How does a kid from Shirley Long Island make it onto the world stage of professional prize fighting? Enter, CLETUS SELDIN (Shirley, NY 25-1 21KO’s). Seldin is set to defend his NABA Super Lightweight title against tough Brazilian, WILLIAM SILVA (28-3 16KO’s) in a 10-round cross-roads fight at Triller Fight Club tonight (10/16) live from the Barclays Center.

Seldin grew up on Long Island’s south shore and from a young age had a no quit attitude. While attending Longwood high school, Cletus was a talented multi-sport athlete as both a state champion wrestler and starting cornerback for the Long Island Champion Longwood Lions. It was during this time Cletus decided he would become a professional athlete.

At 5’7″, a professional football career was out of reach. Instead, Seldin turned his sights to becoming a professional body builder, competing in a few meets. While finding some success, it would not be his passion. At the age of 22, Cletus walked into a boxing gym for the first time.

After a year of getting beat up, Cletus began to see a change, becoming the aggressor – and the “Hebrew Hammer” was born. Cletus’ strong work ethic and hunger to win translated to dominance in the ring. His come forward, throwback style reminiscent of the greats of boxing’s past like Marciano created a fear in his opponents. He becomes the cerebral assassin that abuts you with the left and puts you to sleep with the “Hebrew Hammer” right.

Saturday night marks an important test for Seldin. Entering the fight on a four-bout knockout streak and, more importantly, on the fringe of world title contention. In his way is stablemate, William Silva, who finds himself in the same position as Seldin, but simply on the other side of the ring. Only one man will have his hand raised, and to the victor goes the spoils. Will the “Hebrew Hammer” put an abrupt stop the fight as he has done 21 times prior, or will Silva put out the flame and take the belt and victory back to Brazil? Tune in tonight to find out.

Undefeated Mexican welterweight Santiago “Somer” Dominguez (25-0, 19 KOs) returned to the ring after a 10-month idle stretch, but the heavy-handed prospect made up for lost time, stopping Jesus “Chino” Antonio Rubio (13-5-1, 7 KOs) midway through the fifth round of the main event, when Rubio suddenly turned his back to the action to halt their fight.

Dominguez, a former NABF Welterweight Champion, was out of the ring for personal reasons. His long-awaited return resulted in him capturing another title belt, the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino welterweight championship.

Rubio was coming off an unsuccessful challenge for the vacant WBA Interim World Super Lightweight Championship, in which he lost a 12-round decision to Alberto Puello (18-0) Prior to that fight, Rubio won an 8-round decision over 21-3 Sonny Fredickson.

Former WBC Youth Silver Featherweight Champion Jose “El Sugar” Eduardo Nunez (22-1, 22 KOs) won his 12th straight fight in the co-featured event, knocking out Osvaldo “Catotas” Maldonado (10-2, 5 KOs) in the ninth round. Nunez, who is a perfect 22 knockouts in 22 pro victories, was one of the best kept secrets in boxing, but the added exposure he received from fighting on UFC FIGHT PASS platform will undoubtedly make him much better known, particularly in the United States. with 21 knockouts in 21 victories, however,

Featherweight Nazrio Castro (6-3, 3 Kos) took a 6-round decision from Enrique Mejia Morales (3-2), while super welterweight Valerie Bustamante won a 4-round decision versus Milagros Gabriela Diaz in a fight between pro-debuting Mexican women.

New York (October 16, 2021)-Tonight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Will Madera takes on Jamshidbek Najmitdonov in an eight-round junior welterweight bout at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The fight can be seen Live on FITE.TV and TrillerFightClub.com at 6 PM ET

Madera, who is managed by Split-T Management, has a record of 16-1-3 with nine knockouts.

The 30 year-old Madera of Albany, New York is an eight-year professional. He has wins over Victor Vazquez (1-0), Norbert Gluck (6-0), Gabriel Duluc (11-2) and Thomas Mattice (13-0). In his last bout, Madera Iram Julian Rodriguez on April 16th in Monterrey, Mexico.

Najmitdinov will be making his American debut with a record of 17-1 with 14 knockouts.

Najmitdonov, also 30 years-old is from Tashkent, Kazakstan, has won seven straight, and is coming off a 5th round stoppage over Merab Turkadze on June 11th in Tashkent.

At Friday’s weigh-in, Madera weiged 139.4 lbs. Najmitdinov was 139.8

PHILADELPHIA (October 15, 2021)–On Saturday night, October 16th, junior welterweight contender Jamshidbek Najmitdinov will make his long-awaited American debut when he takes on Will Madera (16-1-3, 9 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The fight will be part of Trillerverz III and can be seen live on FITE.TV and Trillerfightclub.com at 6 PM ET

Najmitdinov, who is promoted by Banner Promotions and Uprising Promotions, has a record of 17-1 with 14 knockouts. The 31 year-old from Tashkent, Uzbekistan is riding a seven bout winning streak (for which the last five have come by way of stoppage) since his only career blemish when he dropped a controversial decision to former world champion Viktor Postol in Postol’s home country of Ukraine.

