick “General Okunka” Lawson (30-3, 22 KOs), Golden Boy has finalized a stacked undercard. The event is scheduled to take place at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on January 6, 2024 and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.

As the co-main event, the U.K. ‘s Ohara “Two Tanks” Davies (25-2, 18 KOs) will fight against El Tigre, Venezuela’s Ismael Barroso (24-4-2, 22 KOs). NEW YORK (December 8, 2023)–Split-T Management fighters will be on display on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday night in Bethlehem, PA, undefeated junior welterweight Shamara Woods will make her Split-T debut when she takes on Michaele Nogue at The Wind Creek Event Center.

Woods, who is 2-0 is 27 years-old of Allentown, PA, and began boxing at the age of 14. She embarked on an amateur career that saw her compete in 37 fights and won the WBA International Amateur Title and three Undisputed Promotions Titles.

Dubbed ‘Pure Perfection”, Shamara also has a background in Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

Woods, who is a single mother of a seven year-old boy, turned professional on April 1st with a unanimous decision over Sarah Click in Orlando, Florida. Woods followed that up with a unanimous decision over former world title challenger Samone Da Silva on May 12th in Orlando.

Nogue of Egg Harbor, New Jersey is 2-4 and is coming off a defeat to Carla Torres on October 5th in Washington, D.C.

Woods weighed 140.2 lbs at Thursday’s weigh-in, while Nogue was 139.8 lbs.

On Saturday in Pembroke Pines, Florida, undefeated junior welterweight Tiger Johnson continues his climb up the prospect ladder when he takes on Jimerr Espinosa in an eight-round bout.

The former United States Olympian, Johnson is now 10-0 with five knockouts. The 25 year-old has wins over Xaver Madrid (3-0), Esteban Garcia (15-1), Mike Ohan Jr. (16-1), Jonathan Montrel (15-1) and an eight-round decision over Ricardo Quiroz (13-2) on September 15th in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Espinosa of Mexico City is 15-1 with 14 knockouts. The 25 year-old has wins over Luis Salas (8-2) and a first round stoppage over Emiliano Cruz on May 27th in Mexico.

Sunday in Toronto, former world title challenger, Jessica Camara takes on Farina Roemling in a six-round bout.

The Montreal native, Camara is 11-4 with two knockouts. The 35 year-old Camara has wins over Dalia Velazquez (5-1) and former world champion Heather Hardy (22-1). Camara is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over Joanna Chavarria Lopez on July 22 in New Brunswick, Canada.

Roemling of Cologne, Germany is 5-1 with one knockout. The 30 year-old is coming off a 10-round unanimous decision over Angelika Oles on November 18th in Germany.

Both Woods and Camara are managed by Brian Cohen.

NEW YORK (December 8, 2023) This weekend, DiBella Entertainment fighters are staying busy with bouts in San Francisco, Toronto, and Dubai. Miyo Yoshida, Amanda Galle, Jessica Camara and Lucas Browne are all in action in separate bouts.

Two-time world champion Miyo Yoshida (16-4), of Kagoshima, Japan, will vie for her third world title in a second weight class when she faces Ebanie Bridges (9-1, 4 KOs), of New South Wales, Australia, for the IBF World Bantamweight Title on the undercard of the Devin Haney-Regis Prograis super lightweight championship at the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. Their bout will open up the DAZN Pay-Per-View broadcast beginning at 8pm EST. Yoshida, who previously held the WBO Super Flyweight Title twice, was a late replacement for Bridges’ original opponent.

“A year ago, I moved to New York City with my daughter, and I am very honored to have been given the opportunity to compete for the world title in such a short period of time,” said Yoshida. “I left my stable life in Japan and came to the US with a strong determination to become a world boxing champion again in the United States. That dream is now becoming a reality. Ebanie Bridges is a great champion, but I want to prove by becoming a champion again that dreams always can come true if you don’t give up.”

Former WBA Heavyweight Champion Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne (31-4, 27 KOs), of Perth, Western Australia, will return to the ring on Saturday, following his war with Jarrell Miller earlier this year. He will face undefeated Russian southpaw Mark Petrovsky (6-0, 4 KOs) at the Agenda Arena in Dubai.

“I’m looking forward to getting in the ring and putting on a show,” said Browne. “This is an important fight for me, and a win will put me back on track. Of course, any time I can secure a victory with a highlight reel knockout is extra special to me. I know my opponent was a good amateur, but I’ve seen a few things that I can exploit. I’ve trained well for this bout, and now it’s about executing on the night.”

