Alvarez Batters Smith; Wins Decision and Super Middleweight title

Canelo Alvarez won a emphatic 12-round unanimous decision over Callum Smith to win the WBA/WBC Super Middleweight title at The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Alvarez was dominant from the start as he landed some quick hard shots using a diverse offensive attack. At different times in the contest, Alvarez landed hard jabs; rights; left hook and a tremendous uppercuts.

By the middle rounds, it was evident that it would be a dominant victory for Alavrez as despite having a seven-inch height disadvantage, Smith would not and could not hold Alavarez with anything. Alavrez could just walk right in and land thudding combinations and dividing his punches to the head and body.

Alvarez hurt Smith several times with those hard, and the Englishman did well to hear the final bell, but he was bruised and cut over his right eye, and never competitive in the fight which saw Alavrez win on two cards 119-109 and a third was more generous for Smith to the tune of 117-111.

Alvarez landed 214 of 494 punches; Smith was 99 of 539.

Alvarez of Guadalajara, MEX is now 54-1-2. Smith of Liverpool, ENG is 27-1.

Castro Stops Valdes in 3

Marc Castro made a successful pro debut with a 3rd round stoppage over Luis Javier Valdes in a scheduled four-round junior lightweight fight.

In round two, Castro dropped Valdes with a right uppercut. In round three, it was a body shot that followed by a right to the head and Valdes did not beat the count at 1:59

Castro, 130.1 lbs of Fresno, CA is 1-0 with one knockout. Valdes, 128.8 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 7-6-1.

Sanchez stops Fernandez in 7

Frank Sanchez remained undefeated with a crushing 7th round stoppage over Julian Fernandez in a scheduled 10-round heavyweight bout.

In round seven, Sanchez landed a booming right that badly hurt Fernandez. A follow up right dropped Fernandez onto the apron and the fight was stopped at 1:35.

Sanchez, 229 lbs of Miami is 17-0 with 13 knockouts. Fernandez, 209.2 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 14-3.

Ford Stops Lopez in 7

Raymond Ford stopped Juan Antonio Lopez in round seven of their scheduled eight-round featherweight fight.

In round one, Ford sent Lopez to the deck with a right hook.

In round seven, Ford landed a perfect right hook to the chin that sent Lopez to a knee. Lopez took the 10-count and the fight was stopped at 1:14

Ford, 128.6 lbs of Camden, NJ is 8-0 with four knockouts. Lopez, 129.2 lbs of Dallas, TX is now 15-8.

Williams stops Jones in 1st

Austin Williams remained undefeated by stopping Isiah Jones in round one of their scheduled six-round middleweight bout.

Williams clipped Jones with hard left that hurt him. Williams jumped all over Jones and landed a hard barrage of punches that forced the stoppage at 1:29.

Williams is now 7-0 with six knockouts. Jones of Detroit is 9-4.




WENDY TOUSSAINT TO FIGHT ISIAH JONES AUG. 22 ON SMITH JR. VS ALVAREZ TITLE ELIMINATOR UNDERCARD

Undefeated, Haitian born, Long Island super welterweight WENDY “HAITIAN FIRE” TOUSSAINT (11-0 5KO’s) has been making a name for himself in the tri-state area since his pro-debut at Star Boxing’s “Rockin’ Fights” series.

Now, the 28-year old Toussaint will lace them up in Las Vegas for the first time in his toughest test to date, against Detroit’s ISIAH JONES (9-2 3KO’s). The bout will take place on the undercard of Toussaint’s fellow Long Island sparring partner and Star Boxing stablemate, #4 world rated (WBO) light heavyweight, JOE “THE BEAST” SMITH JR.’s (25-3 2KO’s) WBO World Title Eliminator against #3 world rated (WBO) light heavyweight, ELEIDER “STORM” ALVAREZ (25-1).

Toussaint has found dynamite in his hands as of late, winning five of his last six bouts by knockout. This past February, Toussaint took on the always tough Jermaine Corley at The Paramount. With his full arsenal on display, Toussaint disposed Corley via second round TKO after a vicious uppercut, followed by a right hand.

Split-T Management’s Isiah Jones Defeats Previously Undefeated Donte Stubbs

NEW YORK (July 1, 2020) – Split-T Management’s Isiah Jones scored a six-round majority decision over previously undefeated Donte Stubbs in a middleweight bout at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Jones of Detroit was fighting for the 2nd time in two weeks, outworked Stubbs, and won by scores of 59-55, 58-56 and 57-57.

The fight was televised live on ESPN.

With the win, it pushed the record of the 2016 National Golden Gloves champion to 9-2..

