Mielnicki Jr. Decisions Kamil Gardzielik

NEWARK, N.J. (June 21, 2025) — Middleweight contender Vito Mielnicki Jr. returned to his home state for another night in the spotlight.

The 23-year-old defeated Poland’s Kamil Gardzielik via 10-round unanimous decision (100-89 3x) Saturday evening at Newark’s Prudential Center.

Mielnicki (21-1-1, 12 KOs) delivered a composed performance despite early success. In the second round, he floored Gardzielik (19-1, 4 KOs) with a right hand after the latter briefly switched to southpaw.

Rather than chase the finish, Mielnicki boxed patiently behind a long jab, mixing in right hands with left uppercuts down the middle and hooks around the elbows. The right hand continued to play an important role down the stretch, though he was unable to hurt him as he had earlier.

Mielnicki said, “I was happy with my performance. This came from working on sticking to the game plan and not getting out of my game plan when I hurt somebody. I felt we did a good job with that.”

“I wanted to use a hard, stiff jab. I felt that we did that really well. I welted up his face early. We set up that double right hand that we worked on in camp.”

“I feel blessed. As a kid, I dreamed of fighting here in the main event.”

Tucker Shuts Down Simpson in Grudge Match

Jahi Tucker (15-1-1, 6 KOs) settled his beef with Lorenzo Simpson (15-3, 9 KOs) with a 10-round points victory (96-94 and 97-93 2x) after weeks of online back-and-forth.

The bad blood carried into the ring, as both wasted no time trading at close range. Simpson succeeded with left uppercuts to the body and straight lefts to the head, but Tucker landed more consistent power shots.

In rounds four and five, Tucker turned up the pressure, walking Simpson down and unloading combinations while ignoring return fire that connected often. By the sixth and seventh, Tucker changed tactics, boxing from the outside and connecting with right hands and left uppercuts before moving again.

He continued switching styles down the stretch, outpointing a game Simpson in the exchanges.

Tucker said, “The difference was that I really wanted it more. He’s a hell of a fighter, but it was crunch time for me. You know how it is.”

“There was no real bad blood. We’re just two solid competitors. We’re two guys trying to feed our families. Of course, when you want that spot, you come to fight. He came to fight, so I had to dig deep.”

Knyba Overwhelms Siwy
Undefeated heavyweight Damian Knyba (16-0, 10 KOs) scored an eighth-round stoppage over Marcin Siwy (25-1-1, 12 KOs) in an all-Polish showdown.

Knyba, a six-foot-seven behemoth with a six-inch height advantage, used an extended lead hand to keep Siwy at range while the shorter man lunged forward headfirst, looking to work on the inside.

The early rounds were filled with clinches, but Knyba found his rhythm in the fifth and sixth, digging to the body and landing around the guard.

By the seventh and eighth, he easily landed the right on a bloodied Siwy, who offered less and less in return. Siwy made it back to his corner after the eighth but was ruled unable to continue.

In undercard results:

Junior Welterweight: Brandun Lee (30-0, 23 KOs) UD 8 Elias Araujo (22-6, 9 KOs), Scores: 80-72 3x.

Rajon Chance Defeats Yan Carlos Perez in Main Event of ‘Prospects Collide’

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 16, 2025)

On Saturday night, Star Boxing delivered a thrilling boxing event that had fans engaged from start to finish. The non-stop action saw fights with varying levels of momentum swings, guts, glory and skills on full display as multiple fights had a legitimate claim to “Fight of the Night.”

The setting was intriguing as the beautiful old school arena was impressively adorned with Empire Harley-Davidson’s motorcycles, celebrating their collaboration with Star Boxing.

Fight night results:

Rajon Chance vs Yan Carlos Perez

Rajon Chance scored a hard fought, narrow 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Dominican Republic stand out Yan Carlos Perez to capture the NBA Super Bantamweight title capping an outstanding Star Boxing card presented by Joe DeGuardia at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

Chance and Perez set a quick pace from the outset as both fighters displayed tremendous skill battling toe-to-toe the entire fight. The fight met, and exceeded, expectations and captivated old timers with impressive punch output, terrific body work and classic ‘inside the pocket’ action. The judges had the fight up for grabs until Chance finished strong and won via a narrow 2-point unanimous decision (96-94) on all three judges’ score cards. The scores indicated that Chance needed that final round to finally put a blemish on the previously undefeated resume of Perez and Chance delivered with a spirited ending.

Chance of East Orange, New Jersey is now 9-1-1, 6 KO’s. Perez of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic falls to 6-1, 4 KO’s. Both fighters clearly displayed they are fighters with skills well above their number of pro fights.

