This will be Boxing Insider Promotions’ second fight card. Their first, on October 13, also at Sony Hall, had a raucous standing-room-only crowd.

“I’m looking forward to coming to New York, as it has been a dream of mine to fight there,” said Urbina. “Indeya Smith is a good fighter. She’s fought great opposition and she’s rugged. I just know I am there to win and this will be my Christmas present.”

Born in Mexico now living in Phoenix, AZ, Urbina began her boxing life fighting at the Oxnard PAL as an amateur. She turned pro in 2016 and won her first 12 bouts (with one no contest mixed in). Her first loss, on October 30, 2020, came on points against Marlen Esparza, who is now the unified WBC/WBA flyweight world champion. On July 9, 2021, Sulem fought WBA flyweight champion Naoko Fujioka and lost a majority decision.

Andy Dominguez (8-0, 6 KOs) from The Bronx and born in Mexico, knocked out his last opponent in the first round in front of many of his family and friends. It was Andy’s fourth knockout win in a row. Andy turned pro in August 2020, in a bubble event during the pandemic peak. On Wednesday, Dominguez will face Nicaraguan Marvin Solano (24-7, 8 KOs) in an eight-round flyweight bout.

Nadim Salloum (9-1, 4 KOs) is the first and only professional boxer to be born and raised in Lebanon. Nadim now resides in Brooklyn and has a passionate following. The Lebanese faithful’s fandom did not go unnoticed at Nadim’s last fight on October 13 at Sony Hall. On Wednesday, Nadim will battle Decarlo Perez (19-6, 6 KOs) in an eight-round super middleweight bout.

He rolled through his first 20 bouts, which earned him a WBO Latino super middleweight title fight that he lost by split decision in 2020. He would rebound in his next fight, winning the WBA Intercontinental super middleweight title on August 13, 2021, with a ninth-round stoppage. On December 21, Sims Jr. will fight Anthony Todd (14-6, 8 KOs) from Atlanta, GA, in an eight-round middleweight bout.

Elon “El Leon” de Jesus (4-1, 3 KOs), from Dunkirk, NY, made his professional debut on December 18, 2020. Elon will fight in a six-round bantamweight bout against Jesus Arturo “Chucho” Guzman (8-10, 5 KOs).

“Since I have made it to the professional ranks, boxing has grown so much back in Lebanon,” said Nadim. “People know that it is doable at least now. Every time I go back home, I do an event just talking and showing them videos explaining to them how boxing really works and share my story at the same time – what happens behind the scenes for a Lebanese boxer. Last summer we gathered around 60 people and taught them more about the sport. Next summer I plan to do a training camp for kids in need with a Lebanese American NGO as well so keep them out of streets through boxing.

Elon “El Leon” de Jesus (4-1, 3 KOs) from Dunkirk, NY, made his professional debut on December 18, 2020.  Elon will fight in a six-round bantamweight bout against Jesus Arturo “Chucho” Guzman (8-10, 5 KOs).

Vincent Astrolabio stopped Nikolai Potapov in round six of their 12-round bantamweight bout.

In round five, Astrolabio landed a body punch that put Potapov on a knee. In round six, another body shot sent Potapov down for the count at 1:26.

Omar Juarez was deducted three points for low blows but won a 10-round unanimous decision over Austin Dulay in a super lightweight bout.

The 23-year-old Juarez (13-1, 5 KOs) enters the ring propelled by momentum gained from his efforts inside and outside the ring. The only blemish on his record  came from a narrow majority decision loss to All Rivera in a thrilling bout in June 2021. Since then, the former standout amateur has won his last two fights, most recently earning a 10-round decision victory over Ryan Karl in February. A native of Brownsville, Texas, Juarez has achieved recognition in his community by uplifting the state’s youth through motivational speaking, receiving commendations from the Texas State Senate and the Texas House of Representatives for his altruism.

