Two-time CageSport SFL America Champion Erosa to appear on TUF 22 Finale

TACOMA, Wash. – Yakima’s Julian Erosa, a two-time CageSport Super Fight League America champion, will appear on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale tonight at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Erosa (14-2) will face Poland’s Marcin Wrzosek (10-2) in a featherweight bout on the undercard.

“It’s been an incredible experience,” the 25-year-old Erosa said about appearing on TUF 22. “Having fought primarily for CageSport and Super Fight League made it an easy transition. I think a lot of fighters coming in to a situation like this could feel overwhelmed by everything, but I really felt prepared for it all.”

The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale — which will air on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT – will be headlined by a featherweight clash between Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes. Artem Lobov and Ryan Hall will meet in the TUF 22 finals.

The official weigh-in for The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale took place on Thursday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Both Erosa and Wrzosek tipped the scales at 155 pounds.

Erosa, who has fought 14 times on a CageSport/Super Fight League event during his professional career, was one of 32 lightweight fighters selected by the UFC to compete in qualifying fights to enter the show. After defeating Jason Soares in the preliminary round, Erosa joined Urijah Faber’s nine-member United States team, which battled current UFC Interim Featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s team of European fighters during the series.

Erosa advanced to the quarterfinals with a majority decision over France’s Mehdi Baghdad then defeated Spain’s Abner Lloveras by split decision to move on to the show’s final four competitors before losing to Lobov in the semifinals.

Starting his professional career with a perfect 9-0 record, Erosa’s first loss came at the hands of former two-division CageSport champion, Drew Brokenshire. Five fights later, Erosa captured the SFL America lightweight championship, defeating Harrison Bevens with a second-round KO on Dec. 13, 2014.

He received his highly-anticipated rematch with Brokenshire on Feb. 21 for the SFL America Featherweight title, this time ending up in the winner’s circle after submitting Brokenshire in the third round.

“The goal for every fighter is to make it to the UFC,” Erosa said. “There’s a lot of talent coming out of the Northwest. The UFC knows this. (Current UFC fighters) Sam Sicilia and Julianna Pena both fought for CageSport before moving on to the UFC. There’s actually been a lot of fighters take that path. I’m determined to be the next on that list.”

RIZIN FF: Three New Bouts Announced For New Year’s Kick-Off Event

TOKYO – December 10, 2015 – RIZIN FF, the all-new fight promotion led by former PRIDE FC head Nobuyuki Sakakibara, announced at a press conference today, three additional, star-studded bouts – two that will be contested under Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) rules and one that will be contested under mixed rules – for its highly-anticipated, three-day kick-off event, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Saitama Super Arena.

Bellator knockout artist Brennan “Irish” Ward will square off with undefeated Japanese prospect Ken Hasegawa in a heavyweight MMA rules bout on Dec. 31.

R.I.S.E. champion and K-1 standout Hinata Watanabe will battle Kazuyuki Miyata in a lightweight (155 pounds) mixed rules matchup on Dec. 29, that will be comprised of one or more rounds in which the fighters compete exclusively under kickboxing rules, and one or more rounds in which they fight exclusively under MMA rules. A more specific format for this bout will be announced soon.

Following a five-year hiatus from the ring, one-time, fast-rising prospect Kirill Sidelnikov will return to the squared circle to face off with Carlos Toyota on Dec. 29.

Brennan Ward vs. Ken Hasegawa

Ward (12-3 MMA) of Waterford, Conn.is riding a three-fight win streak, finishing all of his last three opponents in the first round by way of KO or submission. The 27-year-old power puncher and Bellator season nine middleweight (185 pounds) tournament champion is a former NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships runner-up and All-American for Johnson & Wales University.

Hasegawa (10-0-1 MMA) of Kanagawa, Japan is the number three ranked middleweight who will make his second start of 2015, following a first round (4:10) submission (keylock) victory over Ryuta Sakurai on February 28. The 28-year-old secured his first title, the Deep megaton crown, on February 16, 2013 after defeating Seigo Mizuguchi by way of unanimous decision in the championship stage of a four-man tournament that spanned two events.

Hinata Watanabe vs. Kazuyuki Miyata

The 29-year-old Watanabe (33-15-1, 11 KO’s kickboxing) of Hiratsuka, Japan is a two-time kickboxing champion who has earned titles under both the R.I.S.E. and REBELS promotional banners in his native country. Watanabe shocked the world on October 26, 2009, defeating decorated, multiple time world champion Mike Zambidis by way of unanimous decision in a Superfight at the K-1 World Max 2009 Final in Yokohama, Japan.

Miyata (14-9 MMA) of Tokyo will enter the ring for the first time this year and look to notch his fourth straight win after submitting Askar Umbetov with an arm-triangle choke in the second round (1:26) of action on December 23, 2014. The 39-year-old Miyata has battled elite level adversaries including superstar Tatsuya Kawajiri and Caol Uno, whom Miyata defeated by way of unanimous decision on December 31, 2010.

Kirill Sidelnikov vs. Carlos Toyota

Once regarded as the second coming of all-time great Fedor Emelianenko, of whom he was a training partner, the 27-year-old Sidelnikov (7-4) of Stary Oskol, Russia is a master practitioner of Sambo. In his last start on November 19, 2010, he earned a unanimous decision over Vladimir Kuchenko.

Toyota (6-7 MMA) of Brazil will look to return to the win column following a second round (5:00) TKO (corner stoppage) defeat at the hands of Jaideep Singh on October 17 that snapped a three-fight win streak. One fight prior to the loss, Toyota had notched his career best victory, scoring a first round (1:29) KO (punch) on 7-foot-2, 350-pound goliath Hong Man Choi on July 25.

SHOOT BOXING RULES TO PRESIDE OVER AKEBONO VS. SAPP II ON NEW YEAR’S EVE; “KING MO” TO FACE BRETT MCDERMOTT IN EIGHT-MAN GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT

TOKYO, JAPAN – December 9, 2015 – RIZIN FF officials announced today that the highly anticipated rematch between Akebono and Bob Sapp will be contested under Shoot Boxing rules on Thursday, Dec. 31, and that BAMMA fighter Brett McDermott has been named the new opponent for “King Mo” Lawal in the eight-man heavyweight Grand Prix elimination tournament, following the withdrawal of BAMMA champion Mark Godbeer last week due to injury.