Harley Burke vs Louis Maietta

The co-feature pitted an old-fashioned neighborhood type rivalry between super

middleweights Louis Maietta of Bronx, New York and Harley Burke of Yonkers, New York.

This fight was another fight that fans will remember for the action in the ring and the energy of fans of both fighters booming equally throughout the arena. The fight matched the crowd intensity as Burke and Maietta were like gladiators of years gone by. Grit, blood and heart were on display during the entire fight with fans chanting and rooting for each fighter.

Maietta, the brave and gutsy NYC fireman, came out strong and appeared to be winning the quick paced first round, when Burke dropped Maietta with an overhand right. Maietta fought back bravely throughout the bout, but Burke’s combinations were too much for Maietta to combat. Both fighters large groups of fans remained vocal throughout as the action inside the ring and fervor of the divergent crowd made for a dramatic and thrilling spectacle. In the end Burke scored a hard fought unanimous decision to improve 10-0, 7KOs. Maietta falls to 6-5-2, 2 KOs.

Eduardo Monrreal vs Austin Cassese

Eduardo Monrreal shocked previously undefeated hometown favorite Austin Cassese in the opening round of their four-round junior middleweight fight.

Monrreal struck early as he landed a left hand from the southpaw stance that put Cassese on the canvas. Cassese momentarily got himself back into the

fight and then hurt Monrreal with two hard right hands along the ropes. Monrreal roared back however and uncorked a huge right hand that dropped Cassese for the second time. Cassese tried to get to his feet but fell back to the canvas and the fight was over.

Monrreal of El Paso, Texas is 2-2, 2KO’s. Cassese of Shrub Oak, New York drops to 3-1, 3KO’s

Ryan O’Rourke vs Boubacar Sylla

Ryan O’Rourke made an emphatic statement by remaining undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Boubacar Sylla in a welterweight fight.

O’Rourke dominated the eight-round contest by out punching Sylla

throughout, landing hard combinations behind his jabs and almost had Sylla out at the end of the bout just before the bell rang to end the bout.

O’Rourke of Dublin, Ireland goes to 13-0, 3KO’s. Sylla of won by scores of 80-70 twice and 80-71 to stay undefeated with a 13-0 record. Sylla of Cincinnati, Ohio falls to of 12-2, 7KO’s.

Sharif Oné vs.

?Kevin Hill

The opener saw the successful pro debut of Bronx, New York’s Sharif Oné. Oné beat Kevin Hill of East St. Louis, Illinois at 2:59 of round two of their middleweight bout.

Oné dropped Hill in round one and battered him around in round two before the fight was stopped. One goes to 1-0, 1KO. Hill Drops to 1-4, 1KO.

The show was promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, as Joe returned to his roots

where he promoted shows in the 1990’s and once fought on his way to Junior Olympic and Golden Gloves Championships. Interestingly, both his dad and uncle fought as professionals as well at the same historic venue. The enthusiastic crowd saw sensational ‘old school’ action in the ring and riveting fan engagement outside the ring as the fights lived up to their pre-fight billing. The entire show was beyond impressive.

It wasn’t just a boxing event— it was a full-throttle experience that kept everyone standing, shouting, and supporting their favorites, and, in the end, acknowledging and appreciating all the fighters, regardless of who they were originally rooting for. A fantastic evening of entertainment

“PROSPECTS COLLIDE” TAKES CENTER STAGE

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 14, 2025) – The anticipation has reached a boiling point as Star Boxing brings the fire back to the Westchester County Center TONIGHT Saturday, June 14, with its hard-hitting fight card, “Prospects Collide.” The card features a high-stakes blend of rising talent, city rivalries, and throwback grit—an event tailor-made for fight fans hungry for real action.

Earlier this week, the fight world got a taste of what’s to come during a packed press conference at Empire Harley-Davidson in New Rochelle, where fighters traded words, staredowns, and predictions. The event was drenched in energy as press, fans, and industry insiders gathered among steel and chrome for a raw preview of Saturday’s matchups.

At the heart of the event is the Super-Bantamweight NBA Title showdown between boxing stylist Rajon “Picasso” Chance and undefeated power-puncher Yan Carlos “El Baka” Perez of the Dominican Republic. With both fighters eager to prove themselves on the big stage, this boxer-vs-brawler clash promises fireworks.

“I like the boxer vs. puncher theme… there’s only one way to find out who can really punch,” said Chance.
“I’m ready to show the best version of myself,” Perez calmly responded, confidence in his voice and knockout power in his hands.

