Najee Lopez Stops Gallegos in 8th Round of War

In a terrific back and forth fight, Najee Lopez remained undefeated as he fought through a cut and a knockdown to stop Manuel Gallegos in round eight of their 10-round light heavyweight bout at Oceana Heritage in Kissimmee, Florida.

In round two, Lopez was bleeding over the right eye from a headbutt.

In round seven, Lopez came out firing and landed a big right but it was Gallegos who landed a big right of his own that put Lopez on the deck. Seconds later another clash of heads opened up a cut under the right eye of Gallegos. In round eight, Lopez landed a hard left-right to the side of that head that rocked Gallegos and sent him reeling back. That was followed by about 10 flush punches that put Gallegos down from that hard flurry that forced referee Christopher Young to stop the bout at 2:41.

Lopez, 174.8 lbs of Ellenwood, GA is now 16-0 with 13 knockouts. Gallegos, 174.4 lbs of Los Mochis, MEX is 22-4-1.

“That just shows you I’m a true champion and I’m here to stay,” said an overjoyed Lopez, post-fight. I’m willing to prove it every time I step in the ring. He (Gallegos) was the best version of himself possible. I fought a true champion tonight. I’m not going to lie. That ring was small and he’s a big guy. I felt not only his shots; I let his presence. He came to win, but I showed I was there to win, too. It came down to nutrition and willpower. We both had a game plan, But I had more will.

“That’s a tough mf right there, continued Lopez. “Soon as I had him on the hook, I wasn’t going to let him off. That was 100% of a test and I feel like I passed it.”

Dominic Valle was in tough but won a hard fought 10-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Ramirez in a super featherweight bout.

In round seven, Valle was bleeding over his right eye from a headbutt.

Valle landed 152 of 591 punches. Ramirez landed 159 of 593.

Brandon McCarthy Signs with Wise Owl Boxing, Set to Make Noise at 135 lbs

Wise Owl Boxing, led by boxing manager Mark Habibi, proudly announces the signing of undefeated lightweight sensation Brandon McCarthy to its elite management stable.

McCarthy, a decorated Irish standout, brings one of the most accomplished amateur résumés in recent memory. The 16-time National Champion compiled an astonishing amateur record of 200-15, earning widespread recognition throughout Ireland and internationally for his skill, toughness, and championship pedigree.

Since turning professional, McCarthy has wasted no time making his mark. He currently stands at 5-0 as a pro and has already demonstrated rapid progression in the paid ranks. After debuting on the respected ProBox platform in a four-round bout, McCarthy advanced to six-round contests by just his second professional fight — a clear indication of both his readiness and the confidence his team has in his ability.

Now training out of the world-renowned Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California, under acclaimed trainer Marvin Somodio, McCarthy is sharpening his tools among elite company as he prepares to climb the lightweight ranks.

Wise Owl Boxing, owned by Habibi, manages an elite stable of fighters including highly ranked contender Brandon Adams, who is on the cusp of a world title opportunity, as well as multiple Olympians who have successfully transitioned into the professional ranks.

Habibi believes McCarthy is a natural fit for the Wise Owl family.

“Brandon is the perfect addition to our stable,” said Habibi. “His amateur career is incredibly impressive — 200 wins doesn’t happen by accident. That experience is exactly why he was able to move into six-round fights so quickly against tough competition. He doesn’t shy away from anyone. I love that killer instinct. He’s going to make a lot of noise at 135 pounds.”

McCarthy is scheduled to make his first appearance under Wise Owl Boxing management in April, on a card to be officially announced in the coming weeks.

With his decorated background, relentless style, and championship mindset, Brandon McCarthy now begins the next chapter of his career — one that Wise Owl Boxing fully expects to lead to major opportunities in one of boxing’s deepest and most exciting divisions.

Salazar of Tyler, Texas was a 2022 USA Boxing National champion and 2023 National Golden Gloves champion. His amateur career spanned over 50 bouts and was a three-time Texas State Golden Gloves champion.

“I chose to sign with Split-T Management and David McWater because they have a proven track record of developing elite fighters and guiding them from the amateur level to the top of the sport,” said Salazar. “David understands boxing at every level—from the amateurs to world championships—and he knows how to move fighters the right way. Split-T has that reputation, and I’m confident they can take my career to the next level.”

Salazar continued: “My style is a blend of IQ, pressure, and precision. I’m aggressive when I need to be, but I stay smart behind my jab and use angles to control the pace. The hard hitting lefty is eager to get his career going towards that goal and will make his professional debut at the start of 2026.

“Fans can expect an explosive, high-energy fight every time I step into the ring. I’m a powerful southpaw who presses the action, breaks opponents down, and looks for clean, damaging shots. I bring excitement—smart pressure, sharp counters, and the kind of power that can change a fight at any moment. When I’m in there, I’m coming to dominate and give fans a performance they’ll remember.”
