Brandon McCarthy Signs with Wise Owl Boxing, Set to Make Noise at 135 lbs

Wise Owl Boxing, led by boxing manager Mark Habibi, proudly announces the signing of undefeated lightweight sensation Brandon McCarthy to its elite management stable.

McCarthy, a decorated Irish standout, brings one of the most accomplished amateur résumés in recent memory. The 16-time National Champion compiled an astonishing amateur record of 200-15, earning widespread recognition throughout Ireland and internationally for his skill, toughness, and championship pedigree.

Since turning professional, McCarthy has wasted no time making his mark. He currently stands at 5-0 as a pro and has already demonstrated rapid progression in the paid ranks. After debuting on the respected ProBox platform in a four-round bout, McCarthy advanced to six-round contests by just his second professional fight — a clear indication of both his readiness and the confidence his team has in his ability.

Now training out of the world-renowned Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California, under acclaimed trainer Marvin Somodio, McCarthy is sharpening his tools among elite company as he prepares to climb the lightweight ranks.

Wise Owl Boxing, owned by Habibi, manages an elite stable of fighters including highly ranked contender Brandon Adams, who is on the cusp of a world title opportunity, as well as multiple Olympians who have successfully transitioned into the professional ranks.

Habibi believes McCarthy is a natural fit for the Wise Owl family.

“Brandon is the perfect addition to our stable,” said Habibi. “His amateur career is incredibly impressive — 200 wins doesn’t happen by accident. That experience is exactly why he was able to move into six-round fights so quickly against tough competition. He doesn’t shy away from anyone. I love that killer instinct. He’s going to make a lot of noise at 135 pounds.”

McCarthy is scheduled to make his first appearance under Wise Owl Boxing management in April, on a card to be officially announced in the coming weeks.

With his decorated background, relentless style, and championship mindset, Brandon McCarthy now begins the next chapter of his career — one that Wise Owl Boxing fully expects to lead to major opportunities in one of boxing’s deepest and most exciting divisions.

Jeter Promotions Kacey Wheeler Back in Action on November 22

HANOVER, MD. (November 12,2025)–Recent Jeter Promotions signee Kacey Wheeler will be back in Action on Saturday, November 22nd at The Hall at Live! Casino Hotel Maryland.

The undefeated knockout artist from Fairfax, Virginia is 3-0 with all wins coming via knockout.

“I think Kacie will become the first world champion for Jeter Promotions and we are happy to have her signed with us,” Tony Jeter of Jeter Promotions.

The 29-year-old was a division-1 track star as she ran track at William & Mary and held school records for the 400 meters and the four-by-400 relay.

The competitive Wheeler then started training in boxing out of spite for an ex-boyfriend,

“I had no idea what to do after college. My boyfriend broke up with me and then the Pandemic hit. His sister used to braid my hair like I would see some of the women fighters, and then I saw an ad for round card girls on Barstool,” said Wheeler.

“They have this series called Rough-and-Rowdy, so I won the round card girl contest while competing in the fights. I fought eight-times in that and I had five amateur fights.”

“I have an athletic background and I am a strength and conditioning coach for professional athletes.

Wheeler, who is promoted by Jeter Promotions, signed a managerial contract with the top female boxing manager Brian Cohen of Split-T Management.

“Something about Brian is genuine and authentic and it is important that he has managed a lot of female fighters and he gave me the confidence to sign with Jeter Promotions.”

“Signing with Jeter is a great fit as I will be fighting close to home and I know he will help me with securing the big opportunities.”

Wheeler turned pro November 2, 2024 with a second round stoppage over Sarah Cunningham,. Wheeler followed that up with consecutive first round stoppages over Natali Fagan (1-0) and her most recent outing when she took out Shamiah Jones on September 20th in Fort Washington, Maryland.

In the main event “Crowning” portion of Boxfest XVI, Deonte “Lay Em Down” Brown (16-0, 11 KOs) of Morgan City, Louisiana, puts his unblemished record on the line in a ten-round, WBA Continental Americas Super Featherweight title fight against Venezuelan power puncher Grimardi Machuca (17-2, 14 KOs). Brown, trained by Chelo Betancourt in New York and known for his explosive knockouts, looks to extend his perfect record against Machuca, a dangerous veteran who has dropped world-level opponents and is eager to spoil Brown’s momentum.

In the co-main event “Redemption” bout of the evening, Saul “The Beast” Sanchez (21-4, 12 KOs) of Encino, Calif., looks to even the score against Puerto Rico’s Edwin Rodriguez (12-9-2, 5 KOs, who defeated Sanchez in 2019. Known for his aggressive style and fan-friendly fights, Sanchez has built a reputation as one of Southern California’s most exciting bantamweights and is eager to make a statement in his comeback after nearly a year out of the ring. Standing in his way is Rodriguez, a 13-year veteran who has faced a deep roster of tough opposition throughout his career. Rodriguez enters the bout hungry to pull off an upset and derail Sanchez’s path back toward title contention in their scheduled eight-round bantamweight clash.

Another highlight of the card will be the professional debut of 2020 U.S. Olympian Rashida Ellis, who steps into the ring as the highlighted “Debut” of Boxfest XVI after an impressive run in the Team Combat League, where she won every round she fought. Ellis, from Lynn, Massachusetts, will face her toughest test yet right out of the gate when she takes on seasoned Mexican veteran Maria “Polverita” Salinas (27-12-6, 7 KOs).A four-time world title challenger, Salinas has shared the ring with some of the sport’s elite and brings a wealth of experience into the six-round women’s featherweight contest.

The tournament was produced to support U.S. amateur boxing in Las Vegas, with the guidance of Barry’s Boxing Center, a Las Vegas non-profit committed to shaping youth through discipline, community, and the sport of boxing. Local gyms such as Mayweather Boxing Club, Richard Steele’s Boxing Gym, Vargas Boxing, Las Vegas Fight Club, Salas Boxing Academy, Knuckleheads Boxing Gym, Pound For Pound, Center Ring Boxing, DLX Boxing, Mob Boxing, among others, proudly showed up with young fighters eager to shine.