Local bragging rights will also be on the line in a classic borough battle between Yonkers and the Bronx. In this battle amongst fan-favorites, undefeated Irish-American Harley Burke takes on tought Bronx Firefighter Louis Maietta, in a six-round Super Middleweight bout that has a throwback vibe that feels more personal than promotional.

“Irish vs. Italian. Yonkers vs. Bronx. This fight sells itself,” Burke declared.
“We’re putting on a hell of a show Saturday night,” Maietta fired back.

Also featured is Austin “All-American” Cassese of Shrub Oak, NY, a Marist College grad, who is seeking another highlight-reel finish in front of a hometown crowd. Cassese takes on Eduardo Monrreal in a scheduled four-rounder.

In another compelling 50/50 bout, Ireland’s unbeaten Ryan O’Rourke (12-0, 3 KO) squares off with tough Cincinnati native Boubacar Sylla (12-1, 7 KO) in a Welterweight clash that could steal the show.

Making his pro debut is Bronx math teacher and USIBA National Champion Sharif One, a proud Ivorian-American stepping into the professional ranks against Kevin Hill in a four-round Super Welterweight bout. A natural leader inside and outside the ring, One’s mix of brains and brawn makes him one to watch.

Promoter Joe DeGuardia, President of Star Boxing, sees the card as a throwback to boxing’s golden era—real fights, real risks, and fighters chasing greatness the hard way.

“This is the kind of card boxing needs,” said DeGuardia. “Great matches, storylines and historic ties to the old days. Matchups where pride, progression, and passion are all on the line in front of excited, vested fans.”

The event is being held in proud collaboration with Empire Harley-Davidson, which hosted the week’s press conference and continues to support community-centered entertainment rooted in tradition and toughness.

“This partnership is just the beginning,” said Empire GM Kyle Hildebrand. “We’ll be there in full force Saturday night. This is exactly the kind of energy we want to be part of.”

ABOUT JUNE 14 FIGHTS AT WESTCHESTER COUNTY CENTER:

The Westchester County Center, once a cornerstone of boxing’s golden era, will once again come alive as Joe DeGuardia delivers a thrilling professional boxing card, which blends elite-level talent with throwback-style rivalries reminiscent of the sport’s glory days.

“We are recreating this on June 14. We have 50/50 matchups in the title fight

between Chance against Perez, and the exciting O’Rourke vs Sylla battle.

Plus, we have the neighborhood battles like we have in Maietta against Burke. There

are not many cards like this today and I commend these fighters for stepping up, taking

a risk, and not waiting for years to fight ‘real fights.’ This is great for fans and for

fighters’ development as adversity makes better fighters. This is how you hone

character and ultimate rewards of even bigger fights down the line,” said Star Boxing CEO,

?Joe DeGuardia.

Rajon Chance vs. Yan Carlos Perez…

In a featured title fight, Rajon Chance takes on Yan Carlos Perez in a Super-Bantamweight bout scheduled for 10-rounds for the NBA Title. Rajon ‘Weezy’ Chance, 24, an accomplished slick boxer, has a record of 8-1-1 with four knockouts. The five-year pro, also known as

‘Picasso’, was a top US Amateur and holds a win over previously and draw Elon Dejesus. Chance’s only blemish was a highly controversial split decision loss to undefeated Travon Lawson. Chance faces the toughest fight of his career against knockout artist Yan Carlos Perez,

of the Dominican Republic. Perez, brings in an undefeated record of 6-0 with five

knockouts. The exciting banger already has wins over tough competition and already defeated New York’s Ronny Reyes (4-1) and Jose Santoya (6-1). He iIs coming off a first round stoppage over 38-fight veteran Merito Sabillo on May 3, 2025.

Ryan O’Rourke vs. Boubacar Sylla…

Another thrilling matchup features undefeated Ryan O’Rourke (12-0, 3 KO) of Dublin, Ireland against Boubacar Sylla (12-1, 7 KO) in a welterweight bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

O’Rourke, 26 of Dublin, Ireland spent the early part of his career fighting in Europe

before coming stateside and racking up four wins in America, which was highlighted by

a victory over Faycal Rezkalah (6-1). Sylla of Cincinnatti is a nine-year pro, who holds a victory over previously undefeated Marlon Brown (7-0), and was a highly regarded amateur.

Harley Burke vs. Louis Maietta…

For locals, in perhaps the most highly anticipated fight of the night, Yonkers native Harley Burke risks his undefeated record (9-0, 7 KO’s), when he takes on tough Louis Maietta in a six-round super-middleweight fight.

