Irish Olympian Kurt Walker Signs Professional Contract with Top Rank

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 10, 2021) — Kurt Walker spent the better part of a decade excelling in the Irish amateur system, a standout run culminating in an appearance at the Tokyo Olympics. He now hopes to replicate that success in the paid ranks.

Walker, a 26-year-old native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, signed a multi-year contract with Top Rank and is the latest European star to ink a deal with the promotional powerhouse. Walker is managed by Michael and Jamie Conlan, the Belfast brothers who had a front-row seat to his development. Their father, John Conlan, coached Walker as an amateur.

“Kurt Walker is someone who stood out at the Tokyo Olympics, as he has a devoted fan base back home and a style suited to the pro game,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. “He has a great team behind him, and with his skills and demeanor, he can become a major star in the sport.”

Walker said, “Signing with Top Rank, the best promoter in the game, is a dream come true. This will help me achieve my goal of becoming a world champion. Seeing how Top Rank builds their fighters into superstars was something that appealed to me. I also want to thank Michael and Jamie Conlan for making this a possibility, and alongside Top Rank, I have the utmost confidence that my team will guide me in the right direction.”

Michael Conlan added, “Jamie and I are delighted to announce our first signing. We believe Top Rank is the ideal fit, especially given their commitment to building fighters on both sides of the Atlantic. I’ve trained alongside Kurt for many years, and his talent shined through in the gym and at the Tokyo Olympics. Although Kurt lost to Duke Ragan in Tokyo, they are now under the same promotional umbrella. That is a fight we’d love to make for him down the road.”

Walker and Ragan fought in the Olympic quarterfinals with a guaranteed medal on the line. Ragan, who is 4-0 as a pro, earned the 3-2 split decision. Before running into Ragan, Walker upset Uzbekistan’s gold medal favorite and 2019 World Championships gold medalist, Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov. Walker established his amateur credentials with gold medals at the 2019 European Games and 2018 EU Championships, a silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and three consecutive Irish Senior Elite titles from 2015-2017.

PAKISTAN SUPERSTAR MUHAMMAD WASEEM JOINS PROBELLUM

Los Angeles, CA – November 10, 2021 – Probellum is delighted to announce the signing of one of the best flyweight fighters in the world – Pakistan’s former world title challenger Muhammad Waseem.

Waseem (11-1, 8 knockouts) is one of Pakistan’s biggest sports stars, having had immense success as both an amateur and professional boxer.

The 34-year-old has been involved in some massive fights in his career, most notably when he challenged Moruti Mthalane for the IBF flyweight title in 2018, controversially coming up narrowly short on points, in a fight that saw Waseem drop Mthalane.

He had a memorable homecoming in Lahore during his last outing back in December, and is now set to return to the ring later this month, when he competes in Dubai against Rober Barrera on November 26.

A victory in that fight would see Waseem move one step closer to another crack at world honors, as he looks to make history as the first ever Pakistani-born world champion, with Probellum hoping to then stage a world title fight in Pakistan in 2022.

As an amateur, he won a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, along with a gold medal at the 2010 World Combat Games in Beijing, a silver medal at the 2010 South Asian Games in Dhaka, and a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.

Waseem is also known for his incredible charity work outside of the ring, regularly giving back to organizations in Pakistan and around the world, helping to better the lives of children and put them on the path to success.

He is the latest big name to sign with Probellum, joining an elite roster that includes Regis Prograis, Nonito Donaire, Badou Jack, Donnie Nietes, Eimantas Stanionis, Arthur Biyarslanov, Taras Shelestyuk, Ricky Burns, Paul Butler, Lewis Ritson, Hovhannes Bachkov, Darius Fulghum, Eduardo Hernandez, Mark Dickinson, Brandon Moore, Jack Bowen and Jason Mallia.

Probellum has also secured co-promotional agreements with Wasserman Boxing, Universum in Germany, Groupe Yvon Michel in Canada, Maravillabox Promotions in Spain, Kynoch Boxing in Scotland, Mitchell Sports Promotions in England, LNK Boxing in Latvia, Titov Boxing in Russia, Glozier Boxing in New Zealand, Cuadrilatero Boxing in Colombia, PR Best Boxing in Puerto Rico, BXSTRS Promotions in Mexico, Shuan Boxing Promotions in the Dominican Republic, Bufalo Boxing in Nicaragua, Team Ellis Boxing in Australia, Moron Boxing in Venezuela, Volcano Boxing in El Salvador, Armin Tan Promotions in Indonesia, and Box Office Sports in Ghana.

“I am proud to be representing Pakistan and teaming up with a huge company like Probellum,” said Waseem“They have already signed some of the best names in the sport, and to now be working alongside those great fighters is amazing.

“I am certain that they can help me accomplish my goal of becoming world champion, and it can lead to some massive nights of boxing and amazing opportunities both in Pakistan and beyond. Probellum have already made clear how they want to hold a world title fight in Pakistan next year, and having the chance to be involved in that would be superb, and be spectacular for the entire country.”

“We are truly honored to welcome a boxing superstar like Muhammad Waseem to Probellum,” said Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum“He is one of the biggest stars in all of Pakistan, and we are confident that his popularity can translate around the world.

“He has already proven himself to be one of the best 115lb fighters on the planet, and with Probellum now supporting him, we plan on helping him achieve his dream of becoming world champion, a feat which would be historic not just for Pakistan, but for Muslims around the world.”

Darren Cunningham Impressive in Comeback Fight Wins by Dominate Unanimous Decision

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 9, 2021) – Mission accomplished as Darren “The Gift” Cunningham (14-1, 7 KOS), won his comeback bout against Rob Diezel (14-9, 4 KOs), after suffering is first defeat as a professional back in August of this year. The 8-round co-main event bout took place at the Patapsco Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, this past Saturday November 6th, promoted by the Shabazz Brotherz.

In round one, Cunningham stunned Diezel with a powerful left hook, setting the tone for a dominate performance for the rest of the fight. Diezel was sent to the canvas at the later part of round two when Cunningham landed another devastating left hook to the head. Diezel was in survival mode for the rest of the fight and made it to the final bell. Scorecards read 80-71 across the board.

“After my first professional loss I had to refocus and go back to what made me a great fighter which is my boxing ability,” said Darren Cunningham eager after his win. “I knew if I stuck to using my boxing skills, I would catch him with a punch he didn’t see coming. After I landed that left hook, I knew he would be taking punishment for the rest of the fight. Boxing is a what have you done for me lately sport, and I knew that by taking a loss people would doubt me. I stuck to the basics and outboxed my opponent, and proved any doubters wrong, now it is time to get back to business.”

Darren Cunningham last fought for Joseph Ambo for the NABF junior super bantamweight title losing after a fight that had everyone on their feet. What many might not know is Cunningham is now being trained by Rafael Ramos.

“I got a new trainer in Rafael Ramos, and it greatly helped me for this camp,” explained Cunningham. “I feel as though the synergy between us works very well. My main goal moving forward is to stick to the game plan that Ramos and my team put in place, and that’s to use my feet, and box my way to victory. I am looking to make statements via demonstrations from this point forward.”

Ramos, who is from the Floyd Mayweather Sr. lineage of coaches seems to have been a perfect fit for Cunningham as he starts his road to redemption.

“I am already back in the gym, and I want the best available opponent as soon as possible,” stated Cunningham.

RJJ Boxing delivered big-time during COVID-19 pandemic

LAS VEGAS (November 9, 2021) – Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions has completed a remarkable run during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is looking forward to another productive return in hopefully more normal conditions during 2022.

RJJ Boxing delivered quality pro boxing shows, streaming 12 events live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, including nine from Mexico, not to mention seven pro iKON Fighting Federation mixed-martial-arts shows.

“RJJ Boxing has been extremely blessed throughout this pandemic,” RJJ Boxing President Lisa Veltre said. “Our team was fortunate to partner with Del O Promotions as well as World Cup Boxing Series. The RJJ team has expanded with incredible diligence for the sport, dedication to the boxers, and determination to stay relevant during the most difficult and challenging times the world has ever had to face. Me, Guy Taylor and Terry Hollan have been collaborating on our 2022 events, and I can promise that it’ll be explosive.”

After the pandemic effectively shut down boxing in the United States, seven months later RJJ Boxing came back strong on August 25, 2020, partnering with Dela O Promotions in San Carlos, Mexico, and the Las Vegas-based promotional company never looked back. RJJ Boxing also teamed with local promoters to produce shows in Los Mochis (Mexico), Mississippi (Biloxi), Texas (Humble) and California (Montebello).

Prior to the pandemic, RJJ Boxing was one of the most active boxing promoters in North America, producing events that consistently streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS from Toppenish (WA), Tucson (AZ), Reno and Las Vegas (NV), Alpine (CA), Pensacola and St. Petersburg (FL), San Antonio and Laredo (TX). RJJ Boxing also promoted shows in Russia and Japan during the past three years.

The challenges related to promoting boxing, particularly in Mexico, were pressing due to added expenses, language, and cultural differences, constantly changing COVID-19 restrictions, and somehow salvaging fights and shows when fighters tested positive at the weigh in or days leading up to the show.

