Lomachenko-Pedraza and Dogboe-Navarrete will headline a special edition of Top Rank on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET, which will follow the 84th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Presentation.

“Put me among the best, and you’ll see the best of Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe,” Dogboe said. “We love the New York crowd. That’s what will motivate us and make us fight harder. Madison Square Garden is a legendary place. It’s a place where many fighters were made. Lomachenko and Pedraza are great fighters and being featured on a show with other great fighters is an honor. We are ready to roll. And to my fans, trust me, the ‘Royal Storm’ is coming to entertain!”

“Many boxers come and go like the common cold, but Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe is here to stay,” said Paul Dogboe, Isaac’s father and trainer. “This is it. New York, here we come!”

“This is the opportunity I was waiting for. I have a lot of respect for Isaac Dogboe, but this title will be mine,” Navarrete said. “I feel very happy and motivated by this opportunity, even more, because of fighting in New York City. I know that from Dec. 8 forward, the name Emanuel Navarrete will be known all around the world. I’m sure this win will be mine.”

Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs) has emerged in 2018 with a trio of victories that has him on the shortlist for Fighter of the Year honors. He opened his 2018 campaign Jan. 5 with a fifth-round TKO against Cesar Juarez to win the interim WBO world title. Dogboe dethroned world champion Jessie Magdaleno on April 28 in Philadelphia, recovering from a first-round knockdown to batter Magdaleno en route to an 11-round stoppage. In his first title defense, Aug. 25 in Glendale, Ariz., Dogboe knocked out the normally durable Hidenori Otake in the opening round.

Navarrete (25-1, 22 KOs), a 23-year-old from Mexico City, is one of the 122-pound division’s heaviest hitters. He has won 20 consecutive bouts since a four-round decision loss and is riding an eight-fight knockout streak. In his last bout, June 2 in Monterrey, Mexico, he knocked out Jose Sanmartin in the 12th round of a brutal battle.

DUBOIS: I’LL BE WATCHING GORMAN

DANIEL DUBOIS insists the time is getting closer for a showdown with arch domestic rival, Nathan Gorman.

A mouthwatering clash between two of the best heavyweight prospects in the world is one to look forward to.

Gorman’s trainer Ricky Hatton revealed earlier this week that his man is desperate to face his former sparring partner and GB amateur team-mate.

Dubois who has won all nine professional fights, eight by KO, is also keen adding: “Me and Gorman is a good a fight and I want to have that fight when the time is right.

“A few fights down the line we can have that fight, definitely. It sounds a great fight.

“I haven’t been keeping up with what he is saying about us fighting, but it seems the case is that he is talking it up.”

Hatton hoped that Dubois would be ringside at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday (October 20) to see unbeaten Gorman bid for his 14th consecutive professional win.

Instead Dubois will be tuned into BT Sport watching his biggest rival, right now.

The Londoner who is back in the gym on Monday following his win over Kevin Johnson earlier this month said: “I am having some time off just chilling at home.

“I will watch Gorman’s fight at home on Saturday night.”

Dubois was taken the distance for the first time in his career by former world title challenger Johnson in a great learning fight in Leicester against the American survivor.

“I was prepared for ten rounds and that is in the bank. It is another box ticked,” said 21-year-old Dubois

“I have done it. It is gruelling doing ten rounds and now we move on.

“I have just got to improve. There are things to work on when I go back in the gym and I also have to work on strategy.

“The biggest thing I learnt from the Johnson was that I have to stay focused for the whole round and be prepared for anything. He gave me a good workout.

“I could have been more focused and on it, but I never really switched off.”

Anthony Yarde will be headlining the Brentwood Centre on October 20th when he faces Argentinian Walter Gabriel Sequeira. World title challenger Gary Corcoran and Johnny Garton will contest the vacant British welterweight title. Zak Chelli and Umar Sadiq will both be putting their young, undefeated records on the line in a super-middleweight contest. Heavyweight Nathan Gorman will also feature along with IBF European Middleweight Champion Joe Mullender on the show televised live on BT Sport.

Remaining tickets are available at the Brentwood Centre box office or via calling the Queensberry Promotions Box Office on 01992845710.

O’Quinn Continues Climb Against Former World-Title Challenger Christian Esquivel on October 26 in Detroit

On Friday, October 26, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel, one of the most promising young fighters in Detroit’s resurgent boxing scene, undefeated bantamweight Ja’Rico “Great Lakes King” O’Quinn (9-0-1, 6 KOs), will return to action six-round bout against former world-title challenger Christian “Italiano” Esquivel of Mexico (30-15-1, 23 KOs).

O’Quinn, who was last seen taking out veteran Yaqub Kareem in four rounds last June in Detroit, enjoys immense popularity in his native Motown. As an amateur, he won the USA National Championship at bantamweight and the 2013 USA Boxing Youth National Championships.

Against Esquivel, however, he will be in tough. The Mexican veteran is a 12-year professional and a former NABF, WBC Continental Americas, WBC Youth Intercontinental, WBC FECOMBOX, and WBC Silver Bantamweight Champion.

“I’m happy to be fighting in Detroit in front of my hometown fans!” said an excited O’Quinn. “I look forward to scoring another impressive victory and putting Detroit on the map as one of the best fight cities in the world.”

O’Quinn’s promoter, Dmitriy Salita, says he’s expecting a lot from his 23-year-old prospect in this fight.

“Ja’Rico O’Quinn is one of the most accomplished US-born professional prospects in boxing right now. His undefeated professional record and numerous national amateur championships speak for themselves. He is taking on another stern test in a very experienced fighter in front of his hometown fans and I am sure it will be another spectacular performance.”

Tickets for the event are priced between $180-$25 and are available by calling 718.612.5207. The MotorCity Casino Hotel is located at 2901 Grand River in Detroit. On fight night, doors open at 6:30pm and the first bout begins at 7pm. All guests must be at least 21 years of age with valid photo ID.

DERECK ‘WAR’ CHISORA JOINS HAYEMAKER

his morning, Wednesday 17TH October 2018, David Haye, in a move that no one will have seen coming has officially signed an exclusive management deal with none other than old foe, Dereck ‘WAR’ Chisora, who will join the Hayemaker boxing stable.

The duo have also confirmed ‘Del Boy’ is no more. Under Haye’s complete guidance, Derek has overhauled his approach to his professional career. With London his hometown currently proving to be the epicentre of heavyweight boxing, Derek ‘WAR’ Chisora finally means business, this is WAR.