Burke, has a knockout win over previously undefeated Raekwon Williams, and is coming off a unanimous decision over Tevin Terrance on November 23, 2024 in Huntington, New York, one of only two fights where the knockout artist has had to go the distance. FDNY Fireman, Louis Maietta of the Bronx, is 6-4-2 with two knockouts. The 30-year-old Maietta, is also a fan favorite and has developed well over the past year. He has won three straight and stopped Santiago Torra on January 26th in Colombia. Like Burke, Maietta is expected to bring a big contingency of fans. It will be the Yonkers vs Bronx, Irish vs Italian and Laborer vs Fireman. This fight is what epitomizes the glory days of local boxing when fans are just as vested outside the ring as the fighters are inside the ring.

Rodrigo Marte vs. Edwin Rodriguez…

Rodrigo Marte (6-0, 5 KO) of the Dominican Republic is being heralded as a star in

the making. Marte takes on tough veteran Edwin Rodriguez (12-9-2, 5 K0) of

ELECTRIC ENERGY IGNITES “PROSPECTS COLLIDE” PRESS CONFERENCE

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 10, 2025) – The atmosphere was electric yesterday at Empire Harley Davidson in New Rochelle, NY, as Star Boxing hosted a live press conference previewing this Saturday’s highly anticipated fight card, “Prospects Collide,” set for June 14 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains..

The “Prospect Collide” Press Conference event drew media, fans, and fight insiders for a live, no-filter look at the combatants preparing for battle on June 14. The venue, brimming with chrome, leather, and legacy, proved to be a fitting backdrop as rising boxing stars met with press and supporters just days before stepping into the ring.

The card’s featured title fight contestants—Rajon “Picasso” Chance and undefeated Yan Carlos “El Baka” Perez —stood face-to-face in a tense stare-down, previewing their can’t-miss Super Bantamweight NBA Title main event. Popular fan favorites, undefeated Harley Burke, a Yonkers Irish-American and his opponent, Bronx battler and FDNY’s Louis Maietta also faced off. Also in attendance were Dominican sensation Rodrigo Marte, alongside rising New York prospects Austin Cassese and Sharif One.

President & CEO of Star Boxing, Joe DeGuardia, emphasized the spirit of the event and its synergy with the venue:

“We are proud to collaborate with Harley-Davidson, a historic brand that has long represented freedom, strength, independence, and heart. That same spirit is at the core of boxing and what we do at Star Boxing.”

“We’re recreating the old-school magic on June 14,” said DeGuardia. “We’ve got 50/50 matchups like Chance vs. Perez and O’Rourke vs. Sylla, and local battles that make this card unique—Burke vs. Maietta is one of those gritty, Yonkers vs. Bronx, pride-on-the-line clashes you rarely see these days. These are real fights, not padded records, and that’s what boxing needs.”

Press Conference Quotes…

Rajon ‘Picasso’ Chance vs. Yan Carlos ‘El Baka’ Perez:

“This is going to be a great fight, and I’m ready to give you the best version of myself” Yan-Carlos Perez.

“I’m excited for this fight, and I’m very happy to be back under the bright lights. I like the Boxer vs. Puncher theme… there’s only one way to find out who can really punch, so I can’t wait until Saturday Night,” Rajon ‘Picasso’ Chance.

Harley Burke vs. Louis Maietta:

“Irish vs. Italian. Yonkers vs. Bronx. I think the fight sells itself…” Harley Burke.

“Look forward to Saturday! We’ll put on a Hell of a performance,” Lou Maietta.

Rodrigo Marte:

“I’m coming Saturday night for one more victory, and I’m going to get it,” Rodrigo Marte

Austin Cassese:

“This fight is going to end in a finish… Body shot, Knockout… Whatever it is, I’m coming to win,” Austin Cassese

Sharif One (Pro-Debut):

“I’m just ready to put on a show! When I get in that ring… I plan on Stompin’,” Sharif Onè

Kyle Hildebrand, General Manager, Empire Harley-Davidson:

“We’re excited about this partnership, and hoping to build on it for years to come. We’ll be there in full force on Saturday night… Saturday night is going to be a great thing!”

Ryan O’Rourke (Dublin, Ireland), Boubacar Sylla (Cincinnati, Ohio), Austin Spivey (Miami, Florida) and Eduardo Monrreal (El Paso, Texas) are flying into NY later this week and could not appear at the press conference.

King’s Promotions June 19th Card at Wind Creek Event Center is Postponed

Bethlehem, PA–King’s Promotions has POSTPONED the June 19th fight card at The Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem and will be rescheduled for Friday, September 5th.

The card was postponed due to injuries suffered by fighters that were scheduled for the card.

“Sometimes these things happen in boxing, but we already have the make-up date and many of the same fighters will be ready to perform on September 5th,” said Marshall Kauffman, CEO of King’s Promotions.