RJJ Boxing helped develop Mexican fighters WBC Latino welterweight champion Santiago ”Somer” Dominguez (25-0, 19 KOs), WBCO Latino title-holder Alan “Cachorro” Solis (13-1-1, 7 KOs),WBC Youth Silver lightweight titlist Luis “Koreano” Torres (13-0, 9 KOs), lightweight Jorge Lugo Cota (5-0, 3 KOs), and WBO Latino Super Middleweight champion Lester Martinez (10-0, 9 KOs), of Guatemala.

Veteran Mexican boxers, super featherweight Jose Eduardo “El Sugar” Nunez (22-1, 22 KOs) and super middleweight Manuel “El Meno” Gallegos (19-1, 16 KOs) also gained invaluable exposure in the United States and around the world fighting on the UFC FIGHT PASS platform.

When the going got tough, RJJ Boxing got going, ranking among the most active mid-level promoters (those without the financial backing of DAZN, ESPN, Showtime, and FOX) in the US.

Tickets for the live event will be available for purchase on November 10, 2021 at www.amaliearena.com.

Before his NBA debut, Williams attended University of Illinois where he played college basketball and led them to the Final Four in 2005. He subsequently landed the third overall NBA draft pick from the Utah Jazz. Aside from his time in the NBA, Williams also earned gold medals for the U.S. national team in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games. In his boxing debut, fans can expect to see Williams’ all-around athleticism as he taps into his lifelong love for combat sports. As a child, Williams’ first sport was wrestling, which he competed in for eight years. During that time, he won two state titles. His passion for combat sports has remained an integral part of his training regime ever since.

“Combat sports have been a part of my life since my youngest days. Before I was a basketball player, I was a wrestler,” said Williams. “Since 2015, I have had the privilege of owning an MMA gym, and through that I have trained in various martial arts to stay active. Over the last year, I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to translate my training into a professional debut. I’m making that happen on December 18 against Frank, one of the physically strongest NFL players in history.”

A University of Miami alum, Gore was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2005 as a third-round draft pick and remained a key player of the team for 10 straight seasons. During his time as a Niner, the running back gained notoriety for his rare and impressive athletic ability. Gore received five Pro Bowl selections, earned the title of rushing yards leader and played in Super Bowl XLVII throughout his stint on the 49ers. Gore said goodbye to the Bay Area in 2014 and continued his NFL career playing for the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. Ranked third in all-time rushing yards and holding the NFL record for most games played as a running back, Gore’s boxing debut is a must see.

“I’m excited to be fighting on this card and can’t wait to show the world what I’ve been working on,” said Gore. “Boxing has me excited, and on December 18 expect fireworks!”

Hot New England prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella starting to make waves in welterweight division

BOSTON (November 9, 2021) – One of New England’s hottest and best pro boxing prospects, undefeated James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (8-0, 6 KOs), made a critical life decision a few years ago and as he continues to fine tune his vast skills in the ring November 20th, the Mansfield (MA) welterweight is starting to make waves.

The rapidly developing Perella will take on Floridian Andre Byrd (8-11-2, 1 KO) in Vertex Promotions’ “Fall Brawl” co-feature at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts. It will mark Perella’s first scheduled 8-round bout.

An outstanding USA Boxing amateur boxer, Perella’s amateur resume includes 4-time USA New England and 4-time New England Golden Gloves titles, but the now 29-year-old boxer seriously considered passing on a pro boxing career to become a lawyer.

“I was done with boxing,” Perella explained. “I felt like pursuing other things. The plan was to finish school, go to law school, and become a lawyer. Safety issues were the major issue. I was going into my adulthood and had questions about continuing fighting. An older guy at the gym told me that I wouldn’t want to have regrets in life and to go after what I really wanted. I didn’t want any what ifs. I had a few more amateur fights and decided to turn pro (March 16, 2019).”

How Perella got into boxing is another interesting story. A couple of his mates on the school bus messed with him as he played his Poke man game but, ironically, it was his mother who then said it was time for him to learn how to defend himself, not his father Jim, who is the longtime president of USA Boxing New England.

“My mother is from Southie (South Boston, a tough section of Boston),” Perella noted. “Kids fight to help find it (what it takes to box) in themselves. The first time in the gym, I got a bloody nose by one of the other kids the first time I was hit. I started crying and stopped fighting. My father took me in the bathroom to clean off the blood and he said it was okay. But I went right back into the ring, pinned that kid in the corner, and I was hooked on boxing after that. I was 8 years old.”

?Perella showed his professionalism in his last scheduled fight, back in late September, when his scheduled opponent from Mexico never got on the plane. Instead of whining and complaining, after training for a few months only to find out the day before the fight that it wasn’t happening, Perella handled the situation like a seasoned pro.

“I woke up and found out,” Perella remembered. “I knew I could go two ways: get upset and stomp my feet or be professional. There was always a chance we could find somebody (as an opponent). I couldn’t get upset, I’m a professional. I knew I still had show up at the weigh in and make weight.

“I love what I do. OK, I had to show up at the weigh in and knew I’d be fighting again, and I am November 20th. We’re rolling forward. I’ve come back from injuries and there’s always tomorrow. I’ve moved on.”

The 6-foot Perella takes advantage of his height and reach advantages, an anomaly for the welterweight division. He stood only 5’ 5” at 18 when he graduated from high school. The doctor kept saying he wasn’t done growing and that he’d be 6-feet tall. Six months later while in college, “The Slim Reaper” grew seven inches and he started boxing in the 141-weight class instead of 123, learning how to effectively and comfortably box at a distance after his growth spurt instead of from mid-range.

Perella did graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, majoring in criminal justice, but law’s loss has been boxing’s gain.

In the new main event, undefeated 23-year-old Albany (NY) lightweight RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (14-0, 11 KOs), the reigning ABF American West and NBA Continental champion, returns to his second home at Moseley’s On The Charles again to take on the stiffest test of his young pro career, Columbian lightweight Rudolfo “El Tsunam” Puentes (20-8-2, 16 KOs), in a non-title fight.

Undefeated Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (8-0, 8 KOs) goes for his 9th win with his 9th KO in a 6-round Special Super Welterweight Attraction versus an opponent to be determined. Hogan, of Weymouth, MA, is the reigning New Hampshire super welterweight champion, as well as a 2019 New England Golden Gloves gold medalist.

In three 6-rounders, New Bedford (MA) middleweight Drew “Tomahawk” Dwelly (3-0-2, 3 KOs) faces Ginno Montoya (0-6), Springfield (MA) super lightweight super lightweight Eric “Gladiator” Goff (4-0, 3 KOs) meets Carlos Galindo (0-9), and Ghanian super welterweight .

Also scheduled to fight on the undercard, each in 4-round matches, are Malden (MA) super featherweight Alex Rivera (1-0, 1 KO) vs. TBA, Dorchester (MA) featherweight Troy Anderson, Jr. (1-0, 1 KO), a 2016 Rocky Marciano Tournament champion, vs. Austin Reed Ward (0-9); Galway, Boston welterweight James Murrin (1-0) vs. TBA, and Kansas City (KS) super lightweight Marcus Davidson (1-0, 1 KO) vs. TBA.

PARKER VS. CHISORA 2 + UNDERCARD LAUNCH PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman:

“This is a huge night of boxing in Manchester on December 18 and the wonderful Manchester Arena. Of course, the main event everyone talks about, last time a real close-run fight between Joseph Parker and Derek Chisora, they do it all again – this time in front of fans.

“What a card we have for you to close out the year, live and exclusively on DAZN. We are having ten shows in the next seven weeks in six different countries, of course we’re here to talk about a tremendous card on December 18.

“Some of the undercard are in huge fights, career defining fights, and of course in the COVID world we live in today a lot of their opponents staying in their own country to prepare to fly over shortly for their challenge.

“We managed to get this fight on again, thanks to both guys for accepting the rematch for this fight. Last time out this was one fight I was so disappointed was behind closed doors. Derek Chisora is a guy who thrives on the big arenas and atmospheres, you’ve seen Joseph Parker box at Millennium Stadium in front of 70,000, against Dillian Whyte in front of 20,000 at The O2.

“We cannot wait to see the fans back in Manchester Arena for not just a great card but a really good Heavyweight fight.”

Joseph Parker – Auckland, New Zealand – 29-2, 21 KOs – defending his WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight Title against Derek Chisora:

“It’s great to be back here in the UK, Andy Lee the coach, the main man, and Johnny Ward and the rest of the team back in Morecombe. I’m excited because it’s the first rematch in my career, I’m excited to start seeing the improvements I’ve been making in camp when I’ve been away in New Zealand and the things that Andy and I have been working on.

“We didn’t have the longest camp last time but we’ve had a longer camp this time so there are no excuses. I did watch the fight back and I thought I won so I’m not sure, he thought he won too so that’s why we’re here again.

“Derek is one tough guy, he comes forward and puts on the pressure, like he said bite the gumshield and throw the kitchen sink, that’s exactly what he did and what he’s going to do for the next fight. I feel like this fight is going to different, I’ve had a lot more time to work on things that Andy has suggested I work on and now that I’m here with him in camp my confidence is growing every day seeing the improvements.

“I feel like this is the place to be you know, I have this fight with Derek in front of me and there are a lot more fights out there that can be made. We have to make these sacrifices as fighters, I know a lot of fighters that make sacrifices, I’m away from my wife and family, my parents, I feel like it’s my time to make it count.

“That’s my goal, to become two-time World Champion, I’m well positioned at the moment with the rankings but with COVID its hard lock in fights so thanks to everyone for getting this made and Chisora for accepting it again. It’s good to out three times this year and you’ve just got to take the opportunities when they come.