In K-1 rules action, it was announced that Hiroya Kawabe will face striking phenom Akiyo “Wicky” Nishiura on Tuesday, Dec. 29, and Takeru Segawa will square off with Chinese Muay Thai champion Yang Ming on December 31.
Shoot Boxing founder and CEO, Cezar Takeshi joined RIZIN FF Chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara, General Manager Nobuhiko Takada, Sapp, Akebono, Segawa, and producer Kensaku Maeda at a press conference in Tokyo to make the announcements.

“I have been seeking advice about what rules the highly anticipated rematch should be held under, and Mr. Cezar introduced me to the idea where both fighters will be able to maximize their potential,” said Sakakibara.

“The new K-1,” continued Sakakibara, “has become popular in such a rapid rate, and I am happy that they are going to be sending their top, young talent to our ring. We would like to match both K-1 representatives up with tough opponents.”

Sakakibara also mentioned that Nam Jin Jo has injured his knee during training and was forced to withdraw, so Felipe Efrain from Shoot Boxe Academy will be facing Yuki Motoya.

Sakakibara closed his announcement by describing the details of the three-day, free-of-charge fight expo, which will begin on December 29, and include amateur MMA bouts and an open grappling tournament.

The rematch between Akebono and Sapp and the bout between Segawa and Ming join matchups between Yuichiro Nagashima and Andy Souwer, and Asen Yamamoto and Kron Gracie on December 31st.

Comments:

Bob Sapp:

“It has been a while since I last fought on NYE, and very excited. And to be facing my nemesis once again. Last time we fought, we made history, and that was a great honor. I would like to aim for making history again, and I assure you it will be an exciting fight.”

Akebono:

“I have been living with grief and defeat for the past 12 years. I have carried a thought of redemption deep inside and got the offer at the perfect timing. I never want to have to feel that way again, so I want everybody to come watch the new Akebono. I’m going in there for the win.”

Takeru Segawa:

“I was frustrated because I wanted to fight more this year, but I’m glad for this perfect opportunity. There are many MMA fights on the card, but I would like to show that K-1 fights are the most exciting. I want everybody to be talking about the lightest fighter’s being the most exciting out of all RIZIN fights.”

RIZIN FF General Manager Nobuhiko Takada:

“I am just too excited. One of the reasons is that the fight card is near complete, but more so because of the fact that we will be able to kick of our event on the day where people watch television the most. It needs to be a festivity. We put together various fights for a wide audience. We would like to continue to promote the greatness of this event.”

Takada continued in describing each fighter. “Hiroya has the looks and the skills who reigns as the top fighter in K-1. I can see why he has many female fans. But once the bell rings, he shows his aggressiveness and power. It is always irritating when you know very little about your opponent, but he is determined to show the greatness of K-1 regardless of his opponent.”

He continued on about the legendary fight, “The ratings for that fight was unreal. And that same fight will be coming back. There are many opinions about this fight, but that is what makes it so exciting. Many fighters will be motivated to gather all the attention which will lead to better performance. This fight has many meanings behind it.” Takada added,” If Akebono wins, maybe next year?” and teased everybody about a possible rubber match. Takada announced that Cezar Takeshi was assigned as the referee for this fight and asked him not to trip during the fight.

CHAMPIONS’ QUOTES OF NOTE

2015 WMMAA Bantamweight Champion Bakhachali Bakhachali:
“It was a wonderful experience. You know it was a long road. I’m so glad it’s over and I was successful in reaching all the goals I had set. The final fight was very hard, my opponent was a serious test for me. He’s physically strong and determined. But thanks God I got the victory.

“The next step is of course the Russian MMA SuperCup. I hope God will help me win it.
I’d like to say thank you to my coaches: Rasul Magomed-Aliev, Abdulla Gaidarbekov. Thanks to Shamil Alibatyrov who was cornering me throughout the whole championship and helped me a lot.”

2015 WMMAA Featherweight Champion Magomed Yunusilau:
“Extreme happiness. First of all, I was not sure I would be able to participate because of injuries, but my coaches, friends and family helped me gather physically and mentally. I flew to Prague and got the best possible result.

“I had four fights. The first one (1/8) went the distance. My opponent, from Colombia, was really determined, he would not give up. It was a hard-fought battle. In my other fights I finished all three opponents.

“First, I need to heal my injuries; it’s revalidation time. I’ll take a break for the first post-World Championship week and then I’ll focus on my health. I have issues with my back and one knee. And then, God bless, I’ll get back in business within 2-3 months. I intend to transfer to professional MMA competition. We have great coaches and the team that are highly qualified and able to facilitate in my transition. I’m sure I’ll be OK.”

2015 WMMAA Lightweight Champion Gadzhi Rabadanov:
“I’m extremely happy. It’s such a nice feeling to make your friends and family happy. I’m really grateful for all support I got from them.

“I had four fights in total and I finished all of my opponents. I can’t say which one was harder, everyone in front of me was quite good in his own right.

“If I look back, I’ve had five full training camps this year. Now, it’s time for a break from competition. I need to heal my wounds, rest and then return as a different fighter. There is enough room for improvement. I know I had one more fight planned at the Russian MMA SuperCup in December but I’ll have to cancel it because of my knee injury. Moreover it’s rather hard to make weight twice within a 10-day frame. It would be to the detriment of my health under these circumstances. Sorry, everyone who was hoping to watch me fight in Chelyabinsk (Russia – wmmaa.org) come December 5.”

2015 WMMAA Welterweight Champion Gadzhimurad Khiramagomedov:
“I can’t describe my feelings right now. It has been a long road. Two years ago, me and my brother, (Gamzat Khiramagomedov – wmmaa.org) set our sights on the World Championship. And here we are – both champions. I’m so happy.

“I really need to repair my body before planning anything else. My hand and foot are broken. One ligament is torn on my left leg. I need time to heal and then we’ll see.”

