LOUIS LOPEZ TRAINING CAMP QUOTES

CORONA, CA (August 17, 2022) – Welterweight Louie Lopez (11-1-1, 4 KOs), of Corona, CA, will face Elias “Ingles” Diaz (11-0, 6 KOs), of National City, CA, in an 8-round bout, on Thompson Boxing’s “Path To Glory” event this Saturday, August 20, 2022. Lopez vs. Diaz will serve as the co-main event to Ruben “Ace” Torres (18-0, 15 KOs) vs. Cristian Baez (18-1, 17 KOs), a 10-round lightweight main event bout. Lopez is eager to keep his winning steak alive.

Tickets priced at $50$75$100 & $125, will only be available for purchase at the door the day of the event, which will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm PT with the first fight starting at 8:00 pm PT.

Here is what Lopez had to say about his matchup with Diaz, his recent training camp, fighting at home, and more.

On his recent training camp:

Camp has been tough but motivating, as I’m excited to be fighting in front of all my fans in my hometown of Corona, California.  When I’m tired from training, I get extra motivation to go the extra mile as my fans keep me going. I have been waiting for this moment, to fight at home, and that is what has inspired me for this camp. The sparring I had for this fight was the best I’ve had in years.”

On his matchup with Diaz:

“Diaz is undefeated, who got a big win last year against another unbeaten fighter.  He’s kept his unbeaten record in place and that’s what makes me excited, I want to be the first fighter to give him a loss. He’s coming with the mindset to upset me in front of all my hometown fans, but he’s going to find out real quick, that I’m on another level then anyone he’s ever fought. My relentlessness and desire will be the keys to me winning this fight.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“Quite simply put, a victory makes up for the loss early in my career. It shows I’ve evolved and became a better fighter. I know that I am an elite fighter and beating an undefeated prospect will only make my stock rise. I am coming into this fight to earn the respect that I feel was taken from me earlier in my career.”

On being showcased as the co-main event in his hometown:

“I love being able to fight at home in Southern California, especially Corona, California, where I was born and raised. I am very proud to represent where I’m from. Being featured so high on this card essentially gives me a great platform to entertain my fans and put on a show. I am looking forward to the energy of the crowd and the excitement that Corona, California will bring on fight night. This is going to be a fight you won’t want to miss as it will be action-packed, proving I’m ready to be in the conversation for some form of a title in the next year. I respect my opponent outside of the ring, but not in the ring. I want the boxing fans and those who love the sport to see me as a great fighter on this night.”

CRISTIAN BAEZ TRAINING CAMP QUOTES

CORONA, CA (August 13, 2022) – Upset-minded lightweight power puncher,

Cristian Baez (18-1, 17 KOs), who is scheduled to battle Ruben “Ace”

Torres (18-0, 15 KOs), in the 10-round main event on Thompson Boxing’s

“Path To Glory” show August 20, 2022, is eager to get back in the ring after over a two-year layoff.

Tickets priced at $50$75$100 & $125, will only be available for purchase at the door the day of the event, which will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm PT with the first fight starting at 8:00 pm PT.

Here is what Baez had to say about his recent training camp, his upcoming matchup with Torres, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“I have been training non-stop with my coaches, former boxer Arturo Quintero, and Eriky Alvarez at the Relentless Boxing Gym in San Jose, California. When this opportunity came up, I jumped on it. For those who saw the last fight I lost, I just lost focus, I was winning the fight and got caught. I am a different fighter now and because of that loss, I’m ready to shock the world on fight night. I’m finalizing a great training camp and I’m hungrier then ever.

On his matchup with Ruben Torres:

“He is a good fighter, talented, and young. I have sparred with a lot of bigger fighters, especially when I go to Hayward, California to spar with elite pros. I am very familiar with the style he has, and he will have to be the best version of himself to be effective, as I have done countless rounds with various fighters to prepare for this fight. I have trained relentlessly for this fight, and I don’t expect this fight to go the distance.”

On what a win will do for his career:

A win changes my life. I am in a position in boxing right now where I must come out victorious. I need to win to continue my dream of being a world champion. I have been out of the ring for some time, and this is a big moment for me to take a chance and skip the line to get back to where I once was. I am taking a big risk because I want the reward. A win here puts me back on television, and closer to fighting for in a world title eliminator.”

On fighting for Thompson Boxing:

I am thankful to Thompson Boxing for their professionalism and how they have treated me as a fighter thus far, as well as putting me in the main event spot against their top fighter. They have put forth world-class boxing events for years, and to get a chance to headline a show is a major deal no matter who it is against. I am ready to perform and entertain the fans, the hard part is nearly over, we’re getting close to what I love to do, which is fight.”

RUBEN “ACE” TORRES TRAINING CAMP QUOTES

CORONA, CA (August 12, 2022) – Undefeated lightweight, Ruben “Ace” Torres (18-0, 15 KOs), who is making a case for being the 2022 Prospect of the Year, is scheduled to headline Thompson Boxing’s “Path To Glory” event on August 20, 2022. Torres, who is wrapping up training camp, will battle Cristian Baez (18-1, 17 KOs), in a ten-round main event which looks to be Torres’ toughest fight to date.

Tickets priced at $50$75$100 & $125, will only be available for purchase at the door the day of the event, which will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm PT with the first fight starting at 8:00 pm PT.

Here is what Torres had to say about his upcoming fight with Baez, his recent training camp, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“I’ve given this camp my all. I know that a lot of people believe in me from friends, and family, to the media outlets labeling me as one of the next great fighters developed through Thompson Boxing. My goal is to work as hard as possible in the gym to be able to live up to the standards others have set for me. I am trying to not just be good, but great, and this camp reflects all the hard work that will be on display come fight night.”

On working with coaches Danny Zamora and Javier Gomez:

“I feel that the relationship I have with Danny Zamora and coach Javier Gomez is deeper than boxing. I took time off from boxing to go to school and, when I came back, they were both there for me. Together they were very serious about my dedication to the sport. I know that it isn’t just a business for them, they genuinely care about me and want what is best for me. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I don’t view them as coaches, I view them as people that will be on this journey with me till the end.”

On his upcoming matchup with Baez:

I know that he is a talented fighter who at one time was signed to Golden Boy Promotions, but lost a fight, and people seemingly forgot about his talent. I didn’t. I know that this is the most motivated he has ever been because he has been out of the ring for nearly two years. I am sure he stayed in the gym and the Baez I am facing will be a guy who not just wants to get a check, but he also wants the respect he feels he deserves in this sport. I am training for this fight like it is a world title fight, since I know he is a dangerous opponent.”

On headlining another Thompson Boxing card:

I am so grateful to the whole staff at Thompson Boxing. They have built me up to become a fighter who is in the running for the prospect of the year, and I want to be the next great fighter for this organization. Thompson Boxing is a family, and boxing is a sport that doesn’t have much community, especially as you become successful. I’m excited to headline another Thompson Boxing card. My next goal is to bring a world title to Thompson Boxing, and I know I will do it soon.”

Beto Duran will operate as the blow-by-blow commentator with expert commentary by Doug Fischer and Rich MarottaJessica Rosales will serve as the onsite ringside reporter.