“I feel like I’ll finish this fight within the distance, I’ve got a good feeling.”

Andy Lee, trainer of Joseph Parker:

“We only had five weeks last time, it just wasn’t enough time to affect any change or embed any habits or instincts we were trying to work on. In saying that, Derek only had the same time with Buddy McGirt. This time Joseph has a greater understanding of what we’re trying to do, it’s as much about the mindset as it is about the technical side.

“It will be a good fight, I’ve seen a change in Joseph from the last fight and compared to the work we’ve done in between, he’s definitely focused. I think Joseph sees an opportunity for himself, the way the Heavyweight division is now, Joe fully believes when he gets past Chisora, he’s right there with any of them. I have no qualms with putting him in with anybody.

“He’ll never fight Tyson Fury because they’re as close to brothers, but anybody else in that division I’d be very comfortable with putting Joseph in with them. These young fighters here in front of me, I’m a big fan of all of them, I’m looking forward to the fight and for Joe to show exactly what he can do.

“Having David in the opposite corner brings a bit of trepidation to me, Dave was in my corner for 2/3 of the biggest fights of my career. I know what he brings, the knowledge he has, when you’re someone like Chisora small adjustments can make a big change.

“That’s probably what they’ll be looking to do. Chisora isn’t going to come out and box, jab and move, he’s going to come forward and bring the fight. Small adjustments will make a big change, so we have to be ready for that. That’s what we’re preparing to do, Joe’s working extremely hard and we’re well ahead of schedule, I’m very happy.”

Derek Chisora – Finchley, London – 32-11, 23 KO’s – challenging Joseph Parker for the WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight Title:

“Two fights behind closed doors, Usyk and Parker, Manchester again. I’m half excited and half not, I’m happy for the fight but I might be disappointed with what comes with the fight to be honest with you. I’m going to speak to my management team at 258 that we get an American referee and good judges for this fight because so many times I’ve been robbed, in Helsinki, the first one here with Dillian – it gets a bit frustrating.

“I’m happy the rematch is on, I’m excited and I’ve got David Coldwell now with me. Right now, I’m not buzzing yet, but I want to say this honestly to the press and to you Eddie, I need you to get a good referee, an American referee, not a BBBofC referee because those guys in the past have messed me around. If Robert Smith is listening, I do not want your referee to ref me for this fight.

“I know for a fact come 18 December; we are going to war. Joseph Parker doesn’t scare me; he hasn’t got anything that I’m scared of. He hasn’t power punches, I don’t know how they gave him the last fight to be honest with you, I’m just disappointed they gave it to him.

“I 100% won the first fight, I was the more pressure fighter, I was making the fight happen – all he wanted to do was hold. The whole Kronk style of holding and resting on you, that’s what they do – it’s good for them.

“The name of the game ladies and gentlemen is boxing, bite your gumshield and chuck the leather. There isn’t any point of trying to tip-toe boxing, it doesn’t work, bite the gumshield and chuck the kitchen sink – that’s the name of the game for me. We are coming to war, that’s why people love watching me, we’re coming to fight. I’ve never been in boxing my life; we’re coming to fight.

“I was saying this morning in the gym, boxing life is short, and you have to grab with both hands the ups and downs, the wins and losses, you have to enjoy it while you’re doing it. You don’t want to have any regrets when you hang up your gloves and say why didn’t I train harder for this fight.

“I love it, I enjoy training and waking up – on the M1 coming to Sheffield every Sunday. I love going back to my family, I love coming back seeing Dave and staying in a hotel. I love it and it’s the same as my opponent, he leaves his family and comes to Europe to train when he’s so far away from his wife and kids. This time we have is not long, so I always tell myself thank god for everything I have today waking up every morning, loving this game we have – boxing.”

Dave Coldwell, trainer of Derek Chisora:

“The thing about Derek is, he loves this sport and loves fighting. But what gets him going is real fights, he’s not one of these fighters that when he gets to a certain level, he just wants to cash out against mediocre opposition that he believes he’s going to beat easily. He wants to test himself, and if you look at his resume and the fighters he’s fought, that shows and what gets him going.

“The Joseph Parker fight is a fight that since the first one that’s all he’s spoke about. The first one was a very good fight, it was close, regardless of who you thought won it makes no difference, Joseph Parker won the fight. Derek’s going in there to reverse the result and put on a performance.

“He’s [Chisora] working so hard, not just hard but smart. He’s a real pleasure to coach, people think he must be so hard to work with, he’s not, this time around he’s working with the younger guys in the gym – he’s a great inspiration to them. The difference with Derek this time around is he trains, he foes his work, then he stays behind and watch the sparring with the other guys.

“He’s almost enjoying being around the environment a little bit more, he seems happier and like I said the work is brilliant. I can’t knock what he’s doing right now and we’re still weeks away from the fight. I’m quite excited to see Derek put it together on fight night, we understand it’s going to be a hard fight.

“I’ve got all the respect in the world for Andy Lee, he’s such an intelligent man, he knows everything about this sport. All his fighters are dangerous, good fighters, and I expect because he’s had more time with Parker this time around I expect a better version of him, but I expect a better version of Derek, this is going to be a great fight.”

Lerrone Richards – New Malden, England – 15-0, 3 KOs – challenging Carlos Gongora for the IBO Super-Middleweight World Title:

“I’m very excited for this fight, I can’t wait to showcase my skills and show everybody what I’m about once again. I’m very confident about this fight, you’re going to see more of Lerrone Richards with a little bit more spice, I can’t wait.

“I was very adamant from when I started my professional career to box at every level, winning the British, Commonwealth, European Title and this is the next step. I can’t wait, I’m at this level, I believe my skills are beyond this level, it’s time for me to showcase this on December 18.”

Jack Cullen – Little Lever, England – 20-2-1, 9 KOs – challenging Emre Cukur for the vacant European Super-Middleweight Title:

“A European Title is every boxer’s dream; I’m going to go in there and get the job done. Little Lever, there was only 25 at fight camp, wait until there’s 1000 of them at Manchester Arena. It’s going to be amazing and I’m looking forward to, thanks for putting me on this card, it’s a brilliant card.

“We had a game plan from day one when we found out we were fighting Yildirim – it worked. It’s all down to Michael and Dave my coaches, at the end of the day we’ll go again. We’ve watched this guy; we’ll get a game plan, and we’ll get him beat.

“I think it’s going to be an easy fight, but we’ll see. Like you said, I’ve never been in an easy fight, I’m going to stick it on him anyway he’s having it the lad.”

Zelfa Barrett – Manchester, England – 26-1, 16 KOs – fighting Bruno Tarimo in an Eliminator for the IBF Super-Featherweight World Title:

“This is the kind of fight I need in Manchester; I’ve not boxed in front of a crowd in two years so I’m excited to just fight. I’ll put on a performance, Bruno is no pushover, he’s there to take me out, he’s rugged, he will give it. He’s made for me, you know he’s not going to stand there and box, he’s going to come to fight and give it his all, I’m ready for that.

“This is what’s in my mind constantly, it’s on my doorstep, put on a great performance. Stevenson is awesome, you’ve got to give credit where it’s due, but the rest of the champions aren’t the strongest. These guys are beatable, I’m in my range to beat these guys so I just need to put on a performance, get the win. My focus is on Bruno December 18, I’m going to win and be looking good as well.”

David Nyika – Hamilton, New Zealand – 1-0, 1 KO – fighting in a four-round Cruiserweight contest:

“I feel very privileged to be here, I’m in the heart of professional boxing here so this is a massive opportunity for me. I’m looking to put myself on notice in the Cruiserweight division.

“I think there’s a lot more to professional boxing than I initially thought, I feel like I’m rebuilding Rome starting to work with Andy Lee. I’m in great company with the likes of Joseph Parker, the Fury’s are in camp, I’m a sponge right now and this is a great opportunity for me to grow, learn and develop as a boxer – also as a person.”

Jordan Thompson – Manchester, England – 11-0, 9 KOs – fighting in a six-round Cruiserweight contest:

“It’s a pleasure to be able to get out and stay active, keep the momentum going. It was good to get the win in the style I did, making a little bit of an announcement on the scene, it felt like my debut again it’s been that long. I’m keen to keep going, keep the momentum going and put on a show in front of my home fans. Back in Manchester, my hometown, I’m looking forward to it.

“At the end of the day, I will always be going for the knockout. I let my hands go with bad intentions, but there’s going to come a day where I need to get rounds in, I’m going to need to learn – I’m still learning on the job. I do need to get those rounds in but I’m sure they’ll come; timing is everything. We’ll go out there and aim to get another knockout December 18.”

Sandy Ryan – Derby, England – 2-0, 1 KO – fighting in an eight-round Super-Lightweight contest:

“I’m looking forward to it, to be on a great card, a big card like this. Let’s go and put on another big performance.

“I know what level I’m at and I think I’ve showed in my first two fight. I boxed different in my first two fights and there’s more to come next year, get me some title fights Eddie.

“I’ll be going into every fight meaning business. Hurtful business.”

Rhiannon Dixon – Wigan, England – 3-0 – fighting in a four-round Lightweight contest:

“I can’t wait, it was unfortunate what happened last time but it’s great to be on such amazing card. It’s the return back at the Manchester Arena and I’m just excited to show people what I can do.