Dulay (15-3, 11 KOs) will also step into the ring having won his most previous outing, as he scored a first round TKO of Anthony Michael Linenfelser in April. The 27-year-old had lost two of his previous three bouts, dropping bouts against veteran contender Diego Magdaleno in February 2020 and rising lightweight Jose Valenzuela in December 2021. Fighting out of his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, Dulay won his first 11 pro bouts, with his only other letdown coming against super featherweight contender Chris Colbert.

Fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona, Garcia (12-0, 10 KOs) will look to close out 2022 with his fourth victory of the year, having most recently knocked out Edgar Valenzuela in October to establish himself as a prospect to keep an eye on. The 19-year-old has moved fast since turning pro in 2020, knocking out his first six opponents and four of his last five. He will face the 33-year-old Stewart (8-1, 6 KOs), who was born in Illinois but now resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Stewart steps back into the ring after dropping a decision against the unbeaten Hakim Lopez in his previous bout in June.

NEW YORK (December 16, 2022) — Tonight at Centre Gervais Arena in Shawnigan, Quebec, Canada, undefeated knockout artist Mary Spencer goes after her first world title when she takes on veteran former world champion Femke Hermans for the IBO Super Welterweight world title.

Spencer of Montreal has accumulated an impressive record that reads 7-0 with five knockouts.

Hermans of Belgium is 13-4 with five knockouts. Hermans is a former Belgium and WBF International champion. Hermans won the WBO Super Middleweight title on May 12, 2018 with a 10-round unanimous decision over Nikki Adler (16-1). Her only losses have come in world title bouts.

At Thursday’s weigh-in both fighters came in at a ready 152.8 lbs.

The Russian-born Makhmudov (15-0, 14 KOs) has been based in Montreal since beginning his professional journey in December 2017. Makhmudov, who is promoted by Eye of the Tiger and Top Rank, opened his 2022 campaign with February’s sixth-round knockout over former world title challenger Mariusz Wach. THE WBA WORLD flyweight championship clash between the champion Artem Dalakian from Ukraine and Costa Rican challenger David Jiminez will take place in support of the forthcoming Artur Beterbiev-Anthony Yarde blockbuster at the OVO Arena, Wembley on January 28, live on BT Sport.

ORLANDO, FL– -Orestes Velazquez remained undefeated as Guillermo Leonel Crocco could not continue to fight in round two of their 10-round super lightweight bout that headlined the WBA Convention KO for Drugs Night of Champions Fight card at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

After the first round, Crocco complained of a shoulder injury and the fight was stopped one second into round two.

Velazquez is now 6-0 with six knockouts. Crocco is 20-3-1.

Francisco Daniel Veron stopped Leonardo Ruiz in round five of their 10-round welterweight fight featuring undefeated fighters.

Veron was dominant throughout and the fight was stopped after a hard flurry of punches in round five at 2:37.

Veron of Argentina is now 11-0 with nine knockouts. Ruiz of Pomona, CA is 11-1.

Yamaguchi Falcao stopped Ernest Amuzu in round seven of their round super middleweight bout.

Falcao dropped Anuzu in round two. Falcao dropped Amuzu again in round seven, and the fight was stopped after the corner threw in the towel.

Falcao of Brazil is 24-1-1 with 10 knockouts. Amuzu is now 26-8.

Melvin Lopez won a 10-round split decision over Jobert Alvarez in a bantamweight bout.

Lopez won by scores of 97-92 and 95-94, while Alvarez took a card 95-94.

Conor Coyle remained undefeated as he stopped Sladen Janjanin in a scheduled 10-round middleweight bout.

Idalberto Umara stopped Emiliano Martin Garcia in round five of their 10-round lightweight bout.

In round three, Umara dropped Garcia with a strong right hand. At the end of the round, Umara was able to send Garcia down again with a left hook off of a flurry. Umara ended things in round five when he landed a booming right hand that sent Garcia down and the fight was stopped at 2:17

Umara is now 8-1 with five knockouts. Garcia is 18-9-1.