The two share a colourful and well documented history which began on a night of mayhem in Munich back in 2012. Following Dereck’s 1st bid for world honours, which saw him go 12 rounds against Vitali Klitschko, tempers flared at the post fight press conference culminating in a huge brawl between the Haye and Chisora camps. Fists flew, camera tripods were wielded and threats were issued. The torch paper to one of British boxing’s most notable rivalries was well and truly lit.

5 months and a bitter build up later saw the two men standing in opposite corners of the ring in front of a packed out crowd of nearly 40,000 at Upton Park football stadium. Billed as ‘Licensed to Thrill’ the fight did not disappoint. Haye stopped Derek inside of 5 rounds, the beef was squashed and replaced with the type of respect forged between warriors in the heat of battle.

Fast forward 6 years and Haye has now called time on his own professional boxing career during which, he navigated his way to world honours under the Hayemaker banner, a promotional entity of which David is CEO, promoting and co-promoting all of his last 6 Pay-Per-View shows. Haye, still just 38 years old already has proven success as a boxer, promoter and manager.

Derek ‘WAR’ Chisora has been knocking on the door of world titles for many years. When fully fit his cast iron chin and non-stop pressure is a problem for any heavyweight on the planet. Since that night at Upton Park, Chisora has blown hot and cold going 14-4 in his last 18 fights. Of late he has been in some exciting fights, most notably against Dillian Whyte in a fight of the year barn burner at the end of 2016 and most recently against Carlos Takam. The notoriously tough Cameroonian was looking to re-establish his place as a world title challenger following a 10th round controversial stoppage loss against Anthony Joshua. Chisora v Takam took place on July 28TH 2018 and after a slow start Dereck began to find his single shots landing in the middle of the fight. Against the grain of the fight Chisora landed a brutal right hand in the 8th round which sent Takam to the floor, the home crowd erupted in support for the London man. Takam managed to rise only for Derek send him immediately back to the canvas with a similar punch signalling the end of the fight, 2 rounds quicker than AJ had done it. With a new found focus and dedication Dereck is gearing up for another world title bid and believes that Haye is the man to guide him over the line stating,

‘He is one of very few managers who has themselves won world titles, he knows what it is like to step in the ring putting everything, including your life, on the line. I am at a point in my career I know I cannot afford to make mistakes. ‘Del Boy’ is no more, I am not playing, I am not cutting corners or looking for the short cuts, I have realised I need to live the life of a professional if I am to achieve what I know I am capable of… there will be no more late nights partying, drinking, getting distracted by stuff that will simply move me away from my dream. David has already built on my existing team of Don Charles and John Ramos bringing in the best in the field of S&C, nutrition and rehabilitation to support them. To all heavyweights out there who think Derek Chisora has had his time, missed his moment, you’re wrong, this is just the beginning, this is WAR.”

Haye expanded;

‘Derek is an immense talent, a true warrior. His most recent win again Carlos Takam sent shock waves around the boxing community – myself included – and a stark message to his fellow heavyweights. When Derek is focused, when he gets the work done and has the infrastructure around him he requires to perform he is not a boxer you can under estimate. Derek is dangerous and after a professional career spanning over a decade he is looking to scale the heights of the division, capturing world titles and I am looking forward to helping him achieve this”

This newly formed alliance could never had been anticipated, but is set to facilitate fight nights to get fans excited. Derek ‘WAR’ Chisora means business.

November 3: Marriaga and Conceicao Headline Berchelt-Roman Undercard in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (Oct. 16, 2018) — Miguel “The Scorpion” Marriaga has had two previous cracks at world championship glory, falling short against Oscar Valdez and Vasiliy Lomachenko. The Colombian puncher’s quest for a third title shot continues Saturday, Nov. 3, when he takes on Jose Estrella (20-14-1, 14 KOs) in an eight-round featherweight bout at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

Marriaga-Estrella will be the co-feature to the previously announced Miguel Berchelt-Miguel Roman super featherweight title bout and will stream live at 9:30 p.m ET. on ESPN+— the new multi-sport, direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer & International segment in conjunction with ESPN.

“I am excited to be back on a great card, and I look forward to winning impressively and getting back to world title contention,” Marriaga said. “There are a lot of great featherweights out there, and I am here to prove that I am one of them.”

Marriaga (26-3, 22 KOs) proved he belonged at the world-class level in 2017 with a pair of valiant efforts in championship bouts. He battled WBO featherweight champion Valdez, pushing the budding superstar en route to a competitive unanimous decision defeat. He then moved up four pounds to challenge pound-for-pound elite Lomachenko for the WBO junior lightweight title, losing via seventh-round TKO. He returned to action on May 12 in Colombia, knocking out Derlinson Buriel in the fourth round.

In other undercard action:

Saul “Neno” Rodriguez (21-0-1, 15 KOs) will return from a 20-month layoff to face Claudio Tapia (28-18-4, 13 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout.

Sagadat Rakhmankul (3-0, 1 KO), the Egis Klimas-managed prospect who is training out of the Boxing Laboratory in Oxnard, Calif., will fight Nicklaus Flaz (5-1, 4 KOs) in an eight-rounder at welterweight.

Janibek Alimkhanuly (3-0, 1 KO), also known as “Johnny 2 Guns”, will fight the talented Vaughn Alexander (12-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-rounder at super middleweight. Alimkhanuly last fought Sept. 28 and shut out Carlos Galvan over six rounds.

El Paso-born middleweight prospect Zach Prieto (3-0, 2 KOs) will fight Michael Andrews (1-2, 0 KOs) in a four-rounder.

Philadelphia native Paul Krool (1-0, 1 KOs) will look to make it two in a row against an opponent to be determined in a four-round welterweight bout.

Fan favorite Iaquinta (13-4-1, fighting out of Wantagh, N.Y.) is coming off an outstanding performance against current UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, after winning five fights in a row, four by way of KO. Barboza is excited to share the Octagon® with an opponent who will test his standup and aims to break back into the top five with another signature finish.

Former featherweight Hooker (18-7, fighting out of Auckland, New Zealand) has been undefeated since moving up to lightweight, winning four fights in a row with all ending before the final horn. Fans are excited to see how far Hooker can go in the stacked 155 pound division, having already taken out established veterans Ross Pearson, Jim Miller and Gilbert Burns. Hooker looks to prove himself ready for the top 10 by taking on the toughest test of his career.