“Women’s boxing is just getting bigger and bigger and the more that people like myself and Sandy are on these shows and putting on amazing performances, we’re changing people’s opinions of women’s boxing. I’m just excited to where things are going and showing people what I can do on December 18.”

Super Lightweight Contenders Rock Myrthil and Ladarius Miller Clash in Showdown Highlighting Non-Televised Undercard This Saturday, November 13 in a Premier Boxing Champions Event from Footprint Center in Phoenix

PHOENIX (November 8, 2021) – Mayweather Promotions stablemates square off as undefeated “Prince” Rock Myrthil and contender Ladarius “Memphis” Miller meet in an eight-round super lightweight battle topping the non-televised undercard lineup on Saturday, November 13 at Footprint Center in Phoenix in a Premier Boxing Champions event.

The card is headlined by unbeaten, two-time Super Middleweight World Champion David “El Bandera Roja” Benavídez against top contender Kyrone “Shut It Down” Davis, live on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING in a telecast that begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Tickets for the live event are on sale now and are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.com.

Fighting out of Los Angeles, California, the 29-year-old Myrthil (17-0, 13 KOs) discovered boxing at age 18, after his family relocated from Haiti to the United States. Following a stellar amateur career, Myrthil made his pro debut in January 2017 with a second-round TKO over Allan Varela in Tijuana, Mexico. In September 2019, he won an eight-round unanimous decision over Jonathan Steele in Las Vegas. The performance caught the eye of Floyd Mayweather, who sat ringside for that bout and ultimately signed Myrthil to his Mayweather Promotions outfit. Most recently, Myrthil outpointed Johnny Rodriguez over eight rounds in February 2020.

Originally from Memphis, Miller (21-2, 6 KOs) now resides in Las Vegas and also fights out of the Mayweather Promotions stable. The 28-year-old veteran’s list of accomplishments includes wins over former champions Jamel Herring and Jezreel Corrales. Miller will look to get back on track after his 12-fight win streak was snapped in his most recent bout, a points loss to unbeaten contender Michel Rivera in October 2020.

Non-televised undercard action will also feature undefeated, 18-year-old prospect Elijah Garcia (8-0, 7 KOs) taking on Todd Manuel (20-18-1, 6 KOs) in six-rounds of super welterweight action, Guadalajara, Mexico’s Jonathan Fierro (11-0, 10 KOs) in an eight-round super featherweight bout, Arizona native Jesus Ibarra (11-0, 5 KOs) facing Hector Suarez (12-13-2, 6 KOs) in a six-round super lightweight clash, former amateur standout Micky Scala (2-0, 1 KO) versus Martez Jackson (5-5-3, 2 KOs) in a four-round super welterweight match, Congo’s Farid Ngoga (4-0, 4 KOs) taking on Isaac Freeman (3-9-2, 3 KOs) in a four-round super welterweight duel, and Phoenix resident Keenan Carbajal (22-2-1, 14 KOs) in an eight-round featherweight fight.

In August, Serrano joined the SHOWTIME PPV Paul vs. Woodley card as the co-main event and earned a unanimous decision over Yamileth Mercado to retain her WBC and WBO featherweight title belts.

Serrano will join Paul today, November 8, in Tampa Bay, at a press conference in the Budweiser Biergarten at AMALIE Arena beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

Titled #PaulFury: One Will Fall, the event is produced and presented by Most Valuable Promotions and SHOWTIME PPV and promoted in association with Tony and Bryce Holden of Holden Productions. The pay-per-view telecast begins live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, is produced and distributed by SHOWTIME PPV, and will feature other exciting, high-stakes professional boxing matches which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the live event will be available for purchase on Wednesday, November 10 at www.amaliearena.com

Puerto-Rican born and Brooklyn, New York raised, Serrano has become one of the most decorated fighters in women’s boxing history. Having recently signed with Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions, Serrano continues to make waves in her professional boxing career. The 33-year-old has won titles in every division between 115 and 140 pounds, earning belts in those two divisions just four months apart with fights in September 2018 and January 2019. Serrano also won the WBO featherweight world championship belt in a high-profile showdown against Heather Hardy in 2019 and recently became WBC champion with a knockout win over three-division world champion Daniela Bermudez. As an all-around athlete and dedicated fighter, Serrano also holds a professional MMA record of 2-0-1 with both wins coming by way of submission.

“I’ve been training 24/7 for as long as I can remember and because of my dedication to the sport, I consistently look to challenge myself,” said Serrano. “Miriam is an extremely tough opponent, with her only loss coming to one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. I am looking forward to stepping in the ring with her and proving why I’m at the top of women’s boxing.”

Born in Torrejon de Ardoz, Spain, Gutiérrez started kickboxing and boxing at a young age.  Following a year and a half of recovery from a horrific domestic violence incident at age 19, she began training with Jero Garcia and had her first amateur bout in 2009. Gutiérrez made her professional debut in 2017, winning by unanimous decision over Vanessa Caballero. Her 13th professional match against Keren Batiz resulted in an impressive win and the WBA title of Interim Lightweight Champion. She then met Katie Taylor on November 20, 2020 in a Lightweight unification bout where she suffered her first professional defeat in a competitive 10-round decision. Gutiérrez is a passionate advocate against domestic violence and in 2019 was elected to the City Council of Torrejon de Ardoz, where she works to champion the rights of women.

“Amanda Serrano is an icon in the sport and when I step into that ring on December 18, it will be a pivotal moment in my career. I respect what she does, but it’s a risk coming up to 135. I’ve been competing at this level for most of my career and the competition is tough,” said Gutiérrez. “I’m thankful to my team, my family and my promoter Ray Events Boxing for their support as I train for a night of pure boxing entertainment. I look forward to bringing a great victory back to Spain.”

#PaulFury: One Will Fall is the second live sporting event co-produced by Most Valuable Promotions, a company founded by Paul and Bidarian on the premise that content is king, and fighters are the content creators in combat sports. BOSTON (November 8, 2021) – Irish light heavyweight prospect Tommy “The Kid” O’Toole, managed by Ryan Roach’s Fighter Locker, has been added to Matchroom Boxing’s explosive November 19th card, featuring four World title fights, streaming live on DAZN from SHNU Arena (former Verizon Center) in Manchester New Hampshire.

The 23-year-old O’Toole (1-0, 1 KO), fighting out of Galway, Ireland, is so excited to fight on this high-profile event, headlined by his countryman Jason Quigley’s (19-1, 14 KOs), of Ballybofey, challenging undefeated WBO Middleweight World Champion Demetrious “Boo Boo” Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs), that he will be missing his graduation from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology scheduled the same day as his fight.

“This fight means the world for me,” O’Toole said. “Matchroom is the biggest and best platform in boxing. I can’t wait to showcase my skills. I’ve never met Jason, but he did comment on my performance in the Irish Elite Championships, so I’m pretty sure he knows me. We’re going to take over the 19th with all the Irish boxing fans from Boston and New England there supporting us.”

O’Toole won his pro debut this past September 25th in the Boston suburb of Dedham, in which he knocked down Francisco Ariri Neto three times for a spectacular first-round knockout. On Nov. 19, O’Toole is matched against Texan Mark Malone (1-0) in a 4-round bout.

In addition to Andrade vs. Quigley, the other three World title fights are as follows: WBA/IBF World Super Bantamweight champion Marodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev (9-0, 7 KOs) vs. Ronny Rios (33-3, 16 KOs), Julio Cesar “El Rey” Martinez (18-1, 14 KOs) vs, McWilliams Arroyo (21-4, 16 KOs) for the vacant WBC Featherweight World championship, and WBA/IBO titlist Kali “KO Mequinonoag” Reis (18-7-1, 5 KOs) vs. Jessica Camara (8-2), 0 KOs), also for the vacant WBC strap.

O’Toole is part of Fighter Locker’s growing stable of gifted boxers that includes super flyweight Rocco “So Cal Kid” Santomauro (21-1, 6 KOs), NBA Continental junior welterweight & ABF American West super lightweight champion Ray Jay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (14-0, 11 KOs), ABF USA super welterweight Jimmy “Quiet Storm” Williams (18-6-2, 6 KOs), ABF American West super middleweight champion “The Amazing” Shawn McCalman (9-0, 5 KOs), super bantamweight Daniel “G.D.F.E.” Bailey, Jr. (8-0, 4 KOs), 2-time Dominican Republic Olympian, lightweight Leonel de los Santos (4-0, 4 KOs), Boston featherweight Troy Anderson, Jr. (2-0, 2 KO), super lightweights Eric “Gladiator” Goff (4-0, 3 KOs), Marcus Davidson (1-0, 1 KO), Orlando Perez Zapata (9-0, 6 KOs), and Miranda “La Alacrana” Reyes (4-0, 2 KOs), super welterweight Juan Solano (1-0, 1 KO), 2-time Colombian Olympian and 2016 Olympic silver medalist Yuberjen Martinez, Colombian light heavyweight Olympian Jorge Vivas, light heavyweight Robert Daniels, Jr. (5-0, 5 KOs), cruiserweight Roki “Rocky” Berroa (1-0), Utah brothers, ABF American West lightweight champion Ignacio Chairez (8-1-1, 5 KOs) and lightweight Gabriel Chairez (4-0-1, 2 KOs).