2015 WMMAA Middleweight Champion Gamzat Khiramagomedov:
“This experience is the best possible. After all work that I had done it’s time to catch a breath for a little while. Still, I’m not going to relax on my laurels. I have a fight scheduled at the SuperCup against Gamazan Gamzatov. After that fight I’ll be able to rest normally.

“At the World Championship I had four bouts. Assessing my opponents, I can say they were all good fighters. The hardest battle I had was against a warrior from Georgia. He would not give up; extremely powerful and good wrestler. I injured my left arm that’s why I couldn’t show my best in the finals. However, I’m so happy I made my people smile, especially my brother, Gadzhimurad, who puts a lot of effort into helping me. He’s always happier than me when I win. He’s my biggest fan.”

2015 WMMA Light Heavyweight Champion Magomed Ankalaev:
“My feelings are the best possible. Gold in this amateur MMA World Championship had been my target for a long time.

“I had five fights and the final one was the most difficult for me. I felt huge responsibility because it was up to me whether or not the Russian flag would be flying that high. Thank God, I was able to achieve that.

“I plan to take part in the Russian MMA SuperCup. After that, I’ll take a rest that, I believe, I’ll have fully deserved.”

2015 WMMA Heavyweight Champion Zaur Gadzhibabaev:
“A lot was at stake in the finals since my opponent, Mokhmad Sulimanov, wanted to avenge his loss from last year’s WMMAA World Championship. I’m glad I prevailed again.

“I’m honored to be the first two-time WMMAA champion. The competitors in my division were outstanding this year. I trained very hard to give my best and I’m very happy with my performances during the tournament.”

LOWEN TYNANES DEFEATS RASUL YAKHYAEV AT ONE: KINGDOM OF KHMER

5 December 2015 – Phnom Penh, Cambodia: The largest sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), delivered another evening of world-class mixed martial arts action to an arena packed full with raucous fight fans. ONE: KINGDOM OF KHMER made a successful return to the Koh Pich Theatre to feature ten thrilling bouts, capped off by a spectacular main event that had fans on the very edge of their seats. In the main event, Lowen Tynanes defeated opponent Rasul Yakhyaev by Rear Naked Choke to stamp his claim as one of the best lightweight talents in ONE.

In the main event of the evening, Lowen Tynanes of Ewa Beach, Hawaii scored a third-round submission victory over Russia’s Rasul Yakhyaev to extend his unbeaten streak to eight wins and no losses. The first round had the fighters sizing each other up with various grappling moves. In side control, Tynanes started to connect with overhand rights. A testy second round witnessed increased striking rates and ended with the Hawaiian landing a couple of well-timed kicks to a downed Yakhyaev. Tynanes then took full control of the third, utilizing his wrestling and grappling technique to subdue the Russian on the ground, sinking in a deep choke to force the tap.

In the co-main event, Malaysia’s Gianni Subba improved his MMA record with a split decision win over Thailand’s Anatpong Bunrad in a flyweight match that never once went to the ground. Subba showed icy composure as he weathered a storm of kicks from Bunrad and landed a series of highly accurate punches and elbows that had Bunrad’s nose bleeding heavily from the second round. In the end, Subba did just enough to earn the judges’ nod, moving him closer to a title shot.
Indonesia’s Mario Satya Wirawan made ONE Championship history, scoring the fastest knockout ever recorded after dispatching Cambodia’s Chan Heng in just 6 seconds of their bantamweight bout. Wirawan’s very first punch put Chan on his back, and the follow-up head kick gave referee Olivier Coste no option but to call a halt to the bout contest.

Cambodian judo expert Meas Meu collected another impressive victory in the ONE Cage with a first-round TKO stoppage of bantamweight Chan Sam Art. Meas started out hard and fast to stagger his rival, at one point picking Chan up and dumping him onto the canvas before dominating the ground exchange with a barrage of blows. The referee jumped in to wave off the contest shortly after.

Sim Bunsrun battled through adversity in an energetic flyweight clash against fellow Cambodian, Khon Sichan. Both fighters’ striking skills were in full display early on, but as the fight went to ground, Bunsrun started to connect with heavy elbows. With Sichan starting to lose control of the match, Bunsrun moved to secure an armbar submission, forcing the tap out with just five seconds remaining in the first round.

Indian female atomweight Jeet Toshi earned a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Cambodia’s Tharoth Sam. Toshi came close to a finish in the first round through strikes and an armbar submission, but ‘Little Frog’ Tharoth escaped to bring the crowd to their feet with an inspirational comeback in the subsequent round. Toshi controlled the ground game well in the third, with Tharoth barely making it through to the final bell.

Cambodian fighters Sor Sey and Chim Chetra put on a superb show in their featherweight battle that saw them go all out from the opening bell. An explosive first round had both men connecting with hard fists, elbows and knees throughout. The high intensity was matched in the second, as Sor Sey began to exert dominance on the ground, moving to top position and forcing a referee stoppage due to strikes just over a minute into the round.

Veteran Kun Khmer fighter Mission Ali went up against the youthful tenacity of fellow Cambodian featherweight Rin Saroth in the night’s second match up. As soon as the bell sounded, the contest quickly went to the ground, with Saroth executing a textbook armbar submission to earn the victory.
Eh Ya Nut and Vy Srey Chai kicked off ONE: KINGDOM OF KHMER with a battle between two emerging Cambodian female flyweights. A tentative opening round was followed up by a stronger showing in the second, with both fighters scoring knees in the clinch and trading strikes on the ground. In the closing round, fierce exchanges pumped up the crowd as Vy Srey Khouch received the victory by split decision.

Nemkov decisions Puetz in exciting rematch Recaptures M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (December 4, 2015) – In a much anticipated rematch, Viktor Nemkov recaptured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title, winning a hard-fought five-round decision over defending champion Stephan “T-800” Puetz, in the M-1 Challenge 63 main event, at the Sports and Concert Complex in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In the co-feature, M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramazan Emeev successfully defended his crown, as American challenger Luigi “The Italian Tank” Fioravanti was unable to continue after four rounds.

M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramazan Emeev retained his title

Undefeated in four previous M-1 Global fights to date, Puetz (13-2-0, 5 KO/TKO, 4 SUB) captured the M-1 Challenge title 1 ½ years ago with an entertaining five-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov, who was making his first title defense after having defeated Vasily Babich (SUB2 – arm-lock) two years ago for the vacant title.