RAGING BABE RETURNS TO CASINO DEL SOL WITH GUERRA DE GALLOS: JENSEN RAMIREZ VS. TOMAS VALDEZ

Tucson, Arizona – October 16, 2018 – On the heels of her sold out July 17th event at the award-winning Casino Del Sol Resort & Casino, Michelle Rosado’s Raging Babe returns to the same venue on Saturday, November 17th, when super featherweights Jensen Ramirez of Tucson, and Thomas Valdez of Nogales collide in the main event, outdoors at the AVA Amphitheater. Tucson’s Alfonso Olvera returns ahead of his anticipated rematch of his sensational bout with Wilberth Lopez on July’s card, and Tucson’s Christopher Gonzalez faces Nogales’ Judas Estrada in a four-round welterweight contest.

Main event fighters Jensen Ramirez (6-2-3, 1KO) and Thomas Valdez (16-4-2, 6KO), have both called Tucson home, but the similarities between the two end there.

Ramirez, 26, is an award-winning tattoo artist when he is not fighting. He defeated Sierra Vista’s Jesus Arevalo at Raging Babe’s July event, after a two-year layoff, earning a 6-round majority decision over the often-avoided Arevalo. If his bout with Arevalo was about redemption, his upcoming bout with Valdez is about showing Tucson, and all of Arizona, that he belongs in the mix with the top super featherweights in the state.

Valdez, 29, last fought December 1, 2017, when he scored a wide unanimous decision in an 8-round bout versus a far more experienced Daniel Valenzuela of Mexico. A hand injury has kept him on the shelf. Coming from a fighting family, Valdez is trained and managed by his uncle, Oscar Valdez, Sr., who also happens to be the father of WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez, Jr. Thomas Valdez will be fighting in Arizona for the first time since a 2013 six-round decision loss to undefeated prospect Victor Castro, of Phoenix, Arizona.

Both Valdez and Ramirez will walk into the ring on November 17th with something to prove – to Tucson boxing fans, and to themselves.

Tucson favorite Alfonso Olvera (10-5-1, 4KO) will make his return on November 17. Olvera has his sights set on an eventual rematch with Wilberth Lopez (23-9,15KO), but cannot afford to stumble along the way. The two thrilled the Guerro De Gallo crowd in the card’s main event in July, ending in a split decision that favored Lopez. The decision pleased some and disappointed others in the sold out crowd, and since the bout, both camps and fans who were in attendance that night have called for a rematch. For his part, Olvera has no intentions of looking past his November 17th opponent.

The Gonzalez-Estrada contest features two local prospects who had the fans on their feet during their separate July bouts at Guerra De Gallos. Estrada (1-1, 1 KO) lost that night to Jose Barrera, of Phoenix, but the split decision had the crowd in an uproar. Gonzalez also was in a tight one that night, earning a majority decision over Sergio Lopez.

“When fighters fight – when local fighters fight, and aren’t afraid to step into the ring with a friend, former sparring partner or a tough guy, you’re going to get great fights,” said Raging Babe President and Promoter Michelle Rosado. “That’s what I’m about and that’s what my events are about. Boxing is at its best when the fights are 50-50 fights, and when fans get their money’s worth, and they definitely did that on July card. This event is no different. Hats off to these guys for all being willing to step up and fight in their hometowns. Tucson, if you’re thirsty for good, live boxing, get ready for a tall drink of water on November 17th.”

Heavyweight Edgar Medina makes his professional debut, Manny Guajardo, Nick Rhoads, and Mike Martinez return, and Arturo Resendiz makes his US debut.

Tickets for Guerra De Gallos start at $25, and go on sale Thursday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Casino Del Sol gift shop, online at www.casinodelsol.com, or by calling 520-333-5150.

Raging Babe and Casino Del Sol will be hosting a press conference on at 2:00 p.m. on October 25, 2018. Press should apply now for credentials at www.ragingbabe.com/credentials.

FARMER: BRING ME ‘TANK’ AFTER TENNYSON

Tevin Farmer is targeting a mega fight with Gervonta Davis – but knows he must be on his guard as he defends his IBF World Featherweight title against James Tennyson at the TD Garden in Boston on Saturday night, live on DAZN.

Farmer (26-4-1 5KOs) makes the first defense of the crown he picked up in convincing fashion in August, flooring Australian Billy Dib in the ninth round of their clash in Sydney en-route to a landslide points win.

That win for the Philadelphia ace finally saw him reach the summit after a tumultuous journey to World title glory that saw a debut loss followed by further early career defeats, a shot hand and then receiving a rough decision in his first World title battle with Kenichi Ogawa in December, where his controversial split decision loss was then overturned to a no contest after the Japanese failed a drugs test.

Now the 28 year old has a World title around his waist, ‘American Idol’ is in no mood to let it go. Tennyson (22-0 18KOs) has more than earned his crack at the champ, but Farmer wants a statement victory in Boston to lead to a showdown with ‘Tank’ Davis, and believes his new set-up with DiBella Entertainment, Matchroom Boxing USA and DAZN can deliver that blockbuster clash.

“It’s beautiful to have this support and backing now from Lou, Eddie and DAZN,” said Farmer. “We can really talk our stuff now, I’ve got the big money behind me to make any fight. It feels so good to be told I am going to be busy. Three fights – I can’t go four months without fighting, that’s great.

“I have a big fight on Saturday and I’m not over-looking James. you don’t get to this level for no reason and I know he’s going to come to fight and try to beat me, but that’s not going to be easy – he needs to make sure he
brings his A-game.

“I want to fight Gervonta Davis. I have a title, I have a great contract, so I don’t need him – but I have to have that fight. There’s been a lot of talking but I am about handling business. We’ve talked enough, I want the fight so let’s make it happen.

“There’s no more ‘get a title’ talk, there’s millions of dollars in that fight and it can be made, it’s one of the biggest fights in boxing. I don’t have to chase anyone, I’m the money out there now, get your ticket and I’ll pick it.

“The best want to fight the best and it’s got to happen. I am a fighter, that’s all I want, let’s leave the streets on the streets and doing the fighting in the ring.”

Dmitry Bivol To Defend WBA Title Against Hard-Hitting Jean Pascal at the Etess Arena at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

(Atlantic City, NJ) – Dmitry Bivol will defend his WBA Light Heavyweight World Title against former Olympian and former WBC, IBO, and Ring Magazine champion Jean Pascal on Saturday, November 24, 2018 as boxing returns to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.

The event will be promoted by Main Events and World of Boxing, Bivol’s promoter, in association with Jean Pascal Promotions. The bout will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Bivol, age 27, of St. Petersburg Russia, risks his perfect record of 14 wins with no losses and 11 knockouts against the time-tested Pascal, who turns 36 on October 28, has 33 wins, 20 by knockout, against five losses and a draw.

Bivol is coming off a dominating 12-round decision victory over crafty Isaac Chilemba of Malawi on August 4. Pascal is fresh from an eighth round TKO over former UFC champion Steve Bosse at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec on July 20.

