PHILADELPHIA (FEBRUARY 12, 2020) – Some of Philadelphia’s favorite fighters will be on display as part of the non-televised undercard of a ShoBox: The New Generation card this Friday night at the 2300 Arena.

The undercard will begin at 7 PM ET with the live ShoBox card beginning at 10 PM ET live on SHOWTIME.

As part of the undercard, Philadelphia welterweight’s James Martin and Vincent Floyd will square off in a six-round bout.

Martin of Philadelphia has a record of 5-1, and is the son of former light heavyweight world title challenger Jerry “The Bull” Martin. Martin, who has a win over Denis Okoth (2-0-1), is coming off a four-round unanimous decision victory over Juan Rodriguez on October 25th. This will be Martin’s fourth consecutive appearance at The 2300 Arena.

Floyd has a record of 4-8-1 with two knockouts. Six of those defeats have been to undefeated foes. Floyd is coming off a no-contest with Shinard Bunch on October 25th.

Also seeing action in a six-round bout will be welterweight Rasheed Johnson of Philadelphia taking on Omar Garcia of Mexico.

Johnson has a record of 6-3 with two knockouts. The 27 year-old has a win over Tony Morris (4-1-1). He will be looking to get back in the win column after dropping a decision to Kashon Hutchinson on September 14th in Bethlehem, Pa.

Garcia of Monterrey, Mexico has a record of 6-10. Garcia is coming off a decision loss to Desmond Lyons on October 4th in Houston.

Just before the Television cameras roll, undefeated heavyweight Norman Neely (5-0, 5 KOs) of Paterson, New Jersey fights Nicoy Clarke (2-5) of Jersey City in a four-round bout.

Eduardo de Oliveria Diogo (1-0, 1 KO) of Sao Paulo, Brazil fights Philadelphia Jerrod Miner (1-9-2, 1 KO) in a four-round bout.

Shamar Fulton (4-1, 3 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on an opponent to be named in a four-round bout.

In the main event of the four-fight telecast, lightweight prospect Thomas Mattice (15-1-1, 11 KOs) will face hard-hitting Isaac Cruz (18-1-1, 14 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout. In the co-feature, Raeese Aleem (15-0, 9 KOs) of Las Vegas takes on Adam Lopez (19-3-2, 9 KOS) of San Antonio in an eight-round super bantamweight bout. Plus, in a matchup of undefeated super lightweights, Cleveland’s Montana Love (12-0-1, 6 KOs) returns to ShoBox in an eight-round bout with Houston’s Jerrico Walton (16-0, 7 KOs). In the opening bout of the telecast, undefeated super welterweight Derrick Colemon Jr. (11-0, 8 KOs), of Detroit will face Joseph Jackson (15-0, 12 KOs) of North Carolina.

PHILADELPHIA–Jeison Rosario won the IBF/WBA Junior Middleweight titles with a shocking 5th round stoppage over reigning champion and hometowner Julian Williams at The Liacouras Center.

It was an action filled fight that had Williams boxing and countering well early. He was cut over his right eye in round two. Rosario started walking in and getting to Williams in that 2nd round, and that was a foreshadowing of things to come. Rosario started being the bully and hurt Williams in round four. Williams was hurt again in round five from a flurry of punches that had him holding. Rosario capped that off by hurting Williams with a hard uppercut and right that sent him prone into the ropes that forced referee Benjy Esteves to stop the fight at 1:37.

Rosario of the Dominican Republic is 19-1 with 17 knockouts.

“As soon as I stepped into the ring, I knew he could not hurt me,” said Rosario. “I knew that my power was affecting him right away. This is a big victory for me and for the whole Dominican Republic.” “Rosario was the better man tonight,” said Williams. “It was a great homecoming for my fans and I’m sorry I let them down. What went wrong tonight needs to and will be fixed. We’re going to an immediate rematch and we look forward to returning the favor.”