Fans who purchased tickets will be able to exchange the tickets for September 5th. A full card announcement will be released shortly.

King’s Promotions will be at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday night, June 27th. An announcement on that card will be out next week.

“Prospects Collide” Full Card Announced

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 4, 2025). The full card has been set for an outstanding boxing night that will take place on Saturday night, June 14 at The Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

The fight card, “Prospects Collide” is promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and is a testament to the old glory days of boxing.

“This card is a throwback to an era when fans could see neighborhood wars at venues like Sunnyside Gardens, St. Nicholas Arena, Ridgewood Grove Arena, & Madison Square Garden”. said Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. “It was a time when young up and comers would face each other. In the past, these arenas were filled with enthusiastic boxing fans and once upon a time the Westchester County Center was likewise a venue on the boxing tour where you could watch these hotly contested rivalries and future stars”.

“We are recreating this on June 14. We have 50/50 matchups in the title fight

between Chance against Perez, and the exciting O’Rourke vs Sylla battle.

Plus, we have the neighborhood battles like we have in Maietta against Burke. There

are not many cards like this today and I commend these fighters for stepping up, taking a risk, and not waiting for years to fight ‘real fights.’ This is great for fans and for fighters’ development as adversity makes better fighters. This is how you hone

character and ultimate rewards of even bigger fights down the line”.

The five-year pro, also known as ‘Picasso’, was a top US Amateur and holds a win over previously and draw Elon Dejesus.

O’Rourke, 26 of Dublin, Ireland spent the early part of his career fighting in Europe before coming stateside and racking up four wins in America, which was highlighted by a victory over Faycal Rezkalah (6-1).

Juna Diaz, Puerto Rico in a eight-round super bantamweight fight.

Austin Cassese vs. Eduardo Monreal…

Marist College graduate, Austin ‘All American’ Cassese (3-0, 3 KO) of Shrub Oak,

NY fights Eduardo Monreal (1-2, 1 KO) of El Paso, Texas in a four-round super

welterweight fight.

Sharif One (Pro-Debut)…

Sharif One of Bronx, NY makes his pro debut against Austin Spivey in a four-round

super welterweight bout.

This fight card is being thrown in conjunction & collaboration with Empire Harley Davidson.

Split-T Management Fighters Tyshawn Denson and Devon Young Advance in WBC Grand Prix Tournament

NEW YORK (April 23, 2025)–Split-T Management fighters Tyshawn Denson and Devon Young were impressive in advancing to the second round of the WBC Grand Prox Tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Denson won a six-round unanimous decision over Enoh Tettey Tettah of Ghana in their featherweight bout.

The 21-year-old Denson demonstrated supreme boxing ability and easily outpoint Tettah. Denson was one of the most impressive fighters in the opening phase of the 32-man tourney. Denson won by scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55.

With the win, Denson raised his undefeated record to 5-0. Tetteh is now 12-2.

“It was amazing. My first six-rounder. I was able to box and was able to push the pace. It was a good time. It is what I do best. It’s going to be hard to beat me and I am looking forward to it. This makes me hungrier. This is a great opportunity. and it gave me exposure to some new fans,” said Denson.

Denson, who is known as “The Candy Man”, was an eight-time National Amateur champion and trained by his father James. Besides boxing, the Akron, Ohio native is a full-time college student.

Young took out previously undefeated Pavlo Yuskiv in the second round.

The 27-year-old Young scored a knockdown in round one and continued the assault for the fight to be stopped just 11 seconds into round two after dropping Yuskiv with a series of right hands.

Young of Aiken, South Carolina is now 8-0 with seven knockouts. Yuskiv suffers his defeat and now is 6-1.

“I felt that I am the best heavyweight in the world going into the tournament. He was a great fighter, but I can do it all. I was just on a different level. It is a great experience. I have been overseas, I know I can do my thing and shine. One performance doesn’t make you too big. I have to go back to the drawing board and still get better with each fight and I will not be satisfied until they hold my hand up after the championship fight,” said Young.

“The Destroyer”, who is promoted by King’s Promotions, won numerous national titles including the Olympic Trials. He was the last man to defeat Olympic Silver medal winner and current undefeated heavyweight contender Richard Torrez. He is trained by his uncle, former pro fighter Terry Cade.

Kudos to HE Turki Alalshikh, Sela, Mauricio Sulaiman and the WBC for taking on a World Cup sized task. Organizing and staging a successful tournament featuring 128 participants is no small feat. They all deserve credit for, once again, helping the sport of boxing take another big step forward. Much thanks to them and all of the young boxers who trained so very hard for the WBC Grand Prix.