After storming through the amateur ranks, Bivol has quickly moved himself into position to take over the highly competitive light heavyweight division by facing top names and defeating them, one after the other. Bivol is open about his ambitious goals to fight all of the best opponents in the division, and to deliver entertaining fights in front of large audiences.

Bivol’s ultimate goal to unify the light heavyweight division: “It’s very important for me. It’s every boxer’s dream to be the champion, the unified champion. It’s a big step to dream about. Like (unified cruiserweight champion) Oleksandr Usyk.”

Although he has a humble nature, Bivol is sure about his abilities. “Not too long ago, Pascal fought for three world titles and I watched on TV. Now he wants to take my title away, and I am very happy to accept this challenge and look forward to my next title defense on HBO.”

Vadim Kornilov, Bivol’s manager, added, “We are looking forward to another great performance by Dmitry Bivol on November 24th. Jean Pascal is a name everyone has heard, and we look forward to a competitive fight with this great champion.”

Andrei Ryabinski of World of Boxing, Bivol’s promoter, said, “We are glad to be putting together another fight for Dmitry Bivol together with HBO, Main Events and the Hard Rock. Look forward to a great fight between Dmitry Bivol and Jean Pascal!”

“This is the most important fight of my life and I could not be more motivated,” said Pascal. “I’m making boxing history on November 24th. I’m known as a champion who never turned down any challenges, but I want to be two-time champion and I want to be immortalized in the Hall of Fame when my career is over. To fully cement my status as a hall of famer, I must win this fight and I will win this fight.

“Bivol is a very good fighter and a difficult challenge, but greatness has never been achieved without overcoming difficult challenges. My Canadian fans should be very excited because all of the light heavyweight belts will be in our house for Christmas this year,” promised Pascal.

Manager Greg Leon is equally confident. “In my opinion Bivol is the best light heavyweight champion in the world, so this is an extremely difficult challenge for us. However, Jean is fighting for the hall of fame, history and legacy. That coupled with the intangibles he possesses that cannot be taught make him the most dangerous fighter Bivol has ever faced by far.

“November 24th will provide Bivol with a couple of new experiences; he’ll be fighting in his first major main event and he’ll be suffering his first loss as a professional,” said Leon.

Main Events CEO Kathy Duva said, “Main Events could not be more excited to return to Atlantic City for our second card at the Hard Rock’s Etess Arena. Our first card there on August 4 was a sellout, and we expect to build on that momentum by bringing Dmitry back to be in the main event on November 24.”

“Following up on the success of last August’s fight between Alvarez and Kovalev, this will just be another step forward in Atlantic City’s return to professional boxing,” says Bernie Dillon, Vice President of Entertainment for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, “I’m thrilled that Hard Rock can be a big part of that.”

Sena Agbeko-Bryan Vera Headlines “Beatdown in the Boro” December 8

Nashville, TN (October 16, 2018) – Tri-Star Boxing Promotions will host Murfreesboro, TN’s first pro boxing card in more than a quarter century when they present “Beatdown in the Boro” Saturday, December 8 at The Mid-TN Expo Center.

Doors open at 6 pm and tickets for “Beatdown in the Boro” will be on sale shortly at Tristarboxing.com.

Headlining is an intriguing eight round super middleweight showdown between Nashville’s Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko and longtime contender Bryan Vera of Austin, TX.

Originally from Accra, Ghana, the heavy-handed Agbeko’s outstanding professional record is 21-1 with 18 wins by knockout. In March, Agbeko outpointed Lawrence Blakey in Nashville and made it known he was eager to take on tougher opposition. Since defeating Blakey, Agbeko’s spent time training with many of the world’s top fighters in Las Vegas.

Recognized as one of the toughest and most exciting fighters on the planet, Vera’s never backed down from a challenge. His professional ledger is 26-13 with 16 wins by knockout and he’s been on boxing’s biggest stage multiple times. Vera has two wins against former world champion Sergio Mora along with knockout victories over former titlists Sergiy Dzinziruk and Andy Lee.

The tough Texan also shared the squared circle with James Kirkland, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (twice), Willie Monroe Jr., Matt Korobov and Rocky Fielding among others. At 36, Vera looks to knock off Agbeko and have another run at the top.

“This is going to be the biggest fight for a local boxer in quite some time and it’s truly an honor to host the first fight card in more than a quarter century in my hometown,” said Matt Young, a Murfreesboro native and founder of Tri-Star Boxing. “Sena told us adamantly that he wants to step up the competition and Bryan Vera is the kind of opponent he was looking for. We’re expecting to see the best Sena Agbeko to date but he’s still in for a tough fight.”

Murfreesboro’s Rydell “Super” Mayes, 1-0 (1 KO), will face an opponent to be named in a four round heavyweight contest. A standout football player at Riverdale high school, Mayes scored an impressive knockout in his pro debut July 28.

Lightweight Austin “The Dream” Dulay looks to get back to his winning ways following his first career defeat when he faces an opponent to be named. Born and raised in Nashville, Dulay has an excellent 11-1 record with 8 victories by KO.

Popular Nashville native Eduardo “Chachi” Aguilar meets 15 fight veteran Carl Currie of Robbins, IL over four rounds. The two met July 28 and fought to a thrilling draw.

Unbeaten Memphis, TN based junior middleweight Mike Cook, 9-0 (4 KO’s), and heavyweight Dylan Courson, 2-1 (2 KO’s), of Rome, GA are slated to appear in separate bouts against opponents TBD.

Additional undercard fights will be announced shortly.

SKEETE: BRING IT ON GARY, BUT NOT FOR THE BRITISH

BRADLEY SKEETE IS quite prepared to entertain the prospect of sharing a ring with Gary Corcoran, but only if the stakes significantly increase.

Corcoran takes on Skeete stablemate Johnny Garton with the vacant British welterweight title on the line this Saturday at the Brentwood centre and the Penge man naturally hopes his friend emerges triumphant.

The Wembley marauder Corcoran has publically stated that he is seeking to complete a win-double over the Ibox Gym in Bromley by wishing to take out both Garton and Skeete.

However, should Corcoran leave with the treasured belt, Skeete insists he has no interest in going over old ground again at British title level, but would be interested with a bigger prize on the line.

“If it turns out to be Gary who succeeds me as British champion people have asked me if I would want to put it right on behalf of the gym?” revealed the 27-2 Skeete who returns to the ring at Brentwood after an unsuccessful tilt at the European title in April against Kerman Lejarraga. “Listen, I have got no problem with Gary – even though in interviews we have said a few things – and I don’t think he has got a problem with me.

