RESURGENCE IN THE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION ADDS MORE IMPORTANCE TO TONIGHT’S KOVALEV – WHITE IBF ELIMINATOR

Due to last night’s surprise announcement that leading IBF light heavyweight contender Karo Murat was forced to pull out of his mandatory July bout with IBF Champion Bernard Hopkins due to visa problems, the winner of tonight’s clash between Sergey Kovalev and Cornelius White on NBC Sports Network Fight Night (8 p.m. Eastern) will immediately become the mandatory challenger for Hopkins’ title.

“This pushes up the timetable considerably,” said promoter Kathy Duva. “Both Kovalev and White accepted this fight knowing that a win would ensure them a title shot. Now, it appears, the winner will likely fight for the title in his next bout. What was already a compelling match just got a lot more interesting and significant.”

These are exciting times in the light heavyweight division. Following Adonis Stevenson’s spectacular one-punch knockout of longtime champion Chad Dawson there is much speculation about what is to come. One of the deepest divisions in boxing, light heavyweight should provide plenty of action in the coming months.

In addition to the explosive Stevenson, the cream of the light heavyweight crop includes the ageless Hopkins, Nathan Cleverly, Beibut Shumenov, Karo Murat, Tony Bellew, Jean Pascal, Lucien Bute, Tavoris Cloud and newcomer Andrej Fonfara. In addition, there is speculation that Super Middleweight kingpin Andre Ward may eventually move up to 175, as might the UK’s crowd pleasing Carl Froch.

The winner of tonight’s bout on the NBC Sports Network Fight Night will now be assured a world title fight in the not too distant future and instantly become a member of this elite group of light heavies.

“I remember when light heavyweight was considered one of boxing’s glamour divisions,” promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events said. “During the 70’s and early 80’s the division featured a virtual “hall of fame,” beginning with Bob Foster and moving on through John Conteh, Marvin Johnson, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Dwight Muhammad Qawi and Michael Spinks. Personally, I will never forget witnessing 1980’s ‘fight of the year’ between Saad Muhammad and Yaqui Lopez from ringside.”

Duva stated, “There is so much talent concentrated in this division right now. I believe this is the most exciting group to emerge on the light heavyweight scene since the 70’s.” She added, “Tonight’s NBC Sports Network fight will only add to the buzz!”

JUNE 14TH SPORTS NETWORK FIGHT NIGHT HEADLINERS NEARING THE BIG TIME

BETHLEHEM, PA – You know a boxer is getting close to the big time when you start seriously thinking about how they might fare in a fight against the very top talent of their division, including the reigning world champions. You never do this in the early stages of a boxer’s career, but when they start climbing the ranks, one can’t help but wonder what will come in the near future.

Such is the case with both heavyweight Bryant Jennings, 16-0, 8 KOs, and light heavyweight Sergey Kovalev, 20-0-1, 18 KOs. Each boxer is world-rated in the top five, and both headline the next edition of Fight Night on the NBC Sports Network, June 14th at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, PA. The Fight Night telecast will begin at 8PM EDT.

We all know that the Klitschko brothers currently dominate the heavyweight division, but “BY BY” Jennings is an obvious choice when it comes to who may eventually take over once the Ukrainian siblings fade from the scene. Wladimir, 37, and Vitali, 41, are still turning back challenges with relative ease, but their time at the top can’t last forever.

Jennings, who blossomed as a legitimate contender in 2012, made five starts during the year that not only put him on the heavyweight map, but also boosted him to the #3 spot in the IBF ratings. With his renowned work ethic, winning attitude, and still-developing fighting skills, Jennings stacks up as one challenger who has a legitimate chance against the brothers.

Although Jennings would love to earn his chance before the Klitschkos retire, he figures to play a major role in determining a new champion, if his opportunity doesn’t come that soon. On June 14th, Jennings faces Russian Andrey Fedosov, 24-2, 19 KOs, in his latest chance to impress the powers that be.

Like Jennings, Sergey Kovalev, is quite possibly the future of his division. Just thinking about how “Krusher” Kovalev’s vaunted power would play against the top 175-pounders is a boxing fan’s dream. His June 14th fight against Cornelius White, 21-1, 16 KOs, is a title eliminator that puts the winner in line to face legend Bernard Hopkins. Even though the 48 year old Hopkins has spent his golden years beating the young studs of the sport, Kovalev’s heavy hands have a legitimate chance of seizing the crown from the boxing icon.

