“Prospects Collide” Full Card Announced

WHITE PLAINS, NY (June 4, 2025). The full card has been set for an outstanding boxing night that will take place on Saturday night, June 14 at The Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

The fight card, “Prospects Collide” is promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and is a testament to the old glory days of boxing.

“This card is a throwback to an era when fans could see neighborhood wars at venues like Sunnyside Gardens, St. Nicholas Arena, Ridgewood Grove Arena, & Madison Square Garden”. said Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. “It was a time when young up and comers would face each other. In the past, these arenas were filled with enthusiastic boxing fans and once upon a time the Westchester County Center was likewise a venue on the boxing tour where you could watch these hotly contested rivalries and future stars”.

“We are recreating this on June 14. We have 50/50 matchups in the title fight

between Chance against Perez, and the exciting O’Rourke vs Sylla battle.

Plus, we have the neighborhood battles like we have in Maietta against Burke. There

are not many cards like this today and I commend these fighters for stepping up, taking a risk, and not waiting for years to fight ‘real fights.’ This is great for fans and for fighters’ development as adversity makes better fighters. This is how you hone

character and ultimate rewards of even bigger fights down the line”.

Rajon Chance vs. Yan Carlos Perez…

In a featured title fight, Rajon Chance takes on Yan Carlos Perez in a Super-Bantamweight bout scheduled for 10-rounds for the NBA Title. Rajon ‘Weezy’ Chance, 24, an accomplished slick boxer, has a record of 8-1-1 with four knockouts. The five-year pro, also known as ‘Picasso’, was a top US Amateur and holds a win over previously and draw Elon Dejesus. Chance’s only blemish was a highly controversial split decision loss to undefeated Travon Lawson. Chance faces the toughest fight of his career against knockout artist Yan Carlos Perez,

of the Dominican Republic. Perez, brings in an undefeated record of 6-0 with five

knockouts. The exciting banger already has wins over tough competition and already defeated New York’s Ronny Reyes (4-1) and Jose Santoya (6-1). He iIs coming off a first round stoppage over 38-fight veteran Merito Sabillo on May 3, 2025.

Ryan O’Rourke vs. Boubacar Sylla…

Another thrilling matchup features undefeated Ryan O’Rourke (12-0, 3 KO) of Dublin, Ireland against Boubacar Sylla (12-1, 7 KO) in a welterweight bout scheduled for eight-rounds. O’Rourke, 26 of Dublin, Ireland spent the early part of his career fighting in Europe before coming stateside and racking up four wins in America, which was highlighted by a victory over Faycal Rezkalah (6-1). Sylla of Cincinnatti is a nine-year pro, who holds a victory over previously undefeated Marlon Brown (7-0), and was a highly regarded amateur.

Harley Burke vs. Louis Maietta…

For locals, in perhaps the most highly anticipated fight of the night, Yonkers native Harley Burke risks his undefeated record (9-0, 7 KO’s), when he takes on tough Louis Maietta in a six-round super-middleweight fight.

Burke, has a knockout win over previously undefeated Raekwon Williams, and is coming off a unanimous decision over Tevin Terrance on November 23, 2024 in Huntington, New York, one of only two fights where the knockout artist has had to go the distance. FDNY Fireman, Louis Maietta of the Bronx, is 6-4-2 with two knockouts. The 30-year-old Maietta, is also a fan favorite and has developed well over the past year. He has won three straight and stopped Santiago Torra on January 26th in Colombia. Like Burke, Maietta is expected to bring a big contingency of fans. It will be the Yonkers vs Bronx, Irish vs Italian and Laborer vs Fireman. This fight is what epitomizes the glory days of local boxing when fans are just as vested outside the ring as the fighters are inside the ring.

Rodrigo Marte vs. Edwin Rodriguez…

Rodrigo Marte (6-0, 5 KO) of the Dominican Republic is being heralded as a star in

the making. Marte takes on tough veteran Edwin Rodriguez (12-9-2, 5 K0) of

Juna Diaz, Puerto Rico in a eight-round super bantamweight fight.