“He is doing his thing and I am doing mine. We are in the same weight and a strong division, but I feel myself and Gary deserve to fight for a bigger title and bigger money than would be on offer for a domestic belt.

“I am sure, if he was to beat Johnny and I win a bigger belt, it can happen down the line and I am all up for the fight. It would be a great fight but I have no interest in fighting Gary for a domestic title. None whatsoever.

“It has got to be a meaningful belt, it will be my 30th fight on Saturday and I am at the business end of my career now. I want to secure my future with big fights and big money.”

Meanwhile, Skeete reflected that the wrench of dropping the British title that he won outright following three successful defences was eased by the fact he was clearing the path for his training partner Garton to realise his dream of fighting for the belt.

“My friend and stablemate Johnny Garton fights for my old British title on Saturday against Gary Corcoran and I think it is a really, really good fight.

“It made it so much easier vacating the belt knowing Johnny was next in line and I think it is a fight that everybody is talking about, a great domestic fight. I am looking forward to it.”

GORMAN BEGGING TRAINER FOR DUBOIS

RICKY HATTON has revealed that heavyweight hope Nathan Gorman is nagging him for a showdown with bitter rival Daniel Dubois.

Both men are promoted by Frank Warren and a clash between two of the divisions biggest prospects looks certain for the future.

Promoter Warren will be keen to match them inside 18 months and Hatton is also patient, but Gorman is on his trainer’s case pleading for the contest.

They sparred during their amateur days on the GB squad and British ring great Hatton revealed: “Nathan must hound me every week about fighting Daniel Dubois.

“He says he has sparred with him when they were on the GB squad and Nathan words, not mine are that he has ‘never lost a round to him.’

“He is itching for that, but I tell him he has got to give it time.

“We’re heading in the right direction with Frank. I have told Nathan don’t worry about Daniel – just concentrate on yourself, keep improving and adding to your fan base.

“He is a lovely kid, not arrogant. He just has confident in his own ability to what he can do if he gets the chance to fight Dubois.”

Gorman (13-0) is in action on Warren’s card at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday (Oct 20th) and hopes Dubois who lives nearby in London’s East End will be ringside.

Hatton added: “Believe you me he can’t wait to go to Brentwood which you could call Daniel’s back yard and put a show on.

“When Nathan and I fancy the fight it is not being disrespectful to Daniel. I don’t BS, tell tales or feel the need to publicise my fighter.

“Daniel showed a lot of improvement against Kevin Johnson – a good punch volume and stamina, but I’d be surprised if Johnson threw 50 punches in the fight and that is no exaggeration.

“You have to pat Daniel on the back and he showed improvement, but we’re up for the fight and it is now in the hands of Frank.”

CANELO ALVAREZ RECEIVES WBC MIDDLEWEIGHT WORLD TITLE AT MUSEO SOUMAYA IN MEXICO CITY

MEXICO CITY (Oct. 15, 2018): Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) received his WBC Middleweight World Title today at Museo Soumaya in Mexico City in recognition of his spectacular victory against Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in September. Canelo also received the Cinturon Chiapaneco and the Cinturon Huichol at this momentous event as he prepares to return to the ring. The 28-year-old WBC, WBA, Lineal and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion will take on WBA Super Middleweight World Champion Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) in a special 12-round super middleweight attraction on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Madison Square Garden.

Below is what today’s participants had to say at the belt presentation:

CANELO ALVAREZ, WBC, WBA, Lineal and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion:

“I want to thank everyone for their support during the good times and the bad. It was a tough year for me. I would never do anything to blemish my career, but I’m grateful to all those who were there with me. I’m going to represent the WBC from here on. They’ve been my family since the beginning. It’s a great responsibility to be a Mexican world champion. But I take that responsibility because I know I’m a determined and disciplined fighter. I honor every fighter who has fought at Madison Square Garden, but I’m going to make my own story. This is another chapter in my legacy.

JOSE “CHEPO” REYNOSO, Manager and Trainer of Canelo Alvarez:

“The past 13 years of Canelo Alvarez’s career has not been easy. It has been difficult. But when you have a lot of determination like he does, it makes the hard road that much easier. We completed the promise of making him a world champion because he completed his part of working hard. I thank everyone here and the sport of boxing.”

EDDY REYNOSO, Head Trainer and Manager of Canelo Alvarez:

“I’m grateful and thankful for all that Canelo Alvarez has achieved. I thank Mauricio Sulaiman and the WBC for their help. They’ve supported us all along the way. We’re proud of what he has accomplished, and we know there is more to come.”

ERIC GOMEZ, President of Golden Boy Promotions:

“We’ve worked with Canelo Alvarez since he was a very young prospect. He was hungry and determined to be great. To see him achieve that greatness is a wonderful thing to see. I congratulate him on this exciting day for him.”

MAURICIO SULAIMAN, President of the WBC:

“Canelo shut a lot of mouths in his last fight. He quieted a lot of critics who said he did not come forward. But in his last fight he showed with his fists and his aggression that he is the better fighter. Canelo is always first to raise the Mexican flag after a victory and yell Viva Mexico! I am so proud he is representing the WBC once again.”

ANDRADE: A WIN ON SATURDAY WILL SET ME UP TO RULE THE MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION

Demetrius Andrade believes that Middleweight is set to become the new ‘glamour division’ in boxing, and he’s ready to rule it as he prepares to face Walter Kautondokwa for the vacant WBO World title at TD Garden in Boston on Saturday night, live on DAZN.

Andrade (25-0 16KOs) can become a two-weight World ruler with victory over the unbeaten and big-punching Namibian Walter Kautondokwa (17-0 16KOs) for the WBO crown will set the Rhode Island star take his spot alongside the big guns at 160lbs.

‘Boo Boo’ welcomes ‘The Executioner’ to his New England backyard in his first fight with new promoter Eddie Hearn and new network in OTT-giants DAZN – and with more massive nights on the cards in 2019, the 30 year old heads into his big Boston night in a great place.

“My situation is great right now,” said Andrade. “Had I not made the move with Eddie, I would have been fighting in England, having tune-ups or waiting around still. I never needed tune-ups. I take every fight very seriously, I have since day one.

“I could have waited around and had tick overs, instead, this World title chance came along and we’re on the road to the top in another division already.

“I think Middleweight can be the new glamour division in boxing. We have big names at 160lbs and if you look at 154lbs, those guys are going to grow and they’ll have to come up – look at Jarrett Hurd, he’s a big dude. The division is hot and it’s going to get hotter.