Who knows if Kovalev will ever get that chance? However, when a knockout artist like Sergey comes along, boxing fans want to see him vie for the championship, no matter who holds the belt. So whether it is fellow KO-artist Adonis Stevenson, WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly, legendary Bernard Hopkins, or anyone else, Kovalev’s chance at the big time is around the corner. All he needs to do is to keep winning, and if he’s smart, keep sending foes home early.

Both Jennings and Kovalev are on the brink of very big things. Today we talk about them as contenders, but before long we very possibly will be calling them champions.

KOVALEV AIMS TO KEEP KO STREAK ALIVE ON JUNE 14 NBC SPORTS NETWORK FIGHT NIGHT

BETHLEHEM, PA – Unbeaten Russian KO king Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev, 20-0-1, 18 KOs, not only has his sights set on Cornelius “Da Beast” White, 21-1, 16 KOs, in their upcoming 12-round title elimination bout on June 14th, at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, PA. The fast-rising light heavyweight contender is also aiming to keep his impressive knockout streak alive when he meets White in the nationally televised match.

The fight is part of a big boxing triple header to be televised live by NBC Sports Network on the next edition of Fight Night. Also on the bill is a 10-round heavyweight bout between Bryant Jennings, 16-0, 8 KOs, and Andrey Fedosov, 24-2, 19 KOs, and a 10-round welterweight battle between Ronald Cruz, 17-1, 12 KOs, and Ray Narh, 25-2, 21 KOs. The broadcast begins at 8PM ET.

Kovalev has made quite a name for himself over the past year with a collection of showy KOs that have not only disposed of top-shelf opponents and attracted many fans, Krusher’s big knockouts have also pushed him up the 175-pound rankings at a speedy pace. One more win on June 14th, and Kovalev will be so close to title shot that he’ll be able to taste it. And what better way to win the critical bout than with another knockout.

Undefeated, Kovalev has dispatched eight of his last nine opponents by KO.

In his last outing, Kovalev destroyed former world champion Gabriel Campillo in just three rounds on another Fight Night program. The skilled Campillo could not keep the raging Russian off him, suffering three knockdowns before the fight was stopped. Kovalev may have been favored to win the bout, but no one expected such a dominant performance.

Prior to that, Kovalev halted Buffalo’s Lionell Thompson in just three rounds on Fight Night last September. Sergey dropped Thompson twice in the second round and finished the job by sending Thompson on another trip to the canvas just 14 seconds into round three.

Although there were others who recently wilted under Kovalev’s artillery, it is these two fights that carved Sergey’s reputation as a dangerous puncher and a true title threat. But like any fighter in the spotlight, you’re only as good as your last fight. So the pressure is on Kovalev to put his heavy hands to use and continue to exceed expectations by sending opponents home early.

Sergey’s latest opportunity to make another statement comes on June 14th, and Cornelius White is the next man on the Kovalev hit list. After this 12-round elimination fight the winner becomes the No. 1 challenger for the IBF crown, currently held by Bernard Hopkins, of Philadelphia, PA. With so much at stake fans can be sure to expect an explosive battle.

NO LACK OF CONFIDENCE FOR TRIPLE HEADER CONTESTANTS ON FRIDAY, JUNE 14TH NBC SPORTS NETWORK FIGHT NIGHT CARD

BETHLEHEM, PA – The next edition of NBC Sports Network’s Fight Night features a dynamite triple header of boxing action on Friday, June 14th, at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, PA. Each and every combatant in the three nationally televised feature bouts is fully convinced that he will come out victorious. The telecast will begin at 8PM ET. We know this is impossible but all six fighters talk a pretty convincing game.

Philly heavyweight Bryant Jennings, 16-0, 8 KOs, is never short on confidence. His tear through the IBF rankings last year turned “BY BY” from unknown prospect to bona fide contender in 12 months. He sees his 10-round main event meeting with Russian Andrey Fedosov, 24-2, 19 KOs, as another chance to prove what he can do.