That bout, which took place on September 16, 2017, saw Jamshidbek drop Postol three times but was denied two of those knockdowns, due to Postol fighting in front of his home-country fans. Jamshidbek pushed the action and established himself as one of the top-140 pounders in the world. Since that fight, Jamshidebek has won five in a row, which includes his last bout when he won the WBC CIS and Slovac titles with a 1st round stoppage over Giorgi Khutsishvili on October 6th in Uzbekistan.

“I am very excited. I have been waiting for this opportunity to fight in America for a long time. I will show my best ability. I really do not know anything about Madera. I just want to fight anyone. I am not here to take easy fights. This is very exciting to fight in New York. It motivates me to show my best. I feel very confident, and I believe that I will win on five or six rounds,” said Najmitdnov

Las Vegas – UFC^® continues its run of shows at UFC APEX with a highly anticipated matchup in the middleweight division, as No. 2 ranked contender Paulo Costa returns to action against No. 5 Marvin Vettori. In the lightweight co-main event, Grant Dawson looks to remain undefeated in the UFC as he takes on Ricky Glenn. 

UFC FIGHT NIGHT^®: COSTA vs. VETTORI will take place Saturday, October 23 from UFC APEX in Las Vegas. All bouts will stream on ESPN+, with the prelims beginning at a special start time of 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET and the main card at 1 p.m. PT/ 4 p.m. ET.

Knockout artist Costa (13-1, fighting out of Contagem, Minas Gerais, Brazil) steps back into the Octagon for the first time since challenging for the middleweight title in 2020. A ferocious finisher who has earned stoppages in 12 of his 13 wins, Costa rose to the top of the division with victories over Yoel Romero, Uriah Hall and Johny Hendricks. He now looks to make a statement and defend his spot in the rankings by becoming the first person to stop Vettori.   

Vettori (17-5-1, fighting out of Mezzocorona, Italy) intends to bounce back from his UFC championship opportunity earlier this year with a vintage performance. During his run to title contention, Vettori proved himself to be one of the toughest matchups in the division with wins over Jack Hermansson, Kevin Holland and Karl Roberson. He now aims to secure the biggest victory of his career by dominating Costa to secure another shot at UFC gold.

Dana White’s Contender Series signee Grant (17-1, fighting out of Lee’s Summit, Mo.) seeks to extend his UFC win streak to six with another dominant performance. A powerful grappler, he has finished an impressive 15 of his 17 wins, including stoppages over Michael Trizano, Darrick Minner and Leonardo Santos. Dawson now has his sights set on breaking into the rankings by becoming the first person to finish Glenn in the UFC.

Glenn (22-6-1, fighting out of Sacramento, Calif.) looks to make the most of his first UFC co-main event opportunity. Having recently returned to the Octagon after a three-year layoff, he made waves with his spectacular 37-second KO of Joaquim Silva in June. Glenn now intends to make it two in a row by taking out Dawson and beginning his climb up the lightweight ladder.

Santillan, who will be fighting at home as the San Diego native sports a perfect mark of 27-0 with 15 knockouts.

The 29 year-old Santillan is the former NABO welterweight champion, and is the cusp of a big fight as he wins over Peter Haro (2-0), Michael Belasi (10-2), Daniyer Hanik (10-0), Osenohan Vazquez (7-1-1), Eduardo Rivera (9-1-2), Ernesto Ortiz (10-2), Omar Tineda (18-3), Sammy Valintin (12-0), Dodzi Kemwh (19-1), Alejandro Barboza (11-1), and his bout whenhe took a unanimous deciion from Cecil McCalla (23-4) on June 26 in Las Vegas.

Ruiz of Los Angeles is 17-1 with 12 knockouts. Ruz, 24 has a win over Jonathan Foruna (8-2), and his last bout, when he won an unanimnous decision over previously undefeated Bobizhan Mominov on April 22nd in West Point, New York.

(Oct. 14, 2021) — Mexico’s young general hopes to make it 20 for 20 in his toughest test to date. David “El General” Cuellar (19-0, 12 KOs) will make the first defense of his WBC Youth Silver 115-pound title in a 10-round main event against former world champion Moises Fuentes this Saturday, Oct. 16 at Oasis Arena in Cancun, Mexico.

Cuellar turned pro as a 16-year-old in July 2017 and soon established himself as one of Mexico’s top prospects. He has won four straight bouts by knockout, most recently stopping the previously unbeaten Karim Arce in the ninth round of an action thriller. Fuentes (25-6-1, 14 KOs) is coming off a three-year layoff, but he has extensive experience against the world’s elite. He was the WBO 105-pound champion from 2011-2013, notched a fifth-round knockout over Puerto Rican legend Ivan Calderon, and won an interim world title at 108 pounds. October 14,, 2021, Panama City, Panama — Luis Rodriguez, (5-0, 5 KOs) from Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, coming off his 5th consecutive knockout win in five professional fights, fights Friday October 15, at Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama.

Rodriguez will battle rugged and experienced Panamanian Addir Sanchez (12-22-4, 6 KO’s) in a six-round middleweight bout.

