Orlando, FL (April 29, 2022) – Featherweight contenders Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz and Miguel Beltran will square off in the ten round main event of a Bally Sports Presents: Entrobox Championship Boxing card Saturday, May 21 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico and now residing in Orlando, Diaz is regarded as one of boxing’s most exciting fighters. At 26-4 with 16 KO’s, Diaz has impressive victories over Angel Luna, Ray Ximenez, Neftali Campos, Raul Hirales, Bryant Cruz and Braulio Rodriguez. His third round stoppage of Cruz in 2017 earned him the WBO NABO 130 pound title.

Following his win against Rodriguez, Diaz challenged for world titles at 126 and 130 pounds but came up short. All four of his setbacks came against current or former world champions in Masayuki Ito, Shakur Stevenson, Emmanuel Navarrete, and Isaac Dogboe.

Fighting out of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Beltran’s 34-8 with 23 wins by
knockout. Beltran’s first title challenge ended in a no contest due accidental clash of heads against reigning IBF 130 pound champion Juan Salgado Zambrano. Less than a year later, Beltran dropped a disputed split decision to Roman Martinez for the vacant WBO super featherweight championship.

A 15-year pro, Beltran’s defeated the likes of Miguel Roman, Eduardo Lazcano, Eden Marquez and Fernando Garcia. He’s also challenged Yuriorkis Gamboa and Chris Colbert.

In the co-featured bout of the evening, unbeaten Nestor Bravo faces longtime contender Fernando David Saucedo in an eight round junior welterweight contest.

Hailing from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Bravo, 20-0 (14 KO’s), is currently based in Orlando. Prior to his pro career, Bravo defeated future Olympic Gold Medalist Robson Conceicao and was an alternate for the 2012 Puerto Rican Olympic Boxing Team. Bravo turned pro in 2015 and stopped his first six opponents. In his most recent bout, the 28-year-old knocked out Vitor Jones in three rounds.

Living and fighting out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Saucedo’s a longtime contender who owns an impressive 63-9-3 record with 10 KO’s. He’s a two-time world title challenger and shared the squared circle with Chris John, Sergio Manuel Medina, Rances Barthelemy, Christian Mijares, Emmanuel Tagoe and Subriel Matias.

Undefeated Irish sensation Connor Coyle meets his toughest opponent to date when he challenges Antonio Todd in a ten round tilt for the vacant NABA middleweight title.

Coyle, who splits time between his native Northern Ireland and Florida, is 15-0 with 7 wins by knockout. On February 19, Coyle dominated once-beaten Rodrigo Rodriguez en route to a fifth round stoppage. The 31-year-old Coyle is promoted by Fire Fist Boxing Promotions.

Fighting out of Atlanta, GA, Todd’s 13-5 record includes 7 victories by KO. On January 22, Todd scored the biggest win of his career by defeating contender Hugo Centeno Jr.

The Diaz-Beltran, Bravo-Saucedo and Coyle-Todd bouts will air on the Bally Sports Network and Bally Sports app live at 9 PM ET.

The undercard will feature a plethora of young talented fighters including lightweights, Joseph Adorno, Sean Mason and Alexy De La Cruz, junior middleweight Derrick Jason, middleweights Wayna Reid and Jamar Pemberton, super bantamweight Elon de Jesus and junior welterweights Corey Marksman, Elijah Flores, and Darrius Jackson all in separate bouts.

In an exciting 10-round super middleweight clash, Alfredo Angulo took a split decision over former middleweight champion Peter Quillin at The Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California.

In round seven, Angulo was cut around the left eye. Although Quillin outlanded Angulo 291-164, it was the more powerful shots of Angulo that forged him ahead on two cards by 97-93 and 96-94 tallies. Quillin took a card 96-94.

Angulo, 167.6 lbs of Mexicali, MX is 26-7. Quillin, 167.8 lbs of Brooklyn, NY is 34-2-1.

Chris Colbert scored a spectacular 1st round stoppage over Miguel Beltran Jr. in a scheduled 10-round super featherweight bout.

Thomas Dulorme outslugged previously undefeated Terrel Williams via 10-round unanimous decision on a welterweight fight.

In round eight, Delorme was cut over his left eye from an accidental headbutt. In round ten, Dulorme dropped Williams with a hard left.

Dulorme, 146,4 lbs of Puerto Rico won by scores of 98-91 twice and 96-93 and is now 25-3-1. Williams, 146.4 lbs of Inglewood, CA is 18-1.

Jesus Ramos stopped Rickey Edwards in round three of a scheduled eight-round super lightweight bout.

Ramos dropped Edwards hard with a straight left hand, and the bout was immediately stopped at 2:40.