“I really don’t know much about him, I just how much I put into this and know what I can bear and that he’s no threat at all,” Jennings said. “I also know that he don’t work as hard as me, he may think he wants it more (than me) but he has no idea how bad I want this. I live this 24/7, 365! He’s not ready for B. Y.! I am confident of a win come June 14th.”

But Fedosov isn’t impressed.

“Boxing is something I’ve done my entire life. I was born and bred to do this, and I am happy to come back to America to showcase my talents,” Fedosov said. “There is nothing that makes me think I won’t win this fight. I would not have taken this fight if I was not confident that I can beat Bryant Jennings.”

In the 12-round co-main event, undefeated Russian light heavyweight KO sensation Sergey Kovalev, 20-0, 18 KOs, is certain he has the goods to defeat his rugged opponent, Cornelius “Da Beast” White, 21-1, 16 KOs.

“I will win because I am dedicated to this fight, I have a big desire to win, and I am hungry,” said Kovalev. “I do not know much about White, but this is not unusual for me. My job is to train as hard as I can. I have every confidence that I have all the tools I need to beat White.”

Thus far, Kovalev has had more than enough to turn back every foe willing to step into the ring with him. His recent knockouts have moved him up the 175-pound rankings and impressed just about everyone who watched. However, Houston’s Cornelius White thinks a fight with Kovalev is exactly what he needs.

“It is a great opportunity for me to show the world that I am an elite fighter,” White said. “This is the next step I need to get me closer to a world title. To fight a strong, undefeated fighter (like Kovalev) says a lot about me. I’ll fight anybody. This fight will put my name out there. This will change my life!”

The winner of Kovalev-White becomes the voluntary IBF mandatory challenger for Bernard Hopkins’ light heavyweight title.

In a welterweight 10-rounder, Bethlehem’s Ronald Cruz, 17-1, 12 KOs, looks to bounce back from his first pro defeat against battle-tested banger Ray Narh, 25-2, 21 KOs, and Cruz is convinced he can do it.

“Number one, I know I have the skills and capabilities to beat anyone,” Cruz said. “Number two, I’m eager to fight for a world title, and Narh is in my way. Added to all this, I have to prove that I’m a lot better fighter than I was in my last fight.”

However, Narh has made his bones by visiting hometowns and defeating local stars. He sees Cruz as just another opportunity to do what he does best.

“Gonna win this match because I got more experience and his style suits me perfectly,” Narh said. “I’ll teach him the art of boxing. The harder he comes, the harder he will fall.”

There can only be one winner in each of the three fights, so it will be interesting to see who gets the last word.

BRYANT JENNINGS vs. ANDREY FEDOSOV

Heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings, who boxed five times in 2012, makes his first start of 2013 when he takes on hard-hitting Andrey Fedosov in the scheduled 10-round main event on Friday evening, June 14, at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.

The Jennings-Fedosov fight tops a triple header card which will be televised live, beginning 8PM ET, as part of the NBC Sports Network Fight Night series. Other televised matches include Sergey Kovalev, of Chelyabinsk, Russia, vs. Cornelius White, of Houston, TX, in a 12-round IBF light-heavyweight elimination fight, plus Ronald Cruz, of Bethlehem, vs. Ray Narh, of Brooklyn, NY, in a 10-round welterweight contest.

First of seven bouts begins at 6:15pm with the televised card starting at 8pm.
Jennings, 28, of Philadelphia, PA, broke into the world ratings last year by beating solid fighters and staying busy. He began 2012 as a six-round preliminary fighter and finished ranked No. 3 in the world by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).

His 2012 victims included previously unbeaten lefty Maurice Byarm, of Washington, DC; ex-WBO heavyweight champion Siarhei Liakhovich, of Vitebsk, Belarus; iron-chinned Steve Collins, of Houston, TX; journeyman Chris Koval, of Youngstown, OH; hard-hitting Bowie Tupou, of Tonga. All but the Koval fight were televised over the NBC Sports Network Fight Night series.

A pro since 2009, Jennings is 16-0, 8 K0s, and always is included in any discussion concerning the best young American heavyweights along with Deontay Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Seth Mitchell, of Washington, DC. Jennings was chosen as Sports Illustrated’s 2012 Prospect of the Year.