On Sunday, Amanda Galle (8-0-1, 1 KO), of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, competes for her first world title when she faces Niorkis Carreno (24-3, 19 KOs) for the vacant IBO World Bantamweight Championship at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto. A three-time Canadian National champion and four-time Ringside National champion as an amateur, Galle captured the Canadian women’s super bantamweight title earlier in her pro career. Her opponent, Carreno, of Trujillo, Venezuela, is an experienced contender and three-time world title challenger. Galle is co-promoted by Lee Baxter Promotions, who is promoting the Toronto event.

Former world title challenger Jessica Camara (11-4, 2 KOs), of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, also fights on the Toronto card against Farina Roemling (5-1, 1 KO), of Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, in a six-round super lightweight bout. In 2021, Camara challenged Kali Reis for the unified WBA/WBO/IBO Super Lightweight Championship, losing a very close split decision.

NEW YORK (Dec. 8, 2023) — WBC junior lightweight world champion O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster hopes to cool off the latest challenger to his throne.
 
Foster, the fighting pride of Orange, Texas, will make his second world title defense against Abraham “El Super” Nova on Friday, Feb. 16 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Foster (21-2, 10 KOs) is unbeaten in 11 fights since a split decision loss to Rolando Chinea in July 2016. He returned to the ring in December 2017 with renewed purpose and decorated trainer Bobby Benton in his corner. Since moving to Houston to train with Benton, Foster has fulfilled the promise he displayed during a 100-plus fight amateur career that included a 2010 National PAL title and an alternate berth on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. He won the WBC world title in February with a one-sided decision over Mexican standout Rey Vargas. Eight months later, he salvaged his title with a 12th-round knockout over Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez. Hernandez had a sizable lead on two of the judges’ cards at the time of the stoppage. In November, Foster inked a long-term promotional pact with Top Rank.

Nova signed a co-promotional pact with Top Rank in early 2020 after spending his early career notching victories in Belgium, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and on club shows in the Northeast United States. In June 2022, he suffered his lone career setback, a one-punch knockout at the hands of champion Cuban standout and current world champion Robeisy Ramirez. Following the Ramirez defeat, Nova returned to junior lightweight and picked up wins over veteran Adam Lopez and former world champion Jonathan Romero.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Ramirez (13-1, 8 KOs) made significant strides in 2022 under trainer Ismael Salas, securing victories against Eric Donovan, Abraham Nova, and Jose Matias Romero. He continued his success in 2023 by capturing the WBO featherweight world title with a unanimous decision win over former world champion Isaac Dogboe and defending it with a fifth-round TKO against Satoshi Shimizu in July, establishing himself as a dominant force in the 126-pound division.

Ramirez vs. Espinoza (All Times ET)

MAZATLAN, Mexico (December 5, 2023) –- Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, the first Mexican boxer to capture a world super middleweight title, will promote his first pro boxing show in Mexico this Friday night at Cancha German Evers in his hometown of Mazatlán.

Ramirez’ promotional company, Zurdo Promotions, presents “Zurd01,” a scheduled seven-fight card showcasing a pair of undefeated heavyweights fighting out Houston, Zachary Spiller (4-0, 4 KOs) and Danielle Perkins (3-0, 1 KO), the 2019 World Championships (amateur) gold medalist.

Two Mazatlán fighters are also scheduled to be in action, super lightweights Alfonso Alvarez (2-1 (2 KOs) and Oscar Velez (1-0, 1 KO), as well 23-year-old lightweight Jesus Leon (23-2-2, 19 KOs), from Culiacan.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (December 5, 2023) – In a fight that could seal his fate to become the next face of Mexican boxing superstardom, the undefeated, former World Champion Jaime Munguía (42-0, 33 KOs) will battle former Interim World Champion John “The Gorilla” Ryder (32-6, 18 KOs) of the U.K. in a 12-round super middleweight clash. The explosive fight night, which is presented in association with Zanfer Boxing and Matchroom Boxing, will take place at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, January 27 and broadcast worldwide on DAZN.

Jaime Mungía was last seen in June 2023 winning the WBC Silver Super Middleweight Championship against the rugged, former world title contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko in a masterful performance that was lauded as a Fight of the Year Candidate. Munguía has held the WBO Super Welterweight title from 2018 to 2019, successfully defending it five times.

LONDON, UK – December 5, 2023 – Adam Azim makes the first defence of his EBU European Super Lightweight Title against undefeated former champion Enock Poulsen on Saturday, February 3rd at The OVO Arena Wembley in London, live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, and Peacock in the USA.

Azim and Poulsen’s European Title clash will provide star support for the hugely anticipated WBA World Title Final Eliminator bout between unbeaten #1 and #2 world ranked light heavyweights Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez that headlines a massive night of boxing in the capital.

Josh Kelly will now face Colombian KO artist Placido Ramirez when he returns home to fight in Sunderland on December 16, live on DAZN. 

‘Pretty Boy’ was due to face the dangerous Roarke Knapp but injury has forced the South African out of their super welterweight showdown at the Beacon of Light.