The 24-year-old Rodriguez, who decided to bypass the Tokyo Olympics to turn pro, was a five time Puerto Rico National Champion.

Rodriguez’, whose team includes renowned boxing attorney Tony Gonzalez and promoter, Rivalta Boxing, made his pro debut on June 11 and then fought on June 26, July 3, August 20 and September 19. His knockouts have come in rounds 2, 1, 4, 1 and 2 respectively.

“Friday night will be Luis’ sixth fight in four months,” said Gonzalez. “Our pedal to the metal philosophy continues and we plan to fight two more times in November. One of the scenarios we have in mind is having Luis showcased on ESPN Latino or ESPN in November. More importantly we would absolutely love and embrace Luis fighting in NYC at Madison Square Garden in December, before bringing him back home to Puerto Rico where ideally he would fight for a regional belt before his home crowd.”

Luis’ bout is scheduled for 6 rounds and will be fighting in eight-rounders shortly thereafter. “We are looking to get him in the ring with higher quality opponents each fight and a regional title fight before long.”

Hanover, MD (October 13, 2021) — A full eight-fight card is set for a huge night of boxing that is the most stacked card in The Beltway/DMV Region since the start of the pandemic.

Headlining the card will be super featherweight Jordan “Short Dog” White battling Joe Perez in a fight scheduled for 10-rounds.

White, of Washington, D.C., has a record of 11-1 with nine knockouts. The 24 year-old White is a six-year professional who has wins over two undefeated opponents in his last two bouts. He stopped Ronaldo Solis (4-0-1) on February 28, 2020. In his last bout, White made a big splash in his national television debut as he took out undefeated Misael Lopez (11-0) in the 6th round on March 10th in Uncasville, CT. Perez, 31 years-old of San Diego is 15-5-2 with 10 Knockouts. Perez is a nine-year professional who has never been stopped in his 22-fight career.

Nicholson of Laurel, MD has a record of 23-4-1 with 20 big knockouts. The 28 year-old Nicholson is an eight-year professional who has amassed wins over German Perez (11-1-3), Joshua Okine (28-5-1) and Isaac Rodrigues (25-2).

Darocha of Miami, FL, has a record of 9-5-1 with six knockouts. Darocha is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Mark Anderson September 20, 2019 in Miami.

St. Petersburg, FL (October 14, 2021) – To say that St. Petersburg junior welterweight Joseph Fernandez has a good work ethic would be an understatement.

Each weekday, Fernandez’ morning begins at 4:15 AM when he wakes up to get ready for strength and conditioning training at 5. Following the class, Fernandez grabs something to eat, cleans up and heads to his fulltime job installing hurricane windows and doors. The labor-intensive position has him working 8 to 10 hours per day. After work, Fernandez has a short time to relax and recharge before a 2-3 hour workout at Fight Fitness Center in Pinellas Park, FL.

Needless to say, it’s a challenge for the St. Petersburg native.

“It requires a lot of hard work and dedication,” said Fernandez, who has an excellent 13-3-3 professional ledger with 4 wins by KO. I have to remain focused on what I’m doing at that moment and not think about what else I’ve got going on during the day.”

Oberlton of Philadelphia was the number-two ranked light heavyweight in the United States and was a favorite to be part of the United States Olympic team, but he decided to turn his attention to the paid ranks.

Oberlton competed in approximately 100 amateur fights where he won many tournaments, including: U.S. National Junior Olympics; Two-time National Golden Gloves champion and Eastern Elite Qualifier. Oberlton placed 2nd at the 2020 United States Olympic Trials.

Los Angeles, CA – October 14, 2021 – Probellum is thrilled to announce the promotional signing of former IBF bantamweight champion Paul Butler – ahead of his upcoming world title clash with John Riel Casimero.

Butler (33-2, 15 knockouts) has operated at the highest echelon in the sport for a number of years, after making his professional debut back in 2010.

It didn’t take long for the Ellesmere Port man to make an impact, winning the British super-flyweight title in just his ninth fight with a first round knockout win, before adding the Commonwealth, WBO Intercontinental and WBA Intercontinental bantamweight titles to his collection not long after.

The highlight then came in 2014, when Butler defeated Stuart Hall to win the IBF bantamweight title, and ‘The Baby Faced Assassin’ has remained firmly at world level from that point onwards.

The 32-year-old is now set to challenge for another world title, after Probellum won the purse bid for his WBO bantamweight title showdown with defending champion Casimero.

SAN DIEGO (Oct. 13, 2021)—One of Mexico’s most decorated champions, WBO featherweight king Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete, knows the challenge at hand is a formidable one. The former junior featherweight champion will make the second defense of his featherweight title against Joet Gonzalez this Friday at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Gonzalez is making his second attempt at a world title, while Navarrete hopes to improve to 10-0 in world title fights.

In the 10-round welterweight co-feature, San Diego native Giovani Santillan (27-0, 15 KOs) will take on the hard-charging Angel Ruiz (17-1, 12 KOs). Ruiz is coming off April’s decision win over the previously undefeated Bobirzhan Mominov.