“Western Mass. 6” prospects to be showcased on “Championship Road” pro card

QUINCY, Mass. (November 8, 2021) – Western Massachusetts has become a fertile talent pool for boxing prospects and a sextet of gifted, young fighters from there will be showcased Saturday night, November 13, on Granite Chin Promotions’ “Championship Road” card, streaming live on bxngtv.com from The Rim in Hampton, New Hampshire.

Undefeated “Western Mass. 6” prospects fighting on this Nov. 13th card are Holyoke welterweight Denzel “Double Impact” Whitley (6-0, 5 KOs) and super welterweight Carlos Castillo (3-0, 3 KOs), Pittsfield’s Sumpter brothers Steve (2-0, 2 KOs), a super middleweight, and heavyweight Quinton (1-0, 1 1 KO), and Springfield’s light heavyweight Laurent Humes (2-0, 2 KOs) and middleweight Jamer Jones (1-0, 1 KO). Whitley and Steve are in 6-round bouts, the other four in 4-rounders.

Granite Chin promoter Chris Traietti, who has been associated with the fightin’ Whitley family for 15 years, was trained for years by Derrick and Darren. Today he is promoting Derrick’s son, Denzel, who Traietti has known since Denzel was a kid.

“I started training with Derrick and Darrin out in Holyoke when I was in college in Westfield and his gym was saturated with talent,” Traietti commented. “It just seemed like there weren’t any promoters out there to give the talent a platform and a road to a successful professional career. I am hoping to change that. Working with Denzel was really an easy fit. I have maintained a tight relationship with the Whitley family for over 15 years. I remember Denzel when he was a little kid bouncing all over Derrick’s car while we were driving to amateur shows. Derrick has been one of the loyal friends I have and the least I can do for all he has done for me is guide his son’s career and bring him to the highest level possible. But it isn’t just Denzel, but it started with him. Once I started working with Denzel, Carlos, Jamer, Steve, Quintin, and Laurent came into the frame from various angles. All of them are talented guys and it has been a lot of fun working with each one of them. I am glad their respective trainers have trusted me to further their careers and that is exactly what I will do.”

Denzel and Castillo train at Whitley Brothers Boxing and Fitness in Holyoke, where they are guided by former pro fighters, twin brothers Derrick and Darren Whitley.

“There’s always been a lot of talent here,” Derrick spoke about Western Mass. Boxing. “These young guys today are a special group. Chris (Traietti) has helped a lot of local fighters by giving them opportunities on shows so that they can showcase their talents. I worked with Chris, and he’s watched my sons (Denzel and Derrick Jr.) grow up. Me and my brother learned in the ring, we weren’t properly trained. We came from martial arts and then got into amateur boxing. We only had about 15 amateur fights We trained our guys in the amateurs and then were able to teach them to box as professionals. It’s fun training my sons. At first, though, they thought we were bullying them, but we’ve taught them how go in and out, slip and move, counter punch, etc., Now, we have a map to teach them, but boxing is 90-percent mental, and it’s not easy to do, or for everybody.

“Carlos is a boxer-puncher. He and Denzel fought together in the amateurs together and now he’s family. They’re good friends and he married Denzel’s cousin.

Denzel meets John Ferrara (0-1), of Tiverton (RI) in the 6-round, co-featured event. Unlike his trainers and former pro fighters, father Derrick and Uncle Darren, Denzel is becoming much more of an all-round boxer with pop than his brawling relatives.

“We’ve always had talented fighters here,” the 26-year-old Whitley noted, “but now we’re getting much more exposure fighting on this (Granite Chin) platform. I’m trying to grow as a fighter to reach the top 10 and hopefully become world champion but if that doesn’t happen, I want to be the best I can be in this sport.”

“I don’t know much about my opponent because he’s only had one fight. Coming from my background and what my family has done in this sport, my last name is a target for opponents, and it would be a good win for him. It may take a few rounds, but I’ll adjust to him in the ring and do my job.”

Ferrara plans to slowdown Whitley’s rapid ascension. “Coming off a close loss last year,” Ferrera said, “I wanted to fight someone who had a winning record instead of taking the easy route. Chris Traietti offered me good money to fight one of his top prospects (Denzel Whitley), who realty hasn’t been truly tested as a professional. After talking it over with my new trainer, Libby Medeiros, known for working with ’Sucra’ Ray Oliveira, Scott Pemberton, and Jason Pires to name a few, he gave me his consent to take the fight. He came up with able print for our team to execute and walk out with a big upset win. I am looking forward to putting pressure on this young man to the test. Pressure makes diamonds or burst pipes. November 13th we will find out if the hype is real for Denzel.”

Castillo (3-0, 3 KOs) faces Swansea’s (MA) Anthony Andreozzi (0-1). “We have a lot of talent coming out of Western Mass.,” Castillo remarked, “especially now with amateurs turning pro and having opportunities to fight, I think it’s because the fighters’ dedication here is awesome along with good conditioning and amateur experiences. I’d never heard of him (Andreozzi) because he has had only one pro fight and no amateur experience that I know about. If he wants to brawl – it’s not my style – but I’ll be ready for whatever he brings into the ring. I’m more of a boxer, but I can brawl if necessary.”

Andreozzi isn’t going to Hampton just to collect a paycheck. “Castillo is a very talented boxer, Andreozzi commented, “which is a big reason I took the fight. My time in the boxing world has been brief, so I don’t have the body of work to offer a reputation. I’m looking to use my unorthodox and explosive style to prove my worth to those who may doubt me. Moving up a weight class has been a great move for my power and stamina. November 13th, I’m coming in thicker and slicker looking to neutralize as many of his strengths as I am while taking advantage of mine. My goals are different than many others. I’m not in it for the money, fame, glory, or status. I simply want a war leaving the both of us leaking blood, because that’s my happy place in this world.”

Steve Sumpter (2-0, 2 KOs) and 2020 New England Novice Golden Gloves Heavyweight Champion Quinton Sumpter (1-0, 1 KO), respectively, take on Juan Celin Zapata (6-19-2, 4 KOs) and Woburn’s Wewerson Silveira Silva (0-2).

“Absolutely because of our hunger,” Steve remarked about the quality of Western Mass. Fighters. “They haven’t received publicity in Western Mass., so, they’ve been overlooked. Not many top guys have come out of here. We want it! I’m going to keep getting better as a I go. I’ve only seen a little of my opponent, but I’m going to take him out. This fight won’t go past three (rounds).”

“The quality has always been good here,” Quinton added. “though fighters from here haven’t gotten the recognition they deserve, honestly. Granite Chin has good shows and really promotes its fighters and give us opportunities. You have to give credit to the trainers in gym here, too.

“I really don[t know anything about my opponent other than I’ll be his third (pro) fight. It really doesn’t matter. I’m confident and will get in there to fight or spar with anybody. I’m having trouble getting good sparring because there aren’t a lot of super heavyweights here. (N.E. heavyweight champion) Mike Marshall has given me good work from time to time, but our schedules are different.”

Humes (2-0, 2 KOs) throws-down with Woburn’s pro-debuting Thailisson Nunes, while Jones (1-0, 1 KO) is matched against Caleb Denham (0-2).

“I definitely believe out here has become more of a power base because of the growing number of good fighters,” Humes mentioned. “A few I started out with in the amateurs have started their pro careers and are doing well. We’re all undefeated. I think it’s because it’s hard growing up here, poverty-wise, and that’s made us hungry and has pushed our drive. I’m getting better each fight and that’s a bigger problem for my opponents.”

“Absolutely,” Jones agreed that Western Mass. is producing solid prospects. “There’s a lot of talent in Western Massachusetts. I didn’t have as much amateur experience, but I’m able to work with guys who had 40-50 amateur fights, and some pro boxers as well. We push each other to do our best.”

New England welterweight champion Mike “Bad Boy” Ohan (13-1, 7 KOs), fighting out of Holbrook (MA), will be in his first scheduled 10-round bout against Mexican super lightweight Israel “Filipino Tigre” Rojas (14-24, 5 KOs) in their non-title fight, main event.

Guyana-native heavyweight Nkosi Soloman (3-1, 2 KOs), fighting out of Brooklyn, is slated to fight pro-debuting Wewerson Silveira Silva in a 6-round fight.

Also fighting on the undercard, each scheduled for 4 rounds, is Woburn (MA) middleweight Julien “Black Dragon” Baptiste (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Providence’s pro-debuting Alfred “Keenan” Raymond, Chicago’s pro-debuting middleweight Devin Wright vs. Providence’s Robert “Golden Boy” Nolette (0-1), Lawrence (MA) lightweight “El Gallo” Kevin Rodriguez (2-1, 1 KO) vs. Daron Jenkins (0-5), and Providence (RI) welterweight Damon Towns (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Chicago’s Calvin Glover (0-2).

Card subject to change.

Tickets priced at $60.00 (ringside) and $40.00 (general admission, in addition to ringside tables of four for $260.00, are available to purchase at www.TicketRiver.com (Search: Championship Road).

COVENTRY ACE WILSON-BENT AIMING FOR BIG BOXING-FOOTBALL DOUBLE FOR THE CITY

Coventry, UK (8 November 2021) Coventry sensation River Wilson-Bent wants to complete the first part of a dream double and parade the English title on the pitch at Coventry City and he got a taste of it last Saturday when he made a half-time pitch appearance during the Bristol City game.

The all action and hard-hitting middleweight faces Tyler Denny for the vacant belt in front of a packed Skydome crowd, live and free on Channel 5 as part of Hennessy’s All-Stars Show on Saturday, November 13.