Ramos, 142.4 lbs of Casa Grande, AZ is 11-0 with 10 knockouts. Edwards, 142.6 lbs of Paterson, NJ is 12-4.

Michel Rivera stopped Jose Luis Gallegos after round five of their scheduled eight round lightweight bout.

Rivera, 136 lbs of Santo Domingo, DR 17-0 with 11 knockouts. Gallegos, 136.8 lbs of Chicago is 16-8.

2016 Russian Olympian Petr Khamukov stopped Randy Fuentes in round four of their scheduled eight-round middleweight bout.

In round two, Khamukov dropped Fuentes with a left hook. Seconds later, it was a quick flurry that put Fuentes down for a 2nd time. Khamukov scored a knockdown from a straight right hand to begin the 4th round. Moments later, Fuentes hit the canvas again from a combination on the inside, and the fight was stopped at 2:21.

Khamukov, 160 lbs of Russia is 44-0 with one knockout Fuentes, 160.8 lbs of McAllen, TX is 9-9-1.

Jonathan Esquivel stopped Justin Steave in round two of their scheduled eight-round middleweight bout.

In round one, Esquivel dropped stopped Steave with a big left hook. Seconds later, it was another big left hook that followed by a right that sent Steave down again. In round two, it was a body shot that sent Steave down again. Steave got to his feet, but the fight was waved off at 1:21.

Esquivel, 164 lbs of Anaheim, CA is now 12-0 with 11 knockouts. 163 lbs of Pittsburgh, PA is 10-3.

BAKERSFIELD, CA. (August 22, 2019) – Former world champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin will duel hard-hitting Alfredo Angulo in a 12-round super middleweight showdown that headlines FS1 PBC Fight Night and on FOX Deportes on Saturday, September 21 from Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California.

Coverage on FS1 begins at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and features fast-rising prospect Chris “Prime Time” Colbert entering the ring for a 10-round lightweight matchup against former title challenger Miguel Beltran Jr., plus unbeaten welterweight Terrel Williams goes up against Thomas Dulorme in a 10-round attraction, while unbeaten prospect Jesus Ramos takes on Rickey Edwards in a 10-round super lightweight match to open FS1 PBC Fight Night.

FS2 PBC Fight Night Prelims will precede the main card and begin at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT, highlighted by hard-hitting Jeison Rosario against unbeaten Bakhram Murtazaliev in a 12-round IBF 154-pound title eliminator.

Quillin (34-1-1, 23 KOs) is seeking to climb back into the championship ranks and must go through Angulo before reaching them. The 36-year-old, who was born in Chicago and now lives in Brooklyn, won the middleweight world title against Hassan N’Dam in 2012. He successfully defended it three times. He is coming off a no-decision against former super middleweight champion Caleb Truax on April 13 in an FS1 PBC Fight Night main event. He had taken the first two rounds on all three judges’ scorecards before the action was halted when a deep cut over Truax’s right eye, caused by an accidental head butt, brought an end to the fight and resulted in a no-decision.

“It looks like the Caleb Truax fight wasn’t meant to be, but this fight against Angulo is an important fight for me to establish myself in this division,” said Quillin, who was originally scheduled to rematch Truax on August 31, before Truax withdrew due to an Achilles injury. “I’m ready to go 12 rounds right now. I just have to stay ready and stay in shape because we’ve had a great camp where we were able to build on certain things. This is what was meant to be and I’m going to make the most of it with a great performance on September 21.”

Angulo (25-7, 21 KOs) enters the match against Quillin after a knockout victory over Evert Bravo on April 20. The 37-year-old veteran, who was born in Mexicali, Mexico and now lives in Coachella, California, has been in with some of the top boxers and sluggers during a career that has seen him in numerous exciting bouts against the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara amongst others.

“I am looking forward to showing my fans the best Alfredo Angulo on September 21,” said Angulo. “I have been working hard towards this opportunity. This is a chance to move closer to a world title and with hard work and the support of my team, I’m going to win that title.”

Representing his hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y., Colbert (12-0, 4 KOs) has begun to make a name for himself showing off tremendous skills across his first 12 pro victories. The 22-year-old turned pro in 2019 after an impressive amateur career and most recently dominated Alberto Mercado on his way to a unanimous decision on FOX in June.

“I’m dedicating this bout to the fight against childhood cancer,” said Colbert, who was inspired after recently being introduced to a young fan who has cancer. “I plan on going in to Rabobank Arena and doing what I do best on September 21. I never make predictions for my fights, but I’m always looking to dominate and if the knockout comes then it comes. I have a job to do and I just have to stay focused on the man in front of me. It’s going to be ‘Prime Time’ on September 21 so that fans will want to make sure to tune-in for this one.”