The 25 year-old took the fight on short notice, and improved on his performance from June 16th, when he dropped a decision to Nikoloz Sekhniashvili. Stubbs was the 3rd consecutive undefeated fighter that Jones has faced.




Saucedo decisions Fredrickson

Former world title challenger Alex Saucedo won a 10-round unanimous decision over Sonny Fredrickson in a junior welterweight bout at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Saucedo outlanded Fredrickson 318-172 and was much more active and landing the more telling blows throughout the contest.

Saucedo, 140.8 lbs of Oklahoma City, OK won by scores of 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92 and is now 30-1. Fredrickson, 140.9 lbs of Toledo, OH is 21-3.

“We worked on a lot of things in the gym. It was important for me to get the rounds in, and Sonny was a tough opponent,” Saucedo said. “I am ready to take over the 140-pound division. Whatever opportunity comes my way, I will take advantage of it. Most importantly, I got rid of the ring rust and went 10 hard rounds.”

Josue Vargas won a 10-round unanimous decision over Salvador Briceno in a junior welterweight bout.

In round six, Vargas was cut over the left eye from an accidental headbutt. Vargas outlanded Briceno 187-77.

Vargas, 140.5 lbs of Bronx, NY won by scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91 and is now 17-1. Briceno, 138.2 lbs of Guadalajara, MEX is 17-6.

John Bauza remained undefeated by pounding out a eight-round unanimous decision over Larry Fyers in a junior welterweight bout.

Bauza, 139.3 lbs of Catano, PR won by scores of 80-72 twice and 79-73 and is now 14-0. Fryers, 138.9 lbs of Clones, IRL is 11-3.

Fighting for the 2nd time in two weeks, Isiah Jones won a six-round majority decision over previously undefeated Donte Stubbs in a middleweight bout.

Split-T Management Fighter’s Giovani Santillan & Isiah Jones in action in Las Vegas

NEW YORK (June 16, 2020) – TONIGHT!!! Two members of the Split-T Management stable will be in action on at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In the opening co-feature bout, undefeated welterweight Giovani Santillan will take on former lightweight world champion Antonio DeMarco in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds.

In a six-round middleweight bout, Split-T Management’s Isiah Jones takes on undefeated Nikoloz Sekhniashvili.

The fights will be televised live on ESPN beginning at 8 PM ET.

Santillan of San Diego has a record of 25-0 with 15 knockouts, and will be making his 2020 debut.

The 28 year-old has amassed wins over the likes of Peter Haro (2-0), Michael Balasi (10-2), Daniyar Hanyk (10-0), Osenohan Vazquez (7-1-1), Eduardo Rivera (9-1-2), Ernesto Ortiz (10-2), Omar Tienda (18-3), Sammy Valentin (12-0), Dodzi Kemeh (19-1), Alejandro Barboza (11-1) and in his bout when he stopped Wilfredo Buelvas in two rounds on November 22nd in Ontario, California.

DeMarco (33-8-1, 24 KOs) of Los Mochis, Mexico is a 16 year-veteran who won the WBC Interim Lightweight title on October 31, 2009 with a 10th round stoppage over Jose Alfaro. He then went on to win the WBC Lightweight title with an 11th round stoppage over Jorge Linares. He defended the title twice with stoppage victories over Miguel Roman and John Molina Jr.

Santillan was 148 pounds at Monday’s weigh-in. DeMarco was 147 pounds.

The classy DeMarco also has wins over Nick Casal (16-1-1), Juan Casteneda Jr. (12-0), Kid Diamond (27-1-1), Anges Adjaho (25-1) and Eddie Ramirez (17-0). DeMarco is coming off a loss to Jamal James on July 13, 2019 in Minneapolis.

Jones was 158.3 pounds at Monday’s weigh-in. Sekhniashvili was 159.25 lbs.

Undefeated Isiah Jones takes on Lanrado Tyner Tonight in Detroit

NEW YORK (February 8, 2019)-Tonight, Undefeated Isiah Jones takes on the toughest test of his young career when he takes on 50-fight veteran Lanardo Tyner in a scheduled eight-round junior middleweight bout at The Motor City Casino in Detroit.

Jones of Detroit has a record of 7-0 with three knockouts is looking to knock off Tyner,.

Tyner has wins over the likes of former world champion Vivian Harris, world title challenger Charles Hatley and perennial contender Antwone Smith. He is coming off a 3rd round stoppage over undefeated Cortez Chambliss.

The 24 year-old Jones was 52-2 as an amateur, and was the 2016 National Golden Gloves champion.

Jones, who is managed by Split-T Management, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dakota Bush on October 27th.

Jones was 156.6 lbs at Thursday’s weight. Tyner checked in at 150.