“If everyone involved with the elite does their jobs, we can make these big fights. The window is starting to close on those fights though, people get old, people move on, and people look to run around and fight lesser guys like the Charlos do.

“I don’t look forward to those fights, I want to fight the best – only and often. When I was at 154, I had the belt and couldn’t get the big fights. We’re all going to make money – so let’s decide who is the best, and let’s get the elite in with the elite. Don’t get in with has-beens or the guys on the way out, get in with the hungry guys.

“I’m at 160lbs to show I am still the biggest and baddest wolf out there, and I’m ready to bite. I am too old to fight nobodies now, I’ve had that time, I’m not going to fight iron every time,

“When you are fighting lower level opponents you can afford to get in there four or five times a year, but at the level I want to operate at, you can’t do that. I’m going to take it one step at a time, do my job against Walter, come home with the belt and we will look to get out early in 2019 – I know Eddie and DAZN want to keep me active and that’s great, and if it’s going to be the rest of the elite guys, then let’s go.”

Andrade’s clash with Kautondokwa is part of a huge bill in Boston with three World title bouts on the slate.

Philadelphia’s Tevin Farmer makes the first defense of his IBF World Super-Featherweight title against hard-hitting Belfast man James Tennyson while Irish star Katie Taylor defends her WBA and IBF World Lightweight titles against Argentina’s Cindy Serrano.

Rhode Island’s Toka Kahn Cleary faces England’s Kid Galahad in a final eliminator for the IBF World Featherweight title, England’s all-action Tommy Coyle meets Quincy, Mass.’s Ryan Kielczweski over ten rounds, England’s Freddie Roach trained former World ruler Scott Quigg returns on the bill and Kazakhstan’s Olympic gold medal hero Daniyar Yeleussinov tastes action for the fourth time in the paid ranks.

Local favorite Mark DeLuca (Whitman, Mass.) is gunning for revenge when he meets Walter Wright in a rematch of their keenly fought clash in June that Wright edged via split decision, while there’s more Irish interest in Gorey Heavyweight Niall Kennedy and Tennyson’s fellow Belfast man Sean McComb.

Tickets for October 20 are on sale now from www.TDGarden.com

JJ METCALF VS LIAM WILLIAMS ADDED TO MANCHESTER SHOW

JJ Metcalf will defend his WBC International super-welterweight title against Liam Williams when they clash on December 22nd at the Manchester Arena on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s world title defence against Carl Frampton.

The two super-welterweights have made no secret of their dislike towards one another as they continue to exchange verbal punches on social media.

“It’s started off as a bit of banter but then the more we knew the fight was going to happen, the joking around had stopped and things just turned over night, it’s got to a point where I genuinely just want to punch his face in” said Welshman Williams.

Williams has strung together a couple of stoppage victories since his two defeats to former WBO world super-welterweight champion Liam Smith and says he is now ready to be back involved in the big fights.

“I’m really happy the fight has been made. I love being involved in competitive fights and you won’t find a better stage to be in a good fight.

“JJ [Metcalf] reminds me of when I fought Ronnie Heffron. He was supposed to be this serious pressure fighter, a lot of people raving about him and I made him retire sitting on his stool after six rounds and I think it’s going to be a similar story with JJ.”

‘Kid Shamrock’ JJ Metcalf has been in fantastic form and has been able to maintain his undefeated status with a string of good performances; most recently in June when he defeated the tough and experienced Spaniard, Aitor Nieto, stopping him in the twelfth round of their WBC International title fight.

The Liverpudlian is undefeated in eighteen fights with ten of them coming by way of knockout and is going into this contest full of confidence.

“I can’t wait for this fight. He seems to be a guy [Williams] that easily gets wound up and he’s ended up being very disrespectful towards me on social media.

“He was in with a great fighter like Liam Smith and he showed everyone he wasn’t good enough to beat him and it’s going to be the same story come December 22nd, he isn’t going to be good enough to beat me either.”

IBF world featherweight champion Josh Warrington takes on former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton at the Manchester Arena on December 22nd live on BT Sport Box Office.

Tickets are priced at £50 Upper Tier, £80 Tier, £100 Tier, £150 Tier, £200 Floor/Tier, £300 Floor, £400 Floor, £600 Inner Ring VIP Hospitality and are available.

Tickets available via Eventim and Ticketmaster .

TAYLOR: BOSTON CAN BECOME MY SECOND HOME

(Boston, Ma, Oct 15) Katie Taylor believes another show-stealing performance in her WBA and IBF World Lightweight title defense against Cindy Serrano at the TD Garden on Saturday night, live on DAZN can make her become a household name in Boston.

Taylor (10-0 5KOs) puts her titles on the line for the second time since picking the titles up in a war with Victoria Bustos in Brooklyn, New York in April, and her clash with Serrano (27-5-3 10KOs) marks Taylor’s third outing in America.

The 32 year old is sure to be a great hit with the Irish fans in Boston, and Taylor believes that taking over the Massachusetts capital and building a fan base to come back and unify the 135lbs division.

“I’m so excited about this fight,” said Taylor. “The fact it’s in Boston means it’s going to be like a home from home for me in there with all the Irish support.

“I love fighting in the US and this is a really big fight with a big name on a huge platform in Boston and on DAZN. These are the kinds of fights that I am in the sport for.

“It’s been an incredible journey so far. I am probably the highest paid female fighter in the World thanks to Eddie and Matchroom, I spoke to a lot of promoters before I spoke to Eddie and he really did have the same vision that I had.

“Eddie was as excited as me about the future, and now I have the chance to be a part of the new venture with DAZN too which is great for me. I am developing a fan base in the US as well as back home in Ireland and the UK, it’s such an exciting time for me and I am loving the pro game.”

Taylor’s clash with Serrano is part of a huge bill in Boston with three World title bouts on the slate.

Rhode Island’s Demetrius Andrade () aims for two-weight World glory as he faces big-punching unbeaten Namibian Walter Kautondokwa for the vacant WBO Middleweight title and Philadelphia’s Tevin Farmer makes the first defense of his IBF World Super-Featherweight title against hard-hitting Belfast man James Tennyson.

Everlast Worldwide and Clark partner to take ‘Protect Yourself at All Times’ global; educational symposium for fighters

NEW YORK, NY – Oct 16, 2018 – Everlast Worldwide, the world’s leading manufacturer, marketer and licensor of boxing, MMA and fitness equipment and Protect Yourself at All Times (PYaAT) creator, Adrian Clark are partnering up to introduce the first ever PYaAT symposium.