Jeovanny Estela won a six-round unanimous decision over Luis Eduardo Florez in a welterweight bout.

Estela dropped Florez with a body shot in round five. Florez was docked a point at the end of round five for hitting behind the head. Estela registered a second knockdown in round six with a right hand.

Estela won by scores of 60-52 on all cards and is now 10-0. Florez is 25-25.

Ibrahimo Diallo won a six-round unanimous decision over Carlos Cruz in a middleweight bout.

Diallo of Guinea won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 6-0. Cruz of Nicaragua is 2-9.

Raiko Santana scored a mild upset as he took a 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Joseph George in a super middleweight bout.

Santana hurt George several times throughout the fight and won by scores of 98-91, 97-93 and 96-94 to raise his record to 9-3. George of Houston, TX is 12-1.

Damian Lescaille stopped veteran Rondale Hubbert in the opening round of their six-round welterweight bout.

Lescaille of Cuba dropped Hubbert three times and the bout was stopped at 2:39.

Lesxaille of Cuba is 2-0 with one knockout. Hubbert of Minnesota is 14-25-3.

Herich Ruiz Cordoba stopped Phillip Jean Seide in the opening round of their six-round heavyweight bout.

In round one, Cordoba landed some blistering left hands. Just before the end of the round, Cordoba landed a booming left that snapped back the head of Seide and dropped him to the canvas and the fight was stopped just as the bell sounded to end the round.

Alex Rios Vega pounded out a four-round unanimous decision over Christopher Nelson in a junior welterweight bout.

Vega, 138 1/4 lbs of Saint Cloud, FL won by scores of 40-36 and 39-37 twice and is now 5-0. Nelson, 132 3/4 lbs of Kentucky is 4-22.

Terence Crawford retained the WBO Welterweight title with a devastating sixth round stoppage of David Aanesyan in front of a big crowd in Omaha, Nebraska.

In round six, Crawford landed a straight left and flush right hook to the jaw that sent Avanesyan down and out cold on his back and the fight was over at 2:14.

Crawford, 146.6 lbs of Omaha scored his 10th straight knockout to raise his mark to 39-0 with 30 knockouts. Avanesyan, 146.8 lbs of Pyatigorsk, RUS is 28-4-1

Jonathan Rodriguez stopped Nestor Robledo in round three of their scheduled six-round super bantamweight bout at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

Rodriguez dropped Robledo in round one with a hard left hook. Rodriguez dominated the action was stopped in round three.

Rodriguez of Bethlehem, PA is 12-1-1 with four knockouts. Robledo is 9-14-2.

James Bernadin remained undefeated by stopping William Parra Smith in round two of their six-round junior welterweight bout.

Bernadin landed an overhand right that opened up a cut over the left eye of Smith and the bout was stopped.

Bernadin of Lancaster, PA is now 9-0-1 with six knockouts. Smith of Anchorage, AK is 4-13-1.

Rasheed Johnson won a six-round unanimous decision over Antonio Wattell in a welterweight bout.

Johnson of Philadelphia won by 60-54 scores on all cards and is now 9-4. Wattell of Houston, TX is 3-12

Julian Gonzalez stopped Eric Manriquez in round two of their four-round junior lightweight bout.

Gonzalez dropped Manriquez twice in the opening frame. Gonzalez ended things with a perfect right that dropped Manriquez and the fight was halted 12 seconds into round two.

Gonzalez of Reading, PA is 8-0-1 with eight knockouts. Manriquez of Houston, TX is 7-15-1.

Alexis Mones and Devany Torres fought to a four-round split draw in a super flyweight bout.

Scores were 39-37 for Mones. Torres took a card 40-36 and a third card was 38-38.

Mones of Fort Worth, TX was making his pro debut. Torres of San Antonio, TX is 2-2-1.