Puetz came into his rematch with Nemkov off a sensational SuperFight victory this past May against M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura, whose severely broken nose halted the action in the third round at M-1 Challenge 57.

Kazakhstan-native Nemkov, who fights out of Stary Oskol, Russia, had won two straight fights since he lost to Puetz, of Germany, including an impressive decision in his last action over always tough Maro Perak.

Two-time M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, Emeev (13-3-0, 3 KO/TKO, 6 SUB) is a native of Dagestan who fights out of Makhachkala, Russia. He first won the M-1 Challenge championship in 2012 at M-1 Challenge 35, taking a decision from Mario Miranda, who Emeev defeated four months later by third-round knockout at M-1 Challenge 38. At M-1 Challenge 51, Emeev was stopped in the fourth round by Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, who lost the title back to Emeev by fifth-round submission this past April at M-1 Challenge 56.

Fioravanti (26-14-0, 10 KO/TKO, 7 SUB), representing American Top Team, is a popular fighter out of Orlando, Florida. He was coming off a second-round win by submission (choke) last July against Sergey Kovalev at M-1 Challenge 59.

Georgian light heavyweight Raul Tutarauli (6-2-0, 5 KO/TKO, 1 SUB) registered a huge upset, knocking out Russian Alexey “Ataman” Makhno (10-4-0, 4 KO/TKO, 1 SUB) in the second round.

Russian light heavyweight prospect Rashid Yusupov (7-0-0, 2 KO/TKO, 2 SUB) remained undefeated, taking a three-round unanimous decision from German foe Martin “King Kong” Zawada (26-14-1, 16 KO/TKO, 5 SUB)).

Unbeaten featherweights Mikhail Korobkov (9-0-1, 1 KO/TKO, 6 SUB), of Russia, and Brazilian invader Rodrigo Magalhaes (7-0-1, 0 KO/TKO, 6 SUB) fought to a three-round draw.

In preliminary card action, veteran Ukrainian lightweight Alexander Butenko (39-11-2) and Russian featherweight Zalimbek Omarov (6-1-1) won three-round unanimous decision, respectively, over Heydar Mammadaleiv (8-2-0), of Azerbaijan, and Ukrainian Artem “Iron” Lezhnev (7-5-0). Ruslan Shamilov (1-0-0) stopped Bulat Zhumabatov (0-1-0) in the second round (doctor’s stoppage) in a Super Cup St. Petersburg match between Russian middleweights.

Also fighting on the preliminary card, Russian middleweight Vasily Zubkov (9-4-0) won a hard fought three-round split decision from pro-debuting Uzbekistan-native Sarvar Iskhakov, fighting out of Russia, Russian welterweight Damila Prikaza (2-0-1) stopped experienced Ukrainian Artem “Shockwave” Shokalo (13-14-0), and Russian featherweight Mikhail Kuznetsov (5-1-0) defeated Ukrainian opponent Stanislav “White Warrior” Reutsky (8-5-) by way of a rear naked choke for a second-round submission.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (December 4, 2015) – Bellator MMA’s Bantamweight Championship will be on the line in a rematch pitting Marcos “Loro” Galvao (17-6-1) against former champion Eduardo “Dudu” Dantas (17-4) at Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas, on February 26.

In addition, hometown favorite, David Rickels (16-4, 1 NC) will return to action against an opponent that will be revealed at a later date. “The Caveman” always comes ready to put on a show, whether it’s on his way to the cage, or when he’s taking on a who’s who of Bellator MMA lightweight talent.

The main event, as well as Rickels’ fight will make up two of the televised contests at “Bellator 150: Galvao vs. Dantas,” which airs live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, while preliminary bouts will stream on Bellator.com at 7 p.m. ET. Additional fights will be announced shortly.

Tickets for “Bellator 150: Galvao vs. Dantas 2,” which start at just $27, go on sale next Saturday, December 12 at KansasStarEventCenter.com or Ticketmaster.com, as well as the Kansas Star Arena box office.

A rib injury sustained by Dantas during training camp forced him to withdraw from his previously scheduled title shot at“Bellator 144: Halsey vs. Carvalho.” Now fully recovered, promotional officials have rebooked the tilt.

“Loro,” who has fought for world-renowned promotions the likes of World Extreme Cagefighting and Shooto since 2003, will be competing for the 11th time under the Bellator MMA banner. The 34-year-old is presently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak and has emerged victorious in seven of his last eight scraps. In his last outing, Galvao finished Joe Warren at “Bellator 135: Warren vs. Galvao” via submission to win his first-ever championship.

Meanwhile, Dantas will be looking to duplicate the success he had against Galvao in their first meeting, which resulted in a second-round knockout at “Bellator 89.” The 26-year-old Nova Uniao product bounced back from his unanimous decision loss against Warren to dispel of Mike Richman in the same manner at “Bellator 137: Halsey vs. Grove.” The Bellator Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament winner is looking to call himself a two-time bantamweight champion come October 23.

WSOF26: Tyrone Spong Injured, Five Undercard Bouts Announced

LAS VEGAS (Dec. 2, 2015) – World Series of Fighting has announced five bouts for the preliminary card of its much-anticipated “WSOF26: Palmer vs. Almeida” world championship event at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 18, live on NBCSN, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

In addition, an injury has forced Tyrone “King of the Ring” Spong to withdraw from his scheduled light heavyweight (205 pounds) co-main event bout with Jake Heun (7-4) of Coconut Creek, Fla., who will now face Clinton Williams (10-2) of Las Vegas in a preliminary card matchup.

The preliminary card will stream live in its entirety, on an embeddable video player on WSOF.com, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Also featured on the undercard bill will be a welterweight (170 pounds) showdown between Abubakar Nurmagomedov, who will return to the decagon cage after a successful World Series of Fighting debut, to face Danny “Dee1” Davis, Jr.

Nurmagomedov (10-1) of Dagestan, Russia earned a unanimous decision over Jorge Moreno at WSOF22 on August 1. The bout marked the first time in his career that Nurmagomedov, whose previous nine victories all came by way of (T)KO or submission, required the judges’ scorecards to declare him the victor of a fight.