Wilson-Bent is a huge Coventry City fan and with the side riding high in the Championship and the club back in their own stadium after two spells in exile, he wants to bring boxing and football together, on the back of what will be his first national title.

He was invited to attend the Coventry-Bristol game as a guest of the club to show their support ahead of his English title challenge and watched them win 3-2 on the day. River has also been offered the chance to return and show off his belt – providing he overcomes his tough Midlands rival.

Wilson-Bent said: “This is definitely a 50-50 fight. We were both good amateurs and now we’ve both turned pro, Tyler has a bit more experience than me, but that’s it. I am 100% the better fighter.

“It won’t be easy but when I win the plan will be to get out on the centre of the pitch with that English title, in front of all those Cov fans. That would be thriving. It’s just brilliant exposure.

“There are no two sports that are as close to each other than boxing and football and their supporters, so it would be great to get all the Cov fans behind me. There is no reason I can’t get the whole city behind me.”

The second part of Wilson Bent’s double would bring even more coverage to Coventry, with the Sky Blues literally playing centre stage.

The hard-hitting 27-year-old knows winning the English belt should lead to a crack at the coveted British title, currently held by the unbeaten Felix Cash (14-0, 10 KO’s).

As a teenager he also spent a couple of years working at Coventry City as a chef, before realising it was too hot, so had to get out of the kitchen to focus on his boxing.

But now, with the football club sitting in a play-off position, winning promotion back into the Premier League for the first time since 2001, would make the Coventry Building Society Arena (CBS) the perfect platform to go to work again and cook up a treat for the whole city.

He added: “Imagine fighting at the CSB? I would love that. Imagine packing that out? We’re seeing more and more stadium fights, but at the ground you go to to watch your team play?

“My daughter will always be the number one highlight of my life but boxing there, in front of all those Cov fans, wouldn’t be far behind. I’ve talked before about carrying the British title out there, but to fight out there would be amazing.

“Cov can do their part and go up, of course. But if I can add to that and even just win the British title, it would bring even more communities together. It really would put the whole city on the map.”

Shakan Pitters v Reece Cartwright for the Vacant WBC International Light-Heavyweight Championship headlines the triple-title card that includes a fiery midlands derby between Coventry hot-shot River Wilson-Bent against Rowley Regis rival Tyler Denny for the Vacant English Middleweight Championship. Red hot Irish middleweight sensation Aaron ‘The Silencer’ McKenna will challenge for his first championship title. Aaron’s joins older brother Stevie ‘The Hitman’ McKenna who is lighting up the welterweight division with his dynamic and KO performances and faces Ghanaian hitter Richard Djarbeng over eight rounds. The rest of the Hennessy All Stars team will be out in full force starting with welterweight ace Kaisee Benjamin against Germany Andreas Maier over eight rounds; Birmingham super-middleweight Idris Virgo takes on France’s Gregory Trenel in an eight rounder; Sevenoaks highly talented super-welterweight Michael Hennessy Jr.; undefeated County Donegal middleweight starlet Brett McGinty; unbeaten Brighton heavyweight destroyer Tommy Welch meets Bulgarian Kristian Kirilov over four rounds. Lastly two new additions to the card, Leamington Spa lightweight Danny Quartermaine and Chelmsley Wood lightweight Scott Melvin, both in separate four round contests.

Presented by Hennessy Sports in association with William Hill, Infinitum, Numan and Everlast, tickets are priced at £45, £55, £90 and £120 and are available from https://iceaccount.co.uk/wbc-championship-boxing-info

‘The Destroyer’ (19-0, 12 KOs) maintained his perfect record with a shutout points win over Mexico’s Adrian Granados on the Lara vs. Warrington 2 bill in September after he was given a deafening welcome by over 20,000 Leeds fans, and the Essex native is looking to end a huge year in style as he pushes towards more titles.

CRUZ DEFENDS WORLD CROWN AGAINST ESQUIVEL IN MEXICO

Erika Cruz Hernandez will defend her WBA World Featherweight title against Melissa Esquivel at the International Convention Center in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Friday November 26, live worldwide on DAZN, the latest in the run of Matchroom and DAZN’s new series of fight nights in Mexico with Canelo Promotions and Clase y Talento.

Cruz (13-1 3 KOs) ripped the title from long-time champion Jelena Mrdienovich in April, with the Mexican ending the five-year rule of the Canadian on the cards after an accidental headclash halted the contest after seven rounds.

‘Dinimita’s’ first defense is her first fight under new promoter Eddie Hearn and is the first step on the 31 year old’s path to landing unification fights at 126lbs, with belt holders Amanda Serrano and Sarah Mahfoud on her radar should she deal with her compatriot on November 26.

“I’m really excited to defend my world title on my Matchroom debut in my home country,” said Cruz. “I want to put on a great performance and show the world I am the number one woman in the Featherweight division.”

Esquivel tastes World title action for the first time in her career and enters the biggest night of her career on the back of three wins, including her first over the ten round distance in April – and promises to pour everything she has into making Cruz’s title reign a short one.

“I am ready for this fight against Erika,” said Esquivel. “I have been training very hard, we set cam in Mexico City and now we are finalizing our training here in Sinaloa. We have been training for quite some time I am ready, well prepared for what is to come.

“Erika is a very strong fighter we know each other from the amateurs, I have a lot of respect for her and all she has accomplished, one thing I know for sure is that we are going to put on a great fight for the fans, I hope to be victorious that night, I have a lot to win. This is a great opportunity for my professional career. Come September 26, I will leave everything in the ring.”

Chief support on the night comes from Angel Fierro (18-1 14 KOs) as he too fights for the first time under new promoter Hearn, taking on Cristian Bielma (18-3-1 7 KOs) for the WBO NABO Lightweight title, with unbeaten Joselito Velazquez (13-0-1 9 KOs) and Gabriel Valenzuela (24-2-1 14 KOs) also in action, with more undercard fighters to be announced soon.

“What a packed weekend of action we’re going to have live on DAZN!” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Women’s boxing is on fire right now and World title fights rarely disappoint – and I think Erika and Melissa are going to serve up fireworks. Erika is a real talent and will want to show that in the first defense of her title, but Melissa is in her first title fight and has everything to gain in Puerto Vallarta.

“Angel Fierro is a fighter to watch at Lightweight and there’s a lot of gifted fighters on what promises to be an exciting bill in Mexico, the day before Teofimo Lopez defends his World titles in New York, it’s another unmissable weekend of action on DAZN.”

An announcement on tickets will be made soon.

HANEY VS. DIAZ, JR. PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 5, 2021) – Devin “The Dream” Haney (26-0 15 KOs), WBC Lightweight World Champion, and Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr. (32-1-1, 15 KOs), WBC Interim Lightweight World Champion and mandatory challenger, hosted a press conference today to launch their highly anticipated match on December 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, live worldwide on DAZN.

Below is what the fighters and their representatives had to say:

DEVIN HANEY, WBC LIGHTWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION

“I’ve been preparing for this fight for a while now, I’m so thankful that the fight finally came, and I just can’t wait to show JoJo Diaz that he can be a dog, but at the end of the day skills pay the bills. If that’s his only approach that he’s going to dog me, come on I’ve been seeing that my whole career, if that’s his Plan A and I’m going to let him dog me, it’s going to be a long night.”

“At the end of the day, I don’t think it’s any real doubt with these guys with me, none of them are in a rush to fight me. JoJo Diaz wasn’t in a rush to fight me, I feel like we had to corner him to make him take the fight, all these other guys it’s the same thing. They know my skills set, how much I bring to the table, if JoJo didn’t take this fight the world would have known what it really was. Come December 4, they’re going to see.”

“I can’t overlook JoJo Diaz, I know he’s going to come to fight, he’s telling us that he’s coming in there to try and dog me out. I don’t want to make it through this press conference without telling him thank you for taking this fight, thank you for stepping up because most of these guys wouldn’t.”

“I just can’t wait. This is going to be a great fight, JoJo Diaz is a dog, he’s proven that, and I do feel like he is in the prime of his career. It won’t take anything away from my victory when I win.”

“I’ve been seeing guys come at me and try to do everything they can to win for ever now. I’ve always been a slick boxer and had skills, I’ve seen it over and over, time and time again. I do feel like his style will be tailor made for me, there’s nothing that he can do to win. He can’t outbox me, I’ll show him he can’t out bang me, I have the size advantage, all the tools to win.”

JOSEPH “JOJO” DIAZ, JR., WBC INTERIM LIGHTWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION

“This is going to be a tremendous night and an action-packed fight, I know Devin Haney is a really skilled elusive fighter, but I’m a dog. I’m the type of person that has already been in there and dealt with that experience and adversity. I know what it is to kill or be killed.”

“I’m just going to go out there and do what I’ve got to do to become victorious, not matter what it takes. If he wants to try and box, I’m just going to hunt his ass down. If he wants to come and bang, I’m just going to bang it out as well. Whatever he wants to bring to the table I’m going to bring it.”

“I feel like I’m at my prime, I feel like I’ve already took all the steps I needed to take to be at this point in my life and my career. As far as taking fights with Jesús Rojas, Tevin Farmer, Gary Russell Jr., Javier Fortuna, I’ve already fought those top tier contenders.”