Former undisputed lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez took a 10-round split decision over Sandor Martin at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In round two, Martin was cut in the bridge of the nose from a headbutt. Later in the round, Martin was able to score a knockdown when Lopez charged in and Martin landed a little right hook to the side of the head. In round four, Martin began to bleed from the nostrils. Martin was awkward, but Lopez had a better workrate and landed more punches as the punch stat statistics read 97 of 391 for Lopez, while Marin was 77 of 244.

The scorecards read 97-92 and 96-93 for Lopez. Martin won a card 95-94.

Lopez is now 18-1. Martin is 40-3.

Jared Anderson Takes Out Forrest in 2

Jared Anderson remained perfect with a second round destruction of Jerry Forrest in their 10-round heavyweight bout.

After Forrest landed a couple of power punches in round one, Anderson unleashed a blitz of vicious power shots that landed on the head of Forrest. Forrest did not go down, but that meant he ate more destructive punches in the second frame and finally referee David Fields mercifully ended the fight at 1:34 of round two.

Anderson of Toledo, OH is 13-0 with 13 knockouts. Forrest is 26-6-2.

Zayas Decisions Salazar

Xander Zayas remained undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Alexis Salazar in a junior middleweight bout.

Zayas won by scores of 80-72 and 79-73 twice and is now 15-0. Salazar is 25-5.

Davis Decisions Burgos

Hot-prospect Keyshawn Davis won a eight-round unanimous decision over former three-time world title challenger Juan Carlos Burgos in a lightweight bout.

Davis won by scores of 80-72 on all cards and is now 7-0. Burgos of Tijuana, MEX is 35-7-3.

Joe Ward won an eight-round unanimous decision over Frederick Julan in a light heavyweight bout.

Ward of Moate, IRE won by scores of 79-73 twice and 78-74 and is now 8-1. Julan of Brooklyn, NY is 12-2.

Damian Knyba stopped Emilio Salas in round two of their six-round heavyweight bout.

The bout was stopped at 1:50 for Knyba who is now 10-0 with six knockouts. Salas is 10-4-1.

Tiger Johnson stopped Mike Ohan in round five of their eight-round junior welterweight bout.

Johnson hurt Ohan with a hard right hand and then unleashed 20 unanswered shots that forced referee Steve Willis to stop the bout at 1:29.

Damian Knyba stopped Emilio Salas in the second round two of their six-round heavyweight bout.

Knyba hurt Salas and he was out on his feet until the corner of Salas stopped the bout at 1:50.

Knyba, 245.8 lbs of Bydgoszcz, POL is 10-0 with six knockouts. Salas, 217 lbs of San Sebastian, PR is 7-4-1.

Luis Alberto Lopez won the IBF Featherweight title with a majority decision over Josh Warrington at The First District Arena in Warrington’s hometown of Leeds, England.

Lopez, 124.3 lbs of Mexicali. MEX won by scores of 115-113 twice and 114-114 and is now 27-2. Warrington, 125.3 lbs of Leeds, England is now 31-2-1.

Ebanie Bridges made the first defense of the IBF Bantamweight title with a eighth round stoppage over Shannon O’Connell.

In round three, Bridges dropped O’Connell with a big counter right. In round five, the right side of O’Connell’s face began to swell up.

In round eight, Bridges continues to pound away on O’Connell and then land a flurry of flush shots before the fight was stopped at 1:45.

NEW YORK (December 9, 2022) -Split-T Management fighters will dominate the boxing world on Saturday as former undisputed lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez takes on Sandor Martin in a WBC Elimination bout at Madison Square Garden. Earlier in the day, IBF Bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges makes the first defense of her title when she takes on Shannon O’Connell. If that wasn’t enough, 2020 United States Olympian Tiger Johnson will kick off the festivities at Madison Square Garden when he battles Mike Ohan Jr. in a eight-round junior middleweight bout.