Davis Jr. (11-9-1) of Las Vegas is looking to return to the win column after a close, split decision loss to Matthew Frincu at WSOF23 on September 18, snapped a five-fight win streak that Davis, Jr. had been riding. The last three wins in Davis’ run all came under the World Series of Fighting banner.

In a light heavyweight (205 pounds) attraction, aggressive-minded finisher Andreas “Sweet Swede” Spang will battle undefeated wrecking machine Shamil Gamzatov.

Fighting out of Las Vegas where he trains under guru “One Kick” Nick Blomgren, the 37-year-old Spang, who has earned six of nine career wins by way of (T)KO or submission, will enter the cage for the first time in 2015. In his last effort, he notched a unanimous decision over J.A. Dudley on December 5, 2014.

Also making his first start of the year, the 25-year-old Gamzatov (9-0) of Makhachkala, Russia is the number four ranked light heavyweight in Ukraine. To date, all of his victories have come by way of (T)KO or submission.

In a matchup between two fearsome, undefeated featherweights (145 pounds) rising stars, Hakeem “Mean” Dawodu will lock horns with Marat Magomedov.

Dawodu (5-0) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada is a 24-year-old protégé of renowned Muay Thai master Mike Miles and a five-time veteran of World Series of Fighting competition. To date, Dawodu has scored (T)KO victories on all five of his opponents, including his last two adversaries – Tristan Johnson and Chuka Willis – whom he defeated by way of third round (1:59) TKO (punches) on February 12, and by way of second round (2:55) TKO (knees and elbows) on June 5, respectively.

Magomedov (7-0) of Dagestan, Russia is looking for his second win of 2015 after finishing Husanboy Ataghanov by way of first round (4:35) submission (rear-naked choke) on September 18. The 25-year-old has been taken the distance of a fight only once, earning all six of his other career wins via submission.

In the opening WSOF26 preliminary card bout, Gil Guardado will mix it up with Giga Chikadze at lightweight.

Guardado (4-1) of Las Vegas is a 30-year-old member of Xtreme Couture’s fight team seeking his second win of the year after submitting Pete Martin with a guillotine choke in the first round (3:31) of their bout at WSOF22. All four of Guardado’s wins to date have come by way of (T)KO or submission.

Chikadze (1-0) of Huntington Beach, Calif. via Tbisili, Georgia is a 27-year-old seasoned kickboxer who has twice competed for Glory where he holds a record of 1-1 and scored a first round KO on Ken Tran on May 8.

Priced from $29.99, tickets are available for purchase at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com, www.WSOF.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

In the world championship featherweight main event, reigning kingpin Lance Palmer (10-1) will square off with submission expert Alexandre Almeida (17-5).

In other action on the four-bout, live NBCSN telecast, hard-hitting, rising star Ozzy Dugulubgov (7-2) will meet streaking submission ace Nic Herron-Webb (18-6) in a lightweight scrap.

Former World Series of Fighting championship challenger Josh “Gentleman” Hill (12-1) will collide with undefeated sensation Bekbulat Magomedov (16-0) in a bantamweight matchup.

Leading off the live NBCSN telecast will be a featherweight affair between accomplished KO artist Robbie “Problems” Peralta (18-6) who will make his World Series of Fighting debut against hard-hitting Muay Thai stylist Sheymon Moraes (7-1).

Doors at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will open for WSOF26 at 3 p.m. PT and the first preliminary card bout will begin at 3:30 p.m.

RIZIN FF Heavyweight Tournament Matchups and Fighter Quotes

TOKYO, JAPAN (Nov. 30, 2015) –A drawing to determine the tournament brackets and first stage matchups for the RIZIN FIGHTING GRAND-PRIX 2015 eight-man, heavyweight tournament that will take place over the course of two days – December 29 and December 31 – and will award its winner a grand prize of $300,000, was held today in Tokyo.

BAMMA Heavyweight Champion Mark Godbeer, who had been scheduled to compete in the tournament, was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury sustained in training. BAMMA will announce a replacement fighter for the tournament soon.

Prior to the drawing, Chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara stated, “This tournament will be the highlight of RIZIN. Fighters from around the world who are proud to represent their promotion and country, and are eager to use this platform to boost their career to make a name for themselves have gathered in the tournament. The majority of the media who gathered today may not know much about these athletes, but when K-1 first kicked off in 1993, nobody knew about Branko Cikati? or Mike Bernardo. The fighters who open up the new doors are those who exceed their expectations.”

The seven contestants slated for tournament action appeared at the press conference. Each drew an envelope numbered one through seven, and those who drew numbers one through four received the opportunity to choose their respective places in the tournament draw.

The first stage tournament matchups will be as follows:

Bout # 1: Lawal vs BAMMA fighter
Bout # 2: Aukstuolis vs Cappelozza,
Bout # 3 Ishii vs Prochazka,
Bout # 4: Reljic vs Nemkov.

A tournament reserve bout between Valentine Moldovsky and Yuta Uchida was also announced during the press conference.

Fighter Quotes:

– 1st Pick = “King Mo” Lawal – selected Slot A

“I am honored to fight for RIZIN. I am excited to showcase my skills in front of the Japanese fans and get the job done. I’m happy to be able to pick number one. I’m always number one. I’m in a position where others will pick me, my job is to crush whoever stands next to me.”

““I currently don’t have an opponent, but I’m sure that BAMMA will send a good fighter for me. But unfortunately whoever comes will get smashed so he better be prepared. I think Ishii made a smart choice by avoiding me and my bracket. Good for him.”

“That’s a lot of money! I’d buy a bunch of ice cream, some nice clothes, and go to Disney World and see a bunch of movies. I’d go to Vegas and party, and buy tons of gold accessories.”

– 2nd Pick = Teodoras Aukstuolis (BUSHIDO Europe Champion) – selected Slot C

“I am grateful to be given such an opportunity. At this level of competition, you have to be ready to fight anybody so I don’t care who my opponent will be. I believe in myself and am ready to fight anybody.”

“For me, becoming the champion in more important than the money. Money will follow as a result of being a true champion. My mind is set to win the tournament.”

– 3rd Pick = Goran Reljic (Former KSW Light Heavyweight Champion) – selected Slot G

“I don’t care who fights me. My dream since I was a kid was to fight in Japan, and I am living the dream right now, my goal is to show my best performance on New Years Eve.”

“I like the matchup. I’ve been training with Sambo world champion Blagoi Ivanov and am familiar with the Sambo fight style. I know he comes from a great team, but I will be ready to take anything he has to offer so it will be a good fight.”

“I am living a childhood dream. I am more focused on continuing my journey on my dream to become a champion in Japan. I will think of what to do with the money once I achieve my goal.”

– 4th Pick = Satoshi Ishii (Beijing Olympics Judo Gold medalist) – selected Slot E

“Preparation is good. I will not feel that a fight is a fight, the battle on NYE has just begun.”

“My plan is to invest half of the prize money in gambling and will donate the rest.”

“This was a good offer that I could not turn down. An MMA tournament, Good opponents, good prize money. I don’t want to focus too much on winning the tournament because that will affect my mental game, so I will focus on one fight at a time.”

– 5th Pick = Bruno Cappelozza (Jungle Fight 100kg Champion) – selected Slot D

“I really don’t know any of the fighters here today, so I will choose my opponent and hope I’m lucky.”

“That type of big money will change my life and my family’s life. And also becoming a champion. Those two aspects will be huge accomplishments for me.”

“It has been my dream to fight in Japan. I do not know too much about my opponent, but I’m sure we will both be prepared for an exciting fight. I think this will be an excellent fight.”

– 6th Pick = Vadim Nemkov (MMA Union Heavyweight Champion) – selected Slot H

“I will be representing Sambo. I would like to show the beauty of Sambo and the art of Sambo.”

“I am very excited to be able to show my skills in a country where the Samurai was born. I will not disappoint you.”

“Everybody here is tough. Since I will be fighting the hometown favorite, my fight will be gathering attention. I would like to use this opportunity and this challenge to become the next big thing.”

“It is so much money I do not know where to start. I believe that the money will come later. So as of now, my focus is to give it all I have to make RIZIN proud that they chose me for a participant.”

General Manager Nobuhiko Takada took the microphone after the drawing, “I am feeling a familiar, comfortable yet tense atmosphere right now. I am just excited to witness the birth of future stars. I hope Ishii can perform in a way where he will make us Japanese fans proud. Ishii’s first accomplishment was winning the gold medal, but we have not seen any outstanding results from him in MMA. I really hope he can use this opportunity to achieve the biggest accomplishment of his career.”

WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING FINALIZES STAR-STUDDED WSOF26 MAIN CARD FOR FRIDAY, DEC. 18 AT THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS, LIVE ON NBCSN

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 24, 2015) – World Series of Fighting announced today that it has added three new bouts to complete the main card for “WSOF26: Palmer vs. Almeida,” which will be headlined by a world championship showdown between reigning featherweight kingpin Lance Palmer and Alexandre Almeida, at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 18, live on NBCSN, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

Joining the previously announced main event and light heavyweight co-main event between Tyrone “King of the Ring” Spong and Jake Heun, will be a lightweight (155 pounds) contest between aggressive-minded, rising star Ozzy Dugulubgov and submission wizard Nic “Naptime” Herron-Webb; a bantamweight matchup between wrestling phenom Josh “Gentleman” Hill and undefeated sensation Bekbulat Magomedov; and a featherweight (145 pounds) tilt between devastating strikers Robbie “Problems” Peralta and Sheymon Moraes.

“We are looking forward to closing out a year of incredible growth for World Series of Fighting with an exceptional lineup of world-class bouts featuring some of our most established superstars as well as several new faces that we recently welcomed to our roster and that we expect to make an immediate impact in our decagon cage,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo.

Priced from $29.99, tickets are available for purchase at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com , www.WSOF.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

The complete WSOF26 preliminary bout card will be announced soon. The card is subject to change.

Ozzy Dugulubgov vs. Nic Herron-Webb

The 26-year-old Dugulubgov (7-2) of Hackensack, N.J. is looking to notch his third consecutive win and second of 2015, following a first round (3:39) TKO (arm injury) of Lucas Montoya on April 10. Prior to his latest conquest, Dugulubgov, a Renzo Gracie protégé that boasts a near-perfect record of 4-1 in World Series of Fighting competition, scored a highlight reel-worthy KO (punch) of Keon Caldwell in the third round (1:38) of their matchup on September 13, 2014.

Herron-Webb (18-6) of Anchorage, Alaska is a 25-year-old, former welterweight (170 pounds) who has been fire, winning all four of his last bouts by way of submission, to arrive at his debut with World Series of Fighting. To date, 14 of Herron-Webb’s 18 professional career wins have come by way of submission, 8 of which he produced inside the first round of battle.

Josh Hill vs. Bekbulat Magomedov

A former World Series of Fighting championship challenger, Hill (12-1) of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada went the distance with reigning bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes before finding himself on the losing end of a unanimous decision on February 12.

The 28-year-old has since re-grouped after what marked his first career defeat, and reeled off two consecutive wins outside of the World Series of Fighting decagon – a third round (2:01) submission (rear-naked choke) of Josh Rettinghouse on May 30, and a unanimous decision over Ion Vranceanu on August 31.

Magomedov (16-0) of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, will risk his perfect record in the U.S. for the first time ever, after a run that has distinguished the 24-year-old Sambo champion as the number two ranked featherweight in Ukraine and the number seven ranked featherweight in Russia.

Of Magomedov’s 16 professional career victories, 8 have come by way of (T)KO and 3 have come by way of submission.

Robbie Peralta vs. Sheymon Moraes

Making his World Series of Fighting debut, Peralta (18-6, 1 NC) of Escondido, Calif. has served up several memorable moments in the cage with his punching power, notching 13 of his 18 professional career wins to date by way of (T)KO. LEE SIBLINGS CAP OFF EXCITING ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS FIGHT CARD

23 November 2015 – Manila, Philippines: The largest sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE) has announced the complete fight card for ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS which takes place at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in the Philippines on 11 December. The card is headlined by a spectacular showdown between Brandon “The Truth” Vera and Chi Lewis “Chopper” Parry for the inaugural ONE Heavyweight World Championship.