Jennings is a work-a-holic, whether at his 7am-to-3pm day job as a mechanic at the Federal Reserve Bank building in Philadelphia or during his evening workouts at the Athletic Recreation Center at 26th & Master Streets.

“I haven’t boxed since Dec. 8 and I’m anxious to get back into the ring,” said Jennings, who got off the floor in his last fight to knock out Tupou with a right uppercut in the fifth round of their scheduled 12-rounder at McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.

There was serious energy in the building that night. After the knockout punch was delivered, it seemed as if all of North Philadelphia had climbed into the ring to celebrate the return of big-time boxing to that part of the city which has been home to some of the greatest boxers in the Philadelphia’s storied ring history.

“I never look ahead,” said Jennings. “Yes, I’m on the fast track to the top but people can make mistakes when they forget to concentrate on the task at hand. My job is to beat Fedosov, then move on to bigger and better things. That’s where my focus is currently.”

Fedosov, 27, of Shuya, Russia, is a relative unknown. He came to the United States in 2009 with little fanfare and the Russian heavyweight title.

He is 7-1 in the United States, losing only to former contender Lance Whittaker via 12-round split decision in a fight in which Fedosov tore his left bicep. He has been seen on television just once, a brief knockout over Lionel Butler on ESPN 2, and has boxed five times in California, twice in Indiana.

In his last fight April 20 in Hammond, IN, Fedosov knocked out Darnell Wilson, of Takoma Park, MD, in five rounds. Prior to that on Nov. 21, 2011, Fedosov stopped Rodney Moore, of Denver. Overall, Fedosov is 24-2, 19 K0s.

The danger in this fight for Jennings is Fedosov’s power. Jennings was knocked down from a glancing blow from Tupou in the second round. He cannot afford to be careless against Fedosov.

“Fedosov hasn’t had a chance to fight the top guys,” said Bobby Hitz, Godfather of Chicago boxing and Fedosov’s American promoter. “Once Fedosov gets a hold of Jennings, you’ll see a brand new face in the heavyweight division.”

Effect of maternal vitamin and mineral restrictions on the body fat content and adipocytokine levels of WNIN rat offspring.(Brief communication)

Nutrition & Metabolism October 15, 2007 | Lagishetty, Venu; Nandiwada, Vijaya Bhanu; Kalashikam, Rajender Rao; Manchala, Raghunath Authors: Venu Lagishetty (corresponding author) [1,2]; Vijaya Bhanu Nandiwada [1]; Rajender Rao Kalashikam [1]; Raghunath Manchala [1] Background Maternal under-nutrition impairs intrauterine development and increases adiposity, insulin resistance (IR) and associated metabolic disturbances in the later life of the offspring [1]. We reported earlier that chronic 50 percent restriction of minerals (MR) or vitamins (VR) in Wistar NIN (WNIN) rat dams increased the body fat percentage in offspring and decreased their insulin response to glucose challenge [2, 3]. We also reported that increased oxidative stress and impaired antioxidant status were associated with maternal VR but not MR induced changes in offspring [2, 3]. We now report whether or not increased body adiposity in the VR and MR offspring is associated with increased abdominal adiposity, altered expression of adipocytokines and insulin resistance.

Adipocytokines, the adipocyte derived bioactive molecules, mediate the systemic effects of obesity on health and regulate lipid metabolism as well as IR [4]. In fact the adipocytokine: leptin is important in the pathogenesis of eating disorders and obesity and mediates the neuro-endocrine response to food deprivation [5]. Overproduction of TNF-[alpha] modulates IR in obesity [6]. Furthermore, reduced expression of adiponectin and low plasma adiponectin levels are implicated in the pathogenesis of obesity and type 2 diabetes [7]. Indeed, mice lacking adiponectin display IR in some conditions [8, 9]. Considering that maternal VR and MR increased body adiposity and impaired glucose stimulated insulin secretion in the offspring, we have determined whether or not altered expression of adipocytokines was associated with these changes.

Methods Experimental Animals All animal experimental procedures were carried out in accordance with the ‘principles of laboratory animal care’ (NIH publication no. 85-23, revised 1985) and with the approval of the “Institute’s ethical committee on animal experiments” at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, India.