Lopez will be looking to take big a step towards becoming a two-division world champion when he takes on the upset-specialist Martin. The bout will headline in what has become Lopez’ annual fight night at the Garden that follows the Heisman Trophy presentation on ESPN.

Lopez of Las Vegas by way of Brooklyn is 17-1 with 13 knockouts. The 25 year-old is one of the popular and charismatic pugilists in the sport. He has become a staple fighting at The Garden on Heisman night he stopped Mason Menard in the opening round in 2018, and In 2019, Lopez knocked out Richard Commey in two rounds to win the IBF Lightweight title.

On October 17, 2020, Lopez won a 12-round unanimous decision over Vasiliy Lomachenko to capture the undisputed Lightweight title. Lopez made his super lightweight debut on August 13th by stopping Pedro Camoa in seven rounds in Las Vegas.

Bridges of New South Wales, Australia is 8-1 with three knockouts. The 36 year-old won the IBF Bantamweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Maria Cecilia Roman on March 26th in Leeds.

O’Connell, 39, of Queensland, Australia is 23-6-1 with 11 knockouts. She has wins over Nareele Leahy (1-0). Gabisile Tshabalala (8-0-1), Edina Kiss (10-1), Bianca Elmie (3-0), Kylie Fulmer (7-0), Cherneka Johnson (13-0), Taylah Robinson (3-0) and her last bout when she stropped Sarah Higginson in the opening round on June 29th in Queensland.

Bridges was 117.75 lbs, while O’Connell was 117.35 lbs at Friday’s weigh-in.

Thomas Mattice has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.
 
Mattice (20-3-1 15 KOs) recorded the biggest win of his career in his last outing, taking the unbeaten record of Christian Tapia in his Cleveland hometown in November, and landing the WBC Continental Americas Super-Featherweight title in the process. Mattice floored the Puerto Rican in the second round and kept his nose in front to land a massive victory in a division he has been longing to establish himself in.

MIAMI, FL (December 9, 2022)—One of the most exciting fighters in the world, WBC World Cruiserweight Champion Ilunga Junior Makabu will defend his title against the WBC Silver Champion Noel Mikaelyan on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Casino Miami Jai-Alai.

Hall of Fame promoter Don King has called the card, “Let Freedom Ring!  Clash of the Champions!”.

“These are the two best cruiserweights in the world,” said King.  “We are going to give Miami and boxing fans across the country another action-packed boxing card.  Makabu will show the world once again why he is number one and Mikaelyan is out to prove he’s the best.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the action will begin at 7 p.m.

Makabu (29-2, 25 KOs) will defend his title for the first time in a year.  He last fought Jan. 29 of this year in Warren, OH, winning a split decision over Thabiso Mchunu.  That victory was only his second defense of his title since Dec. 19, 2020.

Makabu won the vacant title on Jan. 31, 2020 in South Africa in scoring a unanimous decision over challenger Michael Cieslak  and defended the title 11 months later on Dec. 19^th and knocked out Olanrewaju in the 7^th round in Kinshasa.

Makabu, 35, who hails from the Republic of the Congo, has won 10 consecutive fights since his second career loss coming in the WBC World Cruiserweight Championship on May 29, 2016 when he got knocked out in the third round by Tony Bellew.  The bout was a slugfest as Makabu knocked Bellew down with a left hook in the first round.

Mikaelyan (26-2, 11 KOs), who is 32-years-old from Hamburg, Germany, became the WBC Silver Cruiserweight champion in his last fight, Feb. 12 of this year as he thoroughly dominated his opponent Youri Kayembre Kalenga in a 12-round unanimous decision. 

After losing a close decision to Mairis Briedis in Chicago on Nov. 10, 2018 for the WBC Diamond Cruiserweight championship, Mikaelyan rebounded to win the vacant WBC International Cruiserweight title in Miami on Dec. 12, 2020 as he stopped Jesse Bryan in the fourth round.