In nearly all major sports there are player associations or governing bodies that control contracts, agent fees, health benefits, retirement plans and even regulates athlete representation. Boxing remains the only major sport without an organized association, nor a system to help the athletes within the business of the sport.

“Partnering with Everlast Worldwide to push the issue on educating the fighters and protecting them outside of the ring is a genius move. It will provide PYaAT a global platform and longer reach. Education is key, no matter where you’re from. We will make sure the knowledge is available for the fighters.” Clark stated.

PYaAT breaks the mold of the fighters beginning; and navigating their careers in the dark. The symposium will serve as a continuing education tool for fighters and their families. Along with the symposium, PYaAT will be providing exclusive merchandise and issuing a monthly newsletter with updated information in the boxing business.

Protect Yourself at All Times will also be included in Everlast most recent worldwide ad campaign, “Be First”. Clark will join the likes of Heavyweight champ, Deontay Wilder, Dustin Poirier and Mikaela Mayer as trailblazers; not afraid to go against the grain and be the first to do, or start something.

“Everlast’s Be First global ad campaign is committed to showcasing and supporting individuals that break ground and find unique ways to reach their goals.” said Chris Zoller, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development for Everlast. “Not only is Adrian blazing a new path for himself but for boxers everywhere. We are 100% behind him and what PYaAT does for the sport of boxing.”

Everlast and Adrian Clark have been collaborating on educating fighters on the business of boxing since 2016. The PYaAT Symposium will be a continuation of a multi-year partnership between Everlast and Clark which included a best-selling book, podcast and documentary.

Clark ended by saying, “Everlast has supported the entire PYaAT campaign from the beginning. Us taking our partnership to another level helps me reach my goal to educate as many fighters as possible, all over the globe. This is game-changing for fighters.”

Ruben Villa (14-0, 5 KOs) Shines in Front of Hometown Fans on Saturday Night

PHILADELPHIA, PENN. / ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2018) – Featherweight Ruben Villa (14-0, 5 KOs) returned to his hometown for the second time in his career and delivered a thrilling, one-sided performance against the game Miguel Carrizoza (10-4, 2 KOs) Saturday night from a sold-out Storm House in Salinas, Calif.

Villa, 21, used terrific footwork to find the angles against Carrizoza in route to a sweep of the scorecards in the 8-round main event. Throughout the fight, Villa hammered Carrizoza with a stiff jab, followed by a thundering left hand. It was an outstanding display of accuracy for the southpaw in his fifth fight of the year.

“I felt great tonight,” said Villa, who is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “Everything was clicking. The guy was tough. I landed a lot of good shots and he came coming back. I’m very happy with my performance. I put on a great show for my hometown fans.”

Villa, who has been as active as possible since joining the professional ranks in 2016, looked as comfortable as he ever has.

“I’m gaining more and more confidence with each win,” Villa said. “I like where I’m at right now.”

GARTON: “CORCORAN IS MY TYPE OF FIGHTER”

JOHNNY GARTON ADMITS that Gary Corcoran is a man after his own heart.

The pair come together in combat on Saturday at the Brentwood Centre – live on BT Sport – with the British welterweight title at stake.

The 31-year-old from Peckham – known as ‘The Pexican’ – insists there is no animosity on his part heading into the clash against ‘The Hellraiser’ from Wembley and actually places on record his admiration for the world title challenger, who was stopped in 11 by Jeff Horn in Brisbane last December.

It is a no quarter asked or likely to be given sort of fight and, the thinking in training circles is, whoever listens most to the wise words in the corner is expected to have the edge.

However, Garton – who expects to be roared on by some 250 Pexicans – fully anticipates himself and Corcoran reverting to type before too long.

“My trainer has said that the one of me and Gary who listens most in the corner will win and I do believe Al (Smith) is right there,” considered the IBF European champion. “But this is going one way and me and Gary both know that no matter how technical we try and be, at some point in this fight we are going to stand in the middle and go at it.

“And I am more than happy to do that!

“Gary likes to come out fast and I am prepared for whatever, all I’ve worked for is a tough night and a tough 12 rounds. Gary is also super-fit and that is one thing we know for sure about him. He is also very strong and game, so we know we are going to do it tough.

“I’d say Gary will be the favourite in this fight and I think he deserves to be. He had a better amateur career, he’s boxed at a higher level than I have as a pro and he has boxed better names.

“I like Gary and I have no problems with him. At the end of the day he is just who I’ve got to fight and he is my type of fighter. He will fight anyone, he’s game and he comes forward. That is what I like in people.”

NATHAN AIMING TO BE SLIM-PLY THE BEST

NATHAN GORMAN will be slimmed down by trainer Ricky Hatton to help him add even more power to his armoury.

Heavyweight hope Gorman (13-0) goes for his fifth consecutive KO win at the Brentwood Centre, this Saturday night.

The 22-year-old might not be built like an Adonis, but he and Frank Warren stablemate Daniel Dubois are both winning plaudits and on a collision course to face each other.

British boxing great Hatton said: “Nathan’s power is developing because he’s maturing and more suited to the type of training we do.

“We have him doing a bit of strength work and we’re trying to slim him down a little bit.

“He is never going to be a body beautiful because some people aren’t built that way. We can’t all be built like Anthony Joshua or Daniel Dubois.

“But he is solid enough, Making him a little bit leaner and explosive will give him advantages. That is the theory behind that.

“He is also improving technically and punching with his whole body now. When he first came he was still a little bit of a rookie and arm punching.

“He is punching nastily and along with his speed and boxing ability which he is known for he is coming into his own.”

The Nantwich boxer has fought twice so far this year, and in June impressively beat good Irishman Sean Turner.

Hatton hopes that promoter Warren will find a spot for his protege on the Josh Warrington v Carl Frampton world title undercard in Manchester on December 22.

“Nathan had his career best win against Sean Turner, but we’re looking to move on from that and impress further,” added former two-weight world champion Hatton.

“He is still only a baby, but in his last fights showed what he is capable of and all about. He hasn’t even scraped the surface for what is to come.

“It looks like we’re having two fights before the end of the year and that will cap a lovely 2018 for us.”

Anthony Yarde will be headlining the Brentwood Centre on October 20th when he faces Argentinian Walter Gabriel Sequeira. World title challenger Gary Corcoran and ‘The Pexican’ Johnny Garton will contest the vacant British welterweight title. Zak Chelli and Umar Sadiq will both be putting their young, undefeated records on the line in a super-middleweight contest. Heavyweight Nathan Gorman will also feature on the show televised live on BT Sport.

Tickets are priced at £40, £100, £150 and are available to purchase from Ticketmaster.