“I feel like Devin Haney is a young fighter, a hungry fighter, he has a lot of experience and ego to go out and put on tough challenges. I feel like he doesn’t have the experience I have, and I feel that’s going to be the key factor to my victory come December 4.”

“When I say out dog, it’s not just throwing punches and stuff like that, I’ve got all the skills and resume in the back of my mind and career. I’m a 2021 Olympian, I’ve fought all these tough fighters already, I’m not just going to throw punches to throw them. I’m going to break his ass down.”

“I know that Devin is a very skilled fighter and it’s going to be tough fight, he’s going to bring out the best in me and I’m going to bring out the best in him. At the end of the day, I know what I’m about and that there’s a lot at stake for me. I’ve been through everything already, all the trials and tribulations in my life and career, but now I’ve got my son and my family that brings me that extra motivation to go out there and risk it all in that ring.”

BILL HANEY, FATHER AND TRAINER OF DEVIN HANEY:

“I believe that this fight, not only for Devin, is the right fight, but it’s the right next fight for JoJo. Me and JoJo got the chance to talk and he’s a man of his word, things got a bit shaky, and we got a bit worried but all in all, the fight is happening.”

“I think we have to have to count Devin for all that experience he did get in that fight against Jorge Linares, a tremendous fighter. Come December 4th, we have JoJo Diaz, just another step in the legacy of one of the best fighters in the world – Devin Haney.”

“Ironically Devin is the champion, but in this situation he’s the one who is hunting, he’s been hunting for JoJo Diaz. We were under the assumption that when Diaz fought against Javier Fortuna that he was going to be Devin’s mandatory, so we’ve been preparing for him. We’re not underprepared by any means, four weeks we’ve been preparing since he’s become the mandatory.”

“We’re ready for JoJo Diaz and we hope that he’s ready as well. Devin is going to come; you saw in round one he was ready for Jorge Linares. We expect JoJo to come round one because Devin is going to be there from round one to round 12. I think he’s going to stop JoJo and put on one hell of a performance.”

ROBERT DIAZ, VICE PRESIDENT AND HEAD MATCHMAKER, GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS:

“This just shows, this is proof right here, that when the fighters want to fight and it’s not just talk, fights can get done. Promotors are willing to work together, fights can get done.”

“For JoJo Diaz this is not anything new, you guys know how he’s come up, his whole career has been tough. His whole he’s been raising his hand and saying I will fight anybody. Here’s proof, we’re here today to announce this great fight, but it takes two.”

“Here’s a young man with a lot of talent willing to step into the ring with anybody. It is a real fight, it’s an even fight, Devin reminds me a lot of a fighter from the past – Prince Naseem. A flashy, badass fighter.”

“JoJo reminds me a lot of a little Mexican fighter named Marco Antonio Barrera. And what did he do at the MGM Grand? Well you will see on December 4.”

“Jorge Linares put on a great performance, Devin congratulations, you did surprise me because you showed a lot of experience in the fight even though you hadn’t been in that type of fight. Devin needed that type of fight to get him to another level.”

“The difference between Linares and JoJo is about ten years difference, there’s a big age difference and in activity. JoJo has been active where Jorge hasn’t, so JoJo come round one will get started, not round eight.”

EDDIE HERN, MANAGING DIRECTOR, MATCHROOM SPORT:

“What a fight we have here, December 4th, MGM Grand, live on DAZN. Devin Haney will defend his WBC world lightweight championship against the former two-weight world champion, looking to become a three-weight world champion, Joseph Diaz.”

“This marks an incredible run live on DAZN, ten events in the next seven weeks in six different countries. We’re here today to talk about this tremendous fight, I thought we wouldn’t get there, plenty of talk on social media. I’m delighted that these two fighters have put pen to paper for an incredible fight here in Las Vegas. We’re expecting a full up MGM Grand for a great fight on December 4.”

“Devin Haney, JoJo Diaz, December 4, MGM Grand, live on DAZN – a tremendous fight night. Make sure you tune in, or join us live from the arena, I believe this fight will be completely sold out for a tremendous world lightweight championship as part of an unbelievable run it to close out the year.”

Tickets starting at $58 (plus fees) go on sale Friday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m. PT and can be purchased by visiting AXS.com.

BATTLE IN BILBAO: DOMESTIC AND EUROPEAN TITLES ON THE LINE AS MATCHROOM RETURN TO SPAIN ON DECEMBER 3

Kerman ‘Revolver’ Lejarraga returns to his home of Bilbao on Friday December 3, defending his European Super-Welterweight Title against Jack ‘Quiet Storm’ Flatley, live from the Bilbao Arena, Spain, and on DAZN worldwide.

Bilbao native Lejarraga (33-2, 25 KOs) returns to his hometown on December, defending his recently acquired EBU European Super-Welter Title. The tough Spaniard claimed victory by technical decision last time out against undefeated Frenchman Dylan Charrat, after an accidental clash of heads saw the bout stopped in round 10.

Ex-English Champion Flatley (17-1, 4 KOs) faces the biggest test of his career on December 4 against Lejarraga, a man with 35 professional fights and only two losses. The Bolton Super-Welterweight has only been stopped once back in 2019, amassing an impressive 17 wins on his way to a shot at the European Title.

In the second title fight of the night, Damian Biacho (11-0, 2 KOs) takes on fellow Spaniard and also flawless Guillermo Rivero (8-0-1, 1 KO) for the Spanish Super-Middleweight Title and maintain a perfect start to their respective careers.

Spanish Lightweight Samuel Carmona (5-0, 3 KOs) fights again in 2021 following a unanimous decision victory against Nicaraguan Joel Sanchez in July this year. Campbell Hatton returns to the ring after his win over Sonni Martinez on the Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk undercard and Jonathan Alonso (20-1, 7 KOs) looks to make it three wins on the bounce after suffering his first professional loss back 2019.

“It’s great to see fighters going back to their hometown to headline a card and what a night of boxing we’ve got on our hands on December 3,” said Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith. “Lejarraga vs. Flatley will be an all-out war, with a domestic title fight before and the likes of Hatton, Carmona and Alonso all looking to make statements to their division. Don’t miss the action, live worldwide on DAZN.”

THRILLING FEATHERWEIGHT CONTENDERS (#1) MAX HOLLOWAY AND (#3) YAIR RODRIGUEZ BATTLE AT UFC® APEX IN LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas – UFC® returns to UFC APEX with a featherweight contenders’ bout guaranteed to deliver fireworks, as No. 1 ranked contender Max Holloway battles No. 3 Yair Rodriguez. Hard-hitting heavyweights collide in the co-main event when Ben Rothwell faces Marcos Rogerio de Lima.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: HOLLOWAY vs. RODRIGUEZ will take place Saturday, November 13 from UFC APEX in Las Vegas. All bouts will stream on ESPN+, with the prelims beginning at a special start time of 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 1 p.m. PT/ 4 p.m. ET.

A limited number of tickets will be available on Monday, November 8 at www.axs.com.

Holloway (22-6, fighting out of Waianae, Hawaii) aims to build off his sensational victory over Calvin Kattar in January, which saw the former champion set a new record for significant strikes in a single UFC bout at 445. Throughout his career he also holds memorable wins against Jose Aldo (twice), Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar. Holloway now has his sights set on staking his claim for a title opportunity with another highlight-reel finish.

Rodriguez (13-2 1NC, fighting out of Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico) returns to action for the first time since his Fight of the Night win over Jeremy Stephens in late 2019. Rodriguez now looks to earn the biggest win of his career and establish himself as the top contender for a featherweight title shot.

Rothwell (39-13, fighting out of Kenosha, Wisc.) hopes to continue his momentum following a submission win over Chris Barnett in May. A 20-year MMA veteran, he also holds notable finishes against Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett and Matt Mitrione. Rothwell is now gunning for his 40th professional win by stopping De Lima in impressive fashion.

De Lima (18-8-1, fighting out of Sao Paulo, Brazil) intends to make the most of his second co-main event opportunity by becoming the first fighter to finish Rothwell in over eight years. During his time on the UFC roster, he has delivered notable wins against Maurice Greene, Ben Sosoli and Igor Pokrajac. De Lima now looks to stop Rothwell and earn a shot at the heavyweight top 15.

Additional bouts on the card include:

CHRISTINA HAMMER SIGNS WITH WASSERMAN BOXING

Wasserman Boxing is delighted to announce the signing of former two-weight World Champion Christina Hammer (26-1, 12 KOs) on a multi-fight deal.

The 31-year-old from Dortmund won her first World Title in 2010, defeating Teresa Perozzi via unanimous decision to claim the WBO World Middleweight crown. Hammer would go on to defend the belt twelve times during a nine-year reign, adding the WBC World Middleweight Title to her collection in 2016 following a unification bout with American boxer Kali Reis.

Hammer moved up in weight to capture the WBO World Super Middleweight Title in 2013, dethroning Carmen Garcia Toscano via first-round stoppage. She also challenged for the WBO World Super Welterweight Title in 2014, and was involved in one of female boxing’s biggest bouts when facing Claressa Shields in a historic contest for the Undisputed Middleweight Title in 2019.

Having signed promotional terms with Wasserman Boxing, Hammer has set her sights on recapturing world honours and will return to the ring on December 3 as part of a huge night of action in Ilsenburg, Germany.

“Welcome back boxing world,” said Hammer. “I am overjoyed to be joining Wasserman Boxing and I can’t wait go on the hunt for titles with my team, consisting of my new promoter and my new management O1NE Sport!

“I recently attended the Mairis Briedis vs. Artur Mann fight in Riga and here I had the opportunity to get an exact picture of the work that Kalle Sauerland and the Wasserman Boxing team are doing and immediately it felt right.

“I’m highly motivated and convinced that with Wasserman Boxing and O1NE Sport, I have the right partners to bring the big titles to Germany again.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Christina to the Wasserman Boxing team,” said promoter Kalle Sauerland. “She has already achieved a lot in her career, but working together, we believe there is still a lot more to come. Women’s boxing is in a fantastic place right now and there are some huge fights out there for her. We are confident that Christina will be World Champion again soon.”

“With Christina Hammer, Denis Radovan and Sophie Alisch, we now have three world-class boxers promoted by Wasserman Boxing,” said O1NE Sport founder Daniel Todorovic. “I’m excited for the future and convinced that Christina will be able build on old successes with a top player like Wasserman Boxing at her side. A big thank you goes to our long-time partner the Sauerland family and the whole Wasserman Boxing Team for another great opportunity.”

WORLD CLASS AND UNDEFEATED PROSPECT AARON McKENNA SIGNS LONG TERM PROMOTIONAL AGREEMENT WITH MICK HENNESSY

London, UK (5 November 2021) Unbeaten hot Irish prospect Aaron “The Silencer” McKenna has signed a long-term promotional agreement with promoter Mick Hennessy and joins undefeated brother Stevie at Hennessy Sports to form a world class strike partnership.

The middleweight ace kicks off the first fight under the new deal when he features on Hennessy’s triple-title extravaganza on Saturday 13th November at the Coventry Skydome Arena, live and free on Channel 5 in the UK and Ireland.

McKenna will challenge for the first title of his career when he contests for the WBC Youth ‘World’ Middleweight title in a battle of the punchers against Ghanaian hard-hitter Edem Bika.? Previous prospects who have won a WBC Youth crown have gone on to greatness including the World’s current best pound for pound fighter Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez – who McKenna aims to face and dethrone within the next few years.

The County Monaghan hot shot has looked sensational since turning pro following a stellar amateur career in December 2017 in Las Vegas. Campaigning almost exclusively in the United States, McKenna has amassed an immaculate twelve fight record with 7 KO’s as he marks himself out as one of the very best young standout prospects in World boxing.

He has featured on Hennessy shows in his last two fights; last December in Redditch when he halted Jordan Grannum – who hadn’t been stopped in 79 fights – with a savage body shot in the second round and Grannum didn’t come out for the third and last month he out classed Croatian Ivica?Gogosevic in Coventry.?

And he joins elder sibling Stevie ‘The Hitman’ under the quality packed Hennessy Sports banner where Stevie has fought since September last year before officially signing in December and has since flourished and taken his record to 9-0 with 8 knockouts.

McKenna is excited to have signed a long-term agreement with Hennessy and has seen what the renowned promoter has done for Stevie’s career and cannot wait to put his career into full throttle.

Aaron said, “I can’t wait to get started under Mick and Hennessy Sports I’m really looking forward to a massive future with big plans ahead so I couldn’t be more happier putting pen to paper with him,”

“For me fighting regularly, building up my career and reputation is massively important and of course receiving the fantastic exposure on Channel 5 which has already made a big difference to me, so signing with Mick at this stage is absolutely brilliant,”

“His reputation is second to none and he has guided so many fighters to world titles so I have total confidence in that he will do the same for me and of course Stevie. I can’t wait for the day that the both of us are World Champions.”

“I’m looking to put on a real show for the fans on Saturday 13th November in Coventry when I challenge for my first title, the WBC Youth World title, which is a big statement and many great fighters have held that title, like Canelo, and have gone on to achieve great things in the sport,”

“Fighting alongside my brother Stevie again is a huge boost and the pair of us will really take the boxing world by storm together.”

Father and trainer Fergal is ecstatic that both his boys are now under the guidance of Hennessy and will now be propelled to stardom under his expert guidance.

He said, “Mick has done a fantastic job with Stevie so I’m really happy that he will be promoting Aaron as well. Both boys are really excited to be in the Hennessy Sport stable and you will now see the both of them flourish as they develop from prospects to contenders to champions. We’re in for a really exciting time.”

Hennessy has big plans for Aaron and has delivered the WBC Youth title in his first fight under the new deal.

He said, “I’ve known Fergal and the boys for a long time through the amateur scene and we have developed a very strong bond and friendship over the years. I have long admired the skill and talent that both boys possess and they were incredible rising through the amateurs ranks, winning countless titles and have entered the pros with even more promise. I was delighted to officially welcome Stevie to the team in December and he has looked sensational so far maintaining his unbeaten record as he cuts through the welterweight division. So I’m now delighted to have officially signed Aaron to a long term deal that will see him challenge for the WBC Youth World title on Saturday 13th November in Coventry and winning that title will be a real statement of intent for him. To have world class young talents like Stevie and now Aaron under the Hennessy Sports banner is truly amazing for us and I’m really looking forward what the future holds with the boys and Fergal.”

Hennessy finished by saying firmly, “All of the premier players in World boxing have missed a trick with this young man. At this moment in time he is by far the best signing in World boxing, and will go on to be an absolute crossover superstar in the middleweight and super-middleweight divisions.”

HAMZAH SHEERAZ TO FACE BRADLEY SKEETE IN “BREAKOUT” FIGHT

HAMZAH SHEERAZ will defend his WBO European Super-Welterweight championship against Bradley Skeete at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday December 4, live on BT Sport.

It’s the biggest fight so far in the career of Sheeraz who is one of British boxing’s best upcoming talents.

Londoner Skeete (29-3, 14 KOs) has mixed it with the best and made three unbeaten defences of the British Welterweight title that he took from Sam Eggington before relinquishing the belt.

Ilford’s Sheeraz (13-0, 9 KOs) who now trains in California will be making the fourth defence of his belt and bidding for an eighth consecutive inside the distance win.

The high class card is headed by the blockbuster Light-Heavyweight rematch between Commonwealth champion Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde.

“I am looking forward to facing Bradley Skeete on December 4 and it’s going to be an unbelievable fight for the fans to witness,” said Sheeraz.

“He’s won titles and is a technically experienced fighter and this makes it exciting. I’m coming to win and I will win.”

“I’ve been training away from home in the USA out of my comfort zone, away from family and friends. I like him as a fighter but on Dec 4 in the ring I’m going to beat him.

“Bradley is a good step-up opponent for me. I believe I will have too much for him come fight night. I’m looking to make a big statement and show the world I belong with the best at 154.”

Skeete is now back in business, training up in Sheffield with Dominic Ingle and had a run-out in June, scoring a third round stoppage over Dale Arrowsmith.

He insists he is a rejuvenated fighter ready to enjoy a successful swansong to his professional career.

“Obviously before I fell out of love with boxing but now I am the old me, I am buzzing,” insisted Skeete. “I am back where I started and it is a very good fight for me. In their eyes I have been there and done it and they will be looking to take my scalp. They obviously think I am at the back end of my career and I will be a good name for him but, and I am not just saying it, I love boxing again and I feel so good after a good long break.

“It is like a new lease of life. I go back a long way with Al (former trainer, Smith), but I just needed a break for one and a fresh start for two. I am doing what I do and enjoying it, now I am ready to go again and to come back in a good fight like this against Hamzah is perfect.

“He is a young, fresh champion with big things being said about him. But, listen, with my experience I am very, very confident. It is my biggest domestic fight since Sam Eggington and look how I performed on that night.

“I’ve sparred Hamzah before and he came down the gym around the time he turned pro, I think. In his early career he was coming up on my undercards or similar cards to me. He’s got a big following, he’s been guided right and he can fight.

“He is nice and tall, which is something I am not used to saying about my opponents, he can fight and he is a good kid. I’ve got no bad words to say about him and he is at the stage of his career where he needs a step-up because he hasn’t really been put in with a test yet.

“I am sure Frank and the people around him want to see if he is the real deal. He is fighting me and, after some time off, I am fresh and this is my night.”

Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren said: “Hamzah versus Bradley is a great fight and fitting for such a strong card.

“Since we signed Hamzah to Queensberry I have believed that he has World title potential and his fight against Bradley will be a breakout fight.

“He has gone about his business without fuss and the improvement in every fight is clear to see. I believe that this fight is the right step up at the right time.

“I promoted Bradley for much of his career. I know just how skilful and talented that he is. He won a British title and other titles with us. Now he is back to try and win another title belt.

“There are few nicer boxers to meet than Bradley, but for once I will be in the opposing corner on December 4.”

Sheeraz won his WBO European crown almost two years ago when he stopped Ryan Kelly inside six rounds and has made subsequent defences against Paul Kean, Guido Nicolas Pitto and Ezequiel Gurria.

Earlier this year he moved his training base to Los Angeles where he is training under experienced Ricky Funez at the Ten Goose gym in Los Angeles.

Hamzah, 22,  is now highly ranked in the WBO ratings for their World crown held by Argentina’s Brian Castano.

Skeete, 34, outpointed Eggington to become British and Commonwealth champion in March 2016. He then made his domestic title defences against John Thain, Shayne Singleton and Dale Evans to win his Lonsdale belt outright.

After giving up that title, Kerman Lejarraga defeated him in a European title fight, but if he were to beat Sheeraz it would give him a ticket to the top once again.