In his place comes Ramirez, the big-punching 29-year-old who heads to Wearside next week knowing that he can catapult himself into world title contention by wrecking Kelly’s homecoming party. 

Kelly, ranked as the No1 contender on the planet, will be fighting in Sunderland for the first time as a professional and knows Ramirez represents a major threat to his big plans for 2024, which include a world title tilt and a fight at the Stadium of Light. 

Also added to the event is one of British boxing’s most exciting young fighters, Tom Welland. 

The 19-year-old announced himself to the paid ranks with a devastating fourth round stoppage win on his debut in Brighton last month. 

And Welland joins Newcastle’s Dan Toward, fresh from his stunning debut knockout triumph in Bolton on Friday night, as Wasserman Boxing showcases two of the country’s brightest young stars on DAZN.

Radovan is ranked No3 with IBF and knew victory in Sunderland would land him a shot at world champion Janibek Alimkhanuly, but injury means the unbeaten 31-year-old must now wait to secure his chance.

December 2, 2023, Miami, FL – Don King Productions’ highly anticipated “People’s Championship” event delivered a spectacular night of fights at the Casino Miami Jai Alai Saturday night. The evening’s main event featured WBA Middleweight Continental USA champion Ian Green (18-2, 12 KOs) successfully defending his title against St. Louis, MO’s challenger Vaughn Alexander (18-8, 11 KOs). Establishing his jab early, the measured Green landed a devasting body shot that floored Alexander for a ten count in the eighth round.

The co-main event saw reigning WBA NABA Welterweight champion Tre’sean Wiggins (16-5-3, 9 KOs) score an emphatic first round TKO over Cincinnati, OH’s Chris Howard (18-3-1, 8 KOs). Stunning Howard within the first ten seconds of the first round, Wiggins quickly found his pace. Wiggins entered this bout on the strength of an impressive four straight victories.

NEW YORK CITY (December 3, 2023) – Celebrated Brooklyn amateur Pryce Taylor (1-0, 1 KO) had an auspicious professional debut this past Friday evening, stopping Mike Diorio in the opening round, on the undercard of a Prime Time Promotions card at Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York.

The 6’ 4”, 265-pound Taylor was a decorated U.S. amateur boxer, highlighted by his two New York Golden Gloves Champion titles, along with four runner-up performances in USA National Championships, including one to Joshua Edwards, who just qualified to represent as a super heavyweight for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Taylor dropped Diorio twice with lethal body shots, after which his corner threw in the towel at the 2:40 mark of round one.

“It was the best feeling in the world to have the whole place filled with my supporters,” Taylor said after the fight. “I was able to show off my boxing skills in front of everyone.”

Taylor’s manager, New York City-based lawyer, Keith Sullivan, already had the 27-year-old Taylor’s second pro fight scheduled in advance, December 16th against Christopher Arnold (5-3, 5 KOs) in a four-round bout on a show, promoted by Boxing Insider Promotions, at Sony Hall in New York City’s Times Square.

“A was a great debut win for Pryce,” Sullivan commented. “He widely focused on technique, not power, and was mindful of not expending too much energy by getting caught up in the moment. He really stayed focused before and during the fight. I’m very proud of how he handled himself.

“It’s important to get that first pro win out of the way. It’s a big leap from the amateurs that not many are capable of making. As an amateur, Pryce was rated as the sixth-best heavyweight in America, and in the top 10-pecent in the world. The skills and hunger are clearly there. NEW YORK (December 2, 2023) – Split-T Management will have two fighters in action tonight.

Undefeated super bantamweight Asa Stevens will take on Dominque Griffin in Houston, while welterweight Chris Howard takes on Tre’Sean Wiggins in Miami.

Stevens of Waianae, Hawaii has a record of 5-0 with two knockouts. The 23 year-old Stevens is a two-year professional, and is coming off a decision win over D’Angelo Hopgood on August 18th in Atlanta.

Griffin of Irving, Texas is 5-5-2 with two knockouts. The 35 year-old Griffin has a win over David Alfaro (1-0) as well as a victory over Nunez (6-0). Griffin is coming off a decision loss to Romuel Cruz on September 29th in Atlantic City.

Stevens weighed 122 lbs. Griffin was 121.6 lbs.

Stevens is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.

At Casino Miami, Howard will take on Tre’Sean Wiggins for the WBA NABA Welterweight title.

Howard of Crossville, Tennessee has a record of 18-2-1 with eight knockouts. The 34 year-old is a 16 year-professional who has defeated Anthony Smith (3-0), Byan Jargal (17-3) and Issouf Kinda (16-0). Howard has won four straight which includes a six-round unanimous decision over Roy Collins on January 13th in Nashville.