Fighting out of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Beltran (33-7, 22 KOs) will return to action after dropping a decision to former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa last November. The 30-year-old challenged Roman Martinez for a super featherweight title and lost by split decision in September 2012.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity to fight Chris Colbert on FS1 and FOX Deportes,” said Beltran. “I have fought the best 130 pounders in the world – Rocky Martinez, Gamboa, Mickey Roman and I have challenged for the world title twice. This is the type of fight I need on national TV to get myself back in contention. I’m very serious about winning and happy to have my training camp in Los Angeles with my cousin, former world champion Ray Beltran, who is helping me prepare for victory.”

Williams (18-0, 13 KOs) extended his unbeaten record in April with a split decision victory over Justin DeLoach in Las Vegas. The 35-year-old from Los Angeles previously won a decision over David Grayton in September 2018.

A longtime contender, Dulorme (24-3-1, 16 KOs) earned a majority draw in his last fight against former world champion Jessie Vargas last October. The 29-year-old had previously dropped a narrow decision to top contender Yordenis Ugas in August 2017. That defeat came after a streak where the Puerto Rican fighter won eight of nine fights, with his only loss during that stretch coming in a title fight against Terrence Crawford.

At just 18-years-old, Ramos (10-0, 9 KOs) scored knockouts in his first nine fights since turning pro last May. The Casa Grande, Arizona-native most recently went the distance for the first time in his pro career, winning a shutout unanimous decision over Kevin Shacks in June on FOX.

Fighting out of Paterson, New Jersey, Edwards (12-3, 3 KOs) won his first 11 pro fights including victories over then unbeaten fighters Azriel Paez and John Delperdang. The 29-year-old most recently lost a decision to undefeated Mykquan Williams in May.

The 24-year-old Rosario (19-1-1, 13 KOs) has won his last five fights and is unbeaten in eight bouts since his only pro loss to Nathaniel Gallimore in 2017. The Dominican-born fighter residing in Florida has taken down a slew of contenders and top prospects including Jamontay Clark, Justin DeLoach, Marcos Hernandez and most recently, Jorge Cota on FS1 in April.

Russia’s Murtazaliev(16-0, 13 KOs), who now resides in Oxnard, California and is unbeaten since turning pro in 2014. The 26-year-old has delivered knockout victories over Elvin Ayala and Bruno Leonardo Romay in 2019.

Thank you again for coming and I am happy to be on the big stage again, one that I have been used to being on. This is a pay per view event and that merits a lot of attention. With the help of my management team including Mr. Pepiama who has taken the spot of my promoter and has helped me very much and become almost a father figure to me. I thank New Champion Promotions for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to it. Obviously most important to me personally is to win this fight and potentially set up the next fight against Yuriorkis Gamboa, which has been a fight that has kind of eluded both of us but as long as I take care of business and he takes care of business there is no reason for that not to happen for the next fight. On the other hand he is talking about fighting Lomachenko. If he wins this fight and skips me and wants to keep running, let him run, but hopefully he does not run. This fight was done with the idea and the plan that we both get featured on a card and we fight and win and fight each other but now he’s talking a different language – fighting Lomachenko – so maybe he is having second thoughts. It’s a fight that the public wants but it is all up to him. Hopefully he sticks to the plan.

The comment that JuanMa had made earlier that I may be running or I may be ducking – that is false. MIAMI, FL, September 20, 2018 — In the “REDEMPTION IN MIAMI” main event, former four-time world champion in three weight divisions and Olympic Gold Medalist YURIORKIS “El Ciclon De Guantánamo” GAMBOA will battle two-time world title challenger MIGUEL “Barreterito” BELTRAN, JR. in a ten round lightweight bout. In the co-feature, former three-time world champion in two weight classes JUAN “JuanMa” LOPEZ will clash with CRISTIAN RUBEN “Piedrita” MINO, also in a ten-round lightweight bout. “Redemption in Miami” will take place Saturday, November 10 at Marlins Park on the West Plaza in Miami, Florida and will be available live on pay per view, distributed by Integrated Sports Media, beginning at 9 pm ET / 6pm PT at a retail price of $24.95

“Redemption in Miami” is promoted by New Champions Promotions in association with Marlins Park. Ticket prices start at $60 and will go on sale Wednesday, September 26 at 10:00 am ET and be available at the Marlins Park ticket office and on line at www.marlins.com/boxing. Fight night doors will open at 6:00 pm and first bout will begin at 7:00 pm.