In addition to the main event, five exciting new bouts featuring local and international MMA athletes have also been announced. These bouts will include the Lee siblings from Singapore, Angela Lee, with her younger brother, Christian Lee making his professional MMA debut. Angela will face Lena Tkhorevska from Poland while Christian meets Australia’s David Meak. Filipino fighters Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio and Eugene Toquero are also on the card and will face Yang Jian Bing and Wu Ze respectively. Bruno Pucci returns to the ONE cage to battle Indonesia-based Dutch fighter, Anthony Engelen.

CEO of ONE Championship, Victor Cui stated, “Manila has always been one of our favourite cities because the support for ONE Championship and MMA is tremendous! We have prepared an amazing lineup of fights for our passionate Filipino fans who are eager to witness our unique brand of world-class MMA. These five additional bouts are guaranteed to satisfy fans hungry for action as we hold nothing back in our spectacular return to the heart of the Philippines.”

Tickets for ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS are available now at www.smtickets.com.

MMA darling Angela “Unstoppable” Lee was victorious in her last fight, executing a rare Twister submission on her opponent at the recently concluded ONE: PRIDE OF LIONS show in Singapore. The win established Lee as the queen of submissions in ONE Championship. Known for being a sweetheart who transforms into a formidable contender in the cage, Angela ends her fights fast, with her first three bouts ending by first round submission. Angela looks to keep the streak alive when she meets her next opponent, Polish fighter, Lena Tkhorevska.

Lena Tkhorevska is one of Poland’s fastest rising female MMA stars. She makes her ONE Championship debut in Manila and can be described as a versatile fighter, complete with a formidable stand-up and ground game. Tkhorevska owns a knockout and a pair of submission victories as a professional and is set to give her opponent Angela Lee a tough fight in Manila.

Singaporean featherweight prospect by way of Hawaii, USA, Christian Lee will be following in his sister’s footsteps by turning professional inside the ONE Cage. Coming from a family of impressive martial artists, Christian was crowned multiple-time Junior Pankration World Champion with a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and was voted ‘Most Outstanding Athlete’ at the 2013 FILA World Championships after winning five world titles across the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Pankration, MMA, and Submission Grappling. The younger brother of Angela Lee will make his debut against Australian fighter, David Meak.

David Meak is an Australian featherweight mixed martial artist looking for a new beginning inside the ONE Cage. With five professional bouts on his record, Meak is equipped with the experience required to be successful at this level of the sport. He’ll have his hands full though, as he takes on rising young star, Christian Lee of Evolve-MMA.

Team Lakay’s Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio will face Chinese fighter Yang Jian Bing in a surefire fast-paced flyweight bout. After two losses, one against Anatpong Bunrad and the other against Adriano Moraes, Eustaquio is eager to come back better and stronger, and showcase just how much he has improved since. Eustaquio, known for his well-rounded striking game, will need to outwork his opponent to emerge victorious in his home turf and return to his winning ways.

Yang Jian Bing is one of the most promising young flyweights to come out of China. With five victories on his professional record, including three submissions, Yang is a nightmare matchup for anyone in his division. Despite the remarkable success he’s had in grappling, Yang considers striking to be his forte and will look to take the fight straight to Geje Eustaquio of the Philippines.

Eugene Toquero is one of the most exciting fighters to come out of Manila. His time inside the ONE Cage has been memorable, as he’s delighted fans with impeccable striking and flashy combinations. The former celebrity MMA trainer recently fell short of victory at ONE: TIGERS OF ASIA when he lost to Riku Shibuya via unanimous decision. Toquero is set to do battle with Wu Ze, who represents a chance for him to get back on track for a title shot in the future.

Chinese flyweight Wu Ze has seven years of mixed martial arts training, with a strong background in Sanda and Wrestling. He became the winner of the ONE Guangzhou Flyweight Tournament Finals when he defeated Yang Jian Bing via split decision. Wu, who is also a parkour and extreme sports enthusiast has proven to be an exciting fighter just like his next opponent, Eugene Toquero of the Philippines. This bout between two flyweights is definitely one to watch out for.

Bruno “Pucci Bull” Pucci from Brazil makes his much awaited return to the ONE Cage after a year-long break. A first degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and world champion in No Gi, Pucci is famous for finishing all his fights via his favourite submission move, the Rear Naked Choke. Pucci’s winning streak came to a devastating halt when he lost to Major Overall last year at ONE: HONOR & GLORY. He is determined to get back on the right track, this time against Anthony Engelen.

Anthony Engelen is a Dutch fighter who trains full-time in Indonesia. Just like his next opponent, Engelen’s strength lies in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, making his match a potential war of attrition on the ground. Engelen is undefeated in his first three professional fights and his debut with ONE Championship gives him the chance to advance his position in a stacked division. Standing in his way is Evolve-MMA

21 November 2015 – Beijing, China: The largest sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), in partnership with Wujie, packed the Gymnasium of National Olympic Sports Centre in Beijing to the rafters with another evening of world-class mixed martial arts action. ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II) rocked the arena with a series of exciting fights, including a spectacular main event. In an intense battle of two champions, Marat “Cobra” Gafurov successfully unified the ONE Featherweight World Championship with a technical submission victory over Narantungalag Jadambaa.

In the main event of the evening, Marat “Cobra” Gafurov of Russia overcame a spirited effort from now former champion Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia to win by technical submission in an exhausting title bout. Jadambaa proved to the world that his striking is an absolute force to be reckoned with, battering Gafurov with well-timed kicks and pinpoint punching. Gafurov however, dominated from top position with various submission attempts and ground-and-pound. In the end, Gafurov secured a breathtaking rear naked choke to put Jadambaa to sleep, coercing referee Olivier Coste to call a halt to the contest.

In the co-main event, Greco-Roman wrestling specialist Kairat Akhmetov showcased his superior takedown ability to remain undefeated by trumping now former champion Adriano Moraes to capture the ONE Flyweight World Championship. Although Moraes led slightly with his revamped striking technique, Akhmetov scored on multiple takedowns and nullified the Brazilian’s submission attempts with top control. Judges scored the bout in favor of Akhmetov by split decision after five rounds.

