Ruiz Decisions Garcia

Leonardo Ruiz won a 10-round split decision over Raul Garcia in a junior middleweight bout at the Whitesands Event Center in Plant City, Florida.

Ruiz, 156.4 lbs of Santo Domingo, DR won by scores of 98-91 and 96-93, while Garcia won a card 95-94.

Ruiz is 13-0. Garcia, 156.4 lbs of San Benadino, CA 13-1.

Justin Pauldo won a 10-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Estela in a lightweight bout.

In round seven, Pauldo was deducted a point for pushing Estela to the canvas. In round 10, Estela was bleeding over is left eye.

Pauldo, 137 lbs of Orlando, FL won by scores of 98-91, 97-92 and 95-94 and is now 16-1. Estela, 137 lbs of Uruguay is 14-3.

Johan Gonzalez stopped Ricardo Villalba in round five of their eight-round super welterweight fight.

Gonzalez dropped Villalba twice in round five, and the bout was stopped at 1:57.

Gonzalez, 156.2 lbs of Panama City, PAN is 33-2 with all wins coming by knockout. Villalba, 155 lbs of Buenos Aries, ARG is 20-10-1.

Mandeep Jangra stopped Markus Bowles in round four of their six-round lightweight bout.

Jangra dominated the action and beat Bowles down until the fight was stopped at 2:41.

Jangra, 134.4 lbs of Khiaman, IND is 6-0 with four knockouts. Bowles, 135.2 lbs of Roxboro, NC is 2-2.




Flores Gets off Deck; Decisions Bunch

Bryan Flores was knocked down in the opening round, but came back to win a 10-round split decision over Shinard Bunch in a junior welterweight at The Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, Californina.

At the end of round one, Bunch landed a combination out of the corner that put Flores on his back. Flores worked himself back in the fight and won by scores of 96-93 for Bunch and 97-92, 95-94 for Flores.

Bunch landed 104 of 411 punches. Flores was 103 of 398.

Flores, 139 1/2 lbs of Ciudad, MEX is 24-0-1. Bunch, 139 1/2 lbs of Trenton, NJ is 20-2-1-1.

Schramm wins Majority Decision over Brown

Guido Schramm won a 10-round majority decision over Jahyae Brown in a super welterweight fight.

Schramm landed 210 of 805 punches. Brown was 180 of 570.

Scgramm, 153 3/4 lbs of Buenos Aries, ARG won by scores of 98-92, 97-93 and 95-95 and is now 16-1-1. Brown, 153 3/4 lbs of Schenectady, NY is 13-1.

Garcia and Terry Battle to Draw

Raul Garcia and Robert Terry battled to a eight-round draw in a super welterweight bout.

Garcia landed 92 of 455 punches. Terry was 91 of 309.

Each fighter won a scorecard by a 77-75 total, and a third card was even at 76-76.

Garcia is 12-0-1. Terry is 9-0-1.




Sampson Boxing Signs Undefeated Dominican Prospect Raul Garcia to a Promotional Contract

Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing proudly announces the signing of Dominican super welterweight prospect Raul Garcia to a promotional contract.

An excellent puncher with fast hands, 24-year-old Garcia (12-0, 10 KOs) of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, had over 150 amateur fights before turning professional in May 2021 and quickly rattling off a dozen impressive victories over domestic competition, including taking the undefeated 0 of countryman Francisco Ernesto Sanchez. He was last seen in December 2022, stopping then 22-3 veteran Angel Yomar Mateo in six rounds. Garcia says he began to dream of becoming a world champion after meeting the great Oscar De La Hoya as a young amateur.

“I know that my career will take off with my promoter Sampson and manager Cesar “Manguita” Mercedes in charge of my direction,” said a happy Garcia. “I can’t wait to be in the kind of big fights I used to watch on television as a youngster. I believe I belong with the best in the division.”

Lewkowicz, who is known for discovering hidden talents, has teamed up with Mercedes to introduce several future Dominican world champions, including Javier Fortuna and Jeison Rosario, among others. A keen eye for talent, Lewkowicz says Garcia will quickly become another top fighter he and Manguita are credited for bringing to the world stage.