Austin Cassese vs. Eduardo Monreal…

Split-T Management Fighters Tyshawn Denson and Devon Young Advance in WBC Grand Prix Tournament

NEW YORK (April 23, 2025)–Split-T Management fighters Tyshawn Denson and Devon Young were impressive in advancing to the second round of the WBC Grand Prox Tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Denson won a six-round unanimous decision over Enoh Tettey Tettah of Ghana in their featherweight bout.

The 21-year-old Denson demonstrated supreme boxing ability and easily outpoint Tettah. Denson was one of the most impressive fighters in the opening phase of the 32-man tourney. Denson won by scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55.

With the win, Denson raised his undefeated record to 5-0. Tetteh is now 12-2.

“It was amazing. My first six-rounder. I was able to box and was able to push the pace. It was a good time. It is what I do best. It’s going to be hard to beat me and I am looking forward to it. This makes me hungrier. This is a great opportunity. and it gave me exposure to some new fans,” said Denson.

Denson, who is known as “The Candy Man”, was an eight-time National Amateur champion and trained by his father James. Besides boxing, the Akron, Ohio native is a full-time college student.

Young took out previously undefeated Pavlo Yuskiv in the second round.

The 27-year-old Young scored a knockdown in round one and continued the assault for the fight to be stopped just 11 seconds into round two after dropping Yuskiv with a series of right hands.

Young of Aiken, South Carolina is now 8-0 with seven knockouts. Yuskiv suffers his defeat and now is 6-1.

“I felt that I am the best heavyweight in the world going into the tournament. He was a great fighter, but I can do it all. I was just on a different level. It is a great experience. I have been overseas, I know I can do my thing and shine. One performance doesn’t make you too big. I have to go back to the drawing board and still get better with each fight and I will not be satisfied until they hold my hand up after the championship fight,” said Young.

“The Destroyer”, who is promoted by King’s Promotions, won numerous national titles including the Olympic Trials. He was the last man to defeat Olympic Silver medal winner and current undefeated heavyweight contender Richard Torrez. He is trained by his uncle, former pro fighter Terry Cade.

Kudos to HE Turki Alalshikh, Sela, Mauricio Sulaiman and the WBC for taking on a World Cup sized task. Organizing and staging a successful tournament featuring 128 participants is no small feat. They all deserve credit for, once again, helping the sport of boxing take another big step forward. Much thanks to them and all of the young boxers who trained so very hard for the WBC Grand Prix.

“I am excited to make the switch to the paid ranks, my goal is to become a world champion as a professional, just as I was in the amateurs. I am coming for everyone. I want all the belts,” said Ellis.

Ellis was affected by a controversial scoring in the amateurs, especially during her controversial loss at the Tokyo Olympics to Caroline Dubois.

“I am not planning to let many fights to go the

distance. There is no more headgear to save you all,” concluded Rashida Ellis.

Ellis will be the third Olympian who is guided by Petrov. He also manages the careers of fellow Tokyo Olympian Euri Cedeño and also Cristian Pinales who won bronze medal at the Paris Olympics last summer.

“Rashida is amazing and I am extremely delighted to have signed her. I watched her beat the best of the best over the years in the amateurs. She can win a world title in the professional ranks within 3 fights, she is that good and special,” – said Petrov.

Ellis holds wins over the current IBF World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Beatriz Ferreira, she also holds wins over another Olympic silver medalist in Wenlu Yang.

“Shida is currently a promotional free agent as we are exploring our options,” – added Petrov.

Rashida Ellis, who is trained by former team USA Olympic coach, Jeff Mays in San Antonio.

She is scheduled to make her professional debut on a Red Owl Boxing card in June. The event will be broadcasted worldwide on DAZN.

“We are thrilled to have Rashida on the platform. She is one of my favorite fighters and it’s an honor for us to have her make her professional debut on Red Owl Boxing and DAZN,” said James Bartley of Red Owl Boxing.

Langer, who recently signed with Jeter Promotions, is coming off a fourth round stoppage over Sean Schultz on March 1st at Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland.

“He was tough and bigger. He was coming down in weight. I am a natural cruiserweight. He was one of the strongest guys that I have fought. He took a lot of my big shots. He came to win, but. my experience and skill took over. It was a fight that I needed to see where I am,” said Langer

Langer began boxing just nine years ago after a friend of his mother encouraged him to go to the gym.