Wiggins of Newburgh, New York is 15-53 with eight knockouts. The 33 year-old Wiggins is a 13 year-pro who has had his hand raised over former world champion Jason Sosa (3-0-1), Naim Nelson (13-2), Samuel Teah (15-2-1, Cristian Dominguez (11-2), Travis Castellon (11-2-1) and a 10-round unanimous decision over Nigel Fennell (13-1) on January 21st in Miami.

Howard weighed 146.8 lbs. Wiggins weighed 145.8 lbs.

Chloe Watson says “this is just the beginning” after she won the European flyweight title in a bruising Bolton battle, live and free-to-air on Channel 5.

The pride of Birkenhead defeated France’s Justine Lallemand on points at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last night, awarded victory by the ringside judges with scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94.

Watson, 23, was roared on by a raucous band of supporters at the Wasserman Boxing event as she claimed the first title of her professional career, in only her seventh professional contest.

Guided in the corner by British boxing legend Ricky Hatton, Watson got to grips with the experienced Lallemand and her relentless pressure told as she took a unanimous decision win, in front of the Channel 5 cameras.

After a fight that was delivered in association with Ladbrokes, Numan and Infinitum, Chloe Watson said: “It was a good scrap, as you can see from the bump on my head!

“This is my first title as a professional and it means so much.  I knew this fight was a step in the right direction and I know there is still loads to work on in the gym so this is just the beginning.”

Following Watson’s title triumph, super welterweight Dan Toward stepped into the ring for the first time as a professional and made a massive statement.

The 10 times national amateur champion from Newcastle, stopped Fabrizio Rubino late in the second round to announce himself in the paid ranks.

He told Channel 5 afterwards: “I am my own worst critic and always feel like I can box better but it was still a good performance and I got the finish.

“I’m back out again in Sunderland, on December 16, on the Josh Kelly undercard and I will be bringing big nights to the North East myself in the future.”

And in the other of the night’s Main Card fights, heavyweight Nathan Gorman returned after over a year out of the ring, a lost a decision to Ukraine’s Bohdan Myronets.

LIVERPOOL, UK (November 30, 2023) – Karriss Artingstall will face Lila dos Santos Furtado on the undercard of the IBF World Welterweight Title clash between Natasha Jonas and Mikaela Mayer on January 20th at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and on ESPN+ in the USA.

Artingstall (5-0, 1 KO) is back in business following a destructive second-round KO win over Vanessa Bradford on October 21st at York Hall. The former WBA World Super Featherweight Title challenger had never been stopped before sharing a ring with Artingstall, who made light work of the Canadian, who had previously gone the distance with Alycia Baumgardner and Hyun Mi Choi.

“Of course, I was happy with my performance. I did something no one else managed to do,” said Artingstall. “I always come to hurt my opponents, to get the win is the most important thing, but to hurt my opponent and to make them quit, there’s no better feeling.”

The 2020 Olympic bronze medallist will be aiming to continue the successful start to her professional career by securing a statement win against the Brazilian dos Santos Furtado (9-1, 1 KO), who returns to the UK following a WBC International Title fight with Raven Chapman earlier this year.

“I think I’ve had a good start to my journey as a professional fighter,” said Artingstall. “I mean, it could be better as I’d like a belt to my name which is definitely the focus for 2024. Next year, I’d like to cement my place at the top of the division and challenge for those world titles.”

Amanda Serrano currently holds all the belts at 126 lbs, and while Artingstall is focused on working her way into title contention, the 29-year-old has also been linked to fights with domestic rival Raven Chapman and Australia’s Skye Nicolson, who Artingstall beat in the 2020 Olympic quarterfinals to claim bronze.

“I’ve mentioned previously who I’d like to fight as I believe it would be great for the fans,” said the 29-year-old southpaw. “But for now, I’m just interested in fighting whoever is going to improve my world ranking.”

Irish Caoimhin Agyarko will face England’s Troy Williamson for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental super welterweight belt this Saturday at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

Agyarko, a top prospect in the division who has been a regional champion in the past, will be looking for another victory in this Matchroom event which will feature Miachel Conlan taking on Jordan Gill in the main event for the WBA super featherweight international belt. 

The 27-year-old undefeated fighter is strong and knows how to put on a show and will be going into his second fight this year. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Grant Dennis in his most recent fight in Dublin in May.

Williamson is a 32 years old fighter with good professional experience who has been British champion and has faced good level opponents. The Briton is coming from defeating Ramiro Blanco in his last fight, which was last July 15. 

It should be noted that at the end of 2022 he suffered the only professional loss of his career against Josh Kelly and now he is trying to recover and knows that a victory in this fight could be a catapult to the elite for him. 

Agyarko is undefeated in 13 fights, 7 of them won by knockout. For his part, Williamson has 20 wins, 1 setback, 1 draw and 14 knockouts.