“I’m so emotional in this moment right now,” said Rosario. “When I lost my last fight I said I will never lose again until I become champion of the world and that’s what happened tonight. I came prepared. I knew before the fight that I was going to win it.”

Chris Colbert won the WBA Interim Junior Lightweight title with a 12-round unanimous decision over former champion Jezreel Corrales

In round 10, Colbert landed a little left that sent Corrales to the canvas.

Colbert, 129.8 lbs of Brooklyn won by scores of 117-110 twice and 116-111 to stay perfect at 14-0. Corrales, 129.4 lbs of Panama is now 25-4.

“He was a great fighter. People don’t realize that, because he had a bad decision against Ladarius Miller. But he’s a great fighter. He’s very awkward. He’s slick and fast. It was hard to catch him because he was running, but he came to fight. I take my hat off to him.

He was running and I was trying to catch him, so I told my corner, let’s have a dog fight. We got 12 rounds. I’m in shape. You see, I didn’t sit down one round. I’m in shape and I came to fight. “I did my job in there. My strategy was to hit and not get hit. I felt like I made him struggle for a lot of the fight.

Joey Spencer remained undefeated with an easy six-round unanimous decision over Erik Spring in a super welterweight bout.

Spencer, 153.9 lbs of Linden, MI won by shutout margins of 60-54 on all cards, and is now 10-0. Spring, 155 lbs of Reading, PA is 13-4-2.

“SI was in there with a cagey, long southpaw. And to be honest, when a guy is fighting as cagey as he was, it’s really hard for a guy with my style to just pull something out of nothing. He was a real defensive guy.

“At the end I really just pressed him, said I’m going to finish strong, and hit him with some good shots and if I had done that in the first or second round, I would have ended it early.

“I’m glad to get the six rounds in. Experience is everything. You’re only as good as your next fight. I’m happy to get in there and get some good experience and I did my thing and got the shutout.

“I’m going to stay busy this year. I’m going to have a four-fight year. This is one of four. We’re looking to bring some excitement and have some fun.

ERIK SPRING

“I was waiting too much. I thought he would come in and engage more and I was looking counter him but he stayed on the outside.

“I was more impressed by his speed then his power. He’s a talented fighter but I could have been more effective.”

Jorge Cota stopped Thomas LaManna in round five of their scheduled 10-round super welterweight bout.

Cota was active with his hands, and was able to get inside and land some crisp shots on LaManna. LaManna would get home with a right from distance, but it was few and far between the hard shots that Cota was landing that eventually bloodied the nose of LaManna.

The bout was stopped at 1:22 of round five after another hard flurry forced the corner of LaManna to call a halt to the fight.

Cota, 153.2 lbs of Sinaloa, MX is 30-4 with 27 knockouts. LaManna, 153.3 lbs of Milville, NJ is 28-3-1.

Vito Mielnicki Jr. remained undefeated by winning a four round unanimous decision over Preston Wilson in a welterweight bout.

Mielnicki, 146 lbs of Roseland, NJ won by scores of 40-36 on all cards, and is now 4-0. Wilson, 146.1 lbs of Parkersburg, WV is 6-4-1.

Romuel Cruz remained undefeated with a 1st round stoppage over Julio Garcia in a super bantamweight bout.

Cruz dropped Garcia twice, and the fight was stopped after the 2nd knockdown, and the time was 2:56.

Cruz, 122.2 lbs of Arecibo, PR is 4-0-1 with two knockouts. Garcia, 122.3 lbs of Madison, WI is 3-4.

Kyrone Davis stopped Antonio Todd in round four of a scheduled eight-round middleweight bout.

Davis landed some hard shots that had Todd reeling back. A big follow up flurry forced the stoppage.

Davis, 159.3 lbs of Monmouth, DE is 15-2 with six knockouts. Todd, 157.3 lbs of Atlanta is 7-3.

2016 U.S. Olympic Team Member, Paul Kroll took out Marcel Rivers in round four of their scheduled eight-round welterweight bout featuring Philadelphia natives.