Female, weaning WNIN rats obtained from National Centre for Laboratory Animal Sciences, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, India were used in these experiments. The protocol used for animal grouping, feeding, breeding and maintenance was described by us previously [2, 3]. Briefly, the rats received for 12 weeks, a control (AIN 93G) diet or a similar diet with 50 percent (of control diet) restriction of mineral/vitamin mixture, mated with control males and continued on their respective diets through out gestation. At parturition, a third of the restricted dams were shifted to control diet while the remaining continued on restricted diets. Half the number of pups born to these restricted dams were weaned on to control diet while the other half continued on the respective restricted diet.

Blood was collected from the offspring (at six moths of age) after an overnight fast and used for the determination of plasma glucose, insulin and adipocytokines. Insulin resistance (HOMA IR) was computed and the body fat of the animals content was determined by the TOBEC method as described by us earlier [2, 3]. The animals were sacrificed by carbon dioxide inhalation, epididymal fad pads were excised quickly and their fresh weight determined.

Adipocytokine levels Plasma leptin and TNF – [alpha] concentrations were determined using a rat specific enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (R&D Systems, MN, USA). Rat specific RIA kit (Linco Research, MO, USA) was used to determine plasma adiponectin levels. The lower limits of detection were less than 22 pg/mL for leptin; 5 pg/mL for TNF-[alpha] and 1 ng/mL for adiponectin.

Statistical analysis Data was subjected to statistical analysis using SPSS package (version 10.0) and values presented as mean [+ -] SEM. Data was analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Post Hoc least significant difference (LSD) test. Wherever the heterogeneity was observed in the variance, differences between groups were tested by the non-parametric Mann – Whitney U test. The differences were considered significant only if p < 0.05.

Results Body fat content, epididymal fat pad weight and insulin resistance In line with the high body fat percentage observed in the offspring of VR and MR rat dams, the fresh weight of the epididymal fat pads was significantly higher in them (compared to controls) at six months of age (Table 1 &2). Rehabilitating VR mothers from parturition and their offspring from weaning (VSP) but not weaning VR offspring to control diet (VSW) reversed the body fat percentage and epididymal fat pad weight to levels comparable to controls (Table 1). While both the rehabilitation regimes mitigated the maternal MR induced increase in body fat percentage of the offspring only partially, MSP but not MSW could rescue the increased weight of the epididymal fat pad (Table 2).

Table 1 caption: Body weight, fat content and plasma adipocytokine levels in the offspring of vitamin restricted WNIN rat dams on postnatal day 180 [table “” not found /]
Table 2 caption: Body weight, fat content and plasma adipocytokine levels in the offspring of mineral restricted WNIN rat dams on postnatal day 180 [table “” not found /]
Despite their significant effects on the body fat percentage and epididymal fat pad weight in the offspring, neither maternal VR nor MR had any effect on their IR as assessed by HOMA IR (Table 1 &2). As a corollary, the two rehabilitation regimes had no effect on this parameter.

Effect of maternal vitamin restriction on adipocytokine levels Plasma adiponectin levels were significantly decreased (p < 0.05) and leptin levels increased (p < 0.05) in VR offspring (Table 1) compared to the control (VC) offspring on post natal day 180. However plasma TNF-[alpha] levels were comparable among different groups of the offspring. In line with the effects seen on the increased percentage of body fat and fresh weight of epididymal fat pads, VSP but not VSW corrected the changes in adiponectin and leptin levels by six months of age (Table 1). here body fat percentage calculator

Effect of maternal mineral restriction on adipocytokine levels Chronic MR in WNIN rat dams decreased both plasma adiponectin and leptin levels significantly (p < 0.05) in the offspring (Table 2) compared to controls (MC). Similar to the observations made in the offspring of rehabilitated VR dams, MSP but not MSW corrected these changes. Plasma TNF-[alpha] levels were comparable among the different groups of the offspring (Table 2).

Discussion Increased body adiposity and/or altered lipid metabolism not only precede but also lead to tissue insulin resistance [10, 11]. Inline with these reports, the offspring of both VR and MR rat dams had higher body fat percentage compared to controls. The increase in fresh weight of the epididymal fat pads suggests that the increased body fat content in the VR and MR offspring could be due to an increase in central adiposity, a hall mark feature associated with and predisposes individuals to IR later in life [11].

