Andy Dominguez Defeats Byron Rojas by Split Decision To Win WBC USA Silver Light Flyweight Title on Atlantic City

Andy Dominguez edged out Byron Rojas via 10-round split decision in an exciting toe-to-toe slugfest to win the WBC USA Junior Flyweight title to headline an entertaining card at the Tropicana Atlantic City.

The card was promoted by Boxing Insider Promotions.

The fight was fought at close quarters for the balance of the 30-minute affair. There were many instances of sustained action with each guy getting the better of the exchanges. Dominguez was able to work the body in an attempt to break down Rojas. That only seemed to urge on Rojas as he was able to land some hard combinations of his own.

The fight was on the table down the stretch with Dominguez surging ahead to win by scores of 97-93 and 96-94, while Rojas took a card 97-93.

The Las Vegas based Dominguez improves to 13-1. Rojas of Holland, Michigan via Nicaragua is 29-5-3.