In round three, Kroll dropped Rivers with a hard left hook. In round four, Kroll dropped Rivers twice with perfect right hands. The fight ended with Kroll battering Rivers on the ropes. The time was 49 seconds.

Kroll, 148.8 lbs is 7-0 with six knockouts. Rivers, 147.2 lbs is 7-3.

Norman Neely remained perfect by stopping ivermatched Larry Knight in the opening frame of their scheduled four-round heavyweight bout.

Neely landed about 10 unanswered punches that sent Knight to the canvas, and the fight was stopped at 1:21.

Miguel Angel Roman Jr. made a successful pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Antonio Lucanne in a bantamweight bout.

Roman dropped Lucanne in round three from a combination that was finished with a right hand.

Nutley, NJ (January 18, 2020)- Tonight at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, undefeated heavyweight prospect, Norman Neely will look for his 5th consecutive win (and knockout) when he takes on 27 fight veteran Larry Knight.

Neely, of Paterson, New Jersey is promoted by GH3 Promotions and racked up four wins in his rookie year will look to start the year with a bang, and introduce himself as a prospect in boxing’s glamour division.

READING, PA–Erickson Lubin won a 10-round unanimous decision over Nathaniel Gallimore in a junior middleweight bout that headlined at The Santander Arena in Reading, PA.

Lubin dominated the action as he landed thudding blows that had Gallimore in trouble several times during the fight.

Lubin of Orlando, FL won by scores of 99-91 on all cards and is now 22-1. Gallimore of Chicago is 21-4-1.

“I had a tremendous training camp thanks to Kevin Cunningham. At first we had Terrell Gausha but he fell out due to an injury. I appreciate Gallimore for stepping up to the plate. He gave me a tough fight and I appreciate it. We gave the fans what they wanted. I measured him. I just timed him and I was able to land my power shows.

“Kevin is a real strict trainer and he’s a southpaw specialist. We just improving our game very camp. I definitely want Jermell Charlo again. My goal is to get revenge.

“I thought I boxed really well. We stuck to the game plan. We drew the game plan up in camp and we executed. I knew he was tough and his game plan was to rough me up. I wasn’t going to fall into his game plan. I have good power and I used my boxing ability. That really helped me.

“We changed up the last few weeks to adjust to Gallimore’s style. But with the training camp we had, I was going to be ready for anyone who stepped into the ring.”

“Lubin was slick and I just couldn’t get my punches off. He was the better man tonight but I will be back and better.

“I was never hurt during the fight. We bumped legs a couple times and he was able to land a couple shots while I was off balance. It’s always difficult to fight a southpaw.

In a 10-round slugfest, former lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr. outlasted Adrian Granados in a junior welterweight fight.

The two stood toe-to-toe for much of the fight and had many crowd pleasing exchanges.

Easter of Toledo, Ohio won by scores of 100-90, 98-92 and 97-93 and is now 22-1-1. Granados of Chicago is 20-8-2.

“My opponent didn’t really want to fight, he just wanted to fight dirty. So all I could do was give him some lateral movement. It’s difficult when someone doesn’t want to engage.

“We wanted to touch him down, touch him up high. But once he got touched, the guy just tried to tie up.

“I tried to hit him at the belt to get his guard down but when the opponent doesn’t want to fight it’s very tough.

“There was no problem going 10 rounds. I’m in great shape and I’m ready to fight again as soon as possible.

“I showed my technical superiority tonight. All the heavyweights better watch out.”

“I took his punches well. He is fast and a good counter puncher, and I could not connect with the kind of shots I wanted.

“I felt I was starting to land punches after the 7th round. I should have pressed from the beginning like my team told me to.”

Brent Oren won a four-round unanimous decision over Zack Dubnoff in a middleweight bout.

Antonio Hernandez won a four-round majority decision over Zarry Larry in a middleweight bout.

Eimontas Stanionis stopped Evencii Dixon in round one of a scheduled four-round welterweight fight.