Similar to their effects on body fat percentage, rehabilitation of VR dams from parturition and their offspring from weaning but not weaning VR offspring to control diet rescued the increased epididymal fat pad weight. This observation stresses the importance of vitamin nutrition during lactation in programming the body composition of the offspring and is in line with our similar findings earlier [2]. That both the rehabilitation regimes mitigated the maternal MR induced increase in body fat percentage of the offspring only partially suggests its irreversibility to a great extent as compared to that induced by maternal VR. This is corroborated by the observation that even the increased weight of epididymal fat pads was corrected only partly by MSP but not MSW.

The significant decrease in plasma adiponectin and increase in leptin levels seen in VR offspring are in agreement with earlier reports which showed that similar changes were associated with increased body fat and IR [5, 7]. Although increased leptin levels are usually associated with increased food intake, food intake was not increased in the VR offspring suggesting that they were probably leptin resistant. These results in the VR offspring suggest an association between the altered expression of adiponectin and leptin and their high body adiposity, albeit their causal relationship remains to be delineated.

The decreased plasma adiponectin levels seen in MR offspring are in agreement with similar reports earlier [7] and corroborate the increased percentage of body fat observed in them. However, our observation that hypoleptinemia was associated with high body fat percentage in MR offspring is at variance with many earlier studies demonstrating an association between high plasma leptin levels and high percentage of body fat [5]. Further studies are clearly needed to delineate the role if any of the hypoleptinemia in maternal MR induced increase in body fat percentage in the offspring. Interestingly, hypoleptinemia observed here is in line with leptin deficiency reported in the genetically obese rodent models [12, 13] and also with the hypoleptinemia reported in type 1 and 2 diabetic patients [14].

Increased TNF-[alpha] levels are associated with increased adiposity and IR [6]. However chronic MR or VR did not alter plasma TNF-[alpha] levels significantly. This finding appears to rule out a role for TNF-[alpha] in maternal VR and MR induced changes in the body fat of the offspring.

That rehabilitation of VR and MR dams from parturition but not weaning the VR and MR pups to control diet could mitigate the changes in adipocytokine levels stresses the importance of vitamin and mineral nutrition during lactation in modulating adipocytokine expression in addition to the body adiposity of the offspring. However the finding that despite comparable (to controls) leptin levels, MSP offspring had higher percentage of body fat and epididymal fat pad weight is perplexing and suggests that hypoleptinemia and leptin resistance may both be involved in maternal MR induced changes in adiposity of the offspring.

Not withstanding the effects seen in the body fat percentage, epididymal fat pad weight and plasma adipocytokine levels, neither maternal VR nor MR had any significant effect on the IR status in the offspring as assessed by the HOMA IR values. Lack of any effect on the IR status of the offspring could be due to the shorter duration of VR/MR and/or the lower magnitude of VR/MR employed in these studies. Considering our earlier reports [2, 3] that maternal VR/MR irreversibly decreased insulin secretion by the offspring to a glucose challenge, the increased body fat percentage observed here in the VR/MR offspring suggests that maternal VR/MR could lead to a hyperglycemic state in the offspring at a later age. That the rehabilitation regimes had similar effects on plasma adipocytokines, body fat percentage and glucose stimulated insulin suggests that adipocytokines play an important role in maternal VR/MR induced programming of glucose stimulated insulin secretion and hence glucose metabolism in the offspring in addition to their body adiposity. go to site body fat percentage calculator

Conclusion The present observations indicate that increased central adiposity underlies the increased percentage of body fat in the offspring of VR and MR rat dams. Altered expression of adiponectin and leptin is associated with maternal VR and MR induced changes in the body adiposity (composition) of the offspring but maternal VR/MR differentially modulate their expression. That rehabilitation of restricted mothers from parturition but not weaning the restricted offspring to control diet could correct the changes in adipocytokine levels, epididymal fat pad eight and body fat percent may suggest a causal relationship, which however needs to be established. The results also suggest the importance of vitamin and mineral nutrition during lactation in modulating the body adiposity of the offspring, specially the central adiposity, a fore runner for IR and associated diseases in their later life.