Yang Sen took the fight straight to opponent Zhang Jia Cai to win by impressive Kimura submission in the Beijing Featherweight Tournament II final bout. Yang beat Zhang to the punch on numerous occasions and commandeered the action on the mat to set up the spectacular finish. With the victory, Yang maintained his undefeated record and was crowned tournament champion.

In an evenly matched flyweight contest, Li Wei Bin and Wang Ya Yong both put on an amazing display of grit and heart for three gruelling rounds. The two fighters maintained a fast pace throughout, with Li utilizing well-calculated strikes to keep Wang at bay. A spinning backfast landed for Wang in the second round but Li accomplished more down the stretch. Two judges had Li winning the fight as he was awarded with a split decision victory.

Nikolay Aleksakhin of Seltso, Russia utilized world-class wrestling to punish Burenzorig Batmunkh of Mongolia en-route to an impressive submission finish. Aleksakhin dominated his opponent on the ground and also established command in the striking department, highlighted by a spinning backfist in the final round. After three rounds of action, Aleksakhin was able to secure the rear naked choke, compelling Batmunkh to tap out.

Jeff “The Machine” Huang evened the score with Trestle Tan by scoring a quick technical knockout victory over the Filipino mixed martial artist. Tan blasted Huang with a combination to open the bout but Huang was able to secure a clinch up against the cage where he tagged Tan repeatedly with uppercuts, forcing the stoppage just moments into the first round.

Ma Jia Wen figured in a phenomenal performance against Wang Ya Wei as he trounced his opponent from start to finish with devastating power shots from all angles. Ma showcased dynamic striking technique and good range awareness to keep Wang at a distance, unable to take the fight to the ground. After two rounds of absolute dominance, the Tianjin native simply would not be denied of victory as he defeated Wang by unanimous decision.

Zhang Jia Cai got the better of the exchanges and showed solid submission defense against Qiao Long Fei who had no answer for Zhang’s tenacity. Zhang pummeled Qiao repeatedly with powerful strikes and dictated the action on the feet. On the mat, Zhang was able to lock in a modified rear naked choke from the side, forcing Qiao to tap out in the first round.

Mixed martial artist Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De and Sanda specialist Yang Sen kicked off ONE WUJIE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (BEIJING II) with a classic battle between grappler and striker. Ala Teng Bu Ri Ge De tried to control the action from top position but Yang’s striking superiority shone through as he repeatedly blasted his opponent with heavy strikes. In the end, two judges saw the fight for Yang who took the bout by split decision.

UFC® BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPION TJ DILLASHAW COLLIDES WITH DOMINICK CRUZ IN BOSTON

ufc_title-belt_206
Las Vegas – A world title will be on the line in Boston on Sunday, January 17 at TD Garden when UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw seeks to successfully defend his crown for the third time against former WEC® and UFC® bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DILLASHAW vs. CRUZ marks the second championship fight to air on FS1.

Continuing with the tradition of bringing great events to Beantown, Dillashaw (13-2, fighting out of Denver, Colo.) looks to prove he is the undisputed champ of the 135-pound division. With three finishes in as many title bouts, Dillashaw has made his way to the No. 5 spot on the pound-for-pound list. Looking to derail Dillashaw’s momentum is former champion and rival Cruz (20-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.). The inaugural UFC 135-pound king was forced to vacate the title in 2014 after multiple injuries left him unable to compete. Now hungrier than ever, Cruz has his eyes set on regaining the title he never lost in the Octagon.

In the co-main event, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis (18-3, fighting out of Milwaukee, Wisc.) meets No. 4 Eddie Alvarez (26-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.). Pettis, the No. 1 contender in the 155-pound division, is one of the flashiest strikers in the sport and no doubt has redemption on his mind as he looks to secure another shot at the lightweight title with an impressive win over Alvarez. Meanwhile, Alvarez is the epitome of a Philly-born fighter, and he will have gold on his mind in Boston, as well.

Plus, fifth-ranked Travis Browne (17-3-1, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) and No. 13 Matt Mitrione (9-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla.) clash in a heavyweight showdown. At 6’7” and 255-pounds, Browne is one of the most physically imposing fighters in the sport and packs a punch to match his size. To counter the power of the Hawaiian, Mitrione will look to his athleticism and equally heavy hands as he looks to crack the top 10 of the division with a win.

Additional bouts include:
· A classic grappler versus striker matchup as heavy-handed Tim Boetsch (18-9, fighting out of Sunbury, Penn.) meets submission ace Ed Herman (23-11, 1NC, fighting out of Fort Collins, Colo.) in a light heavyweight bout.

· Lightweight striking sensations Paul Felder (10-2, fighting out of Philadelphia, Penn) and Daron Cruickshank (16-7, 1 NC, fighting out of Detroit, Mich.) collide in an early Fight of the Night contender.

· Streaking welterweight Ben Saunders (19-6-2, fighting out of Orlando, Fla.) meets knockout artist Patrick Cote (23-9, fighting out of Montreal, Quebec Canada).

· Looking for his sixth consecutive win inside the Octagon, Beneil Dariush (12-1, fighting out of Yorba Linda, Calif.) takes on hard-hitting lightweight Mairbek Taisumov (24-5, fighting out of Vienna, Austria), a winner of three straight.

· A battle between heavy-handed heavyweights Sean O’Connell (16-6, fighting out of Salt Lake City, Utah) and Ilir Latifi (11-4, 1 NC, fighting out of Malmo, Sweden).

· Lethal strikers Francisco Trinaldo (18-4, fighting out of Brasilia, Distrito Federal Brazil) and Ross Pearson (20-9, 1 NC, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) square off in a lightweight duel.

· Boston’s own Charles Rosa (10-2, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Fla.) takes on the always dangerous Jimy Hettes (11-3, fighting out of Swoyersville, Penn.) who has 10 submission victories to his name, in a featherweight showdown.

· Two exciting bantamweights square-off as Rob Font (11-1, fighting out of North Reading, Mass.) defends his home turf against Patrick Williams (8-4, fighting out of Homestead, Fla.).