Tyler amassed a record of 40-10 in the amateur ranks. “I had a hard life growing up. I joined the gym and had success. I was not able to travel for bigger competitions as we were not able to raise enough money to compete,” said Langer.

It feels amazing that Tony Jeter believes in me the way he does. I know what I am worth, other promoters never gave that. Tony does that. He knows that I want more rounds and undefeated opponents to lead towards belt fights.”

On keeping a busy schedule for the rest of 2025, Langer feels that it is a great opportunity to get exposure and on the radar of some of the fighters that are currently ranked high at cruiserweight.

“As a team, I love being active. I am always in the gym. It keeps my mind goal oriented and I have something to work for.”

I know I could have at least four dates, plus a couple other fights could come up, So i would not be surprised if am 8 or 9-0 at the end of the year.

“I want everyone to believe in me and I will put the Mack Lewis Gym back on the map.”

March 22 fight card at Tropicana Atlantic City has strong local flavor

ATLANTIC CITY (March 13, 2025)–Atlantic City’s rich boxing heritage continues to build on Saturday, March 22, as the Tropicana Atlantic City hosts an electrifying night of fights, with doors opening to the public at 6:30 PM. Presented by Boxing Insider Promotions, this event—the fourth at the venue—showcases six New Jersey boxers in a thrilling card broadcast live on DAZN.

Leading the charge is “Mr. Atlantic City,” unbeaten junior middleweight Justin Figueroa (11-0, 9 KOs), who’ll be appearing for the fourth time on a Boxing Insider show. He’ll oppose Argentina’s Mario “El Torito” Rios (10-3-1, 7 KOs) in a six-round clash. Rios has lost only to unbeaten foes, and he’s gone a lot of rounds in his career, so stamina shouldn’t be a problem for him.

Figueroa, who continues to climb up the ranks, stopped Omar Rosales in four rounds in his last fight, at the Trop, in November.

Atlantic City heavyweight Bruce Seldon Jr. would like for history to repeat itself. He is the son of Bruce Seldon, the city’s only world heavyweight champion, and he puts his unbeaten record (4-0, 3 KO’s) on the line.

He is, of course, the son of the city’s first world heavyweight champion, Bruce Seldon, and is rapidly developing his skills and a big fan following. On the March 22 show, he’ll tackle Gabriel Costa, who’ll be taking a three-fight win streak into the ring.

Junior middleweight Damian Tinnerello of Berlin, NJ (4-0, 4 KOs), has a lot of national tournament experience as an amateur, including an appearance in the finals of the 2020 USA Youth National Championships. He’ll be aiming for his fifth straight knockout in a scheduled four-rounder.

Also slated for four-rounds is a former amateur star with the same record, who happens to be another New Jersey product.

Multiple national champion Kahshad Elliott (4-0, 4 KOs) of Plainfield, NJ comes to Atlantic City for the first time, and he’s going to be showcased in a four-round welterweight bout.

Julio Sanchez III, who hails from nearby Pleasantville, is coming off his last amateur bout, which took place at the Tropicana Atlantic City in November. And now he’ll make his professional debut in the lightweight division, taking on Douglas Diggs in a four-rounder. He is looking to continue a legacy, as his father Julio Sanchez, a local firefighter, competed as a pro welterweight.

The ten-round main event brings an international touch to the festivities.

Vlad Panin (21-1, 13 KOs) is originally from Belarus but has fought all but one of his bouts in the United States. Notable among his victories is a second-round TKO of former world welterweight and junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander, which took place last May. Panin is currently ranked #6 by the United States Boxing Association in the junior middleweight class.

His opponent on March 22 is Brian Arregui, who lost fights by majority decision and split decision in his last two outings. Arregui, who at one time was the WBO Youth champion at 154 pounds, competed for his native Argentina in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Promoter Larry Goldberg and Boxing Insider Promotions are really breathing life into Atlantic City’s boxing scene, and they reinforce that with this stacked lineup.

Tickets are on sale now at [Ticketmaster](https://www.ticketmaster.com/boxing-insider-live-professional-boxing-atlan).

Don’t miss this unforgettable night at the Tropicana Showroom on March 22!