“I’ve been dreaming all of my life about bringing boxing to my people in Miami,” said Gamboa. “JuanMa and I went to a Marlins game last year and we fell in love with the atmosphere and talked about fighting here. Now it is reality.”

Gamboa (28-2, 17 KOs), from Guantanamo, Cuba now living in Miami, Fla., won Gold as a Cuban in the 2004 Olympic games and is a former featherweight world champion; former super featherweight world champion; former lightweight world champion and former unified world champion. Gamboa defected and made his professional debut in 2007, and two years and fourteen fights later, on April 17, 2009, became world champion, winning the World Boxing Association (WBA) interim featherweight title. After three successful defenses, Gamboa beat International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight champion Orlando Salido to become Unified Champion. Three fights later Gamboa moved up in weight and won the interim WBA super featherweight title and immediately moved up another weight class and won the interim WBA lightweight title, setting up a unification mega-fight against fellow undefeated Terrence Crawford. Gamboa rocked Crawford early in the fight in what has been considered Crawford’s toughest fight to date but eventually succumbed. Gamboa took his last bout on three weeks notice against former WBA Super Featherweight Champion Jason Sosa on November 25 at Madison Square Garden. Gamboa won a majority decision and told Sosa after the fight “I’m sorry i didn’t give you a better match, I only had 3 weeks to prepare. I needed 2 or 3 more weeks to lose the weight correctly. Of course the decision was good though.”

Miguel Beltran, Jr. (32-6, 21 KOs) hails from Los Mochis, Mexico, a boxing hotbed that has produced no less than five world champions. Miguel won twenty-six of his first twenty-seven fights leading to his first world title fight, on December 10, 2011, in his hometown Los Mochis, against International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Featherweight Champion Juan Carlos Selgado. In the second round following an accidental head butt, the fight was stopped at the recommendation of the ringside doctor, was ruled a No Contest and Selgado retained the title. Beltran Jr. won his next fight, then was rewarded with another world title challenge, this time for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) super featherweight title against Roman Martinez at the Thomas & Mack Center on the undercard of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Sergio Martinez. It was a classic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico battle, they fought on the inside and fought on the outside and at the end, Martinez won the title by split decision. Since then Miguel has stopped four of his last nine opponents.

Puerto Rico’s “JuanMa” Lopez (35-6, 32KOs) from Caguas Puerto Rico, was his country’s Olympic representative in 2004. He made his professional debut in 2005 and in his twenty-second bout won the WBO super bantamweight title against Ponce De Leon by TKO on June 7, 2007 and made five successful defenses. He then moved up to featherweight and won the WBO featherweight title on January 23, 2010 against Steve Levueno. He successfully defended that belt twice. JuanMa was also named the Puerto Rican Fighter of the Year in both 2008 and ’09.

Cristian “Piedrita” Mino (19-2, 12 KOs) from Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina made his professional debut on December 19, 2014 and fought an incredible number of bouts, ten in his first calendar year, sinning all but one by knockout. He followed that up with nine more bouts in his second year – winning all by knockout.

According to Dan Rafael of espn.com former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa will take on Miguel Beltran Jr. for a vacant Jr. Lightweight title.

Dan Rafael of espn.com is reporting that undefeated Featherweight Mikey Garcia will take on once beaten Miguel Beltran Jr. as the televised co-feature of the June 4 WBC Middleweight showdown featuring Julio Cesar Chavez and Sebastian Zbik, spurning down a title opportunity against Billy Dib.

“It’s a good fight because styles make fights,” said Carl Moretti of Top Rank, Garcia’s promoter. “Beltran is a little bit bigger than Mikey. It can’t help but be a good fight.”

“They decided to not pursue the vacant IBF title fight against the worst television fighter in history,” Moretti said. “HBO wasn’t going near it and refers to Dib as the worst television fighter, and I don’t disagree. It’s a tough sell in today’s market. Mikey won’t have the opportunity with the IBF in his next fight, but I have no doubt he will fight for a title and win one.

“Anyone can fight for a belt, but looking good and moving on is where you make money and grow and cement your reputation. I think that passing on a fight with Billy Dib in Staples Center in a fight that would have been ugly to watch was a good move in the long run,” Moretti said.

“Mikey, more than anything, wants to be a champion, but passing on another HBO fight, it was just too much to give up,” said Garcia’s manager Cameron Dunkin. “He considers it an honor to be on HBO and he would never ever turn that down. Although he wants the IBF title and is thankful to them for making him the No. 1 contender, this wasn’t a 10-second decision. He said he can’t give up HBO for anything. It hurt him to give up the title shot, but he said that nothing touches being on HBO, especially to come right back and have a second fight in a row on HBO. He knows he will get his title shot eventually.”