Swaby stunned Neely with a hard right hand. That got Neely’s attention in a big way, as he dropped Swaby with a hard uppercut. With Swaby hurt, Neely dropped Swaby again with a right hand, and the bout was stopped at 2:01.

Jose Miguel Borrego stopped Likar Ramos in round three of a scheduled eight-round welterweight contest.

Dorrion Lawson brutally stopped Rene Nazare in round two of their scheduled four-round super middleweight fight.

Lawson landed a booming left that dropped Nazare plummeting face-first onto the canvas, and the bout was stopped at 1:49.

Nutley, NJ (October 25, 2019) – GH3 Promotions undefeated Heavyweight prospect Nprman Neely will look for his 4th victory when he takes on fellow undefeated D’Angelo Swaby in a four-round bout on Saturday night at The Santander Arena in Reading, Pa.

The bout will take place on the non-televised portion of a SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION that will be headlined by junior middleweight’s Erickson Lubin and Nathaniel Gallimore,

Neely of Paterson, New Jersey has won all three of his bouts via knockout, and the 29 year-old will look for his fourth win in six-months.

“I started boxing at the age of 14, and had an amateur record of 57-6,” said Neely. “I was number-one in the United States and won five national titles and six local tournaments.”

The success of his amateur career led him to an invite to the camp of then reigning heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Neely had some out of the ring issues that forced him to be away from the sport for about nine years, and now he is back looking to fulfill the promise that many had for Neely.

‘”Everything is good now, I am in good condition, and I am looking to put on an exciting show on Saturday.”

Neely turned pro on April 27th with a 4th round stoppage over Lamar Lewis. He then followed that up with a 1st round stoppage over Kendrick Houston. In his last bout, Neely stopped Kwame benson in two round on August 17th in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Neely, who describes himself as a boxer-puncher, said he does not know anything on The Bahamian Swaby.

“I am getting back to where I was when I stopped. I am hungry. When people see me they will see that I am a different type of heavyweight. I have comeback to take over. What is changed about me now is that I have my man strength now. When I was an amateur, I was known more for my speed, and now I have added power. I still have learning to do, but I feel great and there is room for improvement. On Saturday night, fans will see a creative heavyweight.”

Nutley, NJ (June 26, 2019) – This past weekend, GH3 Promotions heavyweights, Roney Hines and Norman Neely remained perfect with wins on Friday and Saturday respectively.

On Friday night, former National Golden Gloves champion, Hines defeated 43-fight veteran Grover Young at the WinnaVegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa.

Hines of Cleveland, Ohio won on all three scorecards 39-37 to raise his mark to 7-0.

Neely of Paterson, New Jersey stopped Kendrick Houston in 79 seconds of their bout that took place at The Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland.

With the win Neely is 2-0 with both wins coming via knockout.

Nutley, NJ (June 21, 2019) – Two undefeated heavyweights from the GH3 Promotions stable will see action this weekend.

On Friday night, 2018 National Golden Gloves champion Roney Hines will take on his most experienced opponent when he takes on 42-fight veteran Grover Young in Sloan, Iowa as part of the non-televised undercard of a ShoBox: The New Generation card.

Saturday night in Fort Washington, Maryland at the Rosecroft Raceway, Norman Neely battles Kendrick Houston in a four-round bout.

Hines of Cleveland, Ohio, has a record of 6-0 with five knockouts and will be making the 3rd appearance of 2019. On May 11th, Hines went the distance for the 1st time in his career when he pounded out a four-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Daniel Infante in Cleveland.

In Young, Hines will be facing a very capable opponent as Young has wins over Tim Williamson (17-2), Daniel Martz (12-1-1) and Jervonta Charles (4-0). In his last bout the Memphis native lost an eight-round unanimous decision to Jerry Forrest on March 8, 2018 in Hanover, Maryland.

Neely has a record of 1-0 with one knockout. The Paterson, New Jersey resident made his pro debut on April 27th with a 4th round stoppage over Lamar Lewis in Vienna, Virginia.