HEFFRON CHALLENGES FOR BRITISH TITLE IN MANCHESTER

Undefeated Middleweight Mark Heffron will fight Jason Welborn for the British middleweight title in Manchester on December 22nd.

The fight will feature on the undercard of the eagerly awaited world title scrap between IBF Featherweight champion Josh Warrington and former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton, live on BT Sport Box Office.

Oldham’s Mark Heffron has racked up twenty-one victories as a professional with no loss to his name after eight years as a professional. The twenty-six-year-old will now have the opportunity to win the famous Lonsdale strap, a feat he believes he has always been destined to achieve.

“I’m over the moon this fight his happening, it makes a nice change that I haven’t had to chase this fight!” joked Heffron.

He continued: “I’ve always known I am good enough to be fighting at this level even before I turned pro. I will be training hard for this fight and I am very confident I can win.”

Heffron will be the challenger when he steps into the ring against the British champion Jason Welborn. The West Midlander won the British Title at the third attempt, losing to Frankie Gavin for the welterweight version and Liam Smith for the super-welterweight strap prior to his victory against Tommy Langford.

Welborn got the better of Langford once again in September to defend the title which he took away from him, both fighters showing us a repeat of their first encounter by going toe-to-toe in an all-out war.

After studying both of the Langford scraps, Heffron believes Welborn’s attacking mentally won’t do him any favours when the two fighter step into the ring.

“I feel very confident going into this fight. I have a lot of confidence in my own ability and my punching power. I’ll be training for a twelve-round fight, but I know this is going to be a knockout victory.”

YARDE PLANNING ANOTHER KO TO CELEBRATE BIG DEAL

ANTHONY YARDE insists that boxing will always be his first priority after signing a global deal with Adidas.

The unbeaten Ilford knockout artist has become a Global Brand Ambassador for the sportswear giants, but knows ring business must come first.

Yarde (16-0) hopes to mark the landmark deal with his 16th KO in 17 fights when he defends his WBO Inter-Continental Light-Heavyweight crown against Argentinian Walter Gabriel Sequeira (21-4) at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday October 20th.

Yarde said: “Boxing will always come first and never be overlooked.

“The Adidas deal is a good thing, but I have got my excitement for it out of the way even though it has just been announced.

“My only focus is winning on October 20th and delivering a spectacular performance – maybe an early knockout.

“I’ve just got to keep doing my job in the ring and everything else will fall into place. When you believe in something and work towards it anything can be achieved.”

Yarde’s Manager and trainer Tunde Ajayi brokered the Adidas arrangement through his company Stamina For Sale Ltd.

He said: “The last boxer to get an Adidas deal on this type of level was Prince Naseem Hamed and his arrangement wasn’t global.

“It shows the attention that Anthony is getting from boxing and mainstream sports fans.

“Adidas recognise his potential and the star quality he holds at this embryonic stage of his career.”

Yarde, 27, added: “It is a massive achievement and just the next step towards where I’m going in life. It can sky rocket what Tunde and myself are doing.

“The deal that we’ve done is me representing Adidas on a global scale so that makes it so much bigger.”

Terence Crawford: “There’s No Place Like Home”

OMAHA, Neb. (Oct. 11, 2018) – Following Wednesday’s media day tensions, Terence “Bud” Crawford and Jose Benavidez Jr. were a bit more civil at Thursday’s press conference. The trash talk led to an extended face-off, as pound-for-pound king Crawford (33-0, 24 KOs) readies to defend his WBO welterweight world title against Benavidez (27-0, 18 KOs) Saturday at the CHI Health Center Omaha (ESPN and ESPN Deportes, 10:30 p.m. ET).

In the 10-round co-feature, unbeaten featherweight sensation Shakur Stevenson (8-0, 4 KOs) will take on Viorel Simion (21-2, 9 KOs).

Terence Crawford

“This is my fourth time fighting in Omaha, and I’m happy to be back. Like I said, there’s no place like home.”

“He said we’re all bark but no bite. Come Saturday, he’s gonna find out how hard I bite. I ain’t even gotta do too much talking because I know what’s gonna happen come Saturday.”

Brian McIntyre (Crawford’s trainer/manager)

“I can’t say if they’re worthy or not, but I know for sure they ain’t ever been at this level before. For them to come into our city and talk all the trash they’ve been talking…. for them to talk all that trash they’re talking and not knowing what they’re getting into, two things I gotta say to that: I respect that because that’s total confidence, and you fuc*ed up, dude.”

Jose Benavidez Jr.

“It’s been a great camp. We’ve been {in Omaha} for three weeks. We’re training hard. You’re going to see a new champion Saturday night. I don’t see nothing special in Crawford. I don’t know why everyone is scared of him. Everyone is sleeping and soon they’re going to wake up and I’m going to beat his ass Saturday evening.”

“You guys ain’t scaring nobody. You best bring your A-game on Saturday because you’re going to get your ass beat. Guaranteed.”

“You better enjoy that belt because Saturday, that belt is going to be mine.”

On being shot in 2016 and the recovery

“Things happen in life, good and bad. I don’t try to use that as an excuse or anything. I know what I have to do, and the leg, I block it out. I just focus 110 percent. I know what we have to do. We train to win, and that’s what I am going to keep doing.”

Jose Benavidez Sr. (trainer of Benavidez Jr.)

“We’re here to show the world that we’re ready to make a big upset, and we’re going to take that belt and we’re going to represent the Mexican people, and like I said, the Hispanic people. We worked so hard.”

Bob Arum

“There are some matches that you particularly look forward to. This welterweight championship {featuring challenger} Jose Benavidez, who we started with when he was about 16 or 17 years of age… now, he has grown into a man. Terence Crawford, all of his fights or most of his fights we promoted, certainly in the last four or five years all of his fights. To see these two great warriors, Jose challenging and Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford defending, it’s, for me, a real honor and a privilege. It’s wonderful to be here.”

“The fighters are ready. This is going to be a spectacular event. We look forward to millions of people watching on ESPN.”

Shakur Stevenson

“I feel good and I had a great training camp with Terence. I’m excited. I’m ready to put on a show. This is my first time as a co-main event. This is a tough fighter I’m fighting against. I feel like the better the competition, the better I am.”

“I’m definitely hyped. I want to outdo Lee Selby and Scott Quigg {each of whom beat Simion by decision}.”

Viorel Simion

“I am very excited to be here and to fight for the first time in America. I was preparing for a show in Bulgaria on Oct. 27, but when I got this offer, I jumped at it. It’s not a problem for me. I fought in the co-main event of Joshua-Klitschko and lost a unanimous decision to a former world champion, Scott Quigg.”

ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET
